Need a new AppleID for starting Home Sharing/appleStore??

Hi,
I still don´t have my Ipad2, but I am looking already around in Itunes and stuff like that. I wanted to activate the Home SHaring option and it asks mean AppleID.
I introduced mine I use here at the Discussions, but it doen´t work, it keeps telling me that the password is incorrect.
Am I doing it wrong? Or do I need another account?
Thx

The ID for Discussions is separate.
Just create an Apple ID for iTunes. In iTunes, near the upper left you should see menu items File-Edit-View-Controls-Store-Advanced-Help, or their equivalents in the local language. Click "Store," and then "Create An Account."
THX!

  • HT204053 My wife and I shared the same AppleID but want to break these apart. We set up a new AppleID for her but can't get this changed on the phone. How do we switch her AppleID default on her iphone 4?

My wife and I shared the same AppleID but now want to break these apart into separate accounts. I have set up a new appleid for her and also set up on line. However, I can't figure out how to change this on her iphone4. I have looked at all of the General settings but need guidance. When I use the phone to try to purchase songs from itunes, it reverts to the old appleID.
    Any suggestions?

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)

  • Just started home sharing with another computer, if I sync my iphone will it load my music to the newly shared computer?

I just started home sharing for the first time. I just wanted to know if i sync my iphone with it will it load my music from the other computer onto the newly shared computer. Or are they supposed to have diffrent stuff in them? ( if so, if i sync my phone to the one with nothing will i loose the music thats on it?)

The computer you sync your phone with has no relevance to home sharing. Home sharing between the 2 computers allows you to see, play and import items on the second computer from the first and vice versa.
Whichever computer you sync your phone with, new purchases will be added to that computer and therefore be able to be seen, played and imported by the other.
I rather thought that's what you wanted, it can be realised without changing the computer you sync your phone to. Of course if you want to change the computer your phone syncs with, you can, you just don't need to, to get the items on it onto both computers.

  • Is there a definitive checklist for troubleshooting Home Sharing?

I googled that question and the first hit was a link to symptoms and diagnostic tests for borderline personality disorder
I haven't gotten Home Sharing to work between my iMac, iPhone or iPad, EVER. At first, I could blame it on my Actiontec PK5000 modem -- which everyone should know by now -- doesn't support multicasting, or IGMP, or whatever you call it, which is a requirement for Home Sharing to work. Some people say the latest firmware update for that modem fixes the issue, but it didn't for me. So, I bought a new DSL modem/router combo: Linksys X2000.
Home Sharing still doesn't work for me, and I'm tired of the same google results that don't produce solutions. Is there a definitive checklist for troubleshooting Home Sharing? I'm not talking about Apple's outdated troubleshooting guide.
    Here are my specs:
iMac 2.4 GHz Intel 2 Core Duo (2007ish)
OSX Lion 10.7.2 - firewall disabled
    iTunes 10.5.2
    Linksys X2000 wireless N router w/ ADSL modem w/ latest firmware Ver.2.0.01 (Build 4)
    ISP: CenturyLink (DSL)
    iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1
    iPad 2 running iOS 5.0.1
All devices share the same wireless network. It doesn't matter if the iMac is hardwired to the router or wireless, Home Sharing fails between all devices.
I beg you, please help. I have less than 30 days to return this modem/router.

Problem solved by wiping hd and doing a clean install of Lion. Yay! Apple phone support is awesome, btw

  • I need a new router for my MacBook Pro, OS 10.9.3

Need a new router for OS 10.9.3 and found that Linksys E2500 is not compatible. Any suggestions for a moderately priced router that will work for a 2300 square foot home and patio? Thanks!

It depends on what your idea of moderately priced is... however, I would go with the 6th generation Apple AirPort Extreme -> http://store.apple.com/us/product/ME918LL/A/airport-extreme?fnode=4d.
It's a joy of a router and so simple to configure with the AirPort Utility. Unlike some routers, where the setup takes a network genius to configure and maintain, you can access all the settings you need through the utility. I've had dozens of routers in my lifetime but the 6th generation AirPort Extreme beats them all, hands down, and is well worth the extra money that it may cost. It's also 'future-proof,' so if you buy a machine that utilizes 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology, you'll be set.
I can't recommend it highly enough.

  • Issue with storing authorization information, trying to start Home Sharing

I am currently attempting to set 'Home Sharing' up on my iTunes so that I will be able to share music and videos between two computers in my household. Both computers are on the same network, my home network. When I attempt to start Home Sharing, the following phrase pops up after putting in my iTunes username and password:
"There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer." (followed by other writing)
If anyone can help me to correct this issue and to start my Home Sharing it would be greatly appreciated.

  • I need an new Fan for my MacPro

    Hi,
i need a new Fan for my MacPro only the Fan because with the ball-bearing its something wrong when it's slow rotage (about 500rpm) it makes .klack*..klack...
I dont won't to send the Mac away for two Weeks only for replace the Fan.
    (i don't have two)
I think i have warranty beacuse i have bogth it on Nov 10, 2006.
It's possible that Apple send me only the Fan? It's that behind Memory expansion Slots.
It will be cheaper and easyer for both sides.

my only concern is that unless they inspect it themselves, i don't think they'd be willing to just send you a new one, because they don't know that you actually need one. I think they'd be suspicious, possibly thinking that you just want to sell the fan to someone else. However, they may work with you on this. I suggest you call Apple.

  • I need a new screen for my i phone 3 gs how much is it in the uk

i need a new screen for my i phone 3 gs how much is it in the uk

Apple does not repair iPhones, but will replace the entire iPhone for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/service/faq/
There are independent iPhone repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "iPhone repair". Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPhone serviced by an unauthorized shop, all further warranty will be void.

  • Does the iphone 6 need a new SIM for Apple Pay?

There appears to be some disagreement on this issue. I activated my AT&T iphone 6 by putting my ip5 sim in the new phone. Everything works normally, but I got a text message from AT&T saying that my phone needed a new sim for all network features to work properly. Some people have been told by AT&T that this has to do with NFC/Apple Pay, that even though Apple Pay is built into the phone itself, it still needs some kind of special secure SIM to authenticate the phone or something. Does anyone have a definitive answer either way? It's not a big deal to just go to an AT&T store and get a new SIM before Apple Pay rolls out, but after experiencing a major activation headache on launch day, I'm reluctant to "fix what ain't broke", so to speak.

I've read nothing that indicates you'll need a new SIM for Apple Pay. However, it seems as if the easiest thing to do is to wait until it rolls out, and see if the SIM you have works. It's not as if being unable to use Apple Pay for a day or two should be a big problem.

No, maybe you should get one but the reset of us can figure out how to use the internet and complex things like Google.
What makes you think you need a new battery anyway? It should not be bad on an iPhone 5 and besides which Apple uses batteries from the same manufacturer that other makers do.
And stop shouting at us you are acting like a spoiled child.

If you have WiFI which is not something extremely specific, and I believe it is not - you are fine with network, just go and buy you a computer and enjoy.
