Need a new g5 power cord/cable

where can i get one? anyone know? i don't want to end up with an old G3 cable that does not work, etc.

It's been a couple months, so you may have taken care of this already, but I thought I'd post the following links as I wait to hear back from Apple regarding the problem with our order:
http://www.welovemacs.com/g5ducoandqu4.html
http://www.welovemacs.com/9225950.html
We just ordered three refurbished "Late 2005" G5s for the office, ourselves. One of them arrived with a power cord for an earlier model, so I can't even plug the thing in. I now have to wait "72 hours" to hear back from tech support because it seemed no one was available to handle this yesterday. Hopefully they get this straightened out. I tried to explain that the power cord was wrong and that I just needed to swap it for the correct one. That turned out to be, apparently, the most confusing thing in the world yesterday, after the first guy thought I wanted to return the whole computer, the second guy in tech support (I was transferred there by the first guy) told me it was a sales issue and directed me back to sales (where the first guy was from) and the woman I spoke to said she wasn't a sales rep and didn't quite sound as tech savvy, asked, "Now, when you say 'power cord,' do you mean 'power adapter?'" Uhhh...no, I mean the stinkin' cord from the back of the computer to the wall outlet! Sheesh!). After all was said and done and she was verifying the e-mail address associated with our account, somehow I got suddenly disconnected from her ("We're sorry, your call cannot be completed as dialed, please hang up and try the toll-free number again" -- ummm...no, thank you, I was just on the phone for about 30 minutes, I need to get back to work), so hopefully they have all the info they need from me.
If all does not go smoothly, at least there are places from which to purchase the proper cord. I shouldn't have to, though.
Oh, well, hope the above links help. Forgive my rant...had to get that out.

    Hi,
It does not need power cable. It use power from its pins:

iMacs take generic power cords. If it fits into the back of the iMac and an electrical socket, it'll work.
    Good luck.

  • Power cord cable

I've notice that at the Apple store i visited, that most iPads on display had the power cables exposed or the cable about to break. I've had that problem w other power cables, and is usually at the end of the cable where it meets w the attachment that goes into the unit. Perhaps is the abuse that these display units take, but if that is any indication, Apple should consider a solution for the power cables attachments.

I have multiple iPod/iPhone cables-all of them in near perfect condition after a couple years use.
If you use the bottom part of the connector(white plastic part) to pull the connector loose instead of yanking on the cable part(as you should for any cable or power cord) they last just fine.

  • Replacing emac's power cord/cable/plug

so i have reason to believe, i have a faulty plug on my emac.
i have a couple of reasons for this, firstly there is a sticker on top of the plug saying "passed" dated 2007, underneath it says something about needing to be tested by December 2008.. secondly i got an electric shock from one of the plugs yesterday. and though im not sure which one it is, im gonna hazard a guess it was that one.
anyways, i just need to know how to get my hands on one, and also what the specifications for the plug actually is.
    thanks.

    Hi harreh
Cords appear to be available. Click on the link below. There is an Apple part No. on that page as well.

*Getting zapped is serious.* Maybe you should get an electrician in first, just to acertain that you are earthed properly.

  • Is the battery dead, or do i need to replace the power cord??

was using the laptop and had the battery fully charged, also with the power cord plugged in. laptop then apparantly went into sleep mode (took battery out, battery did NOT have any charge according to the charge level) left plugged into the charger and went right back to where it was before sleep mode
so i put the battery back in and it at that time seemed to say was charging, but an hour later checked the charge level on the battery itself and still seemed to say had no charge...

Go to Applications/Utilities/System Profiler. Select "Power" from the list on the left, and then copy and paste here what it says about your battery.

  • I really need to find a power cord for photosmart a646.

I've been looking all over the internet with shady results. The HP product search is NOT helpful AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I do not want to order something that looks good from China via Amazon but might not be the right product. Do you have any information about where I can find this power supply? It's an AC adapter 32V 844mA. Thank you very very much!!!!

    Hi,
They are ALL "Made in China" anyway.
    Good luck,

  • I purchased two 3rd gen ipads. However, one had the original wider cord plug in -- the other had the new smaller power cord plug in.

    Should I return?

The one with the smaller connector is a 4th generation ipad. There were no 3rd gen iPads with the lightning connector port.
As far as returning... If you payed 3rd gen prices for 4th gen iPad  I'd say  keep it. If you payed 4th gen prices for both, return the 3rd gen one and ask or a 4th gen. As that's what they should have given you.

  • Need Power Cord For Old Nomad Jukebox, PLE

I need the a.c power cord, it is a 9v cord and I can really use one, Any help ?
Please email if you have one, THANKS !!

i think that will be pretty hard to come by.
try ebay you may be able to get one.
    but if you cant...
go out and get yourself a REGULATED multivoltage power supply.
you know, those battery elimators with the 8 or so interchangeable plugs.
if its not regulated you run the risk of putting too much power into your jukebox.
just make sure it has a plug that fits your jukebox and you match up the polarity then your set.
go for something with at least a amp output however.
go for more then that if you can...
    good luck

  • IQ775 touchsmart - how to replace HD power & data cables

HP IQ775 needs a new data & power cable for the Hard drive.  Advise the proper disassebly process or advise where I can get a manual for this

If there is something in the way remove the screws that hold the item that is in the way, write down how you do it or take photos, then reverse the procedure when you put it back together.
The CD ROM will probably have a couple of screws in the sides, remove them and it will slide out of the way, trained monkeys can build these, so work backwards.

  • Mag Safe Power Cord Warranty

In november I had to replace my power cord. The person that I brought it to at the apple store said that I was lucky that I brought it in when I did because it was getting so warm that a fire could have started anytime.
I bought a new 85W power cord but now where the cord attaches to the magnetic computer-end plug the wires are exposed as the plastic no longer meets.
I'm worried that this will cause future problems and wanted to do something about it asap in case the item is still under warranty. Does anyone know if replacement purchases of chargers are under warranty? Or where I can contact support to see for myself? I poked around the support pages for a while, but couldn't find help that fit this category.
    Thanks!

Sounds like the OP purchased an 85W Power Adapter and the cable by the MagSafe adapter is what's fraying.
I'd definitely recommend bringing it into an Apple Store immediately for further assistance.

  • Does a Laptop Warranty Cover the Power Cord?

Hi, I bought a HP Envy Touchsmart 15 and it is still covered by warranty.   However, I cannot find any support help online such as  the support chat which I find very odd since I just used it about a month ago when my battery died!  Where did all the support go?
Anyways, when I plug in my laptop, the LED by the power port does not come on, and my laptop will not charge or turn on at all.  My battery is dead, but I know it works becasue it is less than a month old.  Since my laptop will not run on AC power even with the battery removed, I feel the power cord is the problem.
I would really like to know if my warranty covers the power cord, and if so how do I contact HP, since there is absolutley no information when I go to "Contact Us" besides the consumer forums.
I am a ECE student at UT in Austin, and every day I go without a laptop is hurting my grades.  So I need help ASAP

    Hi
Yes, power cord, adapter are covered under limited warranty. HP would replace it for you if it's faulty.
    Check warranty: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/weInput?cc=us&lc=en
These are what I could find to help you:
    Contact HP: http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp
    Contact HP in Texas:

  • European Power Cords

    Hello All,
I'll be moving with my MacPro and Cinema Display to Munich, Germany on November 30. I need to get European Power Cords for my machine.
Any ideas as to where I can buy Apple-branded power cords for European style outlets? There's currently no Apple store in Germany.
    Thanks,
    Rob

Hi Rob and welcome to Germany,
Gravis is a well known Apple 'store' in Germany.
They have a shop in Munich, see here: http://www.gravis.de/stores/muenchen/ and should have the appropriate power-chord avaiable.
Have a nice time in Deutschland.
