Need a post-MobileMe synced replacement for dashboard stickies, suggestions?

This question is motivated by the MobileMe to iCloud transition, but could benefit any users of Mac OS X Lion (and could be answered by anyone using a Lion desktop/laptop) so I felt it best to ask in this forum...
Now that I've moved from MobileMe to iCloud, no longer are my dashboard stickies synced between all the computers I use (nor any other dashboard widgets). Over the years, I've become quite fond of using dashboard stickies (not to be confused with the standalone Stickies application, nor the "notes" awkwardly stored inside Mail) to remember and keep track of all sorts of things. The way you can swipe between full screen workspaces in Lion actually makes me even more motivated to continue to use dashboard to keep track of stuff and jot random things down. I would never want to launch some application or go digging through a mail client or a web site in order to do this. Dashboard is what I like to use.
Now that I can't sync my stickies though, this information is constantly at-risk. In fact, since many dashboard widgets are extremely hard (it's not just a simple .plist swap anymore) to restore from a backup, if anything were to get messed up on my primary Mac all this information would just vanish (yikes).
It seems like this would be an excellent time for someone out there to implement a replacement widget for the default Apple stickies that offers some sort of networked syncing or other form of backup...does anyone know of a widget that can do this? If not, I wonder if anyone would be interested in developing one for people like me? I can't be the only user who would love this (former MobileMe customer or otherwise).
I would love to hear suggestions from anyone on what I can do about this. Just bear in mind, I have no interest at all in having "notes" bured inside my mail, even if they are synced to my iPhone. That's just useless to me.

I assume this could also be hacked together with Automator and some shell scripts, but I'm not sure how I'd do that.

yes, Chronosync is often recommended for this kind of thing. Never heard of Synk Standard. you can also do it for free with rsync but I suggest you stick with Chronosync.

Need os9 compatible DVD drive replacement for MDD G4

Are current ide optical drives (Pioneer 110, for example) supported at all under OS9.2? Not too bothered about iTunes etc support but do need Finder read and Toast burning support.

Booted into OS 9.2. Had to install Toast 5.1.3 from CD as I have not installed the program while started from my 9 volume. Used 110D to install. Restarted machine and burnt CD at 32x. Burn successful. Did not try a DVD-R.

was free when I got it. I need a free or cheap replacement for VB6, but do not need (or want) a full-blown version of VB--just the features available with Learner's Edition. Any ideas? Will I have to download the Visual Studio environment?

Text Replacement for Period Interval

Create 2 text variables(T1& T2) processing type as replacement path. For T1 set the option as "From" for use interval and for T2 set the option as "To" for use interval. Then you can use the header as T1-T2. This should solve your problem.

Only options I have found is changing font type, size and sticky color.
I`m missing options like:
Duplicate sticky
Rich text editing (same as a non-dashboard sticky)
Shortcuts
Does these options exist?

Well I finally gave in and formatted the external drives to HTFS+, so now I can read and write on them from anywhere on my home network. But this does mean I cant unplug them and use then with a windows machine directly. Or I have to buy paragon HTFS+ for windows and have that every time with me on a USB drive been allowed to install it (for example on one of the the computer at my school). It feels to me like this just a marketing scheme to spend more money. I mean how am I as end user suppose to know that after I upgrade my OS I am not able to use external NTFS Hard drives on my network. No one in the store when I was buying a mac told me: "Hey when you buy a external drive do format it to HTFS+ immediately or else you could have problems. I mean apple knows that except maybe for a few brands the most used format for external drives is NTFS. There should have been at least a warring before installing Mountain Lion. The best scenario would have been if it just worked. Ok enough of my complaining, its just that this has been really frustrating. I mean to backup 3tb is about 20 hours and then copy it back to the drive is about 13. Am still copying as I write this.
But anyway that's one problem solved. Wake on LAN still have no luck with that one. Well I got a work around but its not ideal. For me setting the Display Sleep to 3 hours works, because my iMac 24 and my main PC are nest to each other. But I guess for people that need this for remote servers even that wont work. O btw maybe this helps a few people, Teamviewer seems to be able to wake him up too.

Need help with Apple ID login for iCloud/MobileMe to move Calendar.

Despite the multiple warnings from Apple that MobileMe would be shutting down on June 30 & that I needed to migrate my "stuff," I didn't realize that my iCal calendar on my Mac & iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) was through my MobileMe account (@me.com login) and not my "main" Apple ID account (which is a Gmail login), so I didn't bother doing anything to migrate my "stuff" because I hardly ever used my MobileMe account, or so I thought. That said, my life revolves around my iCal calendar-- can't live without it! Two days ago I started getting a pop-up message on my Mac that says "iCal can’t log in to your “[email protected]” account because your password may be incorrect." It was while I went through Preferences to fix this that I realized my MobileMe account was the master one for iCal! I know that my password was correct, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that MobileMe is now shut down that caused the pop-up in the first place. Meanwhile, my calendars are not syncing between my devices, which is something I'd like to resolve ASAP!
I'd like to push everything over to iCloud, but I noticed that for some (dumb) reason, I used my MobileMe account login for iCloud as well! Is there any way to merge or replace my MobileMe account with my Gmail Apple ID account so that my iCloud is no longer tied to MobileMe, since that program is now defunct? If not, at the very least, any help you could provide on how to transfer my calendar to the Cloud would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Are you sure you want to entirely replaced the dashboard? If you're on 4.5 you can enhance allot of the RPM dashboard in the WD component /RPM/UI_DASHBOARD.
You still have to fill the RPM cache object if you want to use the detail iViews for example Element Details.
What exactly do you want to achieve?

Photo sharing replacement for mobileme galleries

HI all,
I'm sure there are others out there, like me, who built their entire gallery strategy on using Apple's "mobileme galleries," and now you have had to find a replacement for that becuase as we all know....There will be no replacement for Galleries in iCloud, you'll need to find another service to host your photos.
So..what have you people done to solve the issue.
I'd love to know. I am still using iWeb and have a host for my site, but I need something to get some galleries on display. I used to love using the "mobileme galleries" and really miss that so much. It was so elegant and simple.
If there are any suggestions you can share, please fire away.

I need a way of syncing without replacing everything.

My laptop had developed a problem and it needed it's hard drive replaced, so concequently I lost all my data. It is back now and my ipods still working but the only songs I now have on my itunes are songs i've put on it since it's been repaired. Basically I'm wondering does anyone know how I can either restore everything from ipod onto itunes, or just add to my ipod the new songs i put on itunes. please help!

1). Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are connected and your iPod is safely in manual mode there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you only want to copy your purchases to the computer that can be done using iTunes, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (including purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

HT204053 do I need to use the sync feature in iTunes anymore for my iphone now that I have cloud

Just getting familiar with iCloud. Do I need to continue to sync my iPhone through iTunes to get my Outlook or will iCloud replace that function? Also, does all of the syncing between my calendar in Outlook and my contacts in Outlook?

If you choose to use iCloud for Contacts and Calendars you should not sync those services via iTunes as well, that way leads to duplicates.

Hi,
Though a document is created in foreign currency, system will also update the amount in local currency based on the conversion rate given in the document or maintained in OB08 table.
If your requirement is to allow only foreign currency transaction for a GL account, then write validation with the condition that - If GL account no is XXXXX, check document currency is not equal to local currency (BKPF-WAERS).
