Need ABAP/BI/BW Info
Hi Experts,
I am a 3 month old ABAPer. Though I wanted to learn BI/BW, I couldnt because for learning BW, the institute said that I need to have DW work-experience. So, since I had programming experience, I took up ABAP.
So my question is, how and when should I make a shift to BI/BW.
Is ABAP experience needed in this module?
How should I make a switch to this module?
After completing sometime in ABAP, can I directly apply for BI/BW position?
Please asnwer my questions.
Points will be rewarded.
Thanks in advance
Asim
Hi Aasim,
Even the carrer growth in ABAP is very Good.
IN BW project, there is requirement of ABAPer. So if you are BW+ABAP, you will be getting paid more. Your value would be more.
Now, making a shift, even you want to change from ABAP to BW, you need to take some training. Because BW abap is a bit different thatn general ABAP.
The DW experience is not needed very much.but yes, its better to have knowledge in DW.
I'll suggest you to work for 6 months in ABAP and then take a training in BW. Because its more BW than ABAP in BW.
Hope you would have got some idea.
Please revert for any other questions.
Thanks..
Shambhu

OO ABAP is nothing but a class-method apprach to write ABAP codes and define them : below are few of the informations which will be of help for a newbie :
Types of attributes and the basic concepts :
Public attributes
Private attributes
Instance attributes
Static attributes
Public methods
Private methods
Constructor method
Static constructor
Protected components
Polymorphism
Public attributes
Public attributes are defined in the PUBLIC section and can be viewed and changed from outside the class. There is direct access to public attributes. As a general rule, as few public attributes should be defined as possible.
PUBLIC SECTION.
DATA: Counter type i.
Private attributes
Private attributes are defined in the PRIVATE section. The can only be viewes and changed from within the class. There is no direct access from outside the class.
PRIVATE SECTION.
DATA: name(25) TYPE c,
planetype LIKE saplane-planetyp,
Instance attributes
There exist one instance attribute for each instance of the class, thus they exist seperately for each object. Instance attributes are declared with the DATA keyword.
Static attributes
Static attributes exist only once for each class. The data are the same for all instances of the class, and can be used e.g. for instance counters. Static attributes are defined with the keyword CLASS-DATA.
PRIVATE SECTION.
CLASS-DATA: counter type i,
Public methods
Can called from outside the class
PUBLIC SECTION.
METHODS: set_attributes IMPORTING p_name(25) TYPE c,
p_planetype LIKE saplane-planetyp,
Private methods
Can only be called from inside the class. They are placed in the PRIVATE section of the class.
Constructor method
Implicitly, each class has an instance constructor method with the reserved name constructor and a static constructor method with the reserved name class_constructor.
The instance constructor is executed each time you create an object (instance) with the CREATE OBJECT statement, while the class constructor is executed exactly once before you first access a class.
The constructors are always present. However, to implement a constructor you must declare it explicitly with the METHODS or CLASS-METHODS statements. An instance constructor can have IMPORTING parameters and exceptions. You must pass all non-optional parameters when creating an object. Static constructors have no parameters.
Static constructor
The static constructor is always called CLASS_CONSTRUCTER, and is called autmatically before the clas is first accessed, that is before any of the following actions are executed:
Creating an instance using CREATE_OBJECT
Adressing a static attribute using <classname>-><attrbute>
Calling a ststic attribute using CALL METHOD
Registering a static event handler
Registering an evetm handler method for a static event
The static constructor cannot be called explicitly.
Protected components
When we are talking subclassing and enheritance there is one more component than Public and Private, the Protected component. Protected components can be used by the superclass and all of the subclasses. Note that Subclasses cannot access Private components.
Polymorphism
Polymorphism: When the same method is implemented differently in different classes. This can be done using enheritance, by redefining a method from the superclass in subclasses and implement it differently.
Reward points if helpful.

I teach Continuing education classes to Real Estate agents and I need to issue them certificates at the class, whihc need to be signed by me and it needs to contain their info on the certificate. The certificate is currently saved in a word format. What i'm trying to accomplish is to do a "mail merge " ( as some classes i have as many as 150 attendees) for the document, digitally sign each one with my signature on the certificate and then e-mail it out to the respective attendees. can this be done? if so How?
This is the step that I took after inputting my signature.
On the right, after saving my document, I click "Get Others to Sign." I was confused because it says that it's powered by EchoSign. Like I stated before, my clients are able to sign this document when I send it to them, but it is returned to me with their signature (not in the signature field, but at the end of the document), and my signature is missing. I tested this on myself - my signature is missing when they receive it. -
Torch is not working I need to get my info from BB Protect
My Torch just stopped working and I just got an iPhone. I need to get my info that is stored on BB Protect and download my pics, etc. into my PC or my new iPhone. How can I do this? I have a lot of work stuff in there and I am desperate!
1. Pics are not backed up to Protect. Are you pics on your REMOVABLE media card in your 9810?
2. You can only restore Protect backed up data to another BlackBerry. Have you ever backed your 9810 using the BlackBerry Desktop Software?
3. Get a new BlackBerry Z10... soooo much better than an iPhone... and you can restore your Protect data direct.

How can I completely wipe the hard drive with out the Mac OS X disc? I don't need any of the info on the computer.
You can't unless you have a bootable system on an external drive you can use. Otherwise, you need either the original disc that came with your computer or a retail copy of Snow Leopard DVD. The latter contains 10.6.3, so your model must be capable of booting from that or an earlier version of OS X.
You can purchase replacement discs from Apple:
Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 or visit online Help for more information.
To contact product and tech support: Apple - Support - Contact Apple Support.
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements. -

Need ABAP Query Builder Like Ms-SQLQuery Builder for Critical ABAP-Query
Dear ABAP Friends,
I Need ABAP Query Builder which is as flexible as Ms-SQLQuery Builder for building Critical ABAP-Queries e.g. "I have 4 master tables , Each master table having self-join with some condition and these 4 Result-Sets have Innser-Join+Left Outer Join " Please Help.I have seen TCODE SQ01, But I found that this TCODE may be used to build simple ABAP Query with Selection-screen which can be used for generating simple report. But i think for critical query ??????????
I have build my Query in MS-SQL and got the right output, Now how do I write this in ABAP Using Join statement. Please Help.....................

Apple store worked great, now it keeps telling me that I need to verify payment info and my security code is invalid for my card... The card is current? What's going on?
Did you enter the last three digits on the back of the card for Visa or Master or the 4 digit # on the front of Amex?

why we need abap XI with one business scenario?
Hi Narendra,
Good Check this documentation and corresponding links
SAP Exchange Infrastructure
Purpose
SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI) enables you to implement cross-system processes. It enables you to connect systems from different vendors (non-SAP and SAP) in different versions and implemented in different programming languages (Java, ABAP, and so on) to each other. SAP Exchange Infrastructure is based on an open architecture, uses open standards (in particular those from the XML and Java environments) and offers those services that are essential in a heterogeneous and complex system landscape:
● Modeling and design of messages, transformations, and cross-component integration processes
● Configuration options for managing collaborative processes and message flow
● Runtime for message and process management
● Adapter Engine for integrating heterogeneous system components
● Central monitoring for monitoring message flow and processes
SAP XI supports internal company scenarios and cross-company scenarios.

Hi All,
I have a requirement where about 1000 document numbers are to be used in the info package. I can wite an abap routine at the info package. Since there are many documents numbers, can I create an info object and load the numbers in it and use a simple select on the info object and compare it with the document no inside the abap routine. Though I have the idea I have not done anything like this before. Does anyone know how I can use l_t_range internal table with many individual document numbers?
Example code will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex.Hi Alex,
I used the following code to upload from a TXT file to the infopackage selection criteria.

If you already have the document numbers, I guess it is easier to load it from a text file instead of creating an Infoobj.
You might need to change the declaration to suit your requirement.
The following piece to be changed as required

DATA t_line LIKE STANDARD TABLE OF s_line.
