Need advice cs4 removing unwanted logos!!!!Please

I'm making a 30 sec commercial andneed to remove logos and trademarks ...ie poeples shirt logos and trademarks on equipment. Tried using the "write on " preset in cs4 with some success, as long as the item to remove is not in motion, it could be hidden. Unfortunately I have too many clips that need correction and it didn't work well for many of the clips.
I imported the clips to photoshop as an animation and corrected many logos with the heal function (frame by frame) .The result was at best 40% of what I would call perfect. When I exported the file to view it in premere and work the audio(photoshop does not do audio) the rendered file was choppy and of poor quality.Tried exporting in different formats and file types but got poor results there as well.
I would love some advice on how to correct this in premere cs4. What am I missing? Is there a tried and true method to remove a logo from video without using the blur option or the "write on " function? HELP!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!

the logos? Perhaps I'm looking at the approach wrong. The footage is
hd 30 fps from my Sony z7u as an mt2 file. I have put some crossfades
and other effects into the timeline....I should probably remove them
before I try and correct it as this just adds another diminution of
confusion. Perhaps after effects is a better medium to work in with
matte's? Any help on this would be great as the hours spent so far
are staggering for a very mediocre result. Thanks for the warm

Need advice on Unity Voice Mail Please

Around 4 years ago, i inherited a CCM v4 as part of a business relocation.
I've had no formal training on CCM, so everything i know, I've taught myself.
The system includes a Unity VM server, which until today has been switched off, as we've had no previous use for it.
I'm now trying to get my head around how it works.
I've created a user profile in Unity Admin, and allocated a log in as 5321, with password 12345.
There appears to be a number of lines in to the Unity server starting ext 8000 through to 8016, each of which answers with "Hello, Cisco Unity Messaging System, you can dial an extension at anytime."
I dial 5321 and leave a message in the mailbox.
If i log in to 5321 with the password I can retrieve the message.
So it seems that Unity is working OK.
What i'm struggling with, how would an end user divert all thier calls to 5321.
The way i see it at the moment, is that who ever is calling me would need to know either the ID (5321) or the name.
I'd like the end user to be able to divert all thier calls using "CFwdAll" to thier respective mail box, but not sure how to do this ?

No, that is not correct. You should not be dialing those 8XXX numbers directly. Those numbers are tied to the VM Ports that connect the Unity server with CUCM. Depending on your licensing on the Unity server, you have a certain amount of VM Ports. The VM Ports are used for taking calls, setting message waiting indicators and TRAP connections. Below I will try to explain this process.
1 - Create VM Ports and assign an extension.
2 - Assign these VM Ports to a Line Group.
3 - Assign the Line Group to a Hunt Group.
4 - Assign a Hunt Group to a Hunt List.
5 - Assign a Hunt List to a Hunt Pilot. You would then assign the Hunt Pilot with an extension. This extension is what is dialed to reach the Unity server.
6 - You create a VM Pilot with the same extension that you assign the Hunt Pilot.
7 - You create a VM Profile and assign it the VM Pilot. You have the option to make this VM Profile the default for the system, which is why you would only see "Default or None" under a Directory Number.
8 - Assign a VM Profile to a users DN.
When you create users in Unity you assign the users with their extensions. When the users dial into the Unity system, Unity sees their extension and if it matches a configured user, it will play the login prompt.

New iMac! Advice on removing unwanted files, migration?

Well, after several months of waffling back and forth between an iMac, a Powerbook or a Power Mac, I just ordered a 20" iMac with Superdrive!
Now, I'd like to ask for a bit of advise on how best to set it up & migrate from my iMac Flatpanel G4. I understand Migration Assistant is available to migrate my data and applications. Still, I have a few questions:
1) I don't have a lot of applications installed, and most I'll probably need to upgrade for Tiger anyway. Does Migration Assistant let me pick and choose which, if any, applications I want to migrate to the new system?
2) What about authorizing songs I've purchased from the iTunes store, will Migration Assistant handle that for me? Or does iTunes do this the first time I start it on the new iMac?
3) The new iMac comes with a 250GB hard drive... sure, that seems huge now, but I remember when a 345MB hard drive was huge... So, I'd like to dump some of the preinstalled drivers and applications (language files, printer drivers, Appleworks, MS Office demo, etc.) now rather than later. What's the best approach? Should my first step after getting my new iMac be to reload the system and deselect what I don't want installed? I know some of it can be easily dragged to the trash, but I don't think the language files & printer drivers can be just trashed, can they?
My current iMac runs great. I could probably just do a standard migration and everything will work fine on the new iMac. But... I've been in the Windows world a long time (only on Macs since 2000), so I always feel better starting a new system as "clean" as possible (i.e., dump/exclude what isn't wanted/needed, fresh reinstall of applications, etc.). I'd really appreciate your thoughts and experiences.

A little more on authorization: the best approach is to de-authorize your old Mac before moving stuff over to the new (mainly so you don't forget). You get a total of five Macs to play your tunes on and that probably seems like a lot but Apple is very fussy about it and won't usually make exceptions. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that just deleting your User account on the old computer will not de-authorize it; it'll stay authorized - even if you sell it - until you explicitly de-authorize it.
Also running the Data Migration when you first set up your new Mac tends to create duplicates. What I'd do is start up the new Mac as a disposable User - just a temp account. Let OS X go through all it's yawning & stretching and when it is done create a second User on the new machine with the User name from your old Mac. THEN run Migration Assistant and bring over all the stuff to this second account, sign onto it, and delete your first "temporary" account: no dupes!

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

After restoring to factory settings/new iPod you will then have to restore from backup
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Since your Mac probably came with 10.4, there is no longer a way to get 10.5 Leopard install media. IF it has the requirements, you may be able to upgrade to 10.6 Snow Leopard by buying the boxed install media at the Apple Store for $30.

The download itself is free and is valid for 30 days only. After that, the software ceases to work.
CS4 is pretty old, no longer sold and no longer supported by Adobe. It's also not compatible with many modern OSes.
Why do you have to work with such an obsolete version of Photoshop?

Yep, that's the only message that popped out. Nothing else. Yes, it's running on the latest ios and I still can't restore it. I called apple and they told me it's probably something wrong with their servers. Anyway thanks for the advice.

Major Issues with installing 4tb internal. Really need advice please

In the process of a long needed upgrade to my 2010 Mac Pro Quad core 2.8 and have run into a serious headache that I really need advice on so I can get back to work. I've already spent 2 days dealing with all of this...
Just did a new SSD install and Migration which went fine but I'm also updating the rest of the internal drives. My main (non boot) drive was being upgraded from a Seagate Barracuda 3tb to a 4th Deskstar NAS (it was showing as compatible with my desktop, see links below). My 3tb ran fine for years but now due to it being heavily used I want to switch to a new drive and I can also use a bit more space.
The issue I'm running into is that initially on boot, my system was telling me it couldn't recognize the disk and it wasn't even showing up in Disk Utility. I had to purchase a SATA USB 3 kit to attach it as an external to get it to show which worked without problem. With the USB kit I was then able to partition it (GUID, Mac OS extended journaled) and format it properly. After reinserting the drive into my tower as an internal it failed to show again. After a few attempts of restarts and trying various bays it popped up but showed as a non formatted drive and I was told again that the system didn't recognise it. I was then given the option to initialise and was then actually able to then format and partition it though Disk Utility while it was installed as an internal.
Figured that was problem solved but when I went to check the drive and getting ready to transfer files over I noticed that Disk Utility was only allowing the First Aid and Partition options but not Erase, RAID, Restore which I'd never seen before. I then also noticed that none of the drive connection info was in the same format nor will it even provide drive bay info, connection info or read/write status (See screen shots). This is what I can't figure out and really need to clarify before I put full trust into using this drive.
Any info would be greatly appreciated...

Really need advice/help please

I am importing VHS movies and I need advice on procedures, I am really stuck so any advice given will be very helpful.
I have my VCR connected to a ADVC300 analog to digital convertor, which is hooked up to my macbook.
I am using iMovie 08, but have the previous one installed iMovie HD 6.
I have no problem importing the footage... it comes in as a DV file (which I believe I need in order to edit footage later on).
My problem is:
1) The size of the DV is HUGE. Is this the format that I need to edit to later put on DVD by converting to mp4?
2) I am a total novice, so is iMovie the best for doing the import? I have Final Cut Express, but I am not sure how to use it.
3) I also have QT Pro, but after I am done doing an import and transfer the DV file to my back up drive... I cant seem to get the import to pull up in iMovie again. Do you have to do the editing right away after the import or you loose the ability in iMovie?
4) My HD space on my computer is almost full and I thought that I deleted the DV file off my computer after transfering it to a backup drive. I went into Movies, and iMovies and deleted it... but it must be stored somewhere else, because I have like 60 GB used still?

Yes, DV is huge. You really need an external drive. The hugeness of DV is not an issue for iDVD. iDVD will convert the DV or MP4 into MPEG2 for encoding on the DVD. If you get iMovie 09, you can send DV to iDVD. In iMovie 08, you share as an h.264 file and that goes to iDVD. In my experience, not much difference.

Yes, iMovie 08/9 is the best. You can easily edit in iMovie 08. However if you later want to edit in FCE, you can access these files from FCE. If you import into FCE, iMovie can't see them.

In iMovie, click VIEW/EVENTS BY VOLUME. You should see your external drive in the Event Library list. You can drag your file from your internal drive to the external drive by dragging and dropping the icon for your event onto the icon for the external drive. If you do it this way, iMovie will still see it.

It might be in your trash. Try emptying your trash.

Removing unwanted characters..

I'm back for help again. Unfortunately my brain isn't creative enough, so please help! :-)
Ok, I need to remove unwanted characters from a file...the problem is that the characters look like this:
in any text editor. I'm using JEdit, and it's ISO-8859-1 encoding. The text was initally from a html file, and i think that most of the html is displayed well as text in JEdit. But these squares, which are bits of info that I don't need, are making it a little trick to do my extraction.
Ex: the word I want to extract is "trouble". But in the file, it looks like this:
troble....
Anyone know how to get rid of all that stuff???

you could try to set a filter on the characters you accept. Process each character and only accept those that fall into some ASCII boundary. If you accept ASCII characters that have values between 33-255, most blocks should be eliminated.

of course, something like this will probably only work on "english" files as I dont have an understanding on how foreign characters are encoded..
if this doesnt solve your problem, you might want to adjust the range to 33-127, which will eliminate all "block" characters and all "special formatted" characters (i.e. accented characters, currency signs, etc.)
