Need advice RE: Merging my Palm Z22 info into my Pantech Breakout -App?

New to smartphones and want to merge info from my Palm unit into my phone without retyping it. Also don't want itall to show up in my contacts list. Any help is appreciated!

When I moved from a Palm Treo to a Samsung Stratsophere, I went through a lot of headaches transferring data. I posted the things that worked here: http://groups.google.com/a/googleproductforums.com/forum/#!searchin/calendar/palm$20to$20google$20worked/calendar/ozPh4eglXso/eTkdNj76lUYJ. There might be something there that will help you. If you're able to do a Hot Sync of your Palm's data to your desktop computer, the Palm desktop software may let you export all or selected contacts to a format that can then be imported to your online Google Contacts database. Once they're there, they should sync automatically to your Android device.

  • Need a method for importing Palm III data into a Palm Centro

I just bought a Palm Centro (Verizon), with the expectation of importing data from my old Palm III.  From the Palm III Desktop, I exported Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Memos into separate folders (this was done on a Windows XP PC) and copied the resulting folders & files onto a flash drive.  But when I try to import these files into the Palm Centro desktop (on a new Mac Pro with OSX), the backup files are not in a "recognized format."  Does anyone have a process for reliably getting the Palm III data into the Palm Centro?  Also, is there an easy way to purge unwanted Contacts/Calendar events from the Palm Centro handheld?  With all the trial and error, its accumulating a lot of garbage.  Thanks...

You will need to hard reset the Centro in order to clear out the Centro before sync'ing. Click on the following link for the hard reset procedure.

You could try to export the data in each category in Palm desktop, save to the flash drive and import the data.
Click here for the data export procedure.

Make sure you select "ALL" for the range during the export procedure. If you don't, it will only export the currently selected record.

  • Need advice with longer cables to hard wire into my wifi device...

Any advice,  I want to add a 2nd apple tv in another room but need a longer J45 cable to hard wire into my wi fi device at least 30 feet.  I do alot of utube watching?

An ethernet cable that length should be fine.
You might consider looking at mains powerline network sockets eg from Devolo, Belkin, Netgear etc etc

  • Can I transfer Palm Z22 info from my Mac to a Tungsten E22???

Any help appreciated...the Z22 has really died.  Thanks.

You will need an external drive formatted as Mac OSX Extended (journaled).
In iMovie, click VIEW/EVENTS BY DISK. You should see your drive listed.
In iMovie, select your Project in the Project Libary List View. Hold down the Command key as you drag it to the icon for the external drive in the Project Library List view.
Now select the Project in the Project Library List view, and click FILE/CONSOLIDATE MEDIA. This will allow you to bring over the Events, Music, and Photos that are referenced in the project to your external hard drive.
Now, just plug the external drive into the other Mac and you can edit.

  • DESPERATE: How to transfer my Treo 680/Palm Desktop info into my new 3GS?

Hello, so I finally bit the bullet and made the switch from my beloved Palm environment to the iPhone. Been on the Palm since they first came out. Yes, PalmDesktop (on 4.2.2. for the Mac) is awful and ugly and out of date, but it's where all my data is. (Trust, am upgrading my Mac when I can, just not the year for that expense too, sadly.)
And I am now up that migration creek of **** I thought I would be.
I have over 3,000 contacts in my Treo, with 300 memos, and a huge calendar dating back to Feb 2000 (no joke). It's like a life diary to me, I want to import it all. My work IS my contact list, so I need to import all 3,000 of them, with all their notes, categories, etc. into my new 3GS.
I am not sure how to do this. Desperately need some hand holding on this import.
Am on a Mac so I don't have Outlook.
Do I have to get everything into iCal and Address Book? How? Has anyone done this and preserved categories?
Do I shell out for Missing Sync and start there? (Anyone used this method?)
My friend and I tried iSync a long time ago and it doesn't preserve the categories, etc. so that isn't an optimal solution.
Am reading a bit online about people transferring from Palm into Google, and then the iPhone? That's a whole other ballgame. Thoughts? How to?
I am so lost. Been online for three hours and have no idea which way to turn.
Here's the desperate part: am leaving for Europe Saturday am, and need to make sure my contacts are in my phone, otherwise I have to drag the Treo along too so I have my data! Ridiculous.
    Has anyone done this transfer?
I'd be so incredibly grateful for guidance.
    Thank you!!!!

    Here are your options:
    1. Export from Palm Desktop and import to iCal and Address Book Instructions are here:
    http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/pre/migration/exportical.html
The downer is that this will lose your categories in Address Book, I think.
    2. Get Missing Sync here:
    http://www.markspace.com/products/palm/palm-sync-software.html?source=pickerpalmosmac
    3. Sync the Treo to Address Book and iCal, then connect the iPhone and sync from AB/iCal to the iPhone. Instructions here
    http://askville.amazon.com/Palm-Treo-700p-sync-Mac-OS-iCal-Address-Book/AnswerVi ewer.do?requestId=2508818
Number 3 is your best bet - it should retain all the categories etc. However, doing this in a hurry is a recipe for panic. My advice is to try 3 first. If you can't get it to work, try 1. Although that might lose categories, it gets everything onto the iPhone, and the iPhone's built-in Spotlight search will enable you to find people, events etc really quickly. And it's easy and quick. Later on, when you have time, you can try something cleverer.
    You don't need Missing Sync

  • How can I get my wireless keyboard and my new magic mouse to enter info into a Christmas list app on iphone 3GS? Do I have to move to another room? I have bluetooth on in my iPhone.

I have wireless keyboard and a new magic mouse. I want to enter data into a Christmas list app on my 3GS iPhone. Too time consuming to just type on iPhone keyboard. How can I get keyboard and mouse to be 'connected' or recognized by my iPhone? I have Bluetooth "on" in my iPhone.

You cannot connect the mouse.  This is not a feature of iphone
You can learn about connecting a keyboard in the manual:

  • Import data from Palm Z22

Anybody know how I can import the contact, calendar and to do information from my old Palm Z22 PDA into the iPad 2?

For anyone else still looking for a solution. I recently successfully added all my memos, tasks, datebook and address files from palm desktop to iPad. I uses a program called Dejaoffice which you can get as a trial. Use this to move all to your outlook files, tidy up then do a once only sync to iPad. After this you don't need Dejaoffice. However I did find it as a handy program....if you keep it watch out for duplicating data with outlook. Hope this helps all others to avoid a painful conversion program whilst grieving the loss of your faithful Palm and moving into the new Apple world.

Is there a reason for the hard reset? Or can we help you with a specific issue with your device? If it is just a need to hard reset. You want to hold down the power button press and release the reset button(on back) keep holding down the power button till you see palm powered or access powered. From there press up on the five way nav. On the bottom

  • Need to set up palm Z22 on different computer

Hi.  I am having serious problems with my pc.  How can I set up my Palm Z22 and all its info into a different computer?

Do you see the hot sync icon (circle with red and blue arrows) on the bottom right of your computer screen - right near where the time is displayed?
If it is not there, the hot sync will be disabled and you need to enable the program by opening the HOT SYNC MANAGER. This can be found when you click on Start > Programs/All Programs > Palm OS/Palm One > Hot Sync Manager.
The hot sync manager should then show up on your screen (on the bottom right) and you should be able to sync.
Let us know if this works for you!!
    Good Luck!!

  • Need Palm Z22 driver

Hi all.  I have a Palm Z22 handheld I purchased in 2005...still works great.  We bought a new PC in Dec with Vista but weren't able to restore all the items from the old hard drive and can't seem to get it to recognize the Z22. Says it needs device driver, however I've misplaced the original install CD that came with it.  Today I downloaded Palm Desktop 6.2 thinking that would solve the problem but it didn't.  I have searched all the recommended sites for a replacement cd no one has one for the Palm Z22.  Any ideas?

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
You need to go visit the Windows Hotsync board and spend some time reading through the "stickied" threads about Windows Vista issues.  Actually, I'm going to move this thread to that board.
First thing you need to determine is whether your Vista computer is 32-bit or 64-bit.  If it's 64-bit, there are no drivers and you will have to sync via IR beaming.

  • Hot Synching Palm Z22 with 64 bit Windows 7

I just purchased a new Sony Vaio running 64 bit Windows 7 and I'm unable to Hot Sync my Palm Z22 to my computer.  I've been a Palm user for years, with my current one being my 3rd model and it's been my lifeline but I'm highly agitated and frustrated that the Palm folks haven't posted any updates to handle my current situation.  Everything I read here indicates spending additional money to go the infrared route and some people aren't even having success while others struggled a long time to make it eventually sync.  Does anyone out there have an identical situation as mine, who'd be willing to give me sound advice as to what I need to do and how to do it in order to get my Palm to communicate with my 64 bit Windows 7 platform?  Thank you to anyone who's able to assist.

    @MrCobol:
This subject has been discussed and beaten to death in many other threads here.  The facts (again) are:
    1. Palm sold the rights to Palm Desktop many years ago.  Railing against Palm/HP makes no sense.  If you want an update, complain to Access of Japan.  They are the owners of the software, and they chose to drop the ball.
    2. Many other companies have struggled to come up with 64bit drivers for their existing software (that they actually own!)
    3. Palm OS devices were EOL'd quite a while ago.  They were supported through Vista 32 bit.  Microsoft changed things, and you chose to buy a 64bit system.  HPalm has moved on to a whole new OS and devices, and support for PalmOS is nearing an end.
Yes, it would have been great if Access stepped up to the "plat" and provided a 64bit version of Palm Desktop, but that didn't happen.  Workarounds have been provided on this forum by devoted users, and they do work!

Info:  Palm Z22, Desktop software for Palm is updated to most current, Outlook 2007, 32 bit Windows Vista computer.
I have been using Palm Z22 for several years.  I want to use Outlook 2007  but cannot get the data from the Palm device or the Palm desktop software transfered to the Outlook 2007.  I have tried a reinstall of the Palm Destop software, including choosing the Outlook option over the Palm option and nothing happens.

  • Palm Z22 old version-sync problems. Won't stop.

Have old Palm Z22. Downloaded new software and now can't sync.  It starts, won't stop or close. Must shut off computer to stop it!  Tried to uninstall new program, loaded old one from CD and still have the problem. Palm works fine but can't sync , so whats the point. Please Help.
    Post relates to: Palm Z22

Firstly, you do not have to shut down your computer to end the hot sync. Click Ctrl +Alt + Delete on your computer to bring up the task manager. Click on Hot Sync and click "end task" and then "end now" to the message that comes up on the computer screen to end the hot sync.
Then, restart the hot sync manager by clicking on Start > Programs/All Programs > Palm One/Palm Desktop > Hot Sync Manager. You will then see the hot sync icon (circle with red and blue arrows) on the bottom right of your computer screen right near where the time is displayed.
Do you use the calendar on your palm at all? Is there any info there that needs to be sync'd to your computer?
