Need advice to make outgoing mail work again

This has gotten too weird for me to figure out, and I'm looking for some help. It's like Mail has decided to stop sending mail. I'll explain the problem and then I can explain why it's almost certainly a problem on my end.
Any mail I send gives me error messages.
If I use my company's server, I get the message:
Cannot send message using the server mail.mydomain.us
The server response was: sorry, that domain isn't allowed to be relayed thru this MTA (#5.7.1)
Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server. All messages will use this server until you quit Mail or change your network settings.
If I try to use my Roadrunner server, I get
Cannot send message using the server smtp-server.houston.rr.com
Use the pop-up menu ...
If my wife sends mail using Mail from her machine, using our company server, it goes through.
I can receive mail via both mail servers, no problem.
If I go to the web interface for my server, I can send and receive.
The last note I was able to send (from my domain) was Sunday night at 10:16 pm. The first message I tried to send the next morning, I got this error. No Mail settings were changed. No network settings were changed -- I know, that makes it sounds like it can't be a Mail problem, but I don't know what other choices I have.
I've logged off and back on with no change. I've rebooted the machine with no change.

Are you also unable to send messages via your RR email account using RR's SMTP server?
Is your company's SMTP server authenticated?
Are you using 25 for the Server Port with your company's SMTP server and if so, have you tried changing the server port from 25 to 587?
FYI - sending messages via webmail access using a browser is not done with an SMTP server as is required when sending messages with an email client such as the Mail application so this is not related.
Do you have any SMTP servers available with Mail that are not being actively used by any email account?
I am also a RR customer and I use RR's SMTP server to send messages with my .Mac account when connected to the internet at home via RR with no problems.

    Are you using the wall charger?

It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer.     Try reset iPad
    Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    Note: Data will not be affected.

    You may need to change the configuration of Mail to have the SMTP (outgoing) mail server provide authentication. Many email ISPs will not allow remote use of their servers without authentication. Check with your provider to find out what type of authentication they use. Start with Mail Preferences > Accounts > Account Information.
    Select "Edit SMTP Server List" from the dropdown menu.

    If your phone is in recovery mode, all data are gone.  Connect the phone to iTunes on your computer and restore.

  • Outgoing Mail Works on MBA not iMac

    Umm,
    Here goes, by the way I'm not a techy so be gentle with me.
    So I have an MBA and an iMac amongst my Apple gadgets, I use mail to pop / imap several email accounts on each.
    All has been fine until my outgoing Gmail decided to stop working on the iMac only.
    I can send mail all day long from the MBA, having checked and compared the settings for both accounts identical, but whilst composing and sending mail from iMac it sits in the outbox forever.
    Incoming fine.
    So what has happened to the iMac application, the iMac by the way is a 2008 so came with Leopard, upgraded to Snow Lep, Lion and M Lion, MBA came with Lion upgraded to M Lion, not sure if thats relevant.
    Before I go and delete Gmail account and recreate just wondered if theer is a quick fix...
    I've searched and tried the many suggestions posted to no avail.

    It sounds like you may need to go into Mail>Preferences>Accounts and Complete setting up you Gmail account.  It may not be finished being setup.  For instance, note the line below to be selected from the drop down list in "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP", then click on "Edit SMTP Server List" and complete all of the required Information in the next windows:

    I am helping a friend that just bought his first iMac. The store set up his sbcglobal.net mail on his computer when he bought it. About a week layer he said he could no longer send mail. He had called both Apple & AT&T & each pointed the finger to the other, but no one was able to get it to work.
    After reading some apple discussion topics, I went over & got it working . I trashed the com.apple.mail.plist, deleted the sbc account and added it back. The mail app did this automatically, setting the correct mail type, port & smtp. It worked about a week & he called today & said it had quit sending mail again (just the spinning wheel beside the sent mail box.
    I repeated the above sequence, irash plist, remove acct. & add it back again. mail started working again but I have no confidence it won't quit again in a few days.
    Anyone have any idea what could cause this or what I could do to isolate what is failing?

    After reading some other discussion on outgoing mail server going OFFLINE, I remembered that when I checked the outgoing smtp account, it said it was offline. Sounds like I may have the same problem, but haven't seen an answer on what to do about it. I don't ever see this problem on my mobileme account, just the att.yahoo account.
    Any way to bring the account online without having to remove & add the account again?

  • Need help getting personal web sharing working again

    I've somehow managed to hose my apache web server and am hoping someone can offer some advice to get it running correctly again:
    my problem: I can no longer access my website files running on my mini server computer, and even when I run a simple local connection (127.0.0.1) from the mini, I get 403 Forbidden errors.
    Background: I set up a web page on a mac mini that I had set up as a mini server many years ago. When I decided to resurrect the mini and use it for this purpose again, I noted that my website contents were not sitting in my user/sites folder, but instead, were in a folder called WebServer, sitting inside the Library folder of my hard drive. Unfortunately, I lost all of my notes as to how (or why) I configured my server this way.

    After messing around with this a bit I started to get the 403 errors and decided to remove all the additional code mentioned in the link above in the apache config file and go back to my original set up, but this is not working.
    Is there a easy way to remove apache and install a default version like that which comes with OSX to start over with a clean config file, or can someone tell me where in the config file to search to see what else is going wrong?

    I thought firefox directly handled Motion-JPEG.
    Camera works in IE after loading an app or java or something.
    Am I missing a new extension or add-on or check box on this format ?
