My fellow forum geniuses: I don't usually pose questions but you all are so great in knowledge that I need you all's help. Due to financial constraints I wanted to know what is the best choice of purchasing a Refurb Macbook 13.3 2.4 gHz for $949 or a Macbook Pro 15 inch 2.16 gHz for $1099? I want to get the best for the money. I'm not able to go any higher monetary wise. Can you please respond ASAP. Trying to make that purchase by 10am today or when i wake up. Running Logic Pro 8.02, Pro Tools 8 along with a host of virtual synths like complete catalog of Spectrasonics, Battery 3, Sample Tank 2.5, Reason 3, Ivory, Sonik Synth...I think you get my drift....Appreciate it so much for the feedback....God Bless you all

That is a good thing you brought up: that one specific machine has an odd defect, it can hold two 2 GB's of RAM, for an obvious total of four. However the machine itself can only see three gigabytes of that total. Apple has recommended that you can use one of the 1 GB's in there already and add a 2 GB stick, which goes against their usual "matched pairs only" policy, but either way you won't get that machine to access more than 3 GB's.
It's only that one machine, though, the later ones don't have that limitation and the earlier ones can't go past two GB's that I'm aware of. My advice would be to skip the 2.16 GHz model and find another used Macbook Pro that is newer- even one generation newer. I decided I really didn't care, that 2 GB's would be fine on the laptop, since I had simultaneously bought a Mac Pro for any mixing I would do and needed to have more RAM in that as my priority.
As I recall, if you get the Macbook Pro's that end in rounder numbers- the 2.2 and 2.4 GHz, or anything after them, then you'll get around that limitation.

Or you can live with 3 GB's, or the two. I can say I haven't used anywhere near the two I've got while recording, after all, I have it to where the laptop itself is simply writing audio to another drive. But if you plan to mix (heavily, light mixing is fine with 2 GB's), or use a lot of software instruments (at the same time), anything other than light video work, then I'd get a machine that will be capable of the 4 GB's of RAM.
But really, 3 GB's is still a lot. But do make sure you get the "Core 2 Duo"! Big difference there. Good luck, happy New Year.

trace in Spotlight , Library . Nothing could be find .
Now , every time I open Safari , Firefox or Chrome , it will open in my home page , but when I start looking for something in steed of Google page , there is
''search.genieo.com'' page acting like a Google . I try again to get raid of this but I can not find solution .
With more research , again using genieo.com search eng. there is lots of articles and warnings . From that I learn do not use uninstall software , because doing this will install more things where it come from.
I do have AppleCare support but its to late to phone them , so maybe there some people with knowledge , how to get this of my computer

Genieo definitely doesn't help with your router. It's just adware, and has no benefit to you at all. They scammed you so that they could display their ads on your computer.

Afraid Compressor won't work with MKV. If you have access to a system running an earlier version than Mavericks, and with Perian installed you can use MPEG Streamclip or Quick Time Pro to convert to a mov.

I've just taken over a new job and have been the task of finishing the new brochure for Christmas, there's not a lot to do but a lot of the measurements need changing
This is the layout I'm dealing with..
All the boxes have been made in Illustrator
The text has been done in In'Design and it seems every piece of text is it's own box if that makes sense
My question is, if I select the whole specification box - copy, paste it into Adobe Illustrator and change the text there, then paste the edited box back into In-Design, will I lose quality when it gets printed?
I'm worried if I do it this way it may come out blurred? Or am I just worrying about nothing?

I couldn't find an Illy file in the end and have ended up creating tables in ID to replicate what was already there!
Didn't take very long and I guess if I didn't do it now, I'd come across the same situation next time!

There certainly are viable "quick fix" solutions proposed here, and if the dealine is looming and this file never needs to be touched again I might be tempted, but they are only postponing the pain for a file that needs periodic updates, and I wouldn't waste effort on them, myself, when that time can be put toward a proper rebuild now if that's the ultimate goal.

SD Process Design for Plantation industry - need advise

Hi all experts,
I am implementing for a crude palm oil plantation company, in which the general flow of the sales process from Estate to the Milling Plant is as below:
Sales Order --> Delivery Order* --> PGI --> Billing*
Sales Order: The fresh fruit bunches (FFB) is harvested and then the amount required by the Buyer is fulfilled via creation of a sales order.
Delivery Order: At this stage, it will interface with the Weighbridge system to carry out the recording of delivery quantity. Truck without the FFB is weighed once at entrance of the estate, and truck with FFB is weighed at exit at estate.
PGI: Goods Issue is carried out with the recording of the actual quantity from the weighbridge interface back to SAP.
Billing: The billing doc is created based on PGI quantity done.
This looks pretty straightforward, but there are few concerns from the above process as highlighted in the asterisk (*) section:
Issues:
1. During the Delivery portion, data of the Driver, name, person loading and weight loaded need to be recorded at the same time to carry out the incentive payment to the drivers (both internal and external drivers) with incentives calculated on per tonnage basis.
2. Secondly, during Billing process, the amount payable would be calculated based on the grading of the FFB + the which year the FFB is planted (i.e. different year would have different pricing per ton).
Need advise on how to make the above two issues work smoothly along with the process above.
Opinion, comments and feedbacks is much appreciated.

The loader and driver data is integrated to PP and the HR master module is leveraged to maintain driver/loader data master and payment is made to driver via customized program with customised calculation of salary.
The FFB is handled using PP module for Production and material posted via MIGO in MM and increases stock take manually.

It depends upon where you will be using it - do you need to be able to access the internet when you are away from wifi networks, and/or do you need built-in GPS (only the cellular iPads have a built-in GPS chip) ? If you get the cellular version then you don't need to activate a service on it until if/when you need it

Oracle Procurement/Sourcing :- Need advise on an implementation design

Need advise on an implementation design
Problem Summary :-
Our client(say "X") is contracted to perform certain business functions for their client (Say"Y")
Say "X" is do sourcing (RFP,RFQ) functions till PO creation,receiving in a excel based custom application ( Not through oracle EBS) for client "Y".
So "X" is not responsible for paying for those services and "Y" pays for those receipts.
We want to implement Oracle EBS Advance procurement solution for their above functions and replace the custom application processes.
But client "X" is not accepting advance procurement solution as they("X") are not paying for the services and they don't want to fit this solution in Oracle EBS as this may cause legal issues.
Questions:-
1. Whats the best design solution for this type of scenario to fit the custom process into Oracle EBS procurement ?
2. Can we follow the sourcing implementation process(RFQ/RFP)-> PO Creation-> PO receipts-> AP Invoice matching in Oracle EBS and is there a way to nullify this transaction in Oracle so that there will not be any legal issues? May be creating credit memo/AR invoice etc...

Can't activate iPad after getting it from repair. Need help quick!

I recently broke the screen of my iPad but the hardware was working very well. Today I got it back from the repair service I gave it to (not Apple store), and when I turn on the iPad, it tells me to activate the iPad using my Apple ID, I enter all my info correctly, but it doesn't unlock. Did they give me a wrong iPad, did I get scammed? Please I need help quickly since I will be leaving the town after 3 days. Thanks for any help

Do you have the serial number of the iPad you purchased & sent in for repair? If so, look on the back/bottom of the iPad to see the serial number of the iPad you have. Does it match?

I need a quick help on Pro*C. Here's the details on the same:
- My program takes one input file as parameter. Lets assume argv[2] is the name of the inputfile, which is my input parameter as well.
- ps_filename = argv[2]; I'm copying argv[2] i.e. filename in a variable called ps_filename
- Now this inputfile can be of two types, say type A_yyyymmddhhmmss.dat and B_yyyymmddhhmmss.dat.
- Therefore for every run I'll have one of this value as input parameter which will be copied into the ps_filename.
- Now I need to call two different functions based on the inputfile i.e. if ps_filename like 'A%' then call func A() else call func B();
But in ProC/C there is no provision to use like operator.
Therefore my question is how can I have ps_filename like 'A%' in C?
Can anyone please help me to solve this issue?

Switching to Lightroom - Need Some Quick Tips

Hi, I have been using Aperture for years and it looks like I will be using ACR or Lightroom because I'm having some issues that cannot seem to be resolved by Apple.
I intend to get into in the manual and start the process asap, but I need two quick bits of information so I can keep my workflow going for now.
1) I need to be able to sample a color and make adjustments to that color alone. Similar to Hue/ Saturation in Photoshop where a narrow band can be isolated and saturation, luminance and hue can be adjusted etc. In Aperture it is the Color brick and I don't know where to find it in ACR or
2) After using the brush tool, is there a way to blend or diffuse it?

#1: the HSL panel allows per color hue, saturation and lightness adjustments
#2: no, not directly, but after applying an adjustment brush, you can erase the mask by holding down the option key (Mac) to subtract from the mask. Done carefully, this allows you to fine tune the adjusted areas...
