Need alternate means of shutting down Communication Channels

Hello,
    We have a hung Java stack on a test system and cannot bring up the
Communication Channels screen to stop our Communication Channels. We
need a way to accomplish this. We can access some screens, such as
message monitoring, the management console, etc... but not Communication
Channels.   We have noticed, that if we follow the SAP recommended
shutdown procedures and stop the Comm Channels first, then the system
restarts much quicker and there is less chance of data corruption.
    Please advise.

     This is very helpful too. I have used wget in the past for scripts for pagers and such, I will also look to implement some sort of ksh/perl script to attempt to stop/start/status of the channels.

     Your information was helpful as well, however it appears to me to be an all or nothing solution. My issue was caused in our PROD environment, and itu2019s in a HA cluster, so I want the channels to come up as a result of failover, etcu2026

        We do have remote command center software that sends jobs to the PI system to stop and start certain channels, but our Java stack went haywire and we could not get access to the comm channel area to stop the data flow. We could have dropped the virtual IP, or cutoff the firewall, but I was looking for something more granular or specific. I am not sure if the URL method would work if the Java stack is hung, but I am going to work towards testing and implementing it just in case.

Just experience same problem today (04/18) with my Iphone 3GS, 32G, for the first time. my iphone shut down and I can't do anything with it. Tried everything I know, but no sign of coming on.
When I connect it to my PC to sync, my computer can't even reconize it. (there is this msg that pop up; " USB Device Not Recognized......")
Tried charging and recharging it, but no luck.

Need EMERGENCY help with shutting down my MacBook pro

So it's like this,I wanted to update the frameware,and now it's been around 3 hours that the macbook's monitor gone white and not operating with any keys of keyboard! How should I turned off or make it work?

To force turn the system off hold down the power button until it shuts down, everything turns off.
But that doesn't mean it will start back up. With any Firmware update there is a chance of turning the system into a brick. If it doesn't turn back on then your only option is to take it into an Apple store to be fixed.

FF 15.0.1 repeatedly freezes my entire computer; can't forcequit; need power button to shut down/restart; completely random, not an addon issue.

This is a freeze, not a crash, so I can't submit info to Mozilla. I've been through this in repeated updates, and it's only getting worse. FF used to be stable, now it's unreliable. I have OS X 10.6.8, fully updated. I have only 2 add-ons: Jave Applet Plug-in 13.8.3 and Shockwave Flash 11.4.402.265. It's entirely random, and usually with an ordinary site, with no video or pop-ups or anything moving. Force-quitting doesn't work; FF shows it's closed in the dock but the window is still open on the screen, and the beachball is spinning. It progressively freezes each app I click on, and finally I have to use the power button to shut down and restart. Again, this is getting worse, not better. I moved to FF because IE and Safari were so bad, but now FF is no better. Thankfully Word seems to save whatever I'm working on if I have to shut down, but email doesn't. With this kind of freeze, I'm not given the option to submit info to Mozilla - everything is frozen, the submit window doesn't even appear.

I spent many years on OSX 10.4 using FF with little problem. It was a bit bloated but worked fine.
Once I got a new machine and went to 10.6, my FF experience went downhill fast. I'm now on 10.6.8 and FF15 and it's by far the worst experience I've ever had with a browser.
It is, frankly, abysmal.
It locks up constantly, grinds away on the hard drive, seems unable to deal with javascript without slowing to a turgid crawl. It freezes seemingly at random and ties up my whole machine.
In the course of a typical working day, I estimate I have to force quit FF around 40 - 50 times. If I start or quit any other app, FF locks up shortly after.

You will go with modules when the XI standard adapters doesnot fullfill your requirements. You will develop modules using Netweaver Developer studio (usually) and deploy it in the J2EE engine. Once when you deployed you can use them like the standard adapters. Check the other post reply on how to create a adapter module.
Also Except for Sender SOAP adapters, you can use Modules for rest of the adapters. Check this help for further information:

Shutting down from a console you're not using.

As described by many users of fglrx or r128 on old cards... when shutting down from inside X, there is a very good chance that the computer will freeze before it finishes shutting down.
Nothing I can do saves that and from others I hear the only way to complete the shutdown is to ssh into the machine and issue that command.
This led me to believe that if the shutdown command comes from an outside source it will finish whether or not the console running X has frozen. I tried this script:

And used touch /home/dummy to turn off the computer. The script runs in console 2 so the poweroff command came from console 2 but i was running X in console 1. Nevertheless I just experienced another lockup and the computer would not shut down.
Any idea why? When someone ssh's into the machine and types "poweroff" the actual command that turns off this computer is coming from sshd correct? And the reason it works is because sshd does not run in the same console as X, it starts up as a daemon before you even login to a console at all. Does that mean if I somehow make the above script into a daemon and start it before logging in, touch /home/dummy will shutdown successfully all the time?
I need some way of shutting down (and using ssh all the time from another machine isnt practical) and I'm really confused as to why sshd can shutdown when console 1 is frozen but console 2 cannot shutdown when console 1 is frozen. The only way to avoid the freeze would be to turn off 3D acceleration and from everything I've read this means starting X without 3D. I'd love to know if there's a way to turn off 3D in the middle of an X session.
Does anyone have solutions? Or am I stuck waiting until I have a server which automatically shuts down my laptop over ssh, when the laptop tells the server it wants to shut down?

Hopefully this will become a non-issue soon as kernel 2.6.23 makes the chance of freezing on shutdown seem like only 1%.

HELP! My T400 2667WU6 with Win 7 Ultimate shuts down unexpectedly

My T400 started shutting down for no apparant reason a few weeks ago. By that I mean it shuts down completely in a flash -as if it suddenly lost all power.
Its not running hot either, and I can't find any conflicts of any kind.
It can run for 10 hours before shutting down, or it can run for 45 min before shutting down. There is no telling when it will happen.
Also, when trying to restart it right away -it won't boot up -boots to the first windows screen and locks up or simply shuts down in a flash again.
If I dissconnect the battey (9 cell) and pull the power plug annd wait a while -about 10-15 min, it boots all the way up.
Then it may decide to shut down again after a few minutes, or it may run for about an hour or more before shutting down again.
Anybody???

I personally would start checking the hardware. Run Memtest+ to test the RAM, CrystalDiskInfo to test the HDD and any other software of your preference to test the rest of the hardware.

Dynamic File name in FTP Communication Channel

Hi All,
We have requirement where ,we create a filenames dynamically ( runtime).These filenames whihc do change for every execution needs to be added in FTP communication channel.
1. How can we add the this generated file name in FTP CC Communication Channel.
2. Does this file needs to part of target structure during graphical mapping ?
3. Can we also dynamically append the Directory name to file names aswell ?
Please provide your valuable sugestions.

to get the FileName:
DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
To get the Directory:
DynamicConfigurationKey key1 = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","Directory");
Then append:
key+key1
And then in the CC select the Directory checkbox under the ASMA properties...
2. Does this file needs to part of target structure during graphical mapping ?
The file which is sent using the CC will have the FileName as configured in the UDF of the graphical mapping....and if i am not wrong then the target structure resembles the file (if there is no FCC done)....

External Control in communication channel PI 7.1

Hi experts,
I would need to start and stop a communication channel from an external program, I have read in differents post that is possible via http call. But when I do the http call I get a permissions error. What permissions o roles I need in my user to do this http call?
Is necessary configurate anything? My PI version is 7.1.1.

Here I defined a File communication channel from business system A.
1a) For which system (business system A or B) do I need to define a IDoc communication channel?
1b) What is the RFC destination and Port I need here?
Case 2:
- IDOC_to_IDOC scenario
2a) Do I need in this scenario only one communication channel for business system A?
2b) What is the RFC destination and Port I need here?

in this case no IDoc CC is involved. All you need is a File sender adapter and RFC receiver adapter

in this case you will need a IDoc receiver adapter only.
The basic settings:
In XI
SM59 - R3 connection pointing to R3
IDX1 - define the port with the above dest.
In R3
SM59 - R3 connection pointing to XI
WE21 - define the port with the above dest.
WE20 - Partner profile type outbound/Inbound

If you had "Find My iPhone" enabled in Settings > iCloud then you may be able to locate it. If not, you cannot locate it.
If it was enabled then you can try locating it via http://icloud.com on a computer or the App "Find My iPhone" on another iDevice. You can also tell your iPhone to "Play Sound", enter "Lost Mode", or "Erase".
Note: this will only work if your device is connected to a network and the device hasn't already been restored as new and/or "Find My iPhone" has not been disabled on it. Note: Disabling "Find My iPhone" is much more difficult in iOS 7.
If you think that your device was stolen rather than lost then you should report it to the police. In either case you should contact your carrier, change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

Configure Communication channel URL Dynamically

I need to Configure the SOAP Adapter Communication channel URL dynamically.
My requirement is like this, I have to send the Login request details to the Salesforce webservice after that I will get the response, that response has the ServerUrl, I have to map that URL to the Target URL in CC
I created UDF for that, Here is the code:

*If you encounter a invalid content type error check Donot use SOAP envelope and pass &nosoap=true
*use the url and post from a SOAP client
*If you get a mapping exception try to check what is the exact reason for the exception in the Trace

Iphone 3G shuts down ramdomly

Hello, i have an used iphone 3g 16gb, iOS 4.2.1, Jailbroken.
So, many of you might found that a jailbroken iphone, on the apple support communities, sounds offending, but i need help.
well, my iphone shuts down ramdomly, when:
- When im using an aplication, sometimes it shuts down
- When im charging it, and unplug it, the iphone shuts down
- when i lock it a put it in my pocket, when im going to use it, it's off -.- "
- When im charging it, it shut's down ( it was plugged to my computer when i was writing this reason i found it off)
- When i exit an aplication it's shut's down
- and no matter what level of charge it has, it can be 100% but shuts down
- and sometimes it shows that it has like a 55% of charge, shut's down and when i turn it on it's on a 85%
im tired of this, i need help, it doesnt shuts down like always, but it shuts down everyday, and it shut's down, for one of that reasons above, I need help

My iTunes shuts down each time I try to download a purchased song

Anyone out there who can offer any suggestions or help? I have purchased 2 songs using an iTunes Music Card, and when I go to view "Purchased Songs" there is nothing there. Then I go in and view my account and it shows that I have purchased 2 songs........so I try to download again, and I get the message, "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close (or shut down or whatever it says). Is there some other software I need to have in order to actually download songs from the iTunes music store? What am I not understanding? Thanks!

You may need to update to iTunes 10.7, which would require OS X 10.6.8.
But you can first try to reboot your computer and router/modem
