Need alternative to WebAssist for DreamWeaver

I refuse to spend $800 on Webassist Super Suite. Anyone know of any affordable PHP DreamWeaver CS3 extensions? Or a reference site with Cut and Paste PHP code?
A good Forum would be nice to find also!
Thanks in advance.

Hello 2bigfeet
If you do not get a more specific answer you want here, consider the following.
(1) If your iSight works properly (and reliably) with other Macs, you may have found a problem with your MacPro rather than your iSight. If so, a new webcam may not fix your problem.
You can try any relevant suggestions from How to test your iSight to ensure it is functional to see if you can track down and fix your problem or determine that your MacPro needs professional service.
To assure you meet the considerable speed called for in iChat 4 System Requirements, be sure disconnect or turn off all other devices on your LAN while you test your broadband speed and troubleshoot.
Especially if you are using other Firewire devices or third-party AV software with your external iSight, pay particular attention to possible conflicts mentioned in the testing info. Even if you can get your iSight working properly with your MacPro, you may wish to use a USB cam for iChat if you must have Firewire devices that conflict with your iSight connected while you connect for video chats.
(2) Other cam info at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5725045&#5725045
The comments about UVC cams apply equally to your Leopard Mac without adding any software. Complete support for UVC cams is included in the Mac OS itself after 10.4.8.
(3) This recent thread gives some specific examples that are working for other Leopard users running iChat 4: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1201902&tstart=150
Any of the cams there will work with a 10.5.2 MacPro that is working properly.

  • Need alternative to isight for 8-core MacPro running 10.5.2...?

    My external isight will not work for more than a couple minutes in iChat before the picture distorts and audio coming from my end is delayed by five seconds. It works fine as can be with my old G4 1.25 running 10.4.8, I was hoping the 10.5.2 update would fix this issue.
    Is there a confirmed working alternative (camera) that is compatible with a MacPro 8-core & Leopard 10.5.2...?

  • Need alternative port open for VIPs on ACE

    My ACE is almost completely configured - with VIPs, farms, real servers, redirects etc. Port 80 and 443 are working as expected and web requests are getting routed appropriately.
    The need has arisen however, to allow a non-traditional port to be allowed/open to certain websites (to certain VIPs). (As some background - this is an SFTP style client based connection. )
    My ACL configuration is open - ip any any - but i even created one specific to this port number. (let's just say it's 7777 for now). I've done captures on the firewall to make sure that traffic from external requests is getting through it, and when I try to connect to the real server address (either NATed or internally), it connects just fine. I am unable to see the connection attempts in the logging on the ACE and the error message that the client app gets is "connection refused"
    I'm not good with policy maps or class maps, so I'm not sure if that's where I need to be looking. I suppose that the issue is at the VIP level though since the server IPs work fine, so I need to understand what gets processed via that IP that doesn't via the others.
    So if I currently have websites on the ACE configured to accept, redirect, and loadbalance for port 80 and 443, but I now need them to do the same on port 7777, what changes need to be applied and where?
    I can paste any config info if someone can help me. Thanks.

    Good afternoon,
    This new port would be a completely new VIP, so, you would need to create a new class-map for it.

  • Need alternative wireles adapter for Photosmart 8150. Cannot findan hp bt300

    Are there any solutions to wireless printing with this printer?  I cannot find an HP BT300 anywhere.  I even saw an HP bt500 on newegg and it is out of stock.
    Please help.
    Thank you

    The printer does not support networks (wireless, wired).
    However, you can try to share the printer on the network from one computer.
    This works by making one computer a print server that handles all the printing for it.  This method will require the host computer to remain on for other computers to print and a USB cable to connect the printer to the host computer.
    If this is an option you are interested in, please provide the following information:
    What operating systems do the computers on the network use (e.g. Windows 7, Vista, XP, etc.)?
    What operating system will the host computer (the one that is on to print) be using?

    I cant find another black ink cartridge except #140 for my hp photosmart c4583. Can any one provide me with more cartridge options please?

    Hi nkorojohn,
    I understand you're looking for different cartridges for your Photosmart C4583. I will certainly do my best to steer you in the right direction
    If you are within the US, you can go to HP Shopping, click on Ink, toner, paper at the top and find out which cartridges your printer can use there.
    If you are outside the US, this HP SureSupply website will tell you the cartridges available and where you can get them from.
    Hope this helps, have a great day!!

  • Regular Expression For Dreamweaver

    I still haven't had the time to really become a professional when it comes to regular expressions, and sadly I am in need of one an finding it difficult to wrap my head around.
    In a text file I have hundreds of instances like the following:
    {Click here to visit my website}{http://www.adobe.com/}
    I need a regular expression for Dreamweaver that I can run within the "Find and Replace" window to switch the order of the above elements to:
    {http://www.adobe.com/}{Click here to visit my website}
    Can anyone provide some guidance? I'm coming up short due to my lack of experience with regular expressions.
    Thank you in advance!

    So you have a string that starts { and goes until the first }.  Then you have another string exactly the same.  And you want to swap them.  I'm not making any assumption that the second one has to look like a URL (that's a whole other minefield, but perhaps you could do something simple like it must start with http).
    You don't specify how your text file is divided up, have you got this as a complete line to itself, or is it just  a huge block of text?  Preferably as individual lines.
    I don't have Dreamweaver, but this worked for me in Notepad++
    Find: ^{(.*?)}{(.*?)}$
    Replace with: {\2}{\1}
    My file looked like this:
    {Click here to visit my website}{http://www.adobe.com/}
    {some other site}{http://www.example.com/foo}
    And doing a Replace All ended up like this:
    {http://www.adobe.com/}{Click here to visit my website}
    {http://www.example.com/foo}{some other site}

  • Need alternative for activex print control using Crystal reports 2008

    I have created a .Net web application (2.0/3.5 .Net framework) with crystal reports 2008.
    Reports are viewed using Crystal reports 2008 activex viewer.
    On click of PRINT icon in activex viewer, activex print control download prompt will be displayed on client machine.
    I need to avoid downloading of activex print control on client machine. Is there any other alternative or option to use print functionality in viewer without downloading activex print control on client machine?
    Or Is there any other workaround for print functionality in Crystal reports 2008 Viewer without downloading activex print control?
    Note: Activex print control download prompt will not be displayed when using Crystal reprots XI Release 2 version.
    Thanks,
    Jagannath

    Does anyone know which files need to be registered for the ActiveX print control?  We occasionally have users who somehow break their Crystal ActiveX controls, and they can no longer see the print options.  In Crystal 10, I was able to fix these issues by pushing a package which registered several files on the user's computer.

  • Is separate graphics card needed for Dreamweaver CS4?

    My PC (an HP Pavilion a1120n) meets the stated system
    requirements for Dreamweaver CS4, except that it has integrated
    graphics (max of 128MB) instead of a separate video card. I can
    easily upgrade to 4MB of RAM. Could anyone please tell me whether
    Dreamweaver will run on my machine, or whether I need to invest in
    a new PC. A potential free-lance job rides on this question. Many
    thanks!

    To be honest, all you really need is a crappy old computer
    and Notepad.
    I'll admit that this may be a really bare-bones way to start,
    though.
    In my opinion, the best was would be to get the Adobe
    Creative Suite 4 Web
    Premium package. It is a pricey bird, though ($1,699 domestic
    for a full
    copy - not upgrade). I'm assuming you want to stick with
    Dreamweaver.

  • Alternative to Webassist Dinamic Flash Charts?

    Hi all,
    I just bought Dinamic Flash Chart from webassist and I
    dicovered the
    bad way it has too much limitations.
    Is there an alternative to integrate in dreamweaver (8)?
    Thanks in advance.
    tony

    Craig, thanks for the suggestion. I gave Qfolio HD a try and it does indeed have interactive charts. It's OK but not great. But the important thing is that the technology exists. Hopefully there are other applications now or being developed to provide this type of technology for touch screen devices. Thanks again.

  • Patch for Dreamweaver CS5 or 6 from Poodle Vulnerability

    GoDaddy ran a security patch for Poodle and now Dreamweaver can't connect. FTP over SSL/TLS explicit encryption is used. Is there a patch from Adobe for Dreamweaver?

    The perpetual license of CS6 is essentially Adobe's response to those folks who absolutely refuse to switch to the Creative Cloud Subscription plans. It's actually 3 versions (4 if you count Cloud CS6) removed from "current". Even though it's still available for purchase, it hasn't been receiving any updates and is getting further and further behind DWCC as time goes by.
    Adobe has a phone number, you just need to dig...
    Contact Customer Care
    Click Dreamweaver > How-to's and troubleshooting > Troubleshoot > click the big blue Still Need Help button

  • Wishlist for Dreamweaver CS5 (from Adobe Website)  - Don´t let ADDT die.

    Wishlist for Dreamweaver CS5 from adobe site.
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

    Hi Günter
    It's been a long time since I've been here. Hope life is treating you well.
    Tried a lot of other DW extensions in the mean time
    None of them match the robustness of ADDT
    Most are buggy, one shot ponies that miss the bigger picture of providing integrated tools for development. All I've tried are a closed shop of functions and variables that you have to navigate by hand if you want any sort of amended functionality - on the whole a pretty poor lot.
    And, I've looked at many of the off the shelf offerings that Adobe had told us that are clients wanted rather than bespoke solutions.
    And no, most don't want them - they still just want concise tools/interfaces that are easy to learn, use and do what THEY want them to do. Not behemoth collections of options, bells an whistles. Naturally some do and I'm happy to oblige (who wants to write a forum from scratch!). So its not clear cut either way as seemed to be implied a year or so ago.
    Yes, it would be nice just to have the toolkit useable from CS5
    - but as ever, the end users are out of the picture. Maybe there will be a new version, or completely new tools - that would be most welcome.
    We still need good data tools. Integration with databases (none of my clients want to pull data from HTML tables - no matter how clever that is) and
    CSS Style frameworks that take the grind out of positioning and styling every little item.
    Gadgets and Gizmos - YUI3 looks like the one with the most backing - judging from YUI2 - have to keep and eye on that.
    Let's hope Adobe have finally put back some functionality for php mysql developers with CS5
    and the the wilderness that DW has been in for the last couple of years grows some strong roots
    best regards
    Paul Taylor
