Need an experienced coder to write iPhone app locally-KC

I am looking for an experienced coder to write an iPhone app. here in K.C. MO. I am starting to think that they don't exist. Extremely hard to find. Are most of you developers in business for yourself or working for a company? Just wondering. And you KC peeps-post back and we'll talk.

On one hand, I think it violates the spirit, if not the letter, of the Apple Discussions Terms of Use. I thought about reporting it, but didn't. Then I thought about posting a clarification question on the Feedback forum, but didn't.
It is definitely a grey area. There are lots of new iPhone programmers here and they may need work. If people start posting job ads here that means that people are noticing and are coming to Apple to recruit programmers. Programmers coming here looking for a job ad might also contribute questions and/or answers.
How come Apple's most frivolous device is also the most profitable and the only one to ever get any corporate attention and respect? But I digress.
I do not think this is good venue for finding a programmer in Kansas City. I know of at least 2 large universities in the area with any number of computer science students who would be thrilled to get some iPhone experience. Get in contact with the career development offices of those universities. If you want someone experienced, they are more likely to be older and more likely to read the local paper. <hint, hint> If you want an experienced iPhone programmer, that will be easier still. Put an ad in SF, BOS, NYC, or Denver Craigslist and offer $250K and a free house. You think I'm joking
Oh, and by the way, sometimes I troll SF, BOS, NYC, and Denver Craigslist and flag any non-local jobs as "miscategoried"

Try closing the App Store app via the iPad's taskbar and then do a soft-reset and see if you can install it after the iPad has restarted. To close the App Store : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the App Store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
Soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Is there a way to view the source code of existing iPhone Apps?

The files uploaded to the iTunes store are only those included in the .app package. These include all the resources, so all the .nib files would be there, but there's no source code in that package as far as I know. You can view the package you would upload by expanding the Product folder in the Xcode Groups & Files tree. Then Ctrl-click on the .app icon, select Reveal in Finder, Ctrl-click on the .app package and select Show Package Contents.
Lots of independent developers (as distinct from corporation employees) are willing to share their knowledge including excerpts from their code, and that's what this forum is all about. I've pasted lots of source code from my app into the answers I've provided in this forum. If you contact a developer privately, I think it would be better to ask "How did you do that?" instead of asking for the complete source code. But there are lots of people out there who enjoy teaching others even more than protecting their ideas. My only disappointment in this forum is that many (but certainly not all!!) are really good at saying "please", but seem to have some language problem with "thank you".

Good question. No, you do not.
The only reason you would need the "Find My iPhone" app on your iPhone would be to find a different iPhone (or iPad) on this particular iPhone.
Right now, with no additional app on your iPhone, if lost, you could find it from a computer or other device by simply logging into iCloud using your Apple ID and password.

There is no such thing as an unlock code for an iPhone. It's done by restoring the phone using iTunes

The app is only for locating another iOS device from the one the app is installed upon.
If you didn't setup the iCloud account and turn Find my iPhone on in the settings BEFORE the phone was stolen, then you can't track it now or activate it remotely.

You need to use the Find My iPhone app (in the itunes store - free). When invoking it on a device, you enter the ID password of the account the lost device is connected to. You can also use a computer's browser and log into icloud.com.

IPhone app crash diagnosis

I have one user of my app who reports that she sees the default bitmap for 2-3 seconds and then goes straight back to the home screen: in other words, my app is silently terminating right at the start.
Would a crash cause this - or would a crash also display some sort of error message?
Is any diagnostic information extractable afterwards - even not-very-useful diagnostic information?

You've got it right--your app is crashing on startup. It's probably generating a crash report, but I don't know what Apple does with them.
Some things to think about:
1. Does the user have a different device type? For example, does she have an iPod touch and you only tested with iPhones? Or the user has a 3G and you only tested with an EDGE model? Does the user have push Exchange enabled when you didn't in testing?
2. How about languages and locales? Were there any background apps running and using resources, like iPod? Is there anything else odd about the device--is it unlocked or jailbroken, for example? (Jailbroken phones might have background apps using resources.)
3. Look at your code closely. Are there any possible race conditions? (That's where two parts of the program are trying to operate on the same object at the same time, and depending on the order in which they get to act, the program will either succeed or crash.)
4. Look very closely at how you use memory during initialization. In particular, try running your code under Guard Malloc; try it out with Instruments's leak-detection mode; and see if you can turn on zombie objects. Memory management bugs are a code smell; they often indicate deeper problems.
5. If all else fails, just go ahead and refactor the code in your application's launch. No code is ever perfect, especially code in an iPhone app this close to the App Store's launch. Your spring cleaning might turn something up.

You do not need to install the "Find My iPhone" App.
If you had "Find My iPad" enabled in Settings > iCloud then you may be able to locate it. If not, you cannot locate it.
If it was enabled then you can try locating it via http://icloud.com on a computer or the App "Find My iPhone" on another iDevice. Note: this will only work if your device is connected to a network and the device hasn't already been restored as new and/or "Find My iPad" has not been disabled on it. Note: Disabling "Find My iPad" is much more difficult in iOS 7.
If you think that your device was stolen rather than lost then you should report it to the police. In either case you should contact your carrier, change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

Touch or tap the field that you want to use/select and it should get a box around it ; then double-tap that field to activate/type it. Once you've entered your password you can do the same (i.e. touch to select, double-tap to activate) to gradually get into Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off.
So to enter your passcode you first need to tap the 'slide to unlock' button to hightlight it (it should get a box around it), then double-tap it to unlock it. Then for your passcode tap the digit that you want and it should get a box around it; then double-tap that digit to type it; and similar for the other three digits in your passcode.
The manual (http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad) also that you should be able to switch voice-over off by connecting to your computer's iTunes :
Turn VoiceOver on or off in iTunes: Select iPad in the iTunes sidebar. In the Options section of the Summary pane, click Configure Universal Access. Select VoiceOver, then click OK.
So select Configure Universal Access at the bottom of the Summary tab and set Seeing to Neither

IPhone app - Whisper app & its data/pin code

First let me thank you in advance for reading this question thoroughly and submitting decent responses....with that said, here's my dilemma:
I downloaded an app called "whisper" about 6 months ago or so and used it for a week before deleting it from my phone and itunes library. A few days ago i decided to redownload the app to my phone. Upon opening the app a "pin code" is requested which I set once upon downloading the app (6 months ago) and then disabled, so I have no idea what the pin code might be (trust me i've tried all my usual combinations).
So here's my objective:
I'd like to reinstall the app as if i've never used it and begin from scratch (set up a new name, new pin code, etc.) I do not need any of my old data so a blank slate would be wonderful.
My problem:
using my apple ID to download the app, each time i install the app on my phone it brings back my last settings and therefore requires that i put in my previous pin code to use the app, and since i have no idea what this might be, I'm stuck.
Things I've tried.....
Deleting the app from my iTunes library completely (moving it to the trash) and the redownloading the app on my phone.
Deleting the app from my phone, clearing the data associated with it, and then reinstalling.
Resetting the iPhone completely (erase all content and settings), and reinstalling every single app, song, etc.
Uninstalling the app and backing up the phone without the app, restoring to that backup, and then downloading the app.
Uninstalling the app and syncing my phone without the app, then installing the app.
My thoughts:
It seems the data and login is associated with my apple ID and therefore each time i download the app (and must input my apple ID to do so) the app seems to automatically reinstall all of my previous settings.
My question:
How can i get a clean slate? The only alternative i can think of is to create a fresh apple ID and download the app again as well as all my older apps (or perhaps just this Whisper app)
PLEASE NOTE:
Whisper does not have a support forum or way to reset a password. I have submitted a request for a pin reset through their customer service department but have not heard anything back in the last month.
Any constructive thoughts Apple fans?

Here's the solution:
the WHISPER app uses the IMEI or UDID of the device NOT the apple ID to restore data.
If you are using iOS 7 beta1, this means you've downloaded the ONE released ipsw (software for your iPhone) and it's registered to apple...hence the same username, "Atlas," appearing again and again no matter what you do.
This issue is being worked on by the whisper development team and should be fixed in the coming weeks.
If you're using iOS 6.1.x, there's a very easy way to reset the app and your pin code.
Follow these instructions...
delete the whisper app from your phone.
re-install Whisper App.
create a whisper.
Upon creation, you will be asked to set a new 4-digit passcode.
All of your previous Whispers should re-appear.
As i've basically answered my own question, i'm going to mark this discussion as dead/solved.
