Need an expert : How to crop some pictures in a Photoshop batch?

Hi everybody,
Here is my scripting problem.
I have scanned a lot of slides and negatives with a specific scanner.
Before to scan, I haven't limited the image to strict necessary selection.
In consequence, I have thousands of photos which have 1, 2, 3 or sometime 4 borders black or white around the picture that I would like to delete.
I would like to obtain some full images without any border (even if a little part of the picture is lost during the operation).
For me, a manual cropping is too long to realize on each photo.
I would like to script this action with a photoshop batch...but how to do???
I don't want to reduce the picture without to be sure that there is some black or white on the border.
I don't want to sacrifice 10% of the picture if it is not necessary.
Pictures are not exactly on the same position on each image...it is the problem.
Is there a function which can detect these borders to crop the picture to the exact maximum size?
An example is probably better than my poor english...look at example.jpg please (I just would like to obtain the image in the red selection after the script)

I have done many test with the function Crop and Straighten (in File/Auto) but...this feature doesn't seems to work?!!
I have tested with 1 and more photos in the zone, with a white or a black background and on a flat image...but the feature doesn't detect any picture?
I don't understand why.
Any idea?

Does anyone know how to crop a picture without leaving room?

Is it possible to crop out edges of your video in order fix the composition of your shot?
I do this with photo software, but can't figure it out with Final Cut Pro, nor can I even be sure that's it's possible to begin with.
I can cut the picture, but it leaves the black area in the frame afterwards... I basically want to crop it by zooming in a bit....

Hi,
Select the canvas in FCP and you clip in the timeline>press the key W and the image+wireframe (crossed white lines) will appear in the canvas. Now drag outwards (inwards if needed) the corners of the wireframe and resize your frame in the canvas (Press W twice when you are done to go back to image with no wireframe).

Getting message about having LR5 already open SO I need to know how to get my pictures back-after export.

I have been working on photo's and doing the export the laptop freezes up on me, so I have to shut down everything and re-open. When I go to open LR5 back up I get an error message saying that there is LR already open and that I have to open a new folder - Since I have editing all (about 900 pictures) - is there a way of getting those back Instead of having to RE-DO all of them. Which is what I am **** right now and it is VERY hard for me.
I would Love to get a answer on how I can get the photo's back instead of having to re-do all of them again. THIS has happening a few times to me now and I don't like it.
I hope that this makes sense - I would just love an answer..

okay Error message is as follows - pop up window has confirm on the top of
it. The lightroom catalog named "Lightroom 6 Catalog" cannot be opened
because another applications already has it opened. Button Choose a
different catalog, Continue or exit. I have hit all the buttons before and
the ONLY thing that works is to Choose a different catalog and open a new

Need Help quick: how to retrieve screenshot pictur...

I have a Samsung laptop qx410 and the power system went out. I have taken it to best buy and the repair charges are extremly high. MY problem is that i have screenshots of my friend who passed away on it and i was wondering how i can access those pictures. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Pictures/images/screenshots are generally located in the following default folders:
C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\AppData\Roaming\Skype\YourSkypeName\Pictures
C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\AppData\Roaming\Skype\My Skype Received Files
It would be wise just to backup/retrieve the following folder (with subfolders):
C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\AppData\Roaming\Skype
If you are unable to access that folder you might have to reset Windows permissions on that folder to regain access.
While you have the HDD out of the computer you might as well try to resolve the main issue by performing a basic check disk (chkdsk). If it's able to resolve the errors on the drive you might be able to slip it back into your computer and boot it up.

How to move some pictures folders outside library?

Because I've stopped iphoto to manage my files, but I've just processed so many photos, but I wish to maintain every pics in the same locations outside iphoto library to use also with Lightroom. But now I've over 200gb of pictures in my personal folder, but 13gb are duplicated inside iphoto library.

Deleting the folders and reimportings it's not possible because faces and locations I just typed.

I've tried... it mantains the geo informations, the name of files, but not the facies...
But it's just an 50% of the works!

The photo files are not stored in Photoshop Elements. They are disk wherever you put them.
To upload to Facebook, do the following:
Open Facebook
At the top, click on "Photos/Videos"
Click on "Upload Photos".
Point to where your files are on disk.

How come CS4 Bridge does not offer Photoshop batch operations?

I have had tons of problems with CS4 on my desktop PC but seem to have most of them resolved with a new video card and updated driver except this one. If it matters I'm running Windows XP service pack 3, 4gb of RAM of which 3.4 is available. It has an 2.67 GHz Intel Core2Duo cpu.
While in Bridge, under the "tools" menu, there no longer appears an option for batch operations such as I had with CS3. In CS3 it was the bottom option of all those listed. The only batch operation offered in CS4 is batch rename. I want to run Photoshop actions on multiple images selected in Bridge but cannot since this option is not being offered.
I have deleted preferences and rebuilt them several times, and uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop itself so many times that the CD is almost worn out. I have also upgraded CS4 to the latest upgrade on the Adobe site, 11.0.1.
I've done everything I can find to do but still not fixed. Anybody out there know the answer? This has not been a smooth transition and is very frustrating.

OK, let's see how good you REALLY are...here's a new one. Well actually not
a new one, but it went away for so long I thought all the other things I've
done corrected it (CS4 update and video driver update). It's back with a
vengeance.
The brush tool stops working for no apparent reason. If I shut down
Photoshop and restart, it works. As long as I'm working on an image, it
works. Sometimes it will continue to work for several images. Other times
it will not work on the very next image opened. Earlier today it worked
fine for multiple images until I printed some, then stopped. I thought it
had something to do with printing so I shut down, restarted and worked
without making any prints. Again worked OK for a while and then stopped.
This is true for all brush type tools...paintbrush, clone, healing, etc. It
seemed like if I opened files directly from Photoshop instead of via bridge
that I had more success but now this evening it will only allow me to work
on a single image. If I close an image and open a new one, no brush
function no matter how I open it. This is just the way it acted up before
but then went dormant as I noted above.
There is no pattern or repeatability to it that can help me home in. By
that I mean, tomorrow it may indeed work fine for hours and then go wacky
again or it may go wacky on the first image. I thought it may have been a
RAM or some other cumulative type problem but this is shot down by the fact
that it will at times stop working immediately while other times work for a
long time.
I'm at the point where the only thing I can think of is it must be the
computer. I installed CS4 on an old clunky laptop and it works fine. I
installed the 30 day free version on this e-mail computer just as a test and
again it worked fine. On my super duper photo editing PC, it just won't go.
I didn't realize that I'd have to add the cost of a new computer into the
cost of upgrading to CS4 because the computer is not that old and definitely
not a clunker as noted in my original post. I'm already out about $200 for
two new video cards and still no luck.
