Need an installation disk for Pavillion A6110

Fathers computer completely crashed.
As a last ditch attempt we need an installation disk for a desktop Pavillion a6110 so that we can clear everything and start again. Icons have disappeared off desktop and the only thing visible is the Start button. Operating system is Windows Vista.

Can't crete recovery disk or flashdrive for HP pavillion 15 n0 28 US 243. Computer recognizes media but

I am needing the recovery disks for a Satellite 2445-S305. I know this is an old one but still serves its purpose. I just tried to reload back to factory with my disks but they are in bad shape and not working! I hope someone can help me out. I own the laptop and it has the COA for XP home and I have the original disks. I can offer proof that I am not trying to scam and get the OS for free. Reason for going back to factory is that when I load XP PRO the device manager show one "unknown device" and I can not solve this. I have run across this before in the past and found a solution but I do not remember what it took to solve. Thanks for any help!

I purchased in Reunion Island (French Territory) but now live in Palau (US Territory). I had a shop upgrade from Vista to 7 but I didn't know they installed non-genuine version 7. I functions poorly and I just want to restore. I no longer live in country where the pirate copy was installed, so can't go back to get fixed (if possible). If you have the product key from the CA sticker on the bottom of the notebook, you can download a legal copy of a windows 7 install disc, this will get windows installed, but not the HP drivers and software. Drivers and some software can be found on the HP website.

I would like to know if any forum members has a set of recovery disks or thumbdrive that could be loaned, rented, or sold to me. I am attempting to get this aging widescreen laptop to work again. I could also send you 3 new blank disks to copy your recovery disks to send back to me. Or I could send you a new blank thumbdrive, but I do not know if it will boot from USB port. I can pay you for this favor.
I bought it just before HP switched to Vista, so it ran XP, when it ran. However, I don't think that's an issue since the restore media replaces the operating system as well.
I am NOT able to create recovery disks from the HD. The machine is totally messed up. HP has no copies of any kind of restore media left. Running Restore media is my last chance. Have tried everything else.
If you could possibly help me out. I would be forever grateful. Please contact me directly if possible. Or thru the forum.

You can order a replacement set of Recovery Discs using the link below.

However your notebook should be able to boot from usb flash drive - unless you've already done so, try the following
Shut down the notebook.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu.
Insert the Recovery USB into a USB 2.0 port.
Select Boot options ( f9 ) and see if the usb drive is now detected - if it is, use the arrow keys to select it and hit enter.

Do I need to encrypts backup disk for Time Machine to encrypt backups?

I have a new LaCie disk that I want to dedicate as my backup. In case it is ever stolen, I don't want others to be able to retrieve files.
I've seen screen shots where Time Machine has a checkbox "Encrypt backups". This seems like what I want, right?
But I'm first erasing the disk to get it ready for backups. Do I choose:
"Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" or
"Mac OS Extended (Journaled, Encrypted)"
I.e. will the option in Time Machine not appear unless I format the drive as encrypted?

Need to add Hard Disk for backup purposes

Hi all,
I'm new here and really new to Netware. I'm just beginning to get involved with Netware Servers (V 6.5) and am trying to add hard disks to a server for backup purposes. I have two SCSI hard disks to add to this server and wish to name them backup_1 and backup_2. Using the Backup Exec software we have a site license. I want to be able to do an incremental backup Monday thru Thursday and a full back up on Friday on each disk alternating out the disks weekly with one of the disks being off site while the other is in service.
I can add the new drive in a Hot manner and then must go through configuring the disk.....during the configuration I'm asked if I want the disk to be a part of a pool or something to that effect. What do I want to do here?
Actually I'd like to know just what is a pool technically? I've got several books on Netware and none of them has painted me a clear picture of just what a pool is.
I'm kind of excited to be learning about Netware I hope you all can bear with me as I stumble through this.

A pool is a structure between a volume and a partition. It allows, for instance, you to have multiple volumes in a pool, each of which can dynamically grow to use unallocated space within the pool on demand.

In your situation they are of no extra use to you, what you do is create a partition on each of those new disks, and create a volume on each and let it (I assume you are using NSSMU on the console) automatically create an underlying pool for each of those volumes.

For normal computer, we only have Windows 85, 98, XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and now Windows 8.1. Probably you need a recovery discs set for your machine. Generally, it's ok to install on two machines as long as they are both yours and you only use one version at a time.

In need of system disks for HD repair

The machine's been a little slow lately, so I randomly decided to "verify disk" in disk utility and got this response:

Checking Catalog hierarchy.

I realize that I need to repair the disk from another volume. I purchased this computer 2 years ago from a private seller, and do not have the original system disks. Do I need OS 10.3 to do this since Tiger is only an upgrade? Do I need just the DVD or what? And where can I obtain these disks? Should I just head straight to DiskWarrior instead? Thanks

What are the capabilities of the retail disks? Am I able to do a clean install from them if necessary, or would I need disks with my specific build number for that? Some people on craigslist are selling the retail disks for 10.4, but I believe its just the DVD. Ideally I know I should have both disks, but in this event can I be able to buy only the one I need? The only disks that I see sold privately are build-specific sets....just seems a little much to spend 300 bucks for the Tiger box just for volume repair. Just making sure before any purchases. Thanks

Unable to boot from install disk for needed disk repair

Hi- I need to repair my disk, but haven't been able to boot from the DVD. When I've tried (several times), I get a black screen with a long error message, ending in something like "hanging here." Any advice?

That is a kernel panic. Kernel panics on startup from an installer disc mean one of two things usually: 1. You are using an installer disc with an OS version that is not able to boot the computer model you have. Usually the version is too early for the model; 2. There's a serious hardware problem such as a dead hard drive or motherboard problem.
