    hi,
    in BOM ,
setup --> Parameters, in create lower level supply attribute
change it from NO to Auto created configuration items only or autocreated configuration with ATO items.
then book sales order and proceed.
when the job order is created for final assembly, it will create job order for sub assembly also which will get reserved to the sales order no.
pls check it and give feedback.

  • Oracle apps functional career

    Hello all,
I am preparing myself for a career as a Oracle apps functional consultant in supply chain domain. Based on your experience what is the best way/process to get ready for this? Do I need to get trained in some institute or else buy some books and practice religiously? please suggest.
Main objective: To feel comfortable and confident from the day I start working in this whole new world of Oracl apps.
please provide your inputs. No prizes for guessing the value of your suggestions.

    Hi
    New Oracle novice
The better way to learn Oracle application (any module) is if you have a Domain Knowledge or experience and the company where u r seeking this domain experience should have implemented the ERP suit then that is the real kind of experience that how its works for your environment. Environment could be Manufacturing(Descrete/Process), Financials, Human Resource, or Distribution wherein the product Oracle application is mapped.
Basically Oracle application is suited for any kind of industry in the World and can be mapped upto 85% and the remaining 15% of mapping can be done by means of Customization or any workarounds.
To become more elobarative and professional you need to go thru the documents/pdfs and metalink information....etc., so that any industry that you can understand can Map the same into Oracle apps.
Hope this little bit clear to you.
    Thanks

  • Responsibilities and duties of oracle apps functional consultant in support project

Dear Gurus and Experience apps functional consultants,
Experienced apps functional consultants and Gurus, Please kindly tell me.
" what are the complete set of responsibilities and duties of a oracle apps functional consultant in support project?"
    Thanking You,
    Abdul Baseer

    Abdul Baseer,
I'm not a functional consultant but what I would suggest is querying projects responsibilities (Security > Responsibility > Define) "search for %Project%" and see which one should be assigned to your projects users.
    Thanks,

    Imran,
Personally, I would recommend Oracle University training over any other personal training. Oracle provides a “100% Student Satisfaction” which means if you are not satisfied with your learning experience you can request a free retake of the same class title within 90 days & within 50 miles of their original class.

I believe the best way to learn is to have your own vision demo instance and start reading Oracle documentation. In addition, Oracle blogs and Metalink are also good source of information. I must also admit that I have learned a lot through this forum, so you can go through old threads and read about others experiences. You can also post your question and will definitely get an answer.

  • Oracle Apps Functional Guidance

    Hi Guru's,
Currently i am working as a Oracle Apps Technical Consultant from past 4 years.
Now i am planning to move SCM Functional side ( SCM Functional Consultant ). Is it right decision.? Please suggest me....

Hard to answer the question. It depends on your experience level, aptitude and your personal likings.
But typically that is the path taken by most techno-functional consultants.
It is important to make sure you work with the business and understand various business processes. That will make you platform independent.
If you are really interested in functional work in Supply chain area, you can look into getting CSCP or CPIM certifications. They are a bit pricey and may not offer a great value for money. However, some folks find them very useful.
    Hope this helps

  • Restrict Oracle Apps Functionality

Is it possible to disable the Help-->Diagnostics functionality of Oracle EBS for specific users. We want to prevent the end users from accessing this functionality? One way of doing this is to change the apps password periodically.but. what I want to know is apart from changing password, is there any alternative way of implementing this ?
    Regards,

    Hi;
According to these notes setting profile option 'Utilities: Diagnostics' to No, prompts for the apps password, but what we want to know is whether we can disable the Help-->Diagnostics option for specific users ??The users should not be able to use this functionality ?there are 2 profiles
    1) Utilities : Diagnostics --> to protect with apps password
    2) Hide Diagnostics menu entry --> to show and hide the menu

  • Installation of Oracle APPS 11 on Windows XP Professional

    Dear all,
I downloaded all the zip files needed for Oracle APPS 11 from edelivery.oracle.com
Now I'm trying to install the package but I get stuck on an error. I already installed DeVC++ (in folder C:\VC98) and installed ActivePerl.
During rapidwiz alle the zipfiles are being unzipped and after that I get the following error:
RW50004: Error code received when running external process. Check log file for details.
Running database install driver for VIS instance
The log file shows me the following:
Hope you can help me with this.
    Greetings,

  • How to Process flat File in Oracle Apps through Concurrent Program

    Hello Everyone,
My client has a request, to process a bank file (Lockbox) which is a flat file that will be copied on UNIX box and I will have to create a new concurrent request that will process this flat file and will update receipt information in Oracle Apps database tables.
Could you please suggest, if there are any other standard Oracle Apps functions (Example FND) available which can be used through Concurrent program that can be used to open a file from a particular directory and can be read from the flat file and after processing this file can be closed.
Please let me know, if you have a small example, that would help me a lot.
    Thanks

There are base concurrent programs in Accts Receivable that do consume lockbox flat files. Pl see the AR Setup/User Guides at
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B40089_10/current/html/docset.html
