Need App for imovie to DVD

Looking for the best app to use to burn the movie I spent forever making in iMovie to a DVD since iDVD doesn't exist anymore...
ANYONE??  Please!

You can still find iDVD available for download:
http://apple-idvd.en.softonic.com/mac
http://download.cnet.com/Apple-iDVD/3000-7970_4-20628.html
Those may or may not work. Also you can search the MacAppStore. Just searching "dvd burn" brought up these results:

  • What app do I need to burn imovies to dvd

I have a new imac - no internal superdrive- I bought a stand alone. I need to burn imovies to dvd. Idvd no longer works with new imac, I purchased Toast - that does not work, I downloaded Free DVD creator - that does not work either. I have been following the procedures but the dvds can not be played on my tv dvd player.

Use Verbatim like babowa suggested and burn at the slowest speed available. That will give you the best qualtiy video DVD. If you find you want to create a video DVD with more style than what Toast provides consider using iDVD.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailier like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.
Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  Select Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • App for converting standard DVDs to MP4 for Iphone

I have used Handbrake to convert standard DVDs to MP$ for my Iphone, but have run into a problem with the 64-bit version.  I cannot go back to 32-bit version.  Is this the best app for this conversion?  If so, should I reinstall?

Are these "home made" DVDs, that is, DVDs without copy protection? Or are they commercial video DVDs?  If you're referring to commercial and hence copy-protected video DVDs, breaking the copy protection, which would be necessary to copy the videos from the DVD and convert them, is illegal in the US (and other countries), so we're not allowed to discuss it here.
You may want to post in the Handbreak forums in either case.
    Regards.

  • Need app. for recovering photos from a reformatted CF card.

Are there any other apps. for recovering photos from a reformatted CF card besides Lexars Image Rescue?

    Don:
I've used MediaRECOVER with great success.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Need app for burning DVD on new iMac using iMovie

I have a new 64 bit iMac with optional external DVD drive.  I want to burn DVDs with the iMovie projects that recognize the chapters I entered in the new iMovie.  Basically, I want to do what I used to do on my old 32 bit iMac with the internal drive using the combination of iDVD and iMovie.

mChapters available from the App Store, will add chapters to the output file from iMovie. In the Finder, you may have to change the move file's extension from "mp4" to "m4v" as older Quicktime applications and perhaps some newer DVD creators may not recognize a chapter track in an mp4 container.
In any event, the mChapters application will allow you to visually add chapters and name them as you like. You can save the file in-place (i.e. you do not have to create a new output file--just save to the existing movie file) which is quick. It is irritating that iMovie no longer has chapter markers, but this little application does not add much time to the move creation process.
BTW, I have nothing to do with mChapters. I tried several applications, free and otherwise, until I settled on this one for my needs.

  • I need to play iMovie on dvd player

I've created my movie on iMovie, saved it to disc.  When I put it in a DVD player, it wouldn't play.
What else do I need to do?

    Hi
You've created a DATA-DVD - and it will not play in any DVD-player - What You need to create is a Video-DVD and to do such You need a DVD-authoring program as iDVD or Roxio Toast.
There are no way around this.

  • Alternative app for Imovie for Iphone 4

Hello, iphone 4 cannot run ios 8, therefore i cannot use imovie. Does anybody know a good alternative? It must be easy, for its for a kid to make a vlog. It has to contain some nice effects and free choice of witch parts of a movie. Thanks!

    Hi,
It is possible to limit the app to specific device features. For example if you require camera access or better graphics support, you can use UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities and add it to your -app.xml file.
Here's info on what values you can set for this key: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/General/Reference/InfoPlistKeyRefere nce/Articles/iPhoneOSKeys.html
Within the -app.xml file there is a tag called <iPhone> and inside there is another called <InfoAdditions> There you see where it sets the value for UIDeviceFamily. Below the UIDeviceFamily tag you can add the UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities tag.
For example if you require front camera support you would add:
    <key>UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities</key>
    <dict>
         <key>front-facing-camera</key>
         <true/>
    </dict>
Note that when you edit the -app.xml file, it may be overwritten if you use something like Flash CS5 extension where it updates the file when you change values in the iOS properties panel.
    Good luck,
    iBrent

  • Need driver for Lacie CD/DVD Recorder in iTunes "Mac OS X 10.3.9"

I installed an internal LaCie CD/DVD Recorder (E-IDE/ATAPI) into my Dual 1.42GHz Power PC G4. iTunes refuses to recognize this make or model and won't allow me to burn CDs from iTunes.
This keeps me from being able to burn iTunes-purchased songs, or submitting track listings for compilation discs.
Is there an appropriate driver out there somewhere, or any other course of action I can take? (All I found while searching was LaCie drivers for Mac OSX 10.1.5 (As oppossed to Mac OSX 10.3.9 like I need.)
    Much obliged!
    1.42 GHz Power PC G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

  • Is there any kind of TIME CODE app for iMovie?

It would be so much easier to edit, if you had a time code on, especially, things like long interviews. Am I missing something? It seems so obvious that this would be very useful. I have a Sony AVCHD camcorder, and the clock is set. Is there a data code I should be seeing, or is there a way to add it to the events?
    Thank you.

There is no professional time code as in Final Cut Pro.
However, you can see the time metadata by clicking View/Display Playhead Information. When you cursor over your event, you will see the timecodes.
Also, it is helpful to go into iMovie/Preferences and put a check next to "Display Time as hh:mm:ss:frames". This lets you edit to the nearest frame (1/30th of a second). Without this checked you can only edit to the nearest tenth.
For long interviews, be sure to check out the [Cutaway function.|http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/imovie_09stone.html#cutaway%20pip]

  • Camera w/ 1080P Video That Doesn't Need Conversion for iMovie?

I've been using a Panasonic FZ-100 to shoot video, but I'm tired of having to convert the AVCHD MTS files with iSkysoft or Turbo.264 so I can edit the footage in iMovie. Does anyone know any other still cameras that do 1080P video in a format that I can edit with iMovie without having to convert it? That would save so much time for me.

I have this same issue. Updated to 8.0.2 but no bueno. Haven't found a workaround either.

  • My i tunes account keeps telling me to enter valid security code from the back of my CC. i do and it keeps saying to enter it. i tried like 3 differnt cards. pls help cause i need apps for my new ipad3. thx

hello, my itunes account keeps telling me to enter  a valid security code from the back of my CC. i do and it keeps saying to enter a valid one. i tried 3 differnt cards???? pls helppppp

Usually there is some subtle difference other than the security code. E.g. your bank/credit card company says you live on Easy Street but you wrote Easy St. Compare your bank/credit card statement with the information you are trying to give Apple. If they don't match, for any reason, validation will fail with the same error message. No point giving the potential ID thief clues is there?

  • Big Problem! How can I take a DV [for iMovie] from DVD VOB files using Tost

    Hi there,
I have a Toster 7, copy all DVD VOB [generate on a Sony 305 DVD] files to my Hard Disc and place them on the Toster browser... when I click to export them it just export part of my VOBs... just the first record video from the VOBs... how can I export all videos?
Please help me, it will save my life!
    Tks in advance,
    Ricardo

ahh, you try one of the "dirty tricks"..
    a) you have to select a .vob before hitting Apple-K
    b) your disk has to be "finalized" in yuur camera... read its manual how to accomplish that....
