ODBC Drivers for Oracle 8.1.6 Doesn't work on Windows ME

Hello. I am in the need of running some aplications (ArcView, in fact) that needs connection to an Oracle 8.1.6 installed on a sun ultra machine. My client machine runs that awful Windows ME.
The matter is that i've tried installing the Oracle 8i Client, the Oracle 8i Enterprise Manager, and even the Oracle Enterprise Manager Cache (that had worked to me earlier over Win98).
All of that clients use the Oracle Universal Installer (Java-Based) and when is time for choose the oracle_home for installation that doesn't appear, just the box ready for enter the destination path. I did that, the installer reads the package list and then there are en error message: "There was a problem in the staging area. Please check the source an destination paths are correct". And, of course, that paths are good. Trying to install just the odbc driver (downloaded), causes the same. Anyway the driver needs the net client.
I've tried installing Oracle 8 client (8.0.4), but the drivers doesn't work at all.
the microsoft ODBC driver is just for 7.3 versions of Oracle, and is too out of date for my purposes.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Last I heard, the Oracle client wasn't certified on Windows ME. There are folks who have posted to the Oracle newsgroups with registry hacks to work around the problem if you're interested in going down that path.

You can use the Realtek Audio drivers directly from the realtek site.
Accept the agreement. Download either the 1st or 2nd driver on the list depending on whether or not you installed W7 32 or 64 bit.

Need sound drivers for a Pavillion dv8309us running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-Bit OS. I'm getting "no audio output device is installed" error after trying various different drivers. Sometimes the driver will install and I'll reboot, but to no avail I end up with the same error and a red X over the speaker in the system tray. I've tried Realtek drivers and Conexant drivers from HP. When I run Windows upgrade advisor it recognizes the problem, but Microsoft doesn't offer a compatible driver. At this point I'm very desperate considering everything else works fine and I don't want to go back too XP Media Center. If there is anything you can do to help, it would be greatly appreciated. I never tried to force a driver but I think it can be done. I seeing that in some threads.

Need WXP drivers for Satellite A100 (PSAA9)

Hiya,
I've had to re-install Windows XP on my laptop. I don't have the Toshiba drivers CD though.
So I came here to get the drivers but I've no idea which driver goes with which hardware in my Device Manager.
Here's what I need the drivers for under Device Manager...
Ethernet Controller
Mass Storage Controller
Network Controller
PCI Device
PCI Device (again)
SM Bus Controller
Can anyone advise which specific driver I need for each?

...that 114 different items! And I can see a lot of those items are not mandatory and/or are not drivers. More to point though, it does not solve my problem of needing to know the names of the drivers I should download (as presented on the downloads page) in order to fix my Driver Manager problems?

I had to reformat my laptop and since Vista is still a mediocre at best OS, I decided to switch back to XP. Unfortunately, it seems as though HP has no audio drivers for this operating system. Is there any known way to get audio working on a dv7t-1200 under windows XP? Thank you in advance

I was just wondering if there are any other internet/online channels I can get for Vista Media Center?
I only have about 9 at the moment, and would like preferby free ones. I don't have satelite or cable tv so would like online ones, is there anywhere that I can get sky one without a satellite dish as prison breaks on soon.

I dont think you will be able to find a free Sky One channel in the internet.
But Im not expert and this is only my personal opinion.
If you dont have a satellite or cable TV you could buy a DVB-T TV tuner and maybe then you will be able to receive more TV channels using MCE ;)

After it loads, Command + F to find information regarding the drivers.

Sorry I thought this new notebook is just Vista preinstalled. Other way I do not understand why you need WXP drivers when you can install recovery image that contains all necessary drivers, tools and utilities. As I can see WXP Pro should be preinstalled on this notebook. Is it not good enough for your work?

Usually if you have European model you should use stuff designed for European models but you can use offered drivers from Canadian download page.

Does your sound device show up in the device manager with the exclamation mark?
If so, please click on it, then click on the details tab.
Post the top string of characters you see. That string indentifies the manufacturer of the device and the device model.
With that info, hopefully we can find the correct driver for it.
