Need battery status icon app

OK, I am old and can't see as well as the rest of you. I can't read the charge status in the little icon on the iPhone. I would really love an app that I can put on my hone screen that would tell me the percent of charge left in the battery.
Is there anything out there in the void like that? Will any of you devs have pity on the older iPhone users? Your mom and dad could be having the same problem, ya know! Or your poor old grandmother. Have a heart, plz!

No apps, but when you plug your phone into the AC charger the battery level shows right up on the home screen. Maybe you want to keep your charger handy? (Just an idea... Sorry!)

Battery status icon meaning (?)

this seems like a dumb question, but i can't for the life of me find any apple document that explains what the battery status icons mean.
there's one with a lightning bolt and one that looks like a power plug.
i'm assuming that lightning bolt = charging and power plug means it's running off the adapter and the battery is fully charged?
i'm on a new macbook pro now, but the reason i ask is that in my old powerbook it was giving me both readings even while charging, so i'm confused...
probably due to faulty power adapter, which i've gone through like 4 of them....(due to them shorting out because they always seem to be on the wrong side of the computer from where i need to plug it in, and therefore causing connection problems due to the bend in the cord).
can anyone confirm what the icons mean?

the reason i'm asking now is that i have a separate issue that doesn't seem to be a problem yet. my current magsafe adapter's green light seems to go out when it's fully charged, if i wiggle it, it comes back on. but in any case, it charges normally and the battery icons function as they are theoretically supposed.
i live overseas and have converted many of my friends to mac's in the last few years, but everyone seems to have the same problem with these chargers, that the plugs short out near where they connect to the computer, this is due to apple putting the power plug on the side of the machine. many times you have to plug it into a wall on the opposite side, and it bends the cord, and after time it starts to fail.
i don't think it's happened yet to this charger, but i wanted to make sure...i swear that i saw the "plug" icon in my battery status with my old powerbook as it was charging, and the lights didn't correspond to what they were supposed to be.

Battery status icon in menu bar not changing

My battery status icon in my menu bar either does not change it's status at all, or takes a long time to change after I plug in, or unplug, my power cord.
I'm not sure what to even try. I've tried removing it from the bar and adding it back with no luck.
This seems to have happened since the latest Software Update for 10.6.5. I have Build 10H574.

After charging, my indicator stays at 100%. The only way I've found to find out the real status is to put it to sleep, then wake it up again, then stare at it for about 2 or 3 minutes until it refigures the percentage. I got this battery as a Christmas gift and installed it 3 days ago. I calibrated it per instructions. This is very annoying. I can never quite relax because I'm afraid it's about to run down to zero.
I'm on a Macbook Pro pre-2008. My new battery came from the Apple store. It's my 3rd battery on this computer and I've never had this problem before. (I hope you find the answer. I rarely go to the Genius Bar, but I've been there twice this week for other issues--I feel like a knucklehead going back a third time so soon). If I find a solution, I'll try to post it here.

Unknown status icon

This afternoon a previously unseen status icon appeared on my iPone next tothe battery status icon. It rather looks like a telehone handset over two rows of white dots, 4 in the top row and 3 in the bottom row. This icon does not appear to be listed in the iPhone manual.
Does anyone knwo what this is or why it has suddenly appeared?

That's the TTY indicator. Go into Settings > Phone and turn TTY off.

FaceTime:
Check Settings>FaceTime>ON and check Settings>General>Restrictions>FaceTime>ON. There is no icon, on the 4 & 4S FaceTime is accessed through contacts. Go into your Contacts, access the contact you want to FaceTime with and you will see a tab at the bottom of their contact card. You can also access FaceTime by going into your Phone app, select dialling keypad, dial number, press call and an option for FaceTime on the keypad will appear. It should be noted that FaceTime has been removed from iPhones sold in some Middle Eastern countries at the express wish of the respective Governments.
iMessage:

Esprimo U9200 - Battery status problems - Fix Found, Help needed!

After months with this bug, and unsuccessfully searching for a solution, it seems like I found one in the edubuntu wiki.
But I need help, seems this solution is based on the ubuntu distro tools, and since Im not such an advanced user of (Arch) Linux, therefore I don't know how to adapt this solution to Archlinux.

Battery: the BIOS DSDT has a bug, which causes to incorrectly show the Charged and Discharging states. The fix is easy. First we'll get the DSDT table and dissasemble it:
sudo apt-get install iasl
cd
mkdir DSDT
cd DSDT
sudo cat /proc/acpi/dsdt > dsdt.dat
iasl -d dsdt.dat
gedit dsdt.aml
Ok, now you should have your dsdt file open. So let's fix it, look for the following code in Device (BAT0), under the Method (UPBS, 0, NotSerialized) subsection:

So, that's it. What we've done is recompile the DSDT including the fix, moving it into the initramfs and then recompiled the initramfs so that the custom DSDT gets loaded. After rebooting the battery status should be always ok.
I managed to install iaml, disassemble the DSDT from /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/DSDT (and not the pathe the wiki says) and do the changes the wiki says, and recompile it, but Im not really sure of what to do after that.
The commands to make the initramfs and the configuration files I probably need to modify to include my patch are different. Any help on those? I marked the lines I need help with as bold. Thanks.

I found how to do it with initramfs, but I also discovered that custom DSDTs through initramfs are no longer supported since kernel 2.6.30.
So I had to recompile the kernel, including the custom DSDT in the kernel build. Sadly Im not so good with ABS so I just modded the original kernel26 package. IIt works perfectly. hope that sometime soon I ll manage to make a PKGBUILD for a kernel26-u9200 package.

Older version has the option to disable Skype Status and get rid of the Skype icon on Android status bar. But latest 4.4.0.31835 could not disable Skype Status in notifications settings. :/

Please bring back the option to disable the Skype icon on Android status bar. This is the main reason I uninstall Skype. :/
Kudos to the team, the apps is really smooth and fluid to use. Would be nice if you guys are following the Android Design Principles and using Google Cloud Messaging for push notification to improve User Experience and battery life.

Long click on this notification a sub menu having field "App info" would appear goto App Info. You can goto there by "Manage Apps">"Skype" also.
Uncheck Option "Show Notifications" A dialog will open. Don't worry about notifications for now just click OK. Now the notification icon skype has also been removed.
Now simply check "Show notification again". After doing this you would get notifications but skype icon would not be shown in the status bar anymore.
Issue: this is just a trick you need to repeat this every time sign out and sign in again. Mostly you don't do that so no need to worry.

If you are having issues with your iPhone such as you describe, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device

I clicked on the Icon and everything else I could find. Logged out and back in (and of course stuffed it up because now I have multiple duplicates). I opened the helper app and there was no indication of any error message. Went to the iCloud help link - and again nothing about the error or the Exclamation icon.
Seems to be syncing with iPhone as far as I can tell.

Synaptics, acpi issues, battery status

I have a laptop with poor acpi support. The battery status reports correctly for about an hour of use then the icon turns black and acpi -bs shows the batter not to be present. I have heard that this can be fixed by setting up the kernel for EC polling mode instead of IRQ mode. I don't really understand what this means or how to do it though.
I'm running the 2.6.28 kernel.
Another problem I'm having on my laptop is that my xorg.conf has the mouse setup as a USB mouse, while it's actually a touchpad. I've tried configuring it according to the wiki, but any time I try to put anything regarding a touchpad or synaptics in xorg.conf, It ruins my X server and I have to regenerate xorg.conf to get gdm running again. The way the mouse is currently set up I can't use side scrolling.

Also my webcam doesn't work. It's a bisoncam, and I thought the uvcvideo module was supposed to work for them but it doesn't seem to. "dmesg | grep video" seems to detect it, but I can't get any webcam apps to load.

I have the Jawbone ICON. It works pretty well and it also shows the battery meter on the top of the iPhone screen.

Storage 6180 - Both controller Battery status is Learning

I have face the problem in 6180, battery not charging. So i have reset the controller. After reset the controller, controller battery is charged and alarm is cleared. But both controller battery status is showing learning. Kindly suggest.

AnwarA non authorative 'guess' is that the controller is attempting to learn the rate of discharge of the battery. It needs a little time (maybe quite a few hours, even a day) to do this.
Batteries are a weak spot of things.
Get prepared to replace the battery .... otherwise I suspect (and I know not the 6180 specifically and I am not bothered to look it up, you can as well as I), the appliance may degrade and run a little slower.

I had purchased HP Laptop dv4-1211 TU in India in 2009. Now i stay in US. Recently few days back, i checked a option " HP Battery Check" in my laptop. When clicked it said my battery status is "Weak". I didn't bother much. But today when i checked it back it said " Replace". How do i go about this?
My queries are:
1. Is it safe to use my laptop in this condition?
2. Battery gets heated up too much after this, so do i need to replace with a new one or can i plug in and use it, i.e i meant on AC power and not battery alone?

Hi sweety2222!: most laptops that use batteries can also use AC as well
but to be sure I'd check the manual the manual will also tell you if you can replace it, the type of battery & how to replace it as well
