Good Question...
Usually if the systems are connect to each other, the objects move from one system to other when the transports are released in background, That to depends on whether they have to be imported into the target system immediately or every 1hr(time frame) is defined by the basis team as per the requirement.
But if the systems are not connected, then after you release the transport request, the basis team will export the log/data files from the source system corresponding to the transport and import back to the target system. This is manual process and is similar to the automated process listed above.
Basis team uses from transaction to export and import these files..and i am not aware of them. Please get in touch with your basis team for the same.

Either - if you need the 'ultimate' in portability, buy the Air. But whichever you buy, make sure that you max out the RAM and the storage as neither the Air or the Retina MacBook Pro are user upgradeable.

Hmmm. It seems a bit odd to be creating a 'forecasting-of-material-procurement' tool, when SAP has so many already built in, either within ERP or within APO. Oh well, I am sure there must be a good reason.
I have seen from our systems that most loads come from APO going to BI. Is it always that way?
BI type data can come from any source. The most common BI solutions I have seen is where BI data are extracted from the main ERP. However, the beauty of BI is that it doesn't care, SAP builds in functionality to get data from anywhere.
Are data from ECC considered as well?
They can be if you design it so.
You should be aware that most data existing in ERP that are relevant for material planning also usually exist in APO. The Core Interface between ERP and APO is normally set up to natively replicate substantial quantities of Master data and also transactional data. It may be that in your business environment, you really don't need to connect to anything other than APO. However, this is not a limitation of BI, it is just smart programming to try to minimize the number of sources of your data.

As far as transport management, if you are talking about TMS capabilities for moving object in the landscape, go to https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/contentportfolio and search for "transport" You will find a thirdparty package for this.

I have to add a new field "doc_item" to the existing query ''zzmmr_q001'.
Please provide me the steps involved in transport. Also any checkpoints?

It's enough to go to transport connection in RSA1 of your development system and collect again in a new CR all the objects you need to import in your PRD environment!
for ex.. If you change only a restricted KF, you don't need to transport others than the query and its components from RSA1...
After you collected query objects in Transport Connection, are you able to see your changed objects on the right side of the screen
Collect the changed query in new request in transport connection. Check the consistency of the request before releasing in SE01.

Need help for JTextPane as JTree node renderer and styling in JTextPane!!!

I have a tree which is loading from database. And in renderer i am using JTextPane. I am putting huge text around 500 words in each node. And this Text is formatting using StyledDocument in JTextPane.
My problem is tree is taking very long time for loading because of this styleddocument. and also size and space of nodes are not proper. how can i solve this issue.
here is my renderer code.

My problem is about the size and spacing of each tree node and insertString() of styled document which is taking huge time to load.

Main performance issue there is comp.getStyledDocument().insertString(...) calls.
Each time you call this your comp which listens model updates layout.
Instead of using the same Document create a new instance of the Document (e.g. by kit.createDefaultDocument()). Pass the newly created document in the method to insert all the content and after the insert completed call comp.setDocument(newDocInstance)

Function Module / Class for Transport Management

Hello,
I have a requirement where I need to fetch the list of transports which are released. In addition to that, I also need to fetch list of object under each transport (which have failed to be migrated in the target system) and find all the relevant transports for that particular object type (Report, FM , Table etc) and display the list probably in an ALV report.
Now, I know that accessing E070, E071 like E07* tables would probably match with my requirements.
But I would like to implement the same using Classes in the first place (CL_CTS*) and if not, using Function Modules. Can someone give me any Class name(s), FM name(s) which would suit this requirement? Thanks.

Try with the FM - TRINT_SELECT_REQUESTS, and look at the other FMs in the function group SCTS_REQUEST_SELECTION.

Need Suggestions For Network Manager/WICD

Hello again everyone. I seem to be full of issues today. Anyway, I'm a KDE guy and I've been using WICD to manage my network connections since around the time that KDE 4.x premiered, because as far as I know KDE does not have a viable network manager.
WICD works great, it connects before I even finish logging in, it connects to my networks without me having to interact at all, until now. Now, it's just acting strange, and I didn't change anything except whatever is changed during the normal updating of packages.
It started off not connecting to wired connections at all and only wireless at home. If I plugged in a network cable, it would try and try and try and then tell me that it couldn't get an IP address. Sometimes after restarting it would work but not every time. After a few more days, it started to connect to wireless connections only 50% of the time. A reboot would usually clear it up.
Now, as of today, it won't connect to anything. I took it to work as I usually do so I can use it in the lunch room (where there are three wireless AP's in range) and it wouldn't connect at all, and I tried rebooting five times. One of my coworkers had no problem connecting to the same wireless AP on her laptop that I could not connect to.
I've never known WICD to be problematic like this. I didn't change anything and I don't think it's been updated recently.
If there is a network manager for KDE that works more reliably, I'm open to suggestions. I prefer WICD because it (used to) worked so well. At the very least, I prefer having some sort of wireless manager. The one that shipped with Kubuntu in 9.04 is completely terrible so whatever that is I don't know if I want that unless it got drastically improved.

As for now, I switched to networkmanager. I use the default nm-applet, it works well, but I agree, it's not nearly as neat as wicd, and the icon is an eyesore Maybe a kernel/wicd update in the future will solve these issues, but as of now, too many people (on various hardware) seem to have issues with wicd + kernel 2.32.x.

Knetworkmanager unfortunately depends on kde3, while the plasmoid is completely broken at the moment. Hopefully they'll get it working (or they might have some sort of solution) in 4.4 release...

Need Information for transporting a file as IDOC through File Port!!!

All configurations are present in the system to transfer a file as IDOC using File Port.
Now we are creating a custom program to transfer the same. Now i have all the data in an internal table which has to be send to Non SAP system. So can i know the process how to send the same.
I have a SAP Directory where i need to place the system. I also have all ports required.
So please let me know how to code the same ASAP.

You may want to try using the IDOC Test tool WE19 in order to test out your ports and partner profiles.
Also sending from SAP to XI / PI you might be better configuring RFC Destination / SM59.
