Need Bluetooth Headset recommendation

I have been thru multiple bluetooths for my Storm.  These are the same headsets I have used on other pre-storm phones including (samsung, jabra, & plantronics) and they have worked fabulously.  The quality  nowis poor and inconsistent (i.e. muffled, static, non-existent).  When the sound is at least tolerable, it degrades after a few minutes.
I am sure there is some fabulous headset that will work with this phone.
By the way, this is my 3rd storm since January as they kept replacing it to improve the sound quality. I am looking to you all for assistance.
Thanks.

Another vote for the BlueAnt Z9i. I am using one with my Storm and it works great.

  • Any Bluetooth Headset Recommendations Out There?

I realize the new 3G doesn't have voice-call activation (name recognition/dialing) capabilities... but interested on anyone out there that
    a. has Bluetooth headset recommendations?
    b. specifically around the Jawbone 1 and Jawbone 2?
AT&T Stores indicate that the slimmer Jawbone 2 is a hot-sell, but has the highest return rate compared to the Jawbone 1? Jawbone 2 is more comfortable but its plastic contact with the jaw is not consistent, creating breaks in conversation for those on the receiving end? They also offered feedback that while both Jawbones are the best on the market, the Jawbone 1 is better, despite its bulky size. (I know, another bleed site for the controversial 3G battery life) Anyone's feedback will be appreciated. Thx

If it was last yr. you must have tried that bulky Jawbone 1.. i can see where you would have been attracted to iPhones BT. I ended up getting the Jawbone 2 and after three days no problems and seemingly satisfied. Plantronics 800 series wasn't available (I think the 856 or 865?)
Thanks for your input though... If I return my Jawbone 2 in the next week or so, I will chk out Apple's but its reviews on Consumer Reports and CNET Reviews were not very high to others out there? To each their own I guess... almost like having buy suntan lotion at a CVS with A LOT of different choices.

  • Bluetooth headset recommendations?

I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations on a good Bluetooth headset to pair up with a Macbook for using Skype. I tried a Motorola something about a year ago and I had to hold my head in just one spot to avoid static.
Any recommendations on a reliable basic headset?

    Hello,
You might not like my suggestion given your experience, but I have a motorola unit and it works well. Pairs every time, long battery life, minimal static, etc.

It's powered by a AAA battery, which I think is a plus.

  • Need bluetooth headset that is compatible with the iPhone and a blackberry

Alright I have a blackberry curve right now because Ive been waiting for 2.0 to come out.
Now that its here, I need a little bit more time to to gather up the funds to get the phone, but I need to get a bluetooth now for work.
I'd like get a bluetooth now that I can use on my blackberry temporarily and then use it on my iPhone instead of having to fork over money twice.
Now I really want to get the dock for the iphone and I think I have seen pictures of a dock for a phone AND bluetooth?
Am I correct that this exsists?
I've seen the apple bluetooths and they dont have a ring that goes around your ear like most and I'm worried that just sticking it in my ear is not solid enough.
Normal music earphone buds dont seem to fit comfortablly in my ear, so I'd rather having something hanging from my ear as opposed to stuffed in it.
So is there a bluetooth headset with an ear ring that will plug into an apple phone dock for charging?

Can you buy a universal hook to clip on the apple earbud?
Yes. I have heard good things about this product:

I mean is there any rumor about them coming out with a new apple dock for 2.0?
Not that we've heard, though I'd imagine that one will be coming eventually.
If they are, and there is a universal hook that will clip on their ear piece, I would prefer to stick with the apple gear.
Apple doesn't make one to my knowledge

  • Can anybody actually RECOMMEND a bluetooth headset for the iPhone?

I see a lot of bad experiences, & not too many good ones.
Can anybody actually RECOMMEND a bluetooth headset for the iPhone? I just need one that works, with very little features (ie: redial button on headset).

I've actually posted another thread, and I don't mean to take over the original members post, but I'm hoping this will help others who may be having the same problems. Thanks to all of you who have posted your results with the various headsets!
I am now on my third iPhone 3G in under six months. The first one would drop calls when the corded Apple headset was plugged in during the call, and the second would cause the caller on the other end to hear an echo when I used the Apple headset. Plus, it did not respond well at all to Bluetooth headsets. Tons of static, call echoes, and noise cancellation not working.
My experience with the Jawbone 2 has been disappointing. I have heard way too many testimonials of satisfied iPhone users who love the JB2, so I'm beginning to think it's just me. I went through FOUR Jawbone 2 devices in under a month, all because of poor sound quality, and the Noise Assassin not working properly.
The white rubber tip sat very well against my cheek, and the default medium earpiece fit perfectly in my ear and was very comfortable to wear. Everything seemed to be in order, but the same problems would arise over and over again. I would get poor sound quality on both ends of the call, and people could hear the tv or the radio playing in the background on my end.
Maybe the structure of my head isn't suited for the JB2, but I have a very normally proportioned head. I refuse to believe it's the device——It has been rated highly by too many people to be the issue. I've all but given up on it, regrettably.
The Plantronics Discovery 665 I tested had issues with static. I would hear it on my end, even thought the phone was no more than two feet away.
I'll give the Plantronics 925 a try, as well as the Blue Ant V1. We'll see...

  • Help help bluetooth headset need developer

    Hello everybody,
I haven't any knowledge in to developing and i am here to find a developer who can help me or develop something for me,
i'm actually using a bluetooth headset (jabra) with my macbook (10.5.2) .
the headset profile works perfect , i can choose in my sound preference panel the headset as input or output, but the thing is that i don't care about the audio part what i am looking for is to use the headset buttons ( volume up/down, on/off) but the headset doesn't have any HID profile...
So what i need is a special driver or little software that keystroke for each buttons or send HID values as a gamepad or mouse do , then it will be easy for me to get the values in the sofware i use (max/msp)..
If i look in the preferences panel/sound with the headset coreaudio choosed i can see the volume bar moving when i use the volume buttons of the headset, maybe its possible to do it with applescript too? ( i will post that message in the Applescript's section too).
    If anyone can help ..
    million of thanks

Ok, there's some strange things happening with bluetooth these days it seems. I had a lot of trouble setting up a connection to my phone, even after following avery bit of advice I found on the net.
But somehow I found a way, and now it works. I had to do some things not documented anywhere, excepte from some obscure places from 2003 etc.
The most significant problem I encountered was that my phone would never find my computer, even though I set pscan and iscan enabled.
Here's a line of code I found that fixed the problem for me. It could work for you too, since your problem looks exactly like the things I saw when the phone couldn't see my computer.
    dbus-send --system --dest=org.bluez /org/bluez/hci0
    org.bluez.Adapter.SetMode string:discoverable
I write this after the bluetooth system has started.

  • Need a high quality Bluetooth Headset for my Nokia...

    Hi everyone
can any of you recommend a really good Bluetooth Headset for my Nokia N80 ?
want something with crystal clear sound, no distortion and one that fits nice and snuggly without being uncomfortable...
    Thanks....

Hi, I use the Nokia HB-900 with my black N80 and they work flawlessly together, PTT is perfect, Voice quality is like nothing you have ever exprienced in a bluetooth headset, the noice canceling in BH-900 and the extended boom truely sets this headset apart from what you have used before and the long battery life is just great. i realy like the look of it and it is the only headset i actualy wear in public without feeling stange, its pretty light and comfortable, i forget i am wearing it and it doesn't swing around or move when i turn my head, it's quality is good and matches the n80 finish ( i have the one with the black extendable boom ) and works perfectly, it also has a blue light on it that matches the blue light on my n80. it's worth every penny. when i use it the people on the other end of the line do not believe that i am using a cellphone as the voice quiality is great due to digital voice processor and the noise cancelation of BH-900, you can't go wrong whit this one.

  • Can someone please recommend a Plantronics bluetooth headset for SPA525G2

Can someone please recommend a Plantronics bluetooth headset for SPA525G2

    Hi Juan,
He is a link to Plantronics website with a list of headsets they support with the SPA525G's.
    http://www.plantronics.com/us/configurator/default.jsp?use=Deskphone&wl=&ec=&sl=&spn=&skb=&sds=
The Voyager Legend looks like that may be a good option. Plantronics supports this headset with Bluetooth and as long as you the right phone load with Bluetooth enabled, then you should not have any issues.
    Hope this helps.

I anonymized the MAC of the Bluetooth headset because otherwise, somebody would probably yell at me for the security vulnerability. Because with that MAC, someone could uh ..... they could ...... uhm ...... well I anonymized it anyways.
So without further ado, here's what I do to try and get my bluetooth headset going:
    [root@yvonne bluetooth]# lsmod | grep ^snd_bt_sco
    snd_bt_sco 14028 0
    [root@yvonne bluetooth]#
That ensures I've got the appropriate module loaded.

I've got HCID going, with DBus started first (read up about that on the forums)

Note that each time after I wipe out the keys from /var/lib/bluetooth, I'm putting the headset back into pairing mode by holding down its "phone" button.
So I'm kind of at the end of my rope here. Something is going wrong during pairing, but what is it? dmesg isn't giving me any clues here either. Is the PIN not getting transmitted properly or something?[/code]

    Hi,
In that case I would recommend trying this method here to reset the BlackBerry smartphone to factory settings
To do this we would need to back up the BlackBerry smartphone. Please open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and connect your BlackBerry smartphone. Click on the Backup and Restore button and select Back Up. Please note the location where the backup is being saved as we will need to access it later to restore the BlackBerry smartphone.
Once you have backed up follow this article.

  • 6280 Bluetooth Headset

After having problems with my BH-800 headset i would like to buy another one But this time, Which Nokia bluetooth headphones do you recommend for my 6280? Is it reliable? Really need a bluetooth headset because the law has changed and i get calls alot in the car.
Btw don't recommend a car kit because i get out the car alot.
Any Reliable Nokia Bluetooth Headsets Anyone?
    Any help will be appreciated

Yes Bluetooth devices are able to pair/talk to each other. However for a device (i.e. mobile phone) to use the service of another (i.e. Bluetooth headset), the device should have bluetooth stacks (sth like drivers) that supports the service provided.
6680 is a S60 Symbian phone, whereas 6280 a S40 one. So I suspect the bluetooth stacks available in 6280 are not as complete as 6680's. You might try to contact Nokia Careline in your country and ask them about this issue.

  • Motorola HS500 bluetooth headset while driving only!

I only use the bluetooth headset while I am driving, which is about two hours daily. Should I turn on and off the bluetooth option on my iPhone to save battery power? In other words, just turn on the bluetooth when I need to use my headset?

Miguel...most would recommend to turn off both Bluetooth and WiFi when not in use to conserve battery life...However...I leave mine on 24 hours per day and still get 48 hours standby with about 4-6 hours of use per day. So it would seem that what ever is best for "your" phone is what I would recommend. Hope that helps.
    Good Luck

  • Bluetooth headset for MacBook pro and iPhone

Is there a recommended Bluetooth headset I can pair with my iPhone and MacBook pro and do things like:
    iPhone:
    Take call
    Listening to music and podcasts
    MacBook Pro:
    Listening to music and podcast
    Skype calls
    Google Voice calls
    Face time
    YouTube
    Etc...
At the same time it would need at least 8 hours of talk and or play time battery.
Has somebody built such thing? If not we should do a kickstarter...
    Thank you for your recommendations

    Try to look at: http://www.jabra.com/
The ones compatible with the iPhone work with Skype too on a Mac, I don't know about other services.

  • Apple Bluetooth Headset - Paring with Windows and Other Questions

Love my new Apple Bluetooth Headset, works great. My first one did have a problem with poor range but this one is a lot better. I've been wanting to use the headset as a mic. Windows XP finds the headset find but I can't tell if it's connecting or not. How do I tell the Headset what device to connect to? It's paired to my iPhone too so it picks up on my iPhone every time I try to connect.
Basically how do scroll through on the Headset what devices to connect to? Usually Bluetooth Headsets can be paired with multiple devices and you do certain button combinations to scroll through the paired devices.

unlike some of the sony ericssons, the apple headset can only be paired with one phone at a time. that doesn't stop you from repairing it when need be, however...

  • Can't get MacBook Pro to recognize Motorola H500 Bluetooth headset

    Hello all,
I am trying to get my MacBook Pro to recognize a Motorola H500 Bluetooth headset. Bluetooth is ON and "discoverable" on my mac. When I go to system preferences and click "bluetooth", then "devices", the headset won't show up (it is turned ON). I tried clicking "Set up new device..." and won't work either.
Any tips on how i can make this work?
    Thanks a lot!

You need to put the H500 into discoverable mode:
    turn it off
hold "call button" for 5 seconds or until the sold blue circle light appears
now go do the bluetooth set up on your Mac....your H500 will show up and then just click thru continue....
