Need Business One Fashion/Apparel Module

I have a client that is a women's apparel company that sells both retail (web) and wholesale.  They're looking to move to Business One, but require a good Apparel module that works through the production side through order processing.
I'm familiar with B1-Fashion, but would like to go with a US based company.
Any suggestions?

John,
Please look at Apollo Consulting's Apparel One add-on for Business One.
This is a very reputed conpany based in San Fransisco, California (Bay Area)

  • Business one - how is the prospects for a MBA fresher

I am very new to business one and I need some information regarding its training and prospects. One of my friend has graduated (MBA) and trying to get into SAP. Since he is fresher he is not able to undergo any major SAP module. The training center is recommending him to underto business one and jump to other modules after he gets his experience. In this circumstance (a fresher trying to learn SAP and become BSA) is Business one an apt module for him? Can he later jump to a major module? How easy difficult will it be for him?
    Please give your valuable suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Deepak

Hello Deepak - I can provide some input from some experience both as a user and as an implementation specialist.
Most folks think that the R3 world is the best place to start due to the larger number of opportunities and the ability to specialize very quickly in a very thin and focused module (for example, HR in R3).  IF, and that is a big IF, a person wants to be locked into a very thin and specialized module, then going to the R3 world is great.
However, if a person likes to work with the entire range of business operations then All In One, Business by Design, and Business One are the avenues to go.  Although there are differences between the R3 world and these other packages, the truth of the matter is that it is much easier to go from these other packages into R3, than vice-versa.  Why?  Because with the other packages, you are forced to understand what is going on throughout the entire system and the entire business process.  I have seen over and over again where an experienced and seasoned R3 person has tried to work in one of the "all-encompassing" packages and drops from senior to junior in the process because they know one distinct area and now they need to know everything (which most do not).
A lot of people refer to SAP Business One as the "little brother" to R3 (and sometimes even insinuate that SAP B1 is not that tough), but you tell me - which is harder to know in an expert fashion - one single piece of the business or the entire process which a business goes through?  I have been on both sides of the fence and, believe me, knowing what to do functionally and technically for the entire process is a much larger effort and requires a special kind of person.
You hear many horror stories about the R3 implementations which take years to do, millions of dollars, and an army of consultants.  Why is that?  Because each consultant knows his/her piece and mis-communication and finger pointing are farily easy to do.  Not quite possible when you have only one or two consultants there to do the entire SAP B1 implementation; it goes quickly and the responsibility is squarely set upon the shoulders of those one or two consultants.
SAP is currently making a big push in SAP Business by Design (SAP ByD) in the upcoming months and have a variety of Webinars and are creating some good documentation since it is a newer SAP release.  The SAP ByD field is wide open for anyone because there are few consultants who can claim experience (which makes it good and bad, depending upon how you see it).
So the bottom line question comes to this;  does your friend want to be part of the army in R3 and learn a specific area of business or does the person like to work as the hedge-pin of success and responsibility in a broad and entire business process?  Finding a great and all-around SAP B1er is like finding a jewel - I have had the pleasure of working with SAP B1 for the past six years and having someone on the team who is both knowledgable and able to get things done is a great asset...the SAP B1 implementation is both tough but very rewarding...
Good luck for your friend who is starting out...
    Regards - Zal

  • Need design Docs for Business One.

    HI All,
Background: I  am from a SCM background and wanted to familiarize myself with SCM software of SAP specifically for the SMB market.
What I want to learn: As mentioned above, the SCM solution of SAP for SMB market...all modules related to WM (Warehouse Management).
My interest in Architecture/Application: Both - technical as well as functional aspects of the SCM with a focus on WM.
From my perspective for SCM all modules of WM - Receiving, Putaway, Wave, Cross-Docking etc.
Will it be possible for you to assist me find some relevant documents/ppts regarding the same?
    Thanks in advance,
    Harsh.

    Hello Harsh,
Good to learn about your interest in knowing the WM side of SAP B1.
SAP Business One (out of the box) does not really have a WM / WMS module to handle the different aspects of the warehouse function.
This is being supplimented by a few Add-ons which provide this functionality to SAP B1.
RadioBeacon is one such addon from a company called Accellos based out of Toronto, Canada.
CitiXsys also has a WMS solution for Business One and that apart there are a few.
Pretty much all software would handle the basic WMS functions of Receiving, Putaway, Picking, Cross dock, Replenishment etc.
Unless you work with the specific Addon you would not have anything to learn on the SCM / Logistics / WMS side right out of Business One.
Let me know if you need more details

  • What modules are in Business One?

Are other modules like PS, PM & QM included in Business one? If yes, under which key functional area do they come under?
I would really appretiate if you could let know the complete list of modules included in Business One.
    Thanks
    Arun

    Dear Arun,
This is just R2 and there are no additional modules. You can see all the modules on the main screen such as Finance, Sales, Purchase, CRM Production HR and Inventory.

  • Need help with Business One Implementation Consultant Certification

    Hello,
I need help preparing for the B1 certification. I have taken the test once already and failed. I found it very tricky with multiple correct answers for each question.
I have gone thru the eLearning several times now. And this week I am taking the instructor led training. I have also purchased and studied the Ebook. I have a good grasp of the product, but I feel that this is not enough to help prepare for the test.
I want to know if there are any other resources I could use to help prepare for the test. Are there any practice exams
Any and all help is appreciated
    Thank you!

  • Do we need a SAP Business One & Business Objects Forum?

    Hi all,
We have made the Crystal Reports Add-on for SAP Business One available in the [Knowledge Center|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/businessone?rid=/webcontent/uuid/807d22cb-cb1d-2b10-8794-fb76d7feca88]
For all discussions arround SAP Business One and the new Add-On Crystal Reports we have at the moment one [Thread|SAP Business One and Crystal Reports; with very high contribution.
So we would like to ask you, if a new Forum is needed and if yes where to put it (beneath the SAP Business One Forums or the Business Objects Forums)?
    Thanks for your feedback,
    Richard and Darius

    Richard/Darius,
Having experience both SAP Business One and Business Objects, I would suggest that all reporting aspects of Crystal Reports should stay in Business Objects Forum.
I would still agree to create a sub-forum for Crystal Reports in SAP Business One, as long as the topics are more of the integration of Crystal Reports with SAP B1.

  • Student need details about Business One prices.

    Hi
I'm a german student and i have to do a project about SAP Business One. It's necessary for me to get more informations about the prices for this ERP software. I've searched the I-net for many days but couldn't find any helpfull informations.
I need detail informations about asset costs, follow-up costs, license fees, costs for training the employers to handle the software and maintenance costs. If anybody can help me about that i will be very glad.
    greetings, daniel

Well, first thing is the pricing is dependant on the country or at least the region you are buying B1 from. For example in Europe you could buy a SAP B1 license for 2500 euros when in Australia you can buy it for AUD2500 (FX rate 0.62).
The price is based on the market, the performance, the index of investment etc.
You also have to differenciate in your analysis the cost of licenses and the cost of implementing. Some partners are using a rule of thumb saying that the cost of implementation is roughly the cost of one license. I tend not to agree with it but that's a base I guess.

    <b>***please reward if this helps**</b>

  • Business One 2005  A SP1 Mentor Needed

    Hi,
I'm a newbie to SAP Business One (but have experience with MS SQL 2000/5 Databases, SQL and OO programming, and tech admin in general, but I've just had a SAP Business One A SP1 app dropped in my lap and am a little freaked out, lol! The company I work for (very cool baby stuff co) just got bought/funded and they need to start with a fresh chart of accounts / company and I have been tasked with creating a the company and migrating some of the vendor/partner/stock data from the existing company.
I'm not looking for any hand holding per say, just someone with some experience in this domain who I can bounce some questions off of, and who might be able to point me in the right direction as to how to approach this, i.e. data migration workbench or the migration wizard, or just doing it from behind in the MS SQL DB itself after creating a basic co in the front end...anyway...sorry for the novel and the totally open ended post...I promise I won't abuse your time if anyone is willing to give me some pointers...thanks in advance!
    Dustin -

Hi Gordon...thank you very much for your reply and the advice. The B1 software was originally installed by a seasoned SAP professional and is working well and already has an existing company in use, I have just been asked to create a duplicate company, only bringing over a small amount of non-transactional data such as vendor and partner contact info and special pricing data
I have already created a new test company, and it now it looks like I just need to migrate some of the non-critical data. I know sometimes things can appear more simple than they really are, and I understand that I may be missing some important aspect of this processes that would be better left to an expert.  So, after my clarification of what I am being asked to do and where I am at in the processes, would you still recommend that this is best left to a seasoned SAP consultant? Thanks again for your reply! Dustin -

Anybody Please help me out on generating a Complete Sales Order Cycle using Business One GUI or theory by using Business One

    Somaraju,
You may want to look at the Sample Code example that is part of the 2005A Business One SDK that shows and external Business One interface written in VB.Net that shows how to create a Sales Order/Invoice in SAP Business One.  This example can be found at: Start > Programs > SAP Business One > SDK > Samples > COM DI > 05. OrderAndInvoice.  For complete training on the processes you are asking about from within the SAP Business One product, you can reveiw the SAP Business One eLearning product training if you are and SAP Business One partner in the areas that you have outlined at service.sap.com/smb.
    Hope that helps,
