Need clarification on one running job in SM37

Dear friends,
right now am working for one client , so we are the second vendor for them and we have been taking care of the project
now i can able to see my client's previous vendor user names are still availbae in SU01..
so instead of deleting their user names i just wanted to see whether is there any scheduled jobs are there for that particular user id and then using SM37 transaction i found one job got scheduled and it is running daily... i.e.
job job created status start date start time duration delay
STAUS-EMAIL RAM FINISHED 21.02.2011 00.00.39 1 39
PLEASE HELP ME FRIENDS ..WHAT DOES IT MEAN ? CAN I LOCK THAT PARTICULAR USER??? OR CAN I DELETE THIS JOB??

For this JOB, you can check what is the Program and Program variant it is executing...
From the log you gave, it seems its a custom job scheduled on some program.
Select the job, and click on steps.. it will take you to step list overview...
then menu goto -> variant.
this will tell you what program was running..
based on the program you can decide if the SM37 job should be deleted or not..
If you found that you still need the job, then you can just change the executing user of that JOB,,, replacing the older ID with any new ID

The 2010 MBPs came installed with either 10.6.3, or 10.6.4 later in their lifespan. Earlier versions of the OS may not have the correct drivers for the Mac's hardware.
Ultimately, you might be better off upgrading your copy of Pro Tools, or updating the Mac to Yosemite and running Logic Pro X.

1.At the time of MRP Run what is the status function for - shipping notification?
2.First i have run the mrp planning mode is normal after that i have some changes in material master , so planning mode is - RE Explode planning & Bom ? AT THE TIME OF MRP RUN it is correct
3.In background MRP Run at MDBT - what is the PLANNING MODE ?
4. How will work on automatic PO Create through MRP Run PR\S.?

1 - A shipping notification is a confirmation from the vendor that the material has been shipped.
2 - When you change your BOM or material master MRP settings, system automatically set a flag on the planning file to re-explode the BOM. Therefore, MRP automatically re-explode the BOM, even with planning mode 1. Planning mode 2 is only necessary when you need to force a new BOM explosion and I don't recommend you to use it frequently, as it may lead to performance issues. 4 - MRP does not create or change purchase orders or production orders. MRP can only create planned orders, purchase requisitions or schedule lines.

This is urgent please help! long running job in sm37 but not in sm66

Hi,
Can someone please help for an explanation as to why if you call sm37, you can see that the job is long running (example about 70,000 sec), but when you look at the PID where the job is running in sm66 it does not show 70,000 sec but only around 6,000 sec.
Can someone please explain why? Thank you very much

For background processes, additional information is available for the background job that is currently running. You can only display this information, if you are logged onto the instance where the job is running, or if you choose Settings and deselect Display only abbreviated information, avoid RFC. In any case, the job must still be running.

GUYS,GALS,FELLOW GEEKS, NERDS, PROFESSIONALS, AND the like. I have a major issue of why after installing ADK it says when after running that the operating system isnt supported? I see no rational of why it would do that. ANYONE who is privvy to such, please
asap me a solution if there is one. Uninstalling it now. I just need a tool other than the fixit tools which are too archaec to deal with, or too light in diagnostics.

What's needed to run jobs in a db?

Hi there
Can you tell me what is needed to run jobs in a db? I know how i create a job in OEM, but which services must be running, or what is important to know for the jobs?

I just finished trial and erroring through getting sqlloader to run via OEM. The login credentials must match between console and server, the login must have user rights assigned to allow "Logon as batch job" on the server, and Agent and Management Server must be up and running and if data being used in the job resides on other machines, those other machines must also recognize the login credentials. And appropriate privleges in the db.

Is it possible to have Multiple Spool requests in one batch job overview?

While running one of my z program in back ground, there are two spools generated (one by write statement and one by OPEN_FORM statement and both the spools are available in SP01 Transaction), but when i see the job overview in transaction SM37, I only see one spool request (that of the last spool request). Can any body in the group please tell me is it possible to see multiple spool requests in the job overview of one Abap program and if yes, how?

Anyway, does any one in the group think that display of multiple spools per one step job is dependent on client / SAP Server setting? Because as evident from the chain of mails in the link provided by Jayanthi, some people say that they see multiple spool requests for one program in batch mode job overview (SM37)? If yes, can some body tell me the required configuration?

A problem about the "Max running jobs". Thanks a million!

The "Max running jobs" was set to 15.
(1). When I dragged two assets into FCSvr at a time, in the "Search all jobs" window, I saw the first one being uploaded then transcoded, and later the second one being uploaded then transcoded.
(2). When I dragged them into FCSvr one by one, I saw them being uploaded, then the first one being transcoded, and the second one later.
Thus with (2), there is no need to wait or queue between the uploading of the second one and the transcoding of the first one.
However, I intend to drag the assets at the same time, besides, I wanna attain the aim in (2) that no queue to wait. Could someone tell me how to do it?

If I understand, you used for upload menu "Upload file..."
For uploading and conversation in same time many files you can setup production action (response) for some folder on your device (XSAN, RAID, HDD)
This action can create production for folder, and create assets for media in folder. The add action "SCAN" in response submenu. For transcoding many assets in same time check radio button "Background Analyze" in response "SCAN".
You can read more about that in manual.

How can we schedule the finished job in SM37 ?

I need to schedule all the jobs which are running in Production to a common user (Ex. BWGURU). Presently the jobs are running on different users in SM37. My requirement is to schdule all the running / finished / scheduled /released / cancelled jobs to a common user. I am not manaage to schedule the finished / cancelled job. How can i do that ?

U can't never make a finished job to released............First a Job will be in Release state...........then it will be in Schedule.........then the Job will Start...........then either finish or Cancelled...........
To start a job...............u hav ti to take the Released state of the Job to schedule......
Hav u Clicked on immediate tab...........there just check the immediate box................then check and save...........
U hav said.......i am getting extra job running with the same name............u mean that the job is is running State .............right.........Look u cannot create two jobs in same name...............may be that job is running.............hav u scheduled the job ?............may be thats why it is running..............if u want to cancel the running job.............double click on the job.............from job details copy the PID and Application server.............come out...........click on Application Server...............double click on the desired server...search the PID.and cancel the job.............

Running jobs on Always On setup

Hello there.
I am trying to figure out how to run jobs in a SQL Server Always On setup.
Basically, I need to add a piece of logic in my jobs that will test if the database (or replica) is the primary. If so, the job will continue, otherwise will silently stop.
Does anybody have a ready to go query that does it?

Based on that function we are using a stored procedure that throws an error when the DB is not online. We add a first step that calls this sproc and on error just Ends the Job with success state.

Unable to Cancel Job in SM37 (R3)

Dear Guys,
Regards.We got a situation :Unable to Kill the Background job (BI_REQ*).It shows "ACTIVE" and been running for more than 19,000 secs (2 days..) .When this job started ,the PROCESS ID was : 244277..But after a day,this PROCESS ID : 244277 has been allocated to some other R3 Program(Monitored in SM50).But the Background Job is still "ACTIVE".Tried killing the Job in SM37--->Cancel Active Job or Delete the Job) but ,when tried to "Cancel" the Job,we get a message : The job is NOT ACTIVE !!!. Then when tried to "DELETE" the job ,we get a message " Job is still ACTIVE"......!!!!
>Since there is no Work Process in SM50,what is the alternative solution to Kill this Job..........???
(In BW ,there is no Update of data records,with the monitor showing RED)....

Go to SM37 >> select the job >> Click on the JOB tab in the top >> Click on Check status............
Then it status will show cancel...........
Actually sometimes it happens job gets cancelled but staus shows active....then we need to do this..........actually job is already cancelled......

First of all, sorry for any confusion that we have caused you. I hope I can give you an answer that will clear up the confusion. Sorry, but it is a long explanation of the development of two application solution but history tends to be very long winded!
It is not true SAP R/3 Enterprise equals SAP Web AS, and I'll hopefully explain why:
In the beginning (at least in the client server world) SAP only ship SAP R/3. The technology layer under SAP R/3 was called SAP Basis. There was only SAP Basis under SAP R/3.
SAP then started to deliver other software solutions that were not included in or built on the SAP R/3 software. These included SAP Business Information Warehouse, SAP APO, SAP SEM, SAP CRM, and the list goes on.
These solutions needed to run on technology layer (like SAP R/3 did). SAP Basis was the obvious choice for this because of the common technology layer providing DB/OS abstraction and a coding environment.
~2001:
Later there came the need to have SAP Basis support the web and its web standards and other programming languages. This radically changed what SAP Basis was and we decided to rename the new technology layer to SAP Web Application Server (SAP Web AS). So the SAP Basis name was retired and SAP Basis 4.6D was the last release called SAP Basis.
The new release and the "technology change" means that all the applications mentioned above now ran on SAP Web AS. The first release of SAP Web AS was 6.10.
~2002:
SAP Web AS was first used in SAP R/3 Enterprise release .
The important fact is that SAP R/3 Enterprise runs on SAP Web AS. SAP R/3 Enterprise = SAP R/3 business applications + new business functions + SAP Web AS.
~2003:
I hope the above explanation is clear, because technology takes another major change. It was realized that SAP now had a collection of business solutions/applications (SAP R/3, mySAP CRM, mySAP SCM, etc) and a collection of technology solutions (SAP Web AS, SAP BW, SAP EP, etc). The technology requirements for the business solutions did not end at SAP Web AS, they needed portal, data warehouse, knowledge management capabilities, etc to develop business solutions on.
To address this SAP made the decision to combine all the technology solutions and tools into one single platform. This made complete sense for developers (SAP, Partners and customers). This single platform is called SAP NetWeaver. It includes all the old individual components of SAP Web AS, SAP BW, SAP KM, SAP EP, etc).
~2004:
I think you can guess what the next step is. Yes, the new release of SAP R/3. Since the release of SAP R/3 Enterprise and the release of SAP NetWeaver, SAP R/3's name changes. It is now called mySAP ERP as it includes a lot of applications that were previously sold separately (like SAP SEM, MSS, ESS, etc).
So now mySAP ERP runs on SAP NetWeaver (yes everything that was in SAP Basis and then in SAP Web AS is still there but SAP NetWeaver has so much more now).
Also with the release of SAP NetWeaver, SAP starts to stop using the old technology component names - you will not hear us talk about SAP Web AS, SAP BW, etc anymore, just SAP NetWeaver releases.
In addition all the other SAP business applications also run on SAP NetWeaver, so the latest version of mySAP CRM, mySAP SRM, and mySAP SCM all run on SAP NetWeaver.
So to simplify the explanation, it would be :
Evolution of SAP R/3:
SAP R/3 (up to release 4.6c) -> SAP R/3 Enterprise (releases 1.00 through 2.00 -> mySAP ERP (2004 onward)
Evolution of Basis:
SAP Basis (up to release 4.6d) -> SAP Web AS (up to release 6.40 which was included in SAP NetWeaver '04) -> SAP NetWeaver (2004 onward)
SAP NetWeaver and mySAP ERP have their own release cycles. mySAP ERP always has an underlying technology release that it is built on (this is a SAP NetWeaver release)

Running job in background

I am using oracle 10.2.0.4 and HP UX .
I want to run job in background .For this i created on sql file "stat.sql"

and then i created one "statscr.sh" file to run this script.

i am running this by
nohup ./statscr.sh >/home/oracle10/stat.log &
But soon it displaying message ...
/home/oracle10 > nohup ./statscr.sh >/home/oracle10/stat.log &

[1] + Done(126) nohup ./statscr.sh >/home/oracle10/stat.log &
How to check this job is running in backuground or not .. in ps -ef|grep nohup it is not displaying anything .

this is one time activity till now ..i need to run few sql script before starting this job and after finishing this job ...
those scripts are taking less time . so i am doing directly in sql prompt ..
I don't know when previous script will fininsh ,so i am not able to tell time when i can run this script.
can you find any mistake in my shell script or sql script or executing command nohup ...

Can not see running jobs from, package

I have a problem with processing parallely runing jobs:
I am creating another immediately runned jobs in a main job. Those two parallel jobs (2 loads from different databases) have to be finished before I run next operation (working out loaded data). Problem is that, after starting those 2 parallel jobs, I can not see them by select from ALL_SCHEDULER_RUNNING_JOBS that is executed immediately after I create those jobs in a package. If I take a look into ALL_SCHEDULER_RUNNING_JOBS from anonymous statement I can see all my running jobs. Let's sum it up:
1/ Start of main job
2/ Running 2 immediately created jobs (load data)
3/ Checking in loop if jobs created in step 2 are still running
3.1/ Jobs are running (ALL_SCHEDULER_RUNNING_JOBS check) - sleep for a
while - It never happens - can't see any running jobs from select executed in
package but can see them in
anonymous statement
3.2/ Jobs finished - start processing loaded data
Can somebody help me with this task?

Hi,
There is no reason a job should be visible from an anonymous block but not from inside a job. There are two things that may be happening here.
- jobs scheduled to run immediately my not start running as soon as they are created/enabled, you may need to wait a bit before they start running (they will appear in all_scheduler_jobs immediately but maybe not all_scheduler_running_jobs immediately)
- you may be running into privilege issues. Is the user that executes the anonymous block the same as the user that the job is running as (the job's schema) ? If not maybe the job user does not have privileges to see the job (you can grant alter on the job to the user to ensure this).
Can you see the jobs in the all_scheduler_jobs view from within the job with status RUNNING ? If you can see jobs in all_scheduler_jobs as RUNNING but not in all_scheduler_running_jobs then this is a bug of some sort.

How to stop a running job in 10g Scheduler?

The following is a duplicate post. I posted the following to the general database forum before seeing that otn has a new scheduler forum:
I am not able to find in the Admin Guide a method to stop a currently running instance of a job in the 10g scheduler.
In 9i, I run the following script calling DBMS_JOB.broken and DBMS_JOB.remove to shut down currently running jobs:

You can stop a currently running job using the STOP_JOB api.
STOP_JOB Procedure
This procedure stops currently running jobs or all jobs in a job class. Any instance of the job will be stopped. After stopping the job, the state of a one-time job will be set to SUCCEEDED whereas the state of a repeating job will be set to SCHEDULED or COMPLETED depending on whether the next run of the job is scheduled.
Syntax

Parameter Description
job_name
The name of the job or job class. Can be a comma-delimited list. For a job class, the SYS schema should be specified.
If the name of a job class is specified, the jobs that belong to that job class are stopped. The job class is not affected by this call.
force
If force is set to FALSE, the Scheduler tries to gracefully stop the job using an interrupt mechanism. This method gives control back to the slave process, which can update the status of the job in the job queue to stopped. If this fails, an error is returned.
If force is set to TRUE, the Scheduler will immediately terminate the job slave. Oracle recommends that STOP_JOB with force set to TRUE be used only after a STOP_JOB with force set to FALSE has failed.
Use of the force option requires the MANAGE SCHEDULER system privilege.
Setting force to TRUE is not supported for jobs of type executable.
Usage Notes
STOP_JOB without the force option requires that you be the owner of the job or have ALTER privileges on that job. You can also stop a job if you have the CREATE ANY JOB or MANAGE SCHEDULER privilege.
STOP_JOB with the force option requires that have the MANAGE SCHEDULER privilege.
