Need clarification on Project professional CACHE

Hi
I am opening Project plan from cache location in MS Project 2010 (not from retrieve list of all projects from project server)
but the issue is can see updated project plan (as like open from project server)
Steps which i performed below
1. Created project plan "My Test Project"with 10 tasks and published
2. other user added couple of tasks in same project plan "My Test Project" and published (in different machine)
3. Now i opened project plan from CACHE location, ideally i should able to see 10 tasks instead of 12
Even though i opened project plan from CACHE location why its showing updated copy
Any Suggestions

Hi Santosh,
You are indeed misunderstanding the local cache. If you publish a 10 tasks project and then other PM adds 2 tasks to the project, eventhough you open the project from you cache, you'll have the 12 tasks.
Basically Project will check if the version on the server has been updated AFTER your version on your local cache. If not, it will open your cache version. Otherwise (meaining other PMs have made changes to the project), Project will retrieve the changes
from the server, meaning you'll see the 12 tasks. Think that if Project Server would not do that, you'll just have your 10 tasks, you could update the project plan and publish it, loosing the other PM's 2 tasks.
