Need clarification regarding the test cable-diagnostics tdr command

Hello,
I've read about the test cable-diagnostics tdr command but I need clarification on the examples listed below to make sure that I am providing the right answer to my co-workers.
Example 1:
CXXX7SW17#show cable-diagnostic tdr int g0/20
TDR test last run on: July 16 10:23:00
Interface Speed Local pair Pair length        Remote pair  Pair status
Gi0/20    auto  Pair A     N/A                        N/A                Normal
                       Pair B     72   +/- 10 meters  N/A                Open
                       Pair C     75   +/- 10 meters  N/A                Short/Crosstalk
                       Pair D     74   +/- 10 meters  N/A                Short/Crosstalk
Does this example mean that there's a cable length issue in the line which is causing the device that it's connected to not to work properly?
Example 2:
CXXX2SW140#show cable-diagnostics tdr int g0/21
TDR test last run on: July 16 09:16:22
Interface Speed Local pair Pair length        Remote pair Pair status
Gi0/21    100M  Pair A     N/A                      Pair A           Normal
                          Pair B     N/A                      Pair B           Normal
                          Pair C     N/A                     Pair C           Normal
                          Pair D     N/A                     Pair D           Normal
Does this example state that the cable line is okay for use?
Example 3:
CXXX1SW19#show cable-diagnostics tdr int g0/22
TDR test last run on: July 16 06:36:53
Interface Speed Local pair Pair length            Remote pair Pair status
Gi0/22    auto    Pair A       1    +/- 10 meters  N/A               Open
                          Pair B     39   +/- 10 meters   N/A               Open
                          Pair C     72   +/- 10 meters   N/A               Open
                          Pair D     1    +/- 10 meters    N/A               Open
Does this example mean that there isn't a device connected on the other end? No pin-contact?
Thank you very much for any help you could provide.

I found this article here at supportforums that seemed like the best explanation I've read so far for TDR info.
Hope that helps.

    hi
    I am new to Web Dynpro and i am in need of clarification regarding the Attribute
    Property - Calculated
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    S.Chandran

    Hi,
    Calculated Property in webdynpro is required when you want to handle node context attribute programmatically.
    When you say Context Attribute as True, it generates two methods, Setter and Getter Method for that attribute.
    In getter method you will be getting one ‘element’ it is the context node, where you created attribute. These methods will be called automatically.

    Southbridge: Intel 82801IB (ICH9)
    LPCIO: Fintek F71882F
    BIOS: AMI V1.1 (11/07/2007)
    Hello,
    Almost all new motherboards today only have a primary ide channel and the rest are SATA.
    I need inputs regarding the dvd drive which is shown in device manager as located on the primary ide channel while the hard drive is located on the secondary channel. Because I would like to update the dvd drive to the latest firmware (version 1.06; to be able to recognize more blank media) but the LG site recommends that the drive (dvd) be located on the secondary ide channel.
    I already tried to uninstall every channel from the device manager but all would still be the same after reboot, dvd drive on primary, hard drive on secondary.
    Current ide mode in BIOS is set to AHCI+IDE mode, DMA modes are fine (UDMA4 for dvd, UDMA5 for hard drive), boot sequence (1st=HD, 2nd=DVD, 3rd=Floppy drive)
    Tried switching to IDE mode only in BIOS but would not detect the optical drive. Never tried RAID+IDE mode since I only have a single hard drive.
    I'm not sure but if I try to update the firmware, it might instead try to update the hard drive's firmware instead of the optical drive and make the hard drive unusable.
    I would like to know if anybody with this same situation was able to successfully update the optical drive's firmware or is there some way to place the optical drive on the secondary ide channel and the hard drive on primary for me to follow and replicate the process.
    Thank you for any replies.

    Thanks sir NovJoe for the reply.
    Just received the solution from another forum where I posted the same problem.
    They said that the flash program for the firmware will detect the drive on its own and would not flash other devices except the optical drive itself. So its pretty safe, and I can confirm this since I just flashed my ODD a little over a while ago and everything went fine. No errors.
    Though I'm speaking for the brand of ODD I own and may be different for other brands so take precautions as well. It may be different for the others.

  • Question regarding the "mcxquery" and "dscl -mcxread" commands:

    Question regarding the mcxquery and dscl -mcxread commands:
    Does anyone know why the mcxquery and the dscl . -mcxread commands don't show any info about MCX managed login items & printers? The System Profiler's "Managed Client" section does. Id like to see info regarding managed printers and managed login items using the mcx tools. I have Mac users running 10.5.2 with both login items and printers that are pushed out to them via MCX. The System Profiler app shows all of their policies, but the dscl . -mcxread and mcxquery tools dont. Why not?

    How do you "call procedures/functions" without sql code? You need at least the call statement like
    {call myProc(?,?,?)}that you wrap into a CallableStatement.
    Other than that: when you switch off autocommit, you need to call commit/rollback at the end. Usually, if you don't commit/rollback a non-autocommitted connection, the transaction get's committed/rollbacked when you close the connection - that depends on the JDBC driver. But it's never a good idea to ommit the commit/rollback calls on a non-autocommit connection. Usually you enclose your code in a try/catch block like this:
    con.setAutocommit(false);
    try {
       con.commit();
    } catch (Exception e) {
       con.rollback();
    } finally {
        con.setAutocommit(true); //or:
        con.close();
    }

  • Need help regarding the few clarification in writing cmod

    Hi All,
      I need to write a cmod by creating a new project for that. The main purpose is to define variables in it which will be used in reporting(restrictions).
    Now  I need to enhance that structure with RSR00001 code since it dealys with declaring the variables.
    But this enhancement code is being used in some other project as well, because of it I am unable to use it in my project..
    Can you please explain me how can I overcome this situation.
    Thanks,
    vinay.

    Hi Vinay,
    Write this code in CMOD :
    data:
      z_include  type program,
    Z_return.
    when others.
    * Select the include program using the variable
        perform select_include using    i_vnam
                               changing z_include
                                        z_return.
        check z_return = 0.
    * Check that include program exists
        perform check_include_program using    z_include
                                      changing z_return.
        check z_return = 0.
    * Process the appropriate variable by calling the generic form
    * 'PROCESS_VARIABLE' in the include program just selected
        perform process_variable in program (z_include)
                                 tables   e_t_range
                                          i_t_var_range
                                 using    i_vnam
                                          i_vartyp
                                          i_iobjnm
                                          i_s_cob_pro

                                 changing e_meeht
                                          e_mefac
                                          e_waers
                                          e_whfac
                                          c_s_customer.
    FORM select_include  using    p_var
                         changing p_include
                                  p_error.
      select single zinclude
        into p_include
        from zvariables
        where zvarname = p_var.
      p_error = sy-subrc.
    ENDFORM.
    form check_include_program  using    p_include
                                changing p_error.
      data:
        l_name type programm.
      select single name
        into l_name
        from trdir
        where name = p_include.
      p_error = sy-subrc.
    endform.
    Then you can create a table having two column, variable value and its corresponding program.
    You will then not need to disturb the CMOD Code.

  • Need clarification on the Hyperion stuff

    I have some clarification on the following question which i came in certification last 2 days back.
    A calcualtion is performed on a database for which create block on equation is off.The command SET CREATEBLOCKONEQ ON is issued immediately before an equation in the script.which statements accurately describe when blocks will be created?
    1) blocks will be created ONLY when the equation assigns non - constant values to members of sparse diemension.
    2)blocks will be created only when the equation assigns constant values to memebers of sparse dimension
    3)blocks will be created when the equation assignes either constant or non constant values to a members of sparse dimension
    4)No blocks will be created.
    please clarify on the above.

    Vinith,
    I suppose I could ask the obvious question: How do you happen to have a question from an Oracle certification test? I don't have access to those questions. How do you?
    In the interests of actually providing (what I at least believe) the right answer, I think this thread is confusing what the docs say with what Essbase does.
    If you use SET CREATBLOCKONEQ ON, the docs state that Essbase will create a block even with a non-constant assign. But Essbase will also create a block with a constant assignment -- it always does that. That makes the third answer correct.

Now my question is, and it's probably a stupid question, but if I bring in my four older iPods I have laying around does Apple give me a %10 discount on EACH of them, adding up to %40?

    The first iPod had the firewire port on the top & the scroll wheel actually moved.

  • Need to replace the ADC cable

    Help anyone,
    My ADC cable (20" clear cinema display to G4 mirror door ADC port) has rotted away and I need to replace it. What are my option$? Can't find the original cable anywhere on line but see a lot of the Apple DVI to ADC adaptors (eBay). (The mirror door G4 has both ADI and DVI ports). But looking at the pictures I'm not sure that'll do the trick-- it looks to me like the ADC end of it is on the power supply ... not sure how that will physically plug into the back of the display, at least it doesn't look like it will. Maybe there's an adapter needed?
    Anybody done this?

    The cable is permanently connected to the display. There are some cables for sale that may have come from broken displays, but they are for every size except the 20". One may be compatible with the 20", but you will have to open your display to see if it matches.

  • Need clarification on the addition of device driver in Installer

    I am a newbie and am building my first application (LabView 8.5.1) and need an installer with everything in it. I am unclear about what is needed for the device drivers for the DAQ board. I am using a USB6009 OEM NI DAQ.
    Do I need to include the NI-DAQmx 8.7 that I see in the Additional Installers section of the Installer builder? Were the device drivers included in the original application build or do I also need to include the driver somewhere in the installer? I see under "Hardware Configuration" in the Installer builder that I can include a "Hardware Configuration File" but I am not clear on how to do that or if it is needed. Is that how the driver gets included?
     Please  also explain how to ensure that the hardware is attached (via USB) at the proper time for the installation process or can that take place anytime after the installation.
    I am building the application on a system with Windows 2000 but the target machines will most likely be XP, is that an issue?
    I am a Chemist and not an Engineer so you need to use small words or define any big words that I have not used above.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Yes, you need to add DAQmx to your Installer for Supporting of your device on target PC.

  • Need clarification regarding Work status rule

    Hi All,
    I have a work state "Submitted" which is controlled by "owner".
    My work status is driven by following dimensions in the application:
    u2022Entity  - Owner dimension
    u2022Category
    u2022Time
    Entity hierarchy is as follows : A
                                                      |____B
                                                      |____C
    Now considering that user is owner of member "A", I set the work status to "Submitted". (Note: B and C does not have any owner)
    It gives error "controlled by rule has been violated".
    On the other side, one of the document tells states that "If the user is acting as an owner and the selected member has no parent, the user also acts as a manager (top hierarchy), they can select a work status controlled by "Owner", "Manager" or "Both"".
    Going by this rule, in the scenario which i have explained above, it should set the work status as "submitted". But it is throwing error.
    Kindly clarify if my understanding is wrong.

    Hi,
    The problem is arising because as per the setup, only the owner can change the work state to submitted. However, there are no owners for the child members.
    You can try changing the setting to manager. If you login as owner of A, then you will be able to change the work state of A (since you are your own manager because A is the top node) and you will be able to change B and C also (since you are the manager).
    Alternatively, you need to maintain the same user as the owner of B and C.
    You have rightly indicated the statement "If the user is acting as an owner and the selected member has no parent, the user also acts as a manager (top hierarchy), they can select a work status controlled by "Owner", "Manager" or "Both"".
    However, if you take a look at this statement, this is valid if the setting is manager. But in your case, the setting is owner. And there are no owners of the children.
    Hope this helps.
