Need classic games for Mavericks

Like Pong, Brickout, Space Invaders, etc.

Those games are too old to run in OS X, even with Rosetta installed.
He needs SheepShaver:
With the newer Intel Macs, you have to run a Classic emulator such as SheepShaver, which requires you to extract the Mac ROMs from your older Classic Mac and then install Mac OS 9.
A related program is Chubby Bunny, which comes bundled with all of that included (google the term "Classic-On-Intel v 4.0.1 chubby bunny").

  • Do I need ODCB drivers for Mavericks

I found an old ODCB driver installation from 2006 (OpenLink ODCB Administrator). It looks like it is not compatible with Mavericks. Is there any need for some kind of ODCB admin tool on the Mavericks installation?

Here are ODBC drivers for Mavericks.

It is, but you'd need to either install Windows first, using BootCamp or as a virtual machine using VMware Fusion, Parallels or Virtual Box or use CrossOver, which creates a Windows environment in which some Windows programs can run.

  • Classic Environment for OS X Tiger

    Hello Mac-users.
Before I got my MacBook, I used to play Diablo. Well, I wanted to play Diablo on my Mac too, but as I was about to install it, a message popped up and said, that my system could not open it. Maybe I need Classic Environment for my OS X Tiger version (10.4.10), but if I do, how will I be able to install it - if I can?
Otherwise, can anyone give me a clue on how to make my Mac 'accept' the installationsoftware?
I know this subject might have been up a few times, but I could not find other subjects that kind of answered my question.

You cannot install the Classic Environment on an Intel Mac.
There is a hack called SheepShaver (http://gwenole.beauchesne.info/projects/sheepshaver/) that has allowed some people (with difficulty) to run some OS 9 software. Personally, I think your best bet is to demand an updated version of the game from the makers.

  • Games for Mac (Snow Leopard)

    Hi,
I am really bored over Christmas Break, and I need a game for my Mac. Any recommendations? And it has to be compatible with Snow Leopard 10.6.3, 2 GB RAM, and a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Thanks.

It means I got tired of system and/or security updates breaking (whatever) game I was playing, then having the game publishers tech support tell me the (only) way to fix the problem is to downgrade the OS.
So I bought a PS2 (later a PS3) and no longer have that problem.
If I want to play, or replay, any game, irregardless of how long ago the game was published, it just works.
Therefor, if the OP has limited time to play, and as a result, may take several months to complete a game, there may be better platform options.

  • How do I find games for my ipod classic 5th gen in the itunes store? Or do they not sell them anymore?

I have looked all over but can't find any games for my ipod. Some older questions from 2010 say that it's under the apps list. Well it's not there anymore. I'm starting to think they don't sell the games anymore.  I would love it if somone could tell me for sure, or how to find them. Thank you.

    Hi
I have been looking also for games for the ipod classic.  You would have thought they would still them since they still sell the ipod classic.
Apple need to update the help guide as it still states how to look for games

  • Games for new iPOD classic

I just bougth a new iPOD classic. One friend that came to USA to Colombia bougth the iPOD and now I want to install some games. But I saw that if I want to buy games I need an account and an address from USA. I don't have that options... how can I get some games for my new iPOD classic.
    Thanks...

Um.... yeah I bought my Classic to play music on. I rarely play video games but there were two I had to buy since they were available for the classic, Ms Pacman and Tetris. I also use mine to watch videos that I purchase from iTunes, I have several TV shows seasons.
Why does it matter what I use my iPod for?

  • New software for OS X v. 10.4 needs Classic?

I have an eMac 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4 with 256 MB DDR SDRAM running Mac OS X 10.4
When I try to install software for my kids, sometimes it works great. Other times it tries to tell me I need Classic 9.0. My eMac doesn't appear to have anything in this folder. I no longer have the disks. I don't connect to the net on this computer.
Why would I need to have classic when the software specifically says it will work with my version of OS X?
My latest example is school zone's Kindergarten. I meet all the requirements, but when trying to load, it tells me i need Classic and of course, it can't start.
Any ideas that don't involve getting Classic ?

That game may be an OS 9 game that will run in Classic, but the installer requires you be booted into OS 9 to install the game. Contact the game's developer for help. Perhaps there is an OS X version of the product.
OS 9 should be on the original Software Restore discs that came with the computer or was provided with the Restore discs on a separate OS 9 installer CD. If you don't have these, then you're out of luck running anything requiring OS 9 (or Classic) unless you buy an OS 9.1 or higher full installer CD. Look for them on eBay or FastMac.com.

  • HT1977 I purchased a game on my ipod touch. I restored the device to factory settings last night and when I synced all the apps back, the game is now in the demo version. How do I unlock it ? I hope I don't need to pay for the full version again.

PES 2012 is no longer available in the US App Store and only on the British App Store currently.

That (an app no longer available) happens sometimes.
Your only way is if you have the appt on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case move it to your iTunes library and sync.

  • I have a 4g classic iPod.Suddenly almost all my games won't play and I get a message to go to the site but there is nothing there for me. Where are the games for my iPod and what has changed to make my games no longer Play?

Most of the games on my iPod classic 4g will not play anymore. I get a message that is of no help and when i synced the games they disappeared. What is going on and where have the games for iPods on iTunes gone ?

Apple removed the clickwheel games from the iTunes Store back in September.
Have you tried a hard reset of the iPod to see if that helps resolve the issue of not being able to play the games?  To do this, first make sure the Hold Switch is in the OFF position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

You cannot buy games for the iPod Classic.

  • Why is it that Apple no longer offers games for the ipod classic?

I just purchased an ipod classic and i just realized that I can't find any games for download on itunes. I also have an ipod nano and I know that Apple used to offer games for ipods other than the touch. Now they act like the touch is the only ipod that exists. I'm starting to think i should just return the ipod and go with a different brand of Mp3. My family has been telling me to get a Cowon and now I'm starting to wish i'd listened.
Thanks a lot Apple. You might be getting this product back.
