Need Color 1.5 help please

I have a project involving two cameras, one of which an HV-40 and the other an XHA1S, in which I didn't get a good white balance on the HV-40
There's a white board in the shot, and I am wondering if there's a way to adjust or isolate just whiteboard to start there. I have gone through this again and again; but can't seem to get it correct. Any advise?

Well... you might want to just stick a 3-way on it and select the auto-correct highlight on the chalkboard and go from there.
There isn't any auto adjust in Color... but that's also a good thing because it handles the ranges a little different than the 3-way. Do a quick search in the HELP section for
About Shadows, Midtones, and Highlights Adjustments
Give it a good read and then come back with any additional questions.
But a good starting point... since the highlights are 'orange'... pull the center away from orange (toward blue).

As far as I know they can't be deleted, just remove any personal info from it (credit card details etc) and stop using it.
If you downloaded any content via it then you will need to remember it and it's password, as content is tied to the account that bought/downloaded it, so if you move to a new computer you'll need to authorise the account on it if you want to use any of its content there (or if you bought apps with it you'll only be able to download updates to them via that account)

PCI 6036E/SC 2075, can read only from ch 2, need to use both. help please

I have interfaced DAQ PCI 6036-E with SC2075. I wrote a code to get data from analog input chl 1 and ch 2. I am getting data only from ch1. cables and hardware connected to sc2075 had been tested and are working properly. help please .Also, is it possible to test those channels from measurement and automation explorer and how ?.thanks

Yes, it is possible to test these analog input channels in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). To do so, expand Devices and Interfaces, right-click on the PCI-6036E, and select Test Panels. On the Analog Input tab, you can set the Channel control to any of the device's channels. If both CH1 and CH2 function correctly in MAX, you will need to troubleshoot your code.

Do the tracks show up in the Recently Added playlist? If so then something has gone wrong with the index of the Music playlist. Download the current iTunes Free Single of the Week. I know it sounds odd, but it should fix the problem. (Probably adding anything would do.)
If that doesn't work close iTunes and delete the hidden file sentinel from inside the main iTunes folder, then start iTunes again. It should run a consistency check when it starts up.

Updated & now it can't be read, need to restore (?) Help please?

Please help. This may sound stupid, but I must be tech. challenged. I just got my ipod for Christmas & I have spend night after night reading discusions trying to get it to work. My husband keeps reminding me about that 1. Initial problem, I could not transfer songs. Never resolved that 1, but at least it WAS showing up in itunes.
Now, for some reason, I've updated software (that was new to begin with) & now my ipod is not able to be read. It says restore factory settings... there was never anything put on it yet. This thing is brand new & for the price, I expected to plug it in & it does the work. Everything I read is extremely detailed. How can I fix this & get it running on "everyday language" terminology? I was unable to open the manual I downloaded (tech. challenged).

Looks like there is a conflict with different versions of ipod up-dater & itunes. My problems started when I updated from a 10/05 ed. to an 11/05 ed., thus my "ipod manager internal error". After I used my disc to reinstall, I was able restore my (still empty) ipod. Now it is showing up in itunes again! Hurray!! It will be a long time before I update again. I wonder if it is really necessary when it is brand new?
Thank you again! Now I just need to figure out how to put my 3rd party music onto my ipod. That was my initial problem I thought I was fixing by updating. It looks like it is easier to move music from my own CD's. I may be cancelling my music contract with the 3rd party.

Color management problems - help please!

Hello, I'm trying hard to understand color management and to make colors consistent throughout my workflow, and I'm failing miserably despite reading and re-reading the help files. I'd REALLY appreciate some help with my specific problems, which I'm going to detail here.
WHAT I DO
I make pictures for use on the Web. I do both this by photoshopping existing photos, and by digitally drawing and painting in photoshop starting from a blank document.
HOW MY SYSTEM IS SET UP
1) I have my monitor set to sRGB, and I've calibrated the colors using the Viewsonic calibration app that came with the monitor. The resulting colors look good, to my eyes at least.
2) I've set up Photoshop to use sRGB as the working RGB colorspace, and to convert RGB images to the working colorspace
3) I've set up Photoshop's Save For Web to embed the color profile, to Convert to sRGB, and to Preview with Use Document Profile
THE PROBLEM I'M HAVING
The preview I see in the Save For Web preview screen exactly matches the source document. However, after saving for web, the color of the jpg or gif is significantly different to that of the original document.
If I change the preview mode to Monitor Color, it does show an accurate representation of the jpg or gif that will be saved, but of course as I've explained that is drastically different to the source document.
WHAT I NEED
1) I need the output jpg or gif to match the source document
2) I need to understand what's going wrong so that I can gain some insight into this process. I'm finding it very confusing

What model of viewsonic do you have? And is it a CRT or LCD?
If it's a CRT, there are some software based "eyeball" calibrators which can get you in the ballpark. If you have an older version of Photoshop you can use the Adobe Gamma utility that was included in CS2 and earlier versions.
After that, my previous advice still stands, but the best results are still going to be to bite the bullet for a colorimeter and live with the peace of mind that will give you.
If your Viewsonic is an LCD, you're much more limited, as the eyeball calibrators were never designed for LCD's. You can try them and they may be better than nothing, but no guarantees.

Can't import xml file: "need translation document/template" - - help please

Someone edited a project with fcp 5.1. I have fcp 5.0. I've been asked to tweak the project (for no charge, which is fine with me; it's for a tiny 3rd-world charity organization).
He sent me the project files as xml documents... but when I double click on them I get a window saying they "need translation document file", or translation template. Nothing in my fcp folder or app seems to do the trick.
Can someone please advise me on this?
I did a search before posting, and noticed that someone advised someone else that xml version 2 is the better xml file to work with. I don't know whether the xml files this guy sent me are v. 1 or 2.
Any help would be very much appreciated!

IF it doesn't work... should I upgrade to FCStudio2, do you think? I didn't want to have to do that (I'm not being paid for this work, so I don't really want to go out of pocket), but if this XML2 thing doesnt' work, I'm not going to be able to do this project at all, it would seem. Which I would feel badly about.
The other thing is, I've been sort of thinking that some day I'm going to have to get FCStudio2, so maybe I should just push that day up a bit.
It would really bother me, though, if I go to the expense of getting FCStudio2, and then I still can't open these files.

Need old AirPort software--help please?

Hi. I have one of those old AirPort Base Stations that are round-ish and graphite colored. I couldn't connect to the internet so I unplugged the basestation and tried to reconnect it and none of that worked. So then I stuck a pin in the little hole at the back hoping to reset the basestation but I think I wiped it clean and now I gotta start all over. Like, reset it with a new password and all that--but I no longer have the software.
I tried to look for it at apple.com but I don't really know what I am looking for. I am getting too many results and I have no idea what version/whatever I need.
Can anyone give me a link to the page I need to download from? And do I need more than one program? I want to make my connection secure.

I keep getting this message: "The AirPort Admin Utility was unable to read the configuration of the selected base station. An error occurred while reading the configuration."
I'll do a little more research--I'm sure my parents still have the original program on their home computer so I'll email 'em and see what it's called and try to search for that in particular.
Or maybe I am just using this program that I downloaded wrong. Haha. I hate bugging my brother cuz he's always answering computer questions but if I can't get this done by myself, I'll give him another call.

You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.

False Disk Needs Repair?? Help Please!

Every maintenance app I have (MacPilot, Onyx..) keeps telling me my disk needs repair BUT when I put in my install cd and go into disk utility and do a verify disk it says my volume is okay... I am confused.
I can not run a verify disk with disk utility however, when logged on. It goes unresponsive and I have to force quit.
Also if I try to run a verify permissions while under disk utility running on the install cd, I get an error that there is no catalog??
Any help would be greatly appreciated before I make The Call for help.

I booted up to my install disk and ran disk utility verify disk and it passed.
My problems however have multiplied since my first post beyond getting that "volume needs minor repair"... my Pioneer optical drive won't read my install disk (spits it out) or any dvd formats, it only reads music cds at this point.
In fact it stopped cold reading in the middle of running disk utility from my install disk. I had to power down and power up just to get the disk out.
Methinks I have a problem requiring a trip to the Apple store.. ugh.
I always backup daily, with Time Machine and another backup program, just in case this happens.
