Need computer to recognize two separate iPods using 2 libraries on single login

I have a family who has two separate iPod 5's, and Ive created two separate libraries for them on a Windows 7 machine under the same login.
I know how to open iTunes holding the "Shift" key and double clicking the icon, but what I want (and what Apple SHOULD have coded into iTunes IMO) is for the computer to recognize which iPod is associated with a specific library, and open the correct one in iTunes when the iPod is plugged in.
Currently, it is opening the last library that was opened.  Sounds a little silly, but holding shift, and selecting the library every time is not going to fly for this family.  They are not that computer savvy.  This seems like something that should automatically be done...if not I consider it a bug in iTunes.
They are using the latest iTunes/iPod firmware.
Any help?
Thanks,

I know what you need to do!
Buy yourself a turntable and some records - you know, that vinyl stuff (that I grew up with):
When playing an album (a twelve inch LP record), there was a ceremony to go through: slipping the record carefully out of its sleeve, handling it by its edge and centre label but not the playing surface, skillfully flipping it over and round to the read the centre label, making sure you played the correct side. Then getting up every twenty minutes to flip the record over to side two, or put on a different album altogether.
And if you were a singles fan... sitting next to the record player, preparing the next 7" (seven inch) that you were going to put on; removing from the turntable, the record that had just finished, and putting the next one on in its place as quickly as possible.
A ritual in fact.
As great as vinyl was, you would then appreciate iTunes and all it has to offer.
*Flippant and light-hearted, but not sarcastic.*

How can I maintain two separate itunes accounts on one single device (iPhone 4) without erasing either set of data when syncing with itunes?

    Hi,
Depends on what you trying to setup but for purchases, you can roll down at the very end of the iTunes/AppStore pages to logout of your current account and then login into a different one.  Then your purchase will be billded to this new account.  Everything will sync as you used to but in order to use the purchased content in iTunes or other devices, you will need to authorize them (you can have up to 5 devices authorized for an account).

  • Merging two separate MUSE sites into a single MENU system and Paid & online BC eCommerce site

Hi all! I am stuck trying to figure out a Process Conundrum:
1> I have a BC site with e-commerce ready to go - paid - online with store template in place.
2> I also Have a 2nd MUSE created web site (with the client content/pages) that needs to merge with that E-commerce BC site.
What is the move to merge the two separate sites into a single site with the Menus all in proper order?
Is this simple and I can not see it? (merge the two sites in a folder and reopen in muse for new menus?
Or do i need Dreamweaver to assist in the merge?
    In other words:
What is the PATH/PROCESS to merge a 2nd MUSE designed web site (sans e-commerce), in order to tie into the online BC e-commerce template paid site - so the menus update together as "one" site?
Menu Update Concern:  merging two separate MUSE sites into a single MENU system with the "Paid on line Active BC e-commerce Template". How do it do it Process wise so that the menus adjust automatically... so they are "one" menu.
Reminds me of an old joke: Q: "What did the Buddhist say to the hot dog vendor at the ball park?"
A: "Make me one with everything!"
    ONWARD>>>>>
Possible paths I am about to take attempting to Solve the problem - and scale the learning curve...
download the BC e-commerce site into Dreamweaver -
export the 2nd muse site by publishing it to a unique folder.
combine them by going back into dream weaver and attempting to figure out linking the menus. - perhaps they are automatic there too.
or load them both up to BC and back down to MUSE to fix the menus?
I appreciate Any recommendations, hits or humor that you could help on this.
    Cheers!

Thanks, Liam... I will get it eventually...
Sadly: I do not have a budget to hire this out...
       -  I have gone through lots of the BC and Muse training exercises. Adobe
       and BC Gurus.
But... if the only problem is that I need to work though my partner site BC
    interface...
       - that would be fine...
       - so would using dream weaver....
I will go back and review the BC interface and also dreamweaver
    capabilities.
without a budget... i need to figure it out... please do point to any
material or training you might be able to point me to.
I don't have to use muse, if that is my sticking point. I just need to get
the project up and BC looks perfect.
    Thanks.

  • Keeping two separate Ipod lists in one ITunes program on one computer

Each of us has a separate Ipod, but share a computer. We like mostly the same tunes -- so have one ITunes library on the computer, but have some different tastes, so she has some tunes on her Ipod I don't like, and I have some on mine she doesn't like (so both of us use most but not all tunes in the library). We both want to keep separate track of our two Ipod lists in our computer in case (as has happened) an Ipod glitches and has to be reloaded. I can't get ITunes on the computer to accept the list of songs on my Ipod as a separate, permanent file. How can I accomplish this?

  • Can i have two separate ipods on one computer?

My husband has an ipod shuffle and I do too.  His computer is fried - can I download his tunes off his ipod onto my computer and keep them separate?

    Hello, cinruss.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Multiple users can authorize the same computer.  However, the media libraries will be combined.  The best option may be to create a new user account on the computer specific to him.  The articles below will help you with this process.

  • Can you have two separate iPods on iTunes without having the same songs?

My husband and I both have iPods but we don't want to same music on them. Really we would like to have two separate iTunes, so that I don't get his music and he doesn't get mine. Is that possible or do we just have to manually sync them?

  • How do I get computer to recognize my older ipod touch so I can Import photos?

I can't get my computer to recognize my ipod touch older model so I can import photos.

Do new model iPod connect? If not see:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    or
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
If they do then does the iPod work?
    Does it charge?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

  • Two separate calls using the same account

I just tested this to see what happened and I may be late to the party, but I didn't expect it to work.Logged in using Account 1 on my Mac and called account 2 on my iPhone. All well and good. Then I asked someone else to log into account 1 on THEIR Mac and call account 3 on their phone. It worked. Two separate calls to two diffent endpoints, at the same time, from the same account.Strange and also useful

Hi and welcome to the Skype Community,
Yes, you can have multiple simultaneous calls from one account. It's a legacy of the peer-to-peer heritage of how Skype was built to allow for that. Good to hear you find it as useful as we do.

  • Two separate itunes music libraries. Can we share purchased music

My husband and I have separate itunes music libraries on the same computer.
How can we copy itunes purchased in one music library to the other library?

  • Question regarding using two separate IPODs on same computer

I recently bought my husband an IPod since he loved mine so much. I already had ITunes on my computer (obviously), so I had him signout and then establish a separate account under his name before attaching his IPod to the computer. Once on ITunes, my library remained in the que even under his new name. He was thrilled because it saved him the issue of having to mess with downloading songs. He deleted off some songs, added others, and moved things around. Now, no matter what name you log-in under, the same library and playlists come up. Is there a way to fix this, or avoid it from here on out? I want MY LIBRARY back.

It sounds like you're talking about logging into your separate iTunes Store/Apple accounts which will only affect which of those accounts is charged for purchases.
It does not change Libraries or anything of that nature so, unfortunately, unless you made a back-up copy of your iTunes Library file before your husband started making changes, your LIbrary - as it was - no longer exists.
As for the future, you may want to have a look at this article in the Apple Knowledge Base and let us know if it brings you any combination of joy and/or satisfaction.

  • Can I run two separate ITune Accounts & Libraries and ipods on one computer

I have a friend visiting for a month and they want to use their IPod Nano and ITunes account on my computer. i.e. purchase and download their own songs via Itunes, sync with their Ipod etc. the same way they would on their own home computer, while they are here.
I already have Itunes installed on my computer for my own IPod Shuffle, and related account for buying music etc. and want to continue to sync my Ipod through my own account of course
Is there a way I can have both of these Ipods functioning fully with separate Itune accounts and libraries on my computer? How do I do this?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

OK.... I've ran into a problem and don't know how to proceed with this.
The 2nd user is set up with their ITunes account and we have successfully purchased a few songs.
What I expected to do was sync their Ipod and have the songs already on their IPod copy into the "new" Library we just set up. However, indications are that if I use "sync", it will erase the songs presently on the IPod and then only put back the few new songs we just purchased. (I tried a few other things but cannot get the songs from the IPOD into the ITunes Library or any other folder to preserve them)
    1. If it is even possible, how do I get the songs off the IPod into the newly established Library?
    2. If I indeed cannot sync the IPOD / Library - how do I get the newly purchased songs from the Library to the IPOD without erasing the songs already on the Ipod.
    Thanks, hope you can help!

  • Is it possible to sync two separate iPhones, using two separate itunes accounts on the same computer. Have not been successful so far.

We have two iPhones and two itunes accounts but one computer. The phones are 3GS but are new. I have had no luck in getting syncing the phones individually. I have called Tech Support. They sent me a link that I had already been to. This is more than frustrating.

  • Repeated 0X800CCC7D errors on Two Separate Computers using Outlook 2002 & 2003

We are having the same problem as many have reported on this website:  Error 0X800CCC7D
My wife and I have two independent computers operating on a NEW Verizon Wireless Gateway, one connected directly and one using the Wi-Fi. using Outlook my computer using 2003, wife's 2002.
Both computers are experiencing outgoing messages hanging up in our Outboxes.
Neither computer has any problem receiving messages.
This has been going on since roughly October 1, 2013.
My computer will usually send the messages if I close Outlook 2003 then reopen it.  This work around has worked for my wife's computer using 2002 for several weeks but now that doesn't work nor re-starting the computer.  The messages are just common, couple paragraph messages with no attachments.  This happens with both New messages and Replies to messages received.
Both computers have been checked, rechecked, and rechecked several times and all the settings are correct according to Verizon's latest setup instructions using:
pop.verizon.net; 995; smtp.verizon.net;465; same Verizon Online user name and Password we have always had and SSL is checked.
No other changes to our systems have been made.
This is costing both of productive time and according to this Forum MANY users have been affected with this same problem.
We are using AVG Anti-virus protection and both computers have been scanned several times by AVG, Skybot Search and Destroy, Malwarebytes and CCleaner with no found problems.  The Registry has been scanned on both computers with CCleaner and all problems have been fixed.
There have been NO CHANGES in each of these computers along with other users experiencing the same issuses so I believe this is a Verizon problem.
I might add that this is the slowest website I have been on in years.
    Please advise.

I just got off the phone with Verizon, the tech took control of my computer and checked all the settings and reset my password and Outlook still would not send messages and they collect in my Outbox.
The only way we could get Outlook to send was by Disabling AVG and that fix worked for both computers.
I thought the problem was over, but no sooner I get off the phone with Verizon I have the exact same symptoms.
I have already checked my AVG settings and it was already set to no scan outgoing emails so I don't think that is the problem.
Verizon is quick to blame the malfunction on some other source.
When I go to Tools>E-mail accounts>view or change existing email accounts>change>Test Account Settings the test email goes through on both computers.
I have updated Windows and AVG with no joy.  Virus scan pick up nothing.  Registry cleanup does not help.
Right now, the only way I can get messages to send on both computers is to close Outlook and re-open, then they send.
    Thanks for your help.
