Need confirmation of security to enter on new computer
We are going to be doing upgrades on existing system need security information on registration of software serial # J11X59580, so we can install on our office computer to upgrade application screens.
Hi Gary,
It is not very clear to me what you mean with "security information" on registration of your Lookout software.
I was looking in your serial number J11X59580 and it is described in our database as a "LOOKOUT I/O EXPANSION RE-REGISTRATION."
So, I believe what you need is the registration information, in order to obtain that, get in touch with our tech support by phone. The serial number provided by you is a re-registration number, we need to find out the original serial number and with that check if your Lookout package is a run time or a development license.
Please call 1 866 275 6964 and we will be able to help you to find out what your Key code is.
Best Regards

I need to move my library to a new computer. my music is downloaded CD's. Is the only way to do this to sync all songs to the ipod and them sync to new computer. the new computer is already authorized.
If using a Mac, use Migration Assistant to move your iTunes library from old computer to new. Afterwards you can sync from your new computer to your iPod.

How do I transfer from time machine adobe lightroom programme to my girlfriends computer (backed up on my hard drive via time machine) with out setting up my full desktop - i need it until i can afford a new computer to restore my old set up completely.
Any ideas, I can access files - i.e. jpegs of old work, but can't edit new photos...
PIf you have a license for Lightroom, you should be able to reinstall it from an installer disc or re-download it from Adobe after explaining the situation and clarifying the license issues. Either will be simpler than trying to extract and install it from a TM backup of a different Mac, I think. If it's anything like other Adobe products, it has bits and pieces all over the place that you'll have to find and put in their right places on your girlfirend's Mac.

Hi,
I'd appreciate some advice on setting up a new, actually used, iMac. I purchased a year-old iMac from a guy who left several apps and some music on the drive. Should I just use the Migration Assistant as I ordinarily would, or do I need to take some action to ensure that the info on this new computer is maintained? If used normally, will the Migration Asst. integrate the music the seller left for me into my iTune library, will it keep those files discrete from the files already in my library, or is it possible that it will toss them out?
Thanks,
spreldogI HIGHLY recommend you format the drive and reinstall the OS before you enter ANY of your info on it.
Then use Migration Assistant to get your info from your old computer to new computer. -

Need help with Westell Versalink 327w on new computer with Windows Vista
Greetings!
I'm having trouble trying to connect to my Westell Versalink 327w with my new computer. My old computer and laptop work perfectly fine in connecting to the router. However, when I plug in the Ethernet cable to the router on my new computer, the computer doesn't recognize that a connection is even established. (As if it's not actually plugged in.)
The port on the back of my computer is perfectly fine, as it works with another internet connection I have setup. The cable and router work fine on both my old computer and laptop. (In fact, I'm using the laptop to post on the forums right now.)
The Router itself shows the Ethernet connection that's plugged in as a blinking green light.
Is there a driver or some software I need to install on the new computer? Any specific settings?
I'm using Windows Vista on the new computer, and the old computers both have Windows XP. Is there some sort of complicated new setup that Vista has which is preventing the connection, or like I said, is there software or a driver that I didn't install on the new computer that's making it not recognizing the router at all?
Any help would be much appreciated!IceSage,
Hey there! Drivers would not required for an ethernet connection to the Versalink. This appears to be an issue with Vista specifically. If you have not already done so you may want to disable IPv6 in the TCP/IP settings of your LAN controller:
Network and Sharing Center > Manage network connections > Right click on "Local Area Network" > Properties > Uncheck "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) > Click "OK" > Reboot > cross fingers
Let us know if that works.

Chris

My new computer is windows 8, adobe audition is an upgrade edition, what do I need to do?
While it is iffy as to whether or not it will work with Windows 8, even if you had a full version you would not be able to install it. You need to acquire a special version of it along with the serial number for it. See the following:

Old Hard drive crashed, need to transfer music from iPod to new computer
Hello. My old hard drive crashed and I bought a new computer. Unfortunately I did not back up any files from my old computer and lost all files including iTunes music. All I have is the music from my iPod. I would like some help or if anyone knows anything about how to transfer the music from my iPod to my new computer. I guess my new computer is not the original authentic one in the itunes system and will not let me exchange music from my iPod to new computer. I would appreciate help if anyone has ideas. Thank bunches.
Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

SharePod Windows Only
iPodRip Mac & Windows
YamiPod Mac and Windows
Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay. -
Computer crashed, need to load itunes from ipod onto new computer.
My hard drive on my pc crashed. I purchased a new computer and I need to transfer all my itunes from my ipod to my new laptop. When I try, a message tells me to erase my ipod and set up new account. I purchased alot of itunes other the past two years. Is all that lost?
1). Connect your iPod to your computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are connected and your iPod is safely in manual mode there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. iTunes will only let you copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchased songs and in some cases, videos and games) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod.
