I tried ti install a pentium III on my pentiumII compaq armada m700 It fails to power up. . I need detailed and complet directions with picturesshowing how to do this..additionally getting the screws out and in was near impossibe. Any suggestion there? .I am disabled and have very poor finger and hand dexterity. Thanks for any help. I cannot thow this computer away. Money? I have none.

I'm using Ubuntu, I think version 11.2, I think it's a form of linux.. Maybe 64 bit? I have no flashplayers that I know of, I've never installed any before. I use firefox only.

When I proceed with step 2, I remain totally clueless as to which version I should pick, so I picked .rpm for other lunux, clicked download, and a window opens asking me to either "open with" Archive Manager, or "Save File."
I have absolutely no idea which to proceed with. I've tried both and nothing has happend. The file shows up as a package in my downloads, which I open and nothing but a folder with a "." appears...

HT2305 I am using an Iomega Home Network Media Server Cloud Edition. I need to know to how to install Bonjour to the Iomega so that it will run my TiVo Desktop Program to transfer media files to/from the TiVo units to/from the Home Network Drive. Help ?

TiVo support has already advised me that Bonjour Browser is needed so that the TiVo can communicate with the Iomega. The Iomega already has installed Apples' AFP protocol.
The only way that I can currently transfer or access any files on the Iomega Home Network Cloud Drive with TiVo is if the folder on the Iomega Drive is listed in the TiVo Desktop Plus software that runs the TiVo server. This means that my laptop has to be continually running non-stop for files to transfer or for me to access them.
I am looking for a way where TiVo will recognize the Iomega Home Network Server just as it recognizes the other TiVo unit on my home network. TiVo menus have a place for adding an app that is TiVo compatiable; however, I have not been able to find any.
Can someone please help? TiVo has advised me that there 3rd Party software out in tech world that is capable of running the Tivo Desktop Server better than the TiVo Desktop Server Plus program itself but I have been unable to locate it..

I'm not extremely technical savvy but can work my way through most things. I would like to set up my wife's iPhone email so she can receive (and respond to) her company emails on her iPhone. What options do I have and how do I do it?

I like the idea that any responses using the iPhone would look like the business email address to the recipients (and presumably any response made would go to the business email address?). Can I do this on a Yahoo email account, or it only something available on Gmail accounts?

I am attempting to install Solaris 10 on an old Compaq Armada M700, prior to trying for 'real' on an IBM I am hunting for on eBay.
It only has 192M of RAM, but running the graphical installer is okay. However, I soon get the following msg:

then a # prompt...
Just wondering if this is a result of the small amount of RAM, or some other problem.

I have also an old M700 with 192MB memory and an 700MHz processor. My problem is, that the notebook boots from the self-made CDs, but it stops when Solaris search the configuration. Maybe you have an hint for me?

You can use the optical drive on another computer to create an ISO image of the System Builder DVD.
E.g., on another Mac that does have an optical drive, insert your Windows 8 System Builder DVD, open Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities), select the DVD on the left side, click "Create Image", select CD/DVD Master and no compression. It will create a file with a ".cdr" extension but you can simply rename to ".iso".
Once you have the ISO, run BootCamp Assistant. It will have an option to create a bootable USB drive (specifically for systems that don't have optical drives), and you can point that at your shiny new ISO image. You'll need at least an 8GB external USB drive.
More notes:
- Only the Win 8 UPGRADE is available for download from the Microsoft Store. For a new install (i.e. you don't have Win7 or XP already), you will definitely want the OEM/System Builder version instead, which is only available from retail stores -- Office Depot, Staples, Amazon, etc.

I have one of the last generation Macbooks and my hard drive died on me again. this the second hard drive and I only have the device for 1 year and 10 months.
Last time it fell under warranty but that has expired by now. So I am left with following questions:
1) Is it normal for a Macbook to kill 2 hard drives in less then 2 years? Could it be somthing about my Macbook specific or the way that I use it?
2) I don't really feel like spending at least 200 euro's at my Apple reseller to have a new hard disk installed... So I was wondering:
2.a which hard drives are suited for my type Macbook
2.b where do I find them / at which price (within Europe / Belgium)
2.C where do I find a manual about how to install it myself?

Hard drives do fail. That is an inescapable fact and a primary reason why backups are always recommended.
Two hard drives to fail within two years, although unusual, would have nothing to do with your Mac and more to do with the actual hard drive.

Replacing the hard drive in your model MacBook is very easy. Instructions on how to do so are even in the User's Manual that came with your MacBook. If you no longer have the manual, you can download it from here:

Additionally there are also excellent tutorials on youtube - just type something like "MacBook hard drive replacement" or similar in the search field.
Internal 2.5" SATA hard drives can be bought virtually anywhere and are very cheap - a 500GB internal 2.5" SATA hd, for example can be found on-line for as little as 50 Euros (maybe less).

How to install ssd in iMac9,1

I see that OWC and other vendors offer solid state drives for my iMac, but they don't explain or show how to install this device. Does it replace my internal hard drive or work with it somehow? I am interested in speeding up my computer's performance especially when working in iPhoto and iMovie where I have tens of thousands of image files. Right now it takes forever just to boot up these applications, and once up, they frequently crash. I have installed the max RAM for my machine (2 x 4gb ddr3).

An iMac 9,1 is an early 2009 model. That should be before Apple started using proprietary hard drive cables, so you can install the SSD to replace your hard drive. This OWC video tells you how to do that (of course you'd need the 3.5" frame to put the smaller SSD into, and OWC offers that). Otherwise, it's no different than replacing the hard drive. You might want to confirm with OWC that the early 2009 iMacs don't have the proprietary hard drive cable. I'm pretty sure those didn't come into play until late 2009.
One other thing, you should know what SATA speed your system supports, which is probably SATA I or SATA II. I put an SATA III speed SSD in a mac mini which supports SATA II speeds, and it ran at SATA I speed. Swapped it out for an SATA II drive, and it runs just fine at SATA II speeds. They are supposed to be backwards compatible, however that's at least one exception. You can see your speed in about this mac, more info, system report, then serial ATA.

How to install Java3d into netbeans 6.5

I recently downloaded the Java 3D file : j3d-1_5_2-xxxxxx but I don't really know how to "install" it. I looked and found a thing on how to insall it on netbeans but the place they are telling me to go to doesn't exist. I am using netbeans 6.5 and supposedly you are supposed to install the J3D.nbm or something into netbeans but i can't find that inside of my downloaded folder. Is there something I did wrong i.e. downloaded the wrong thing, are looking in the wrong place, are missing somthing please tell me.

while installing the business content objects u have to select the dataflow before and after in gruping , after that u have to select the only which SD data source u want to install, and same way selet the queries .
