How do I transfer purchases/transfer uploaded personal CD music to a new laptop? I've logged in and authorized my new computer in iTunes, but get numerous "!" cannot locate errors for almost my entire library of 6000+ songs! ITunes Match appears inoperable as well.

I haven't had a laptop in years and have been backing up my iPhone solely on the icloud. I now have a new laptop and would like to access old photos and videos from my old icloud backups. How may I do that on this new windows laptop?

Since you have iCloud available you also can use a service called My Photo Stream. See this article -

This will allow you to see all of your photo and video content on devices using it.

How do I transfer my music from my ipad to my new windows laptop?

I just got a new Asus laptop running windows .1, I downloaded itunes onto it, but can't do a USB sync or else it erases my data on my current ipad.
I just got icloud as well on all computers including the new Asus, but how do I move music from my ipad into the icloud and then onto the Asus so I have my music there too?

Getting a new Windows laptop to join my Mac network

I have 2 macbooks (Mountain Lion) and a XP laptop connected wirelessly to a time capsule...(the 2 macs backup) and I get my wireless signal from the TC. There is also an HP wireless printer which all three computers can print to.   I am replacing my Windows machine (which I like to use for work) with one running Windows 8. (I know, I know - but it was a great buy and I need to connect to my work server - and no, I did not want to dual boot or use parallels as it defeats the pupose of having a mac - as far as I'm concerned).
When I originally put my windows XP machine on the network, I believe, I just used the disc that came with the time capsule and the printer (for mac and PC) and it installed the proper software - I believe it was bonjour, the printer software, and airport (did that come from TC setup?). I don't quite understand what airport and bonjour do. I THINK bonjour finds the printer and macs? and Airport connects to the TC for internet - Am I on track?
Since I have a new Windows OS on my new laptop, what do I need to connect to the time capsule? I ***-u-me the CDs won't work as the drivers are older. The windows machine does not back up to TC - but there is a small space on the TC that I am able to copy pictures from my Windows computer to the TC for backup purposes.    Basically, I need to connect to the Internet and my wireless printer. Connecting to the TC would be awesome and sharing with the macs would be great as well. The new computer is supposed to have software to grab files and settings from my old windows computer. Will that set me up automagically? Pretty close. Bonjour does help "find" Macs or printers for the PC, especially if those printers are attached to the AirPort's USB port. The AirPort Utility, on the other hand, is only required if you plan on administrating the AirPort from your PC, otherwise, you don't need to install it. You can find both Bonjour and the AirPort Utility for Windows from the Apple Support Downloads site.

For basic wireless access, your PC just needs a wireless adapter. Windows 8 already has the right software to provide wireless capability for the device. For accessing the TC's internal or externally attached HDDs, again the PC has the right software to do so right "out of the box." PC use the SMB protocol to "talk" to network drives. Your TC supports this file sharing protocol. Accessing the TC would be no different than any other network file share. You would do so through Windows Explorer.

Purchasing New Windows Laptop

I have had lots of trouble running iTunes on my old Celeron based Presario. My dad is going to buy me a new, Centrino based Windows laptop (I know, I already asked him for a Mac and he said no).
Can anyone recommend a make, model and minimum configuration for my new Windows computer, one that works successfully with iTunes? I'm only interested in hearing from people who have a positive experience to share (sorry, my dad says misery loves company, but now we want to get past all that).

If your going to use it just for basic music playing with iTunes and some video things, and your getting a laptop with intel centrrino, all you want to pay close attention to is your RAM and harddrive space. Most PCs now come with atleast 512MB of Ram if not more. that will be enough.
On the harddrive side, most laptop harddrives are pretty small I think. You can always get an external harddrive to connect to it tho.

New Windows laptop fails to print to Mac-shared printer

I prevoiusly had a shared HP DeskJet 5900 shared from my PowerBook G4 to a Toshiba Windows laptop via Bonjour. The printer was set up as a generic Postscript printer and printing worked fine.
I replaced the PowerBook with a MBP C2D and the Windows laptop with a Sony Vaio, and this same printing arrangement no longer works. Setting up the printer in Windows goes fine. The Bonjour printer setup assistant finds the shared printer just fine, and set-up appears to succeed, but printing from any Windows app fails with the error message, “Printing failed because an error occurred.”
What am I doing wrong?

Yes, it’s Standard/Generic Postscript, although I also tried setting it up with the appropriate printer-specific Windows driver with the same result.
It might be worth checking Console in the MBP to see
if there is a better explanation as to what is going
wrong. The cups error log may be helpful (providing
the spool file is getting to the MBP).
Good idea. Unfortunately nothing shows up on Console. I suspect the connection is failing entirely on the Windows end.
However, the connection does work on the file-sharing level. In a Windows Explorer window, I can successfully browse \\[Mac name]\ and see the printers as well as shared files

New Windows laptop recommendations for CS6

Hi,
I need some recommendations on new laptop that can run Web and Design Premium CS6, and some places where I could purchase or get it custom made. I mainly use InDesign, Photshop, Illustrator, and some Dreamweaver. I like fast computers. I need a laptop for mobility. I will have an external monitor at one location I use it at. I need a Windows computer because of some other programs our workplace uses are only available on the PC. I also do some audio editing of voice files, not music. Price is not the deciding factor. It is getting the best running computer I can get that will last me several years, that does what I need with out being overkill. I was looking at Origin-PC and also ADK Video Editing and @Xi, the latter two are focused more on video editing, which I am not going to be doing on this computer. Any other recommendations of places to buy from, and what specs I should look for...like if you were going to build a laptop that could run all those programs well, and last, what would you put in it if price wasn't a factor?

Sync with new windows laptop

I had a laptop I used to Sync with my iPhone 5 and I no longer have access to it. I purchased a new laptop with Windows 8 and iTunes loaded but I need to have iPhone files (music, photos, videos, apps, etc.) to be transferred to the library. I believe in an older version of iTunes you could opt for the device have priority over the iTunes library but it doesn't seem to have that feature anymore (if it ever did).
I downloaded a free app (AVGO) and backed up all the files (except for the apps!!!) to my laptop. It also gives you the option to export the files to iTunes library but I don't think it did! I don't have any Photos in iTunes (there's no option for Photos at all!) and my playlists don't show.
Is there a painless way to sync the laptop to my iPhone 5? It is bizarre that iTunes does not provide that functionality! Thank you in advance

Carolyn - thanks, but I had already authorized my new laptop. When I try to Sync, essentially nothing happens - for about a second iTunes says it's synchronizing my iPod, which it recognizes as mine, but then the iPod immediately says it's ready to disconnect. The iPod has about 65 gigabytes of songs on it and for several years, with my old, original laptop, when I synced, iTunes would update any new downloads and playlists onto the iPod. Since I got the new laptop, I have about 2-3 GB of new music on it and a few new playlists and they won't update to my iPod. I hate to have to "restore" the iPod, which I think overwrites everything on the iPod and would likely take 3-4 hours at the 1 song per second figure I've seen quoted, but if that's the only way to do it, I guess I can. Any other suggestions?
