Hi All,
I am basically for oracle DBA experience, and now i am willing to learn the oracle Exadata and do the certification in it?
Can someone please tell whether will it be useful to my career wise ?
Is there any documentation online available , if yes please provide the link ?
Is there any documentation available for preparing the ceritfication ?

Hi Exadata is more over a complete solution of hardware, network and database engineered together for better performance and managability. More information you can get it in the below link. Also it works with 11g and some features are exclusive to exadata in 11g which one has to know.

We do not know whether you need to but we can advise you with respect to the issues.
1. If you have a bug in 10.2.0.3 that is fixed in 10.2.0.4 then you should.
2. If you do not wish to work with software in desupport mode you should really be thinking about moving to 11.1.0.7 before August 1st.
3. If the application supported by your database supports a higher, more recent, version of Oracle then you should.

Need details for the following feilds

Need mapping feild names ECC vs BI for these feilds..
1)Journal Header ID and Line Number
2)Journal Entry Line Description
3) Journal Entry Header ID and
4)Journal Entry Name
I have a requirement to send these details details to the legacy system from the BI system.
So, I need to get these deatils from the ECC and then I can transfer these details to other system.
I am unable to find these deatils on the Stanadard GL Extractor :0FI_GL_14 - GL Line Item Details.

Need details about the BI repository migration

I have a requirement coming my way, although I am not working in Technology related to BI , my client insists me to do some BI repository migration.
His requirement was that he has already done the cloning part of the DB, now all he wants is , the BI repository needs to be reproduced from the current server to another server.
Kindly let me know any pointers for this BI repository migration.

First and foremost the contents and folders that are created in Folders_g in PS4 has to be migrated as is to a PS5 instance (where folders_g is installed) . After that under Folder (Framework folder) administration there is a migration utility which willl move the set of contents from Folders_g to Folders .

I'm looking for detailed specification of Toshiba Tecra A50 (PT634E-00800JPL).
I need to know what is the version of internal SATA port.
Is this SATA II or SATA III ?
I want to change the hard disk to SSD and buy the most suitable one.

Such tools provide you all essential information about the built in parts and the HDD controller.

Thanks for your reply. In the application I used weblogic JDBC driver for Sybase when it was developed in 11.1.1.1.0 version.
The following are the extries in bc4j.xcfg file:
jbo.sql92.JdbcDriverClass="weblogic.jdbc.sybase.SybaseDriver"
jbo.TypeMapEntries="Java"
jbo.SQLBuilder="SQL92"
Now I have changed the JDBC to Sybase jConnect (jconn4.jar) and driver class is com.sybase.jdbc4.jdbc.SybXADataSource and other entries remains the same as it was before.

Need details about the Snap to Grid function

I wanted to repair a problem in a guitar track, So I opened a new track and recorded over the problem. I though that with the Snap to Grid function I could slide the new version on the old track without having to worry about the region moving horizontally. That's what's happening, it is impossible to move the track without changing the timing of the track.
Is it normal?

the above job created to run on daily at 12:00 am but having 100 recordds in the DB e.g
user next_run_date
123 31-dec-2009 (have 100 records like the same)

once the report runs it only processes the 5 records and rest of the 95 records leaves as unprocessed. we thought it the queries might be slower and after the time change it might skipp rest of them. we tried chaing the scheduled job 12:10AM
still seeing thw same issue.
would it be possible to help?

No version number and I, at least, have no idea, what the issue is.
Assuming the job runs the issue is the proc of which you provided no information whatsoever.

Hi Rashmi,
Try to narrow down the output by using more and more variable & providing more & more inputs to those variable and system should show you the output .
Also check the read mode of the query in RSRT -> Properties , it should be set to "H".
Try to minimize no. of characteristics in "Rows" area of the query, put them all in Free characteristics.

In dis tab the classifications of the individual material is stored.
I want to know where it is stored in the database (i.e the table name where dis data is stored) since i am not getting the Tech Info. 4 it.

Need help connecting to Oracle 7

Hi!
My name is Patrick and I have a question regarding Oracle 7. First I need to clarify that I usually don't work with Oracle products at all and there I'm a total newbie in this area; please be gentle! :)
I work for a company that installs/builds/integrate healthcare systems, and we have now encountered a problem that involves Oracle 7. We need to create a connection between a workstation with a Oracle database (version 7) provided by another company and a product of ours using ODBC. We have been in contact with the other company that informed us that we need to install the Oracle 7 ODBC driver that is found on a Oracle Client CD. The problem is that this CD is gone and the customer wasn’t even aware of it. As I understand it there is no way of just downloading and installing the driver by itself, but you need the Oracle installer - is this correct?
Anyway, what would the quickest solution for this problem? Is it even possible to buy Oracle 7 nowadays? Would a later version than 7 work?

In theory it is possible with a 9.0.1 client (but not with 9.2). See note 207303.1 in Metalink.

If this is true, you can download ODBC 9.0 from here

A 9.0.1 is more difficult to find, but it might be included as part of some other product, eg an old version Discoverer Desktop (such as 4.1 or 9.0.4)
