i am interested in learning Oracle business intelligence system, plz give me info of related documents - where to find them in Oracle site.

1) All product docs are at http://tahiti.oracle.com
2) Study materials and methods could be discussed in the Certification forum
3) Please don't ask for download of Oracle class student course notes as distributing that is illegal
4) What you need to study is available at http://education.oracle.com > Certification > Exams
5) Sybex and Oracle Press books, if available, are good resources.

    Hi Sanjeev,
At first not able to understand what you need to create doc for po.
in SAP below is the requriement to create PO, by considering you have organizational elements created.
    1) Material Master - create in MM01.
    2) Vendor Master - create in XK01
    3) Source List - ME01 } Source list & PIR is not mandatory to create a PO.
    4) PIR - ME11 }
Then go to T-CODE ME21N as yogesh mentioned, enter your vendor system will ask for organizational data, enter co.code, pur group, pur organization.
enter material code, qty, price, plant click on check & save, system will give you PO number.
PS : Kindly note by asking a question you will get answer in this forum & it is professional to awarad points or not. don't think if you mention you will award points you get better response or quick response.

  • API Doc for oracle.forms.ui and oracle.ewt available (Forms 9.0 PJC)?

    Hi there,
where can I get the Java Docs for the oracle.forms.ui and oracle.ewt Packages for implementing Forms 9.0 PJC?
Where can I get more docu about building PJCs? Found already some samples and
    Thanks, Markus

At this time, the JavaDoc for these classes is not available.
As a general rule you will find that the Methods and properties of the underlying oracle.ewt.* classes closely mirror the equivilent java.awt.* classes, so you should be able to gain a bit more information that way.
And yes setDropDownVisible does pop the combo list down, but it's a protected method which might be why you're having problems with it?

  • DO I need SFRAC for Oracle 10g RAC  on Sun Solaris

My platform is SUN Solaris 10 64 bit on v490 server. On the backend side, we are using EMC CX500 storage. We will use Veritas File system and Veritas CFS.
I would like to ask, Do I must need SFRAC to configure Oracle 10g RAC or Can I just use only Oracle CRS. I do not want to use ASM.
    Please advise
    Thanks,
    Sam..

The VCFS usually requires a Veritas Cluster, thus you would have to use the product combination that is bundled as SFRAC as mentioned before. Metalink in addition says:
10      10gR2 64-bit      Veritas Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC      5.0      Certified
There is one exception to this rule: Linux.
Veritas and Oracle support a standalone version of the Veritas Cluster Files System (and only this component) on Linux. This does not hold true for Solaris.
Concluding, if you want to use the VCFS you would need to get a VCS, which then basically means using SFRAC.
However, in this case, as mentioned before, you would not need ASM.

  • Need docs. for IDoc & RFC

    Hi All,
Please help me with documents of IDoc & RFC.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sree

    Hi,
    Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
    *Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
    *IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.
    How to create idoc?
*WE30 - you can create a IDOC type

To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30 )
    Create Message Type ( WE81 )
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82 )
    Creating a Segment
    Go to transaction code WE31
Enter the name for your segment type and click on the Create icon
    Type the short text
Enter the variable names and data elements
    Save it and go back
Go to Edit -> Set Release
Follow steps to create more number of segments
    Create IDOC Type
    Go to transaction code WE30
Enter the Object Name, select Basic type and click Create icon
Select the create new option and enter a description for your basic IDOC type and press enter
Select the IDOC Name and click Create icon
The system prompts us to enter a segment type and its attributes
Choose the appropriate values and press Enter
The system transfers the name of the segment type to the IDOC editor.
Follow these steps to add more number of segments to Parent or as Parent-child relation
    Save it and go back
Go to Edit -> Set release
    Create Message Type
    Go to transaction code WE81
Change the details from Display mode to Change mode
After selection, the system will give this message “The table is cross-client (see Help for further info)”. Press Enter
Click New Entries to create new Message Type
    Fill details
    Save it and go back
Assign Message Type to IDoc Type
    Go to transaction code WE82
Change the details from Display mode to Change mode
After selection, the system will give this message “The table is cross-client (see Help for further info)”. Press Enter.
Click New Entries to create new Message Type.

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
    Outbound Process
    Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
    Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
    Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
    Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

FOr testing you can use WE19.
    RFC and BAPI:
RFC is Remote Function Call - a function module, which can be called remotely from outside
BAPI is also a Remote enabled function module but the difference between BAPI and RFC is in BAPI there is a bussiness object attached to it which calls SAP application internally.
can you explain RFC and BAPI???
The difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.
RFC is the protocol used to call functions in an R/3 system by a caller external to R/3 or to call programs external to R/3 from an R/3 system. Functions can only be called via RFC, if they are tagged as RFC functions in the SAP development workbench. They are then called RFC function modules. BAPIs are complete sets of (BAPI) function modules that model a business application.
RFC is the protocol used by SAP for remote communication, that is, for communications between remote independent systems.RFC is used for communications between two independent SAP systems, or for communications between an SAP system and a non-SAP system, such as an external application. It can also be used for communications between modules on the same system.Using the RFC interfaces you can extend the functionality of R/3 applications from an external program.
An R/3 system also contains Business Application Programming Interfaces (also called Business APIs, or BAPIs), which provide a programming interface to business objects. BAPIs are a set of methods for working with and manipulating SAP business objects.Internally, BAPIs are implemented as function modules stored in the R/3 Function Builder. Each BAPI has an equivalent internally-named function module. However, you should use the BAPI and not the function module behind it, because the BAPI provides a stable, object-oriented view of R/3 applications and data. The internal function modules or even the fact that the BAPIs are implemented as function modules are not guaranteed to remain the same in future releases of R/3.
BAPI stands for Business Application Programming Interface.
It is a library of functions that are released to the public
as an interface into an existing SAP system from an external
    system.
RFC is the protocol used to call functions in an R/3 system
by a caller external to R/3 or to call programs external to
    R/3 from an R/3 system.
Functions can only be called via RFC, if they are tagged as
RFC functions in the SAP development workbench. They are
then called RFC function modules. BAPIs are complete sets of
(BAPI) function modules that model a business application.
When you are familiar with web developments: RFC can be
compared to HTTP and BAPIs are CGI applications.
In other words: A BAPI function is a function module that
can be called remotely using the RFC technology.
RFC and BAPIs are remote enabled function modules. They are practicly the same. A BAPI is one step further as it usually is a self contained business function, such as "Create Purchase Order", or "Change Sales Document". BAPIs interface is very well defined and documented. BAPIs can be found in the BAPI browser via transaction BAPI. RFCs are just remote enabled function modules.
BAPI stands for Business Application Programming Interface. It is a library of functions that are released to the public as an interface into an existing SAP system from an external system.
RFC is the protocol used to call functions in an R/3 system by a caller external to R/3 or to call programs external to R/3 from an R/3 system. Functions can only be called via RFC, if they are tagged as RFC functions in the SAP development workbench.
BAPIs are RFCs, the only difference is that BAPIs usually encapulate some complete business object. For example, creating a sales order, the BAPI would do all of the steps required to create a sales order.

    Shiva.
