Strange! Driver is definitely there. Go to download page and redefine search for Windows Vista. Go to page 3 and check the first driver listed there.

Problem: Webcam is not working and when Camera Assistant Software is started up, the Error message, "Webcam driver open fail" pops up.

In troubleshooting, I have unsuccessfully tried the following: Changed the webcam driver several times, rolled back driver, updated driver, and tried Chicony 2.0 USB driver, and a few other webcam drivers. The webcam initially worked fine, but about a month after installing and using Skype video, the webcam suddenly stopped working and on reboot I got the error message.
I've stopped Skype and Camera Assistant Software at startup and manually start them, as someone suggested this as a solution. I've uninstalled both and reinstalled several times. I've tried one software without the other installed... trying every possible arrangement for a solution, to no avail.
I called Customer Support and John, although very nice and patient, was not helpful. He said he'd research and call back. Didn't.
I've gone to Chicony website to try to find an more current driver than January 07. When I let Windows install the latest from the web, it installs a Microsoft 2006 driver. I don't think it's a hardware issue, as it started acting up after Skype installed. I also tried System Restore, but that didn't work either.
Suggestions?

Thanks Jerry. I spent hours going through the links you provided and tried some of the suggestions looking for a solution. Nothing worked.
I tried uninstalling Toshiba's Camera Assist software and Skype (Skype initially seemed to be the instigator of the problem), completely removing both from the registry, and removing the webcam with Device Manager. Then I made sure Vista was up to date, and then installed the latest Toshiba Camera Assist software from the Toshiba download page. After installation and rebooting, I'm getting the same error message: "Webcam driver open fail."
The webcam used to work, before we installed Skype and used it a few times. From the other posts I've read, it does seem to be a common problem... usually after Skype or another webcam-using software is installed and run.
We have another Toshiba laptop: A215-S4757, that has the same OS and webcam-using programs, and it does not have an issue. Apparently though , after going through all the links on the European message board, you provided, the L305 model is having a problem.
Open for suggestions.

Been all over, and have had nothing but frustration from trying to use the cumbersome and largely useless Toshiba 'help' services.
If anyone can help, I need specs for the Satellite i3 C50-A-1DV.
I have looked for an hour now and I can find nothing.

Googling around I found follow information: Your notebook model can be upgraded up to 16GB.
Compatible RAM modules that you can use are as follow:
2GB DDR3-1600 - PA5037U-1M2G
4GB DDR3-1600 - PA5037U-1M4G
8GB DDR3-1600 - PA5037U-1M8G
Using these part numbers you can find full specification but it must be DDR3 1600MHz.
I recommend you to use compatible and high quality RAMs only.

i'm having a satellite L305-S5902 now. everything's ok untill i found that the sound is really terrible. the sound was so low that i could not here anything clearly when i enjoyed my DVDs.
i'm wondering that i can buy a soundcard for my laptop or not, and if i can, which one should i buy? thanks for any help.

I presume your notebook is an European notebook model and you must not search the drivers on Canadian site. Just go to http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com 'Support & Downloads. For older notebook models (like yours) you should as product type choose Archive.

The Satellite M40x is pretty old notebook and therefore you have to search in *Archive* for drivers. Thats all!
Then you can see and download all drivers for it.

I have a Satellite M115-s3094, I had problems with my OS which was Windows XP MCE but I could not fix it. So I got fed up and loaded in windows XP Professional, but a lot of my drivers have gone.
The drivers I require are for Ethernet controller, network controller, PCI device, flash memory, SM bus controller, USB controller, video controller....plus I have no sound. It is an Intel centrino duo...as you can see I am missing a lot of drivers.
Could anyone tell me how can I find out what kind of drivers I need and where do I get them from? Would Win XP SP2 installation help to install any of these drivers?
Any help at all would be very much appreciated...

I have the same problem. I just need the drivers for the Ethernet controller and PCI device. I assume that the PCI device is the wireless card.
I have tried all of the drivers on the Toshiba website, but none seem to work.
Please help us out.

Need manual for Satellite A40-702

My daughter has been given a SA40 702. The problem is it's the bit worse for wear, keys missing from the keyboard, DVD drive problems. These are not insurmountable.
The main problem is that the manual has been lost. Does anyone have a link to a down-loadable version please?

But therefore I would contact your local ASP. Have did this?
Maybe the ASP in your country can order this part for you
In worst case you must sent the notebook to an ASP in USA.

I would like to find the manual for this notebook (Satellite S2610CDT/6.0) but i can't find it on the Toshiba-site.
It is for a friend and he likes to internet with it but the notebook has no network-entrance. So I would like to find out if it is still possible.

Need keyboard for Satellite 4080 XCDT

Hi,
on my Keyboard the left buttens (TAB, q,a,y,CAPS) are defect. But If I press "<shift>-a" a "L" appears on the screen, so I think the buttons are not broken, maybe a chip in the keyboard or notebook.
I want to buy a new keyboard, where can I get one cheap?
Which keyboards(from which Toshiba-modells) fit in my Notebook too? ( for ebay search ;-) )

I am salvaging an old a105 s2101. The case is destroyed, at least the top is, including the keyboard and mouse.
What other models have a case that is compatible?

You might try www.toshiba.com, customer service and see what they can offer, or try www.toshibapartsstore.com, or www.laptopka.com as another option. Some models in A105 series 2111,2121 from the picture seem close, but better off asking from tosihba what could work best for you.
