I've lost the installer CD for DX 2004 MX for Windows.
Can some kind soul point me to where I can download the
installer?

Some users have reported success with obtaining older installers by following the directions listed at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369. If you are successful I would recommend making a back up of the install files in case you need them again in the future.

I need help regarding installation of Netweaver. When ever i am running setup.exe, i am getting a page asking for local host and port number as 21212. When I enter my local host name and the port number as 21200 i am getting the error message given below and the installation stops. I am not able to proceed further. can any one help me what i need to do here. I created MS lookupadapter and entered my static ip address in 'host' file after 127.0.0.1 localhost and i disabled port number 3201 in system file. I verified system variables also. Everything is fine. I dont have firewall or antivirus installed in my system. Is there any thing else i need to do. please help me. Thanks in advance.

Run the sapinst.exe with the port 21212.This port 21212 is the default port used during the installation of netweaver.

Disk Space of a new 2004s installation

Hello guys,
i want to build up a test system on a linux vmware system (no development system - a test system for us)...
So i need to know the disks space that a "empty" installation is using?
How many disk space is used in case of a new 2004s installation?

It depends upon which it scenario you are choosing, for example whether it is ABAP or ABAP + JAVA , usage types ( EP / BI / PI / MI.. etc) you have selected, and so on ... You can use Installation Guide to calculate minimum required space for different scenarios.
Blank installation of ECC 6.0 system takes around 73 GB of space.

I am about to install IDES ERP 2004 on a test desktop system and I would like to know if I also need to install solution manager, any suggestions?

Welcome to SDN!
You can find the guide for ERP 2004 installation at
http://service.sap.com/instguides -> ERP 2004. Its
the same as a DB instance isntallation. You just have to
provide the IDES DVDs. No need to install the solution manager.

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

Need help with installation

I recently received a laptop from school to access my online classes. When I tried to use Adobe Reader I received the following message: Adobe Reader 9.1 has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience. I tried tech support at school and was told to uninstall and reinstall the program. During the installation process I received the following error: Error 1321 The installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file C:/Program Files/Adobe/Reader 9.0/Reader/Onix32dll. I need this program for school. Can some one please help me.

It's my pleasure to provide assistance when I can :•) Having just recently graduated after 7 years of effort just to get a 2-year degree, I can relate to needing software to get class work accomplished. I will do everything I can to make it happen for you today.
Since you didn't mention, the UAC setting, I'd like you to disable it for me if it isn't already:
1. Open Control Panel
2. Under User Account and Family settings, click on the "Add or remove user account"
3. Click on any user account
4. Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.
5. Under "Make changes to your user account", click on the "Change security settings" link
6. In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Click on the Ok button.
7. You will be prompted to reboot your computer - do so when ready
You may need to uninstall/reinstall Reader after the reboot in order for the problem to go away, but that part I am not certain of. Try to duplicate the issue prior to taking that step.
If you are unable to resolve issues with Adobe Reader, I recommend using a different reader that has much less bloat and is updated regularly:

FoxIT is a FREE alternative to using Adobe's Reader. Support for free Adobe products is limited forums such as this. The same holds true for open source alternatives except the manufacturer usually helps support their forums while Adobe doesn't monitor this forum or any like it. I know how important it is for you to focus on your classes so don't beat your head against a wall just because Reader won't work when a viable solution exists.

Are you sure it is not already there? In system preferences/international/language, don't you see simplified Chinese on the list? It is supposed to be there. You just move it to the top and restart to put the OS into that language.
Missing language packs can also normally be installed by running the Language Translations installers found in the OptionalInstalls.mpkg of the Leopard DVD.

Why does ERP 2004 installation fill up 30G of SQL data?

Step 2 of mySAP ERP 2004 installation is to create "database instance." I just finished doing that (after running it overnight). Now I see that the installation has taken up 30G of SQLServer database space.

C:\SIDData2 - 10G
C:\SIDData3 - 10G
C:\SIDLog - 2.5G
I am a novice when it comes to SAP installations. This actually is my first successful installation. However, I am just curious on what the heck is being stored in the database that takes up this much space. More importantly, is there anything I can do to reduce the footprint? Are there things I can safely get rid of?

Among the alternatives not mentioned... Using a TiVo DVR, rather than the X1; a Roamio Plus or Pro would solve both the concern over the quality of the DVR, as well as providing the MoCA bridge capability the poster so desperately wanted the X1 DVR to provide. (Although the TiVo's support only MoCA 1.1.) Just get a third-party MoCA adapter for the distant location. Why the hang-up on having a device provided by Comcast? This seems especially ironic given the opinions expressed regarding payments over time to Comcast. If a MoCA 2.0 bridge was the requirement, they don't exist outside providers. So couldn't the poster have simply requested a replacement XB3 from the local office and configured it down to only providing MoCA bridging -- and perhaps as a wireless access point? Comcast would bill him the monthly rate for the extra device, but such is the state of MoCA 2.0. Much of the OP sounds like frustration over devices providing capabilities the poster *thinks* they should have.

this error simply comes, because the architecture of your computer is not the same as the one from the test drive. As I'm not sure, which architecture the N4S test drive uses, we simply have one of the following situations here. Either
your machine is x86_64 and the N4S is i386 or
your machine is i386 and the N4S is x86_64.
