Take Latch as a librarian which you need to get your book form a library. Library is a big place so to get your book, you need to access librarian. That's latch does for you. It is used to access a memory area to find your desired stuff, be it a buffer or a cursor. It is used in exlcusive basis just like no 2 people can ask for the librarian to get their books at the same time.
Enqueue is like a watchman( can't think of anything else) whose job is to take care that you are going to get teh resource when you need.

Need more than 2 states for MSO and rotation to work correct?

Hi,
I have a folio with images that I show in zoom mode with a MSO state.
After finishing the vertical version of the folio I have created a horizontal version with all the same objects.
I found that the active state stays only the same while rotating when there are more than 3 states?
Is this a bug?

Sounds like a bug.
For me too! Could you please report the bug?
If you’re not cycling through the states you could set a blank state in the MSO that no button would trigger. That way you’d have a third state but nobody would know.
Yes, I have duplicated the 2nd state (which is the zoomed version of the image) and have no button for this state.
Now it seams to work. - But it's much work now because the whole files with 150 pages already had been finished.

With all due respect to your totally coindescending reply, this is a bug in Flash. Happens every 4-5 times I use that menu item. Been happening for months, but we just installed a Brand new iMac (1/13). Quadcore 3.4 16G RAM and 1TB Fusion drive. Fresh install of CS6. Not running any other 3rd Party Software. Problem STILL happens in new Flash docs with small, simple vector Graphics.
So instead of blaming the users computers, how about you guys just fix the effin' problem? Thanks.

Need help on SQL Statement for UDF

Hi,
as I am not so familiar with SQL statements on currently selected values, I urgently need help.
The scenario looks as follows:
I have defined two UDFs named Subgroup1 and Subgroup2 which represent the subgroups dependent on my article groups. So for example: When the user selects article group "pianos", he only sees the specific subgroups like "new pianos" and "used pianos" in field "Subgroup1". After he has selected one of these specific values, he sees only the specific sub-subgroups in field "Subgroup2", like "used grand pianos".
I have defined UDTs for both UDFs. The UDT for field "Subgroup1" has a UDF called "ArticleGroup" which represents the relation to the article group codes. The UDT for field "Subgroup2" has a UDF called "Subgroup1" which represents the relation to the subgroups one level higher.
The SQL statement for the formatted search in field "Subgroup1" looks as follows:
SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP1] T0 WHERE T0.[U_ArticleGroup] = (SELECT $[OITM.ItmsGrpCod])
It works fine.
However, I cannot find the right statement for the formatted search in field "Subgroup2".
Unfortunately this does NOT WORK:
SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP2] T0 WHERE T0.[U_Subgroup1] = (SELECT $[OITM.U_Subgroup1])
I tried a lot of others that didn't work either.
Then I tried the following one:
SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP2] T0 WHERE T0.[U_Subgroup1] = (SELECT T1.[Code] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP1] T1 WHERE T1.[U_ArticleGroup] = (SELECT $[OITM.ItmsGrpCod]))
Unfortunately that only works as long as there is only one specific subgroup1 for the selected article group.
I would be sooooo happy if there is anyone who can tell me the correct statement for my second UDF!

Do we need to create distinct extensions for CC and CC2014

I am not using Extension Builder.
If I am creating an HTML5 extension, do I need to create two distinct .zxps and manifest files for CC and CC2014? (Presuming there will be some users who continue to use CC for whatever reason).
I guess I can specify a broad version range for the Host elements in the HostList in the manifest e.g. <Host Name="PHXS" Version="[14.0,15.9]"/>
But looking at the RequiredRuntime:Version and ExtensionManager:Version in the manifests - I'm not quite sure what they mean and whether they preclude using a single manifest for both CC and CC2014.

You can support CC and CC2014 but you need to develop for the earlier version e.g. CC and RequiredRuntime:Version 4.0. You are correct to extend the version range of the application to include both CC and CC2014 versions. Need to apply MTD logic for actual and prior year

Hi Team,
We are facing an issue with MTD calculation based on formula variables,
Issue: MTD Only (Actual and Prior Year) – show the same value for MTD.
Requirement:
When the query is run for a selected month, the query should be run for that month based on the Last TECO Date (Input Variable).
• For example, dashboard is run for January 2014, the calculation of MTD should be based on the Last TECO Date : i.,e if I enter older date/month (not current date)[ 1/20/2014 means it should calculate for 1/1/2014 – 1/31/2014]
• If the dashboard is run for the current month, the MTD calculation should be on Last TECO Date = 1st day of month – Current Day
The above same calculation logic should be applicable for MTD prior year: instead of the input variable value, the value for previous year should be considered
Final Calculation:
If Last Labour Date is blank, 0, else Last TECO Date – Last Labour Date (by individual line item)
Here we created two formula variables for last teco date and last labour date.
Also created 2 Customer Exit variable for MTD Actual calculation.
We have pulled the formula variable and CE variable into the selection and created a new CKF (Teco date).
We have done the final calculation on the basis of the ( (labour date ==0)*0 + last teco date-last labour date )for MTD ACTUAL.
MTD Prior Year-
when have done calculation on the basis of the( (labour date ==0)*0 + last teco date-last labour date )for MTD Prior year by giving offset -12 to the value.
Here for MTD Actual and MTD Prior year values are coming same ,we tried with by doing customer exit variables as well, Still values are coming same.
please give your valuable inputs/suggestions to proceed for this requirement .

I assume the Sales measure is a monthly measure. The Prior year calculation as I described will give you the sales for the same month in the previous year when selecting month in your report. When selecting year it will add up all months of the prior year until now and you will indeed see the Prior year YTD.
If you want to see the total sales for the previous year you have to use the same calculation as 'Prior year' and map it to the year level of your time dimension. This will work as a 'partition by year'.
