Need expert advice on Ram and CPU Speed

I have read places that your Ram and CPU FSB speed should be the same to increase performance. However, I can no longer find them anymore. Now, I just want to make sure.
I currently have PC2700 (333Mhz) ram, but my processor is a AMD 2000+XP at 266 FSB. Should I run my ram at 266 Mhz instead of 333 for a 1:1 ratio?
What do the experts think?

Then I bought a SLK-800 heatsink http://www.thermalright.com/ and pulled the Jet 7 apart and then mounted the blower on to the heatsink quite easy only 4 screws to take out and put in.

Need Expert Advice regarding oracle and java objects

In our project, we are submitting data for many screens at a time. Some screens will have a list of records to be submitted. There is also some hierarchy among the data up to 4 levels.
In such a scenario, we need to know the best way to exchange data between Oracle and Java. Currently java holds the data as objects, where each object may contain an array of next level of objects in it.
Is it best approach to pass the entire data with hierarchy to Oracle using nested table approach and internally oracle handling the data? Is there any other way to do this?
Also in some scenarios we need to pass the entire information for all the screens in one shot with the hierarchy. So we need to know a solution for that also. Could you please help us in this regard?

Need expert advice to import and convert video using Windows COM SDK

Hi,
Does anybody know can I import a video file and convert the footage to iPod compatible format using vbscript?
I found a COM function 'convertfile', but it seems only work with audio and doesn't work with mpg files. Does the current version of COM SDK 6.0.2.23 support conversion of mpg?

Thanks, but I know iTunes 6 (windows version) has a built-in function to convert a video to a format for iPod G5. That's why I wonder if the iTunes Windows COM SDK has the function call so that I can automatically import my scheduled recording to iPod. I think that's the advantage of iTunes / iPod. Actually I love my iPod G3 and iPod mini, but I don't see a reason for me to upgrade to G5 if it only accept H264 and mp4 because all my recordings (directly from my TV card) are only mpeg format and there is currently no command line tools to convert them for iPod. I know a bit of programming and it is much more conveninent to use scripts to do the mpg -> ipod conversion automatically than doing it manually using GUI programs..

Session/jstl and load balancing - need expert advice

After user loggs in, I am getting locale from db and storing it inside userSession along with userLogin. Inside jsp using <fmt> tag to display locale based resource property.

3)what about jstl Config.set(..) whether any changes needed here?
4)Do i need to change filter code.

Hi I Am a digital textile designer and planning to buy my first retina macbook pro. I need expert advice, which model should i buy 15 inch base model or with dedicated graphics card. i will use macbook for digital designing on Adobe photoshop and multi tasking. so now really confused is intel iris pro graphics will handle heavy files on photoshop or Nvidia GT750 m will good for heavy work. I am working on very large resolution file like 10 to 15k in resolution approx 1 GB in file size with lot of filters is being use while designing. Which model will handle above task well and last longer.

Safari keeps going through my RAM and CPU

Hello, I have the up-to-date (5.1) version of Safari running on my OS X Lion. Despite the update, I'm still experiencing RAM and CPU downfalls because of the process "Safari Web Content", most of all when I surf the Facebook website (sometimes it reaches 75% CPU and 1.7GB RAM levels).
Do I simply have to wait another Safari update to fix this or is this completely normal? Before the Lion update I did not experience this bug, as I remember.

The problem evolved. Thanks to another question, I realized some Safari extension could make the RAM collapse, like 1Password extension. But now if I want to disable them, the Extension tab in preferences just remains blank!

How much Ram SSD and CPU speed should I get

Hi,
A friend of mine wants to buy a 2014 13" Retina MacBook Pro. He typically changes his computer every three years or so. He asked me if he should go for the 8GB RAM that come standard or upgrade to 16 GB. He also wasn't sure if he should get the 512 GB or the 256 GB model. Also, he wasn't sure if he should upgrade the CPU to i7.
He is not a gamer, but he is a heavy internet, and MS Office user. He uses iMovie occasionally for video editing. He is thinking to upgrade to Final Cut Pro. He also wants to uses Parallel and Boot Camp for windows 8.1 as some Window Apps requires full access to the video and CPU.
Please advise me what should my advise be to him?

It is not difficult to give an opinion, but that is all it would be. No one can project performance of a specific configuration's usage in advance.
To state the obvious, more power is better. It depends on how much one is willing to spend for "better" performance.
Based on what you described, I would buy as much as I could afford.

What is kernel_task, and why is it taking up so much RAM and CPU?

I have recently upgraded to OS X Mavericks, and despite promises of extreme performance, my MPB has been running slower than ever before. According to Activity Monitor, "kernal_task" is taking up 600+ MB of RAM and hasn't dropped since I upgraded. It's also been taking between 4% and 8% of my CPU. When I first upgraded, there was a little alert message that said it was optomizing my system, and it may slow down the computer and decrease battery life. The message lasted for two days, then finally went away. (I didn't close it, so I assumed it had finished.) However, kernal_task, which I thought was the optomization, has been on the top of the list of RAM usage and top 3 on the list of % CPU since I upgraded. PLEASE tell me what it is, and how I can decrease it's toll on my performance! It won't let me stop the task or even get more information on it when I select it on the list of processes. Also, on a side note, Activity Monitor used to let you change its dock icon to a pie chart showing memory usage. Unfortunately, this feature seems to be gone. Is there any way I can get it back or use a different app? I don't want to have it open on top of my stuff or as a window, I would like to see it in the dock. In fact, the chart isn't even in the memory tab of the Activity Monitor application anymore!

Also, I'm on a MacBook Pro 17" with a 500GB hard drive (and only 70GB free, but I use an external 2TB as my main drive). It is a mid-2010 build, and I bought it certified refurbished.

That's not very high. Mine is over 1 GB. Typical is around 5-800 GBs depending upon what tasks are running.
You don't need to add more RAM, just be careful not to run more concurrent tasks than are appropriate for your memory usage profile. It's really not a big deal unless it gets to 600 GBs. Then you have a problem.
I disagree with McBlob about free disk space. Keep at least 10% of the drive's capacity as free space. For you that's 50 GBs, and that's adequate.

Trying to update from 10.4.11 to snow leopard, the genius bar said I should be able to do this I only need 1 GB of RAM and I have 2 GB. I put in the SL disc and my Macbook pro spits it out. What do I do without needlessly spending more money to upgrade?

So this disc won't load. I recently bought a new ipod nano, but am unable to put songs on it without the latest version of itunes.
My Macbook Pro is 2008 and has 10.4.11 the guys at the genius bar said to upgrade to snow leopard to upgrade to lion and I shouldn't have a problem. I was told I need 1GB of RAM and I have 2GBs of RAM but the disc spits out every time after about 3 minutes.

ISight/iChat AV - RAM and CPU considerations

I am thinking of buying my mom a MAC Mini or giving her my wifes iMAC G4 1.25ghz and converting her from the PC world to MACWORLD!!! The scenario is I will buy her an iSight so she can hook up via IChat and see the grandkids. Question is:
1. Does CPU speed have any bearing on quality of the iChat AV experience (here we are talking about G4's the mini or the iMac that my wife has)?
2. Is it necessary to get a RAM upgrde if I get her the mini to go from 512 to 1 Gig?
Don't want to waste the money if it won't help the iChat AV experience. I figured the DSL high speed connection is the key factor. Am I wrong? Is there another key success factor?

With the kit you've mentioned, I can't see you having any difficulties. If anything I would say that increasing your memory would be the best bet, as OS X just runs more smoothly the more you have. Plus, it would benefit more than just iChat - especially if you've got more than just iChat running at the same time.
The CPUs in the Mac mini and the G4 iMac can cope with an iSight camera with no troubles at all - the bottleneck will be at the internet connection (if you experience any bottleneck at all). Oh, and be honest with your connection speed in iChat - it'll make any necessary adjustments for you to keep things smooth.

Iam on project where we have CRM,ECC(SD),FICA in the System Landscape.The client is currently using ECC(SD) Customer master for creating/maintainig Customer's.As we have CRM & FICA in this implementation, we are planning to propose that we use CRM as the source system for creating/maintaing Customers as Business Partners & Perform standard replication to the other system's in the landscape.
The client has has asked us to confirm if having CRM as the source is the Best practice in the industry when we have this three systems (CRM,FICA,ECC(SD)) Landscape.I thought to get some expert advice on this & see if any of you have a similar project experience & share some views on this CRM BP vs ECC(SD) Customer Master.

I believe it depends on your business senario.Here I can share some my experience for you.
CRM As Source System
Advantage:
1) Choosing CRM as source system ,you can create several roles of customer for tracking the presales process of customer，such as prospect ,sold to party ,customers ,also you can define the life cycle of your customer and control which life cycle of customer should be replicated to ECC and which one should not.
2) CRM can have more views of customer and customer defined field (EEWB fields) ,so if you choose CRM as Source it will be more convenient to create and fill in the all your user defined field .In other words ,choosing ECC as source you have to extend these field again in CRM .
3） easy to maintain customer relationship
Disadvantages：
1） Have to extend Company code view of Customer data, since CRM do not have these view ,it is just used for billing and integration with financial accounts.
2） have to extend some particular partner function of customer ,it is because of CRM it is only possible to create part of partner function automatically like SP ,BP when business partner is replicating to ECC.
ECC As the source
Oppositely， if you choose ECC as the source ,the advantage become disadvantage.
Advantage :
1) Can Easily to create customer's data of company code view
2) Can easily to assign any partner function to customer
To conclude， if you only need to create sales order in ECC ，I believe choosing ECC as Lead system is better, since you do not have to extend customer data and easily to integrate with FICO and SD.Howerver, if you are going to create a sales order from opportunity or quotation ,CRM is your best choice.

Need Experts Advice (EP, ABAP, Java etc)

I am having almost 3 years exp in SAP (ABAP-3 months, EP Testing + Dev-2.5) .Now i am bit confused about my career path beacuse I have got EP testing exp and not development and also I am almost new to Java Programming

As you already know ABAP. My suggestion is learn OABAP and webdynpro for ABAP because future busness packages are coming in webdynpro ABAP, you have good future.

I am an avid Final Cut Studio user, and I have about $500 - $600 to blow on some upgrades, but I need to know how much and what exactly I need to buy. I want to run Final Cut Pro and Motion efficiently with little slow-downs, so I understand that I need more RAM and another HDD so streaming media won't be bottlenecked on one drive.

I would go with the Crucial RAM (which seems like you already have). I have had great experience with them and just stuck in 2 1GB sticks myself into my G5.
Go with a Seagate hard drive. They really make the most reliable, fastest drives out there, esp. with a 5 year warranty. Look at www.newegg.com for the best deals on hard drives. The 300 GB is wicked cheap at $130; the 400 GB model is probably somewhere around $250. Note that the 500GB is SATA II and the others are regular SATA 150--I dont believe the SATA II is compatible with the G5 yet.
Keep your primary HD as a boot drive... Apps and perhaps user data, iTunes music, iPhotos. The second drive should be your media drive used as a scratch disc, capture scratch, etc... as well as a place to store all your projects and media.
