Need Expert Advise on  Profile Matchup in HCM

Dear all, we may be familiar with profile matchup using Employees (P) versus potential Position (S).
I have 2 requirements;
1. to do a matchup at the department level (or based on a group of employees instead of single). Is this possible via standard or customising is required ?
2. Calculating deficiency and output as figures. for example, if i have a score of 2 for language English proficiency and the ideal scale is 5, i want the system to say that my score is 2/5 = 0.4 (40%) in a nice formatted display.
Are both achievable? For your kind advice.

Peter whatever you mentioned in your query can be achieved a few pointers on how this sis possible:
1. your qualifications catalogue and the design of the same determines how you achieve your results.
2. make sure your config for 'scales' against qualification are correct.
3. make sure the assignment of the qualifications to different agents --> position/person/jobs et al is done according to the business process requirements.
4. profile match-up std reports in ecc may not give you a beautiful user-friendly interface to report on however once you got your data and config correctly, I dont see why you cannot go ahead and build a couple of good reports for business critical processes.

    You need to upload the payroll results from legacy system(including all statutory deductions) to SAP till jan 2012 as your system is going live in feb 2012.
    You need to update table 558B and 558C for which you are provided with excel formats from sap which I am including here for your reference.
    For table T558B use format :-
    Client ,Personnel Number, Sequential number for payroll period,Payroll type,Payroll Identifier Pay date for payroll result,Period Parameters,Payroll Year ,Payroll Period ,Start date of payroll period (FOR period)
    End of payroll period (for-period) ,Reason for Off-Cycle Payroll ,Sequence Number
    558B and C are data conversion tables for mid year go live.
    For Table T558C use format :
    Client ,Personnel Number, Sequence Number ,Country grouping, Wage type,Key date,Rate,Number Amount
    For uploading data, run program HINUULK0, after that execute payroll with standard schema INLK.
    Payroll Period results gets stored in relevant payroll cluster tables.

    1. What is the best solution for i. setting weekly  production order priority with option to reshuffle priority withiout lossing earlier given priority ii. issuing melt index no for production orders , iii. issuing heat no for melt index & production order.
    2. Addressing the dual unit of measurement for ingot & billet  no of pcs vs Kg / Lbs. There is no fix relation for pcs & lbs & varrying for very production lot ( eg 10 cm dia x 2 meter length steel ingot may have wt any values betwwen 400 lbs to 420 lbs. )

    Try defining by this way ...
    In material master:
    Sales UOM = PCs. (Master Data->Sales Data Tab->Sales UOM) ;  Inventory UOM = PCs. (Master Data->Stock Data Tab->Stock UOM).
    If you want for purchases you can define at Master Data->Purchase Data Tab->Purchasing UOM.
    Maintain the correct conversions for the materials.

  • EJB and large memory - need expert advise.

    Hi,
    I have an application that uses alot of memory. There are many clients/session connecting to this application with persistent data.
    Memory can be think of 2 parts:
    - small portion which is different from one session and another, and needs to be persistent
    - large portion, which is shared among clients, and change very infrequently. This is a large and complex data structure.
    My problem is to avoid performance hit as much as possible. (very high client request rate).
    How do I solve this problem using EJB? I am thinking either entity beans or a combination of entity and stateful session manage bean.
    Swaping in and out big chunch of memory is slow. Assemble them back takes a lot of time. I may misunderstand how EJB works though. Could some of you help?

  • Need expert advise on CoA segment change

    Hi Gurus,
    Need the input on achieving the below requirement.
    Requirement:
    Current CoA uses Cost center (3 character length and numeric type) as one of the segment. Client has exhausted all the 999 values and trying alternatives to accommodate new values.
    Option 1: Is it possible to change the segment and value set type from numeric to alpha characters so that client can introduce alpha numeric values to accommodate new requirements?
    Option 2: Is it possible to expand the current length from 3 to 5 in the CoA segment definition and value set attached to Cost center segment? If yes, then what are the other implications that has to be taken care of.

    If it is necessary to change the account structure, do not change the structure using the Flex Format Setup (P0907). The program will allow changes to the account structure, but currently there is no method of updating the existing chart of accounts and transactions to the new format. Changing the structure after transactions have been entered will damage existing records and cause multiple errors throughout the software.
    There is no workaround for this issue without creating a custom program to change the account structure throughout the database

    Dear Experts,
    In my profile matchups and Qualification, when I click the highlighted Qualifications , I get an error like
    "Error COMMUNICATION_FAILURE. Possible cause: error during communication with the back-end system.  Try to display the requested page again. If the problem persists, inform your system administrator.  "
    Previously , It was working fine,
    Can anybody please suggest what might be the possibility of this error?

    In PEPM (Profile Matchup) result, I see a tick box (Essential Requirement).
    How to I set a particular Q as an Essential Requirement for a certain Job/Position? I tried looking up in HRTMC_PPOM but theres no way to assign that during the Q selection.

    For making a field required on selection, you need to attach a SPEL with the bean, and make it true or false based on your requirement.

  • Skills Profile and Profile Matchup - Manager Notification

    In the Skills Profile and Profile Matchup (service EMPLOYEE_SKILLSENHPROFILE_SERVICE_13) when an employee updates one of their skills there is a message written to the screen that "Your manager will then be notified of the changes.".  I do not see any notification being created or a standard workflow for this.  What needs to be done to 'activate' these notifications?

    For Skills you should use workflow WS1200124 - I believe this          
    is provided by application componenent CA-GTF-QR                                                                               
    The function module, which creates the event is                        
    HR_EVENT_WF_SUBPROFILE_DEFICIT.                                                                               
    This should be defined in table T779W                                  
    as follows

    Workflow is activated in transaction PFWS                                                                               
    It should also be mentioned that the standard workflow defaults     
    to the inbox of the employee- additionally           
    the workflow needs to be customized as follows to select manager -->                        
    Copy WS to your namespace                                                                      
    The agent for step 0004 Display HR Development Subprofile would have to
    be changed from Expression 'Employee' to 'Superior of workflow         
    initiator (rule) in the workflow builder for this template.        
    Afterwards it is necessary to activate the event triggering in your     
    workflow template and deactivate it in delivered template WS01200124.   
    The whole steps are                                                                               
    Copy workflow        
    Deactivate even triggering in delivered template                                                                 
    Change Step 004 expression     
    Save and Activate                                                   
    Test in ECC
    Test in Portal
    Alternatively please consider removing text either via Personalization or
    NWDI - if you do not wish workflow

    Hi axe,
    For profile matchup you can use the transaction PEPM, wherin you can match the person qualifications with the requirements against position, jobs and task.
    Each of these contains required qualifications which are needed to be matched against one personnel aggignment's qualification.
    Try looking out in PEPM, with a existing pernr.

    My customer has the following requirement: They want to implement something like Profile Matchup but between 2 Jobs. I know we can compare for example a Person (P) with a Position (S) or Job (C), but not Job (C) with Job (C). Is there any stabdard way that this can be applied?

    In order to find out Qualification Deficits and/or generating training proposals we perform profile match up b/w object types P, US etc... to S, C etc...
    What is the business requirement to compare JOBS? can you please expalin?

  • Training Proposal Update- Profile Matchup

    Hi Experts,
    Whenever we run a Profile Matchup we can also generate the training proposal for an employee.and we can directly book him for a business event .
    A training Proposal Icon should be generated to book an employee for a business event.
    When i tried to run a profile match i could get the qualification deficit of an employee but the training icon for training proposal was not generated.
    Can anybody tell me wat could be the reason for this.Is there any swtich or any thing that i have to activate or maintain.

  • I need to move my profile to an external drive but the edits I make to the profile.ini file don't seem to be working

    I am using a Mac, and need to have my profile be on an external drive. I edit the profile.ini file per the instructions I found here:

    but it's not working. I must have the path wrong. Again, I am using a Mac. Here is the info in the profile.ini file:

    Path=Macintosh%HD/My%20Passport/Thunderbird/Profiles/o6fqy09d.default
    Default=1
    Do you see anything about the path that looks incorrect? The "My Passport" is the external drive.
    Also, if there was an updated disk image for Portable Thunderbird, I could try setting that up but all I can find is a very old one which I tried but it won't update.

    The "My Passport" external drive must be mounted somewhere in the file system. That's the path you need to use.

I need expert advice, which model should i buy 15 inch base model or with dedicated graphics card. i will use macbook for digital designing on Adobe photoshop and multi tasking. so now really confused is intel iris pro graphics will handle heavy files on photoshop or Nvidia GT750 m will good for heavy work. I am working on very large resolution file like 10 to 15k in resolution approx 1 GB in file size with lot of filters is being use while designing. Which model will handle above task well and last longer.

    Can anyone give me advice on a small-office network choice of components and cnfiguration? I am a relative newbie for larger-scale networking, and am looking to clean up and improve our network. We have a typical "domestic" 4-port wireless broadband router (Netgear) connected to a cable modem and a collection collection of 3 small 5-port hubs (1 D-Link, 1 Netgear, 1 generic own-brand - forget who) and a wireless extender to give us more ports as we ran out several times.
    I would prefer to get a single good quality switch/router from one source as we keep getting outages and having to reset the network maybe once per day to gete the machine all to talk to each other, and we also have regular conflicts over bandwidth use where one person's large downloads may effectively prevent others from getting any decent internet access via http/ftp/smtp etc. We have about 6 desktop PCs and a similar number of laptops, and a few gaming consoles that need to be connected, plus occasional visitors who would like access out to the internet (but usually these are people we know and trust).
    I am guessing that a 24-port gigabit switch would be a good option, but do we need a separate router or is there a combined 24-port switch/router? What do we do if we want 2 wireless access points? How can we control the priority and/or amount of bandwidth allocated to different types of traffic? What about VPN access or similar that we might want in the (near) future? I can't find any more tutorials or guides about good choices of kit to make this all work well.

    you will need a separate router and switch. you may check some vpn routers from linksys if you want vpn connection behind the router. you may try rv08, rv016 or rv042.  any gigabit switch will be fine behind the router.
