Hi,
prereouting: call comes in, hits ICM, script is run, telling the routing client (PSTN) where to route the call to (so the call is routed before (pre-) connection, or rather, establishment).
Postrouting: call comes in, is connected and then it hits ICM (so the call is routed after begin connected).
Translation routing is an interesting hybrid: call comes in, is connected but the party the call is connected to, is being monitored by ICM (so it sends the call away but it keeps an eye on it). When it's necessary, call is transferred to a different destination.
Examples:
Prerouting: PSTN -> ICM (script) -> PSTN -> destination phone answers
Postrouting: PSTN -> call is answered -> ICM -> transfer to destination phone, answered
Translation routing: PSTN -> call is answered -> ICM transfers to IVR port, then transfers to final destination phone (agent).

Apple covers a pretty huge range.. If you mean extreme.. did you reset it to factory and start over.. that is always necessary when you change a network. You cannot pick up a router from one home and network and plonk it into another and have it work.. aint gonna happen.
You also need to power down any pure cable modem for 20min or so to get it to forget the old MAC address that captured the IP so the Apple ??? has a chance to work.

Need cable definition for 871 Router and USR Modem

I have tried three different RJ45 to DB25 adapters used for various Cisco routers. I am configuring this to remotely dial into the Cisco 871. I have a Case in the TAC but it is not going well.

I am not really clear on what you are asking: are you looking to purchase the cable somewhere, and what is TAC recommending ? Have a look at this link, it shows the cable you need (it is the blue cable with an RJ-45 connector at one side, and a DB-25 adapter at the other...).
Or are you having problems getting a (remote) connection from your modem to the router ?

I haven't seen a post on this topic yet, so I'll explain the issue. The Playstation 3 is networkable either through a wired ethernet or wireless connection. The Playstation Portable is also networkable over wifi. The PSP has always worked at hot spots for web surfing and gaming. With the release of the PS3, there was a new feature called Remote Play, which let you connect your PSP to your PS3 and stream the PS3 interface. You can manipulate the options, watch videos and listen to music, just like you are at the controls of the PS3. The PS3 has to be put in "remote play" mode for this to work.
Last week, Sony released an update that made this functionality work over the internet. For most people this worked just fine. Others had to open ports here or there, but there is a group of users that cannot connect from a hot spot, but can connect over the internet at home. The original remote play connection (before the update) was a direct connection between the PS3 and PSP. Now you can connect through your router at home (scan for your router and connect that way). This connection works since the PS3 and PSP are both connected to the same router in your home. When you go to a hotspot, you can get all the way up to the point that the PS3 streamed screen should start, but it times out.
This is taken directly from the PS3 owner's manual:
"If the PS3 system is connected to the Internet via two or more routers, communication may not work correctly."
It seems like internet connection from a hot spot doesn't work because the request for the PS3 gets lost between two routers when it gets to my home network.
Finally to my question. It seems like my Westell 6100 is functioning as a router, as is my WRK54G. When i look at my modem's settings, it is set up as a bridge protocol in routed bridge mode. Everything else I try makes me lose my internet connection.
Anybody know what I'm talking about or have any suggestions?

A lot of PS3/PSP owners are having this issue with Remote Play. I have a WRT350N and have been through Sony forum as well as this one to know about all setups from port forwarding to giving your PS3 a static IP and placing in DMZ. I can say I had success connected via or public wi-fi but I also noticed how unstable Remote Play is. There will be times you can connect to it but if you turn your PS3 completely off (not standby) and back on you will pretty much need to setup your PSP again with the PS3 for Remote Play. The problem itself lies more with Sony and not our modem and routers except that fact that you do have to make some minor changes like disable UPnP, forward ports and etc. I own the Sony LocationFree Player which uses a similiar function like Remote Play but instead gives you control over your cable tv remotely anywhere on laptop or psp. LocationFree never failed me since day one because Sony created a DDNS for it which worked for me no matter who my carrier was or what router I have used over the years. Remote Play was introduced later for PS3 which pretty much like LocationFree but Sony doesn't provide a DDNS for it, instead we have to go through all the crazy configurations which is never stable. However you can register for a DDNS at DynDNS.org and configure your router with it which I have done before and found it to be very stable. No matter what Sony still needs to address the issue with the PS3 communication for Remote Play. This would name the versioned InDesign files the same as the input text file but with the ".indd" extension. You might need to consider filtering the files in the getFiles() call, if you have filetypes in your input folder you don't want to process. It's clearer to just re- open the template file on disk, rather than reverting, and amounts to the same thing.

It really depends on the company and their business process. Generally though:
Purchase Requisition (user reqests stuff, either for manuf/stock, or supplies). -> then the PReq would go through an approval process (Release Strategy). Once approved, one can either create a Request for Quote (RFQ) to multiple vendors to obtain the best prices - and/or create the Purchase Order (either directly from the PReq or from the RFQ).
Once the PO is created -> then a Goods Receipt is necessary (to indicate you received the goods ordered). Then Invoice Verification (again - if this is set up) - which basically prevents overpayment to a vendor (won't allow you to pay for goods not received through Goods Receipt). Then ultimately the payment to the Vendor.

transfer routine is at a data source level.
for ex i have an 3 ODS (X,Y,Z) and one DS D and one Infosoure I and a cube C
flow is DS -
>IS-->ODS's(X,Y,Z)---> and cube C from ODS X, ODS Y,ODS Z
Transfer Routine:If u write any routine in IS it will be applicable to all the the ODS's when u load data becuase it is at the DS level
start routine: now if u write a start routine betwn ODS X and a cube it will be applicable only for the Update rule betwn ODS X and a cube it wont affect the Update rules betwn OD Y and cube or ODS Z and the cube becuase start routine is at a datapackage level
Transfer routine is in the IS

Macbook pro logs out of network when left idle and then I need to turn off the router and all computers in the house to reset the system.

I have a macbook pro running 10.6.8. Since I got it over a year ago it will disconnect from the network when left idle and then not be able to reconnect. All computers in the house have to be shut down and the router turned off in order to reconnect again.   My son just updated his macbook using my os disc and now his computer is doing the same thing. You can set up and administer the Airport Extreme from any computer, Mac or PC. The only requirement is the version of Airport Utility appropriate for the OS, in order to accomplish its initial configuration. For Tiger, it's the one I linked.

If you mean restoring OS X, that won't necessarily have any effect on speed.
Not enough free space on the startup disk can slow your Mac down.
Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.

I want to know is it possible to use a 3560, with Advanced IP Services, to policy based route from VLANs to different ISP's?

You are correct. Route-map support for 3560 is limited and it doesn't give you many options that you would normally see on a router.
I guess you only wanted to policy route the traffic from your SVI (vlan) interfaces to two different ISPs and this can be achieved by using the 'set ip next-hop' command.
You need a config like the one below. You could configure the ACL to disallow policy routing between your local subnets and policy route all other traffic to the ISP of your choice.

ip policy route-map cisco
route-map cisco permit 10
match ip address 100
set ip next-hop (ISP_1)
access-list 100 deny ip (vlan_100) (vlan_200)

3rd Party Router and an iMac with Airport card

Could someone assist me in setting up an older flat panel iMac 800Mhz with a airport card to a 3rd party router (Speedport W 500V). It was really easy to set up the DSL etc when connecting to an Airport Extreme base station, however I have upgraded and trying to get conencted at my parents place, which have DSL but with the Speedport W 500V modem/wireless combo - any assistance to get the two connected would be appreciated.

There may be (probably Windows only) or you need to use a web based configurator. It will depend on what the manufacturer of your router provides.
The manual which came with the router (it may be in electronic form) should provide guidance on how to configure the router via a browser.
