Need FM/Class for Direct deletion of Development Class/Package in ABAP

Hi experts,
I had stored all the unwanted objects in a development class/ package which I intended to delete later. I want this deletion to be done automatically. Is there a function module or class that can help me do this?
Thanks in advance,
Adithya

I was hoping a separate server-side process wouldn't be needed -- if you're thinking of something like RMI, that's also a bit heavyweight for my needs. I know I can talk to the remote server on telnet port 23, though.
Further experimentation today with the Jakarta net library has generated something that works using their telnet classes. (After I asked for help here, of course. The same thing happens when I shop for groceries....) But using this leaves me referencing an external library that:
1. has functionality I don't need that complicates the code, and
2. forces me to address licensing requirements.
So I'd still love to see an example of a telnet-like Java class that strips away all the non-essentials in the Jakarta telnet library code, leaving behind a simple public domain class that can be used to connect to a remote host and transfer characters over that connection.
I appreciate that this may be asking for a lot, but as they say, if you don't ask, you don't get. ;-)
Thanks!

    Hi
    Actually the Discoverer Administrator tool has changed so little over the past 5 years or so that you could take a Discoverer 4 EUL class and apply everything that you have learned to 10g. Personally I'd go for the one entitled OracleBI Discoverer Administrator. That's the latest version. You can tell because the letters BI are now part of the product.
    I've never used the CD ROM so can't comment - sorry.

  • Transport request for development class

    Hello folks,
    I have a development class (AKA package) containing e.g. one program, one message class and one function group. The function group contains one function module (as well as its associated includes).
    I'd like to write a transport request with <i>all</i> the objects of this development class, because I'd like to easily import all the development class' functionality in another system. I mean, in this specific situation I'd include the <i>function module</i> itself as well as the function group.
    Unfortunately, when I select the <i>write transport request</i> entry from the development class' context menu (transaction SE80, <i>object navigator</i>), and I specify that I want to transport all the objects in the development class (and not just the development class itself), it doesn't work as I'd like. Just the program, the function group and the message class are written in the request. The function module is not included.
    Is there a way to automatically perform sort of a <i>recursive</i> selection, so I can write in a request all the objects associated (at whatever level) with a development class?
    Regards, Davide

    Hello Naimesh, hi Max,
    I'm not sure about your suggestions.
    When I initially write all the development cass' objects in a request, the function group is written in that. Are <i>all</i> the objects of the function group written in that request, as well?
    The thing is that when I manually write the function module in that request, the function module is consequently shown in the <i>transport organizer</i>. Therefore I suspect that the function module (i.e. the include <i><FUN_GRP_NAME>U01</i>) has not been automatically written at the beginning.
    So basically my question is:
    When I write a function group to a request, is the include <i><FUN_GRP_NAME>UXX</i> written to that? And is the include <i><FUN_GRP_NAME>U01</i> (and all the others) also included?
    Cheers, Davide

  • "Safe" delete of Thread class from a Vector

    I need to be able to delete a thread class object from a vector.
    1) Is it safe to do so immedately after calling xyz.stop() ?
    2) If so, does Java clean all the thread stuff up automatically ?
    3) If not, is there something else I should do to clean up?

    The stop method of class Thread is deprecated, however it's still possible to stop this thread. A thread's memory should become available for garbage collection the moment it is no longer executing, and it is no longer being reffered to.
    To stop your thread, you need to set a boolean flag that is available to it to false:
    Thread myThread = new Thread()
         public boolean stopRunning = false;
         public boolean threadComplete = false;
         public void run()
              while(!stopRunning)
                   doSomething();
              threadComplete = true;
    }If you are doing something involving blocking I/O inside your thread, you're going to need to interrupt the thread after setting this public flag to true in order to get it to stop executing.
    Then you can simply remove it's refference from that Vector, and it will become elligable for Garbage collection the moment it becomes inactive.

  • How to change the development class of a tcode once its a temp $tmp?

    Hi,
    I have created one tcode and was attaching the development class to it but meanwhile I ended up assigning it with the $tmp local object now I want to change it with the desired one. Suggest me a solution whether I should the tcode (if yes how) or if anyother way.
    Thanks in advance
    Mohinder Singh Chauhan

    Hi,
    I tried that but I have a created the programme first assined the developent class.
    Thats right accdording to specs, problem arises when I assign a "transaction code " to the report programme and while doing so I put a $tmp class that thing I need to change as in our landscape development class for the Transaction code has been created already. I was supposed to chose one of them(For the Sale purpose).
                   When I try to change the development class which is greyed out with $tmp(In Tcode creation screen) the development class for the programme is different.
    Thanks

  • For CF Server 9 developer win 64bit has the same running problems like 32bit, or more

    CFWACK8 reader:
    Better install CF Server stand alone - so no need  Apache? For CF Server 9 developer windows 64bit has the same running  problems like 32bit, or more?
    I have installed  http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html ..WAMPP, well Mysql  may used by this CF Server 9 developer, although book use Apache Derby  embedded to cf server?
    CFEclipse plugin may installed either in my (separate) Flash Builder 4 or Eclipse Helios, or only to latter?

    CF 9 64-bit will generally be your best choice on a 64-bit platform, unless you specifically require something that's not available in 64-bit, like COM.
    For development, the built-in web server is fine. But if you want to learn how to manage a web server, it's good to install Apache and configure CF to use that.
    You may use any SQL engine for which there are JDBC drivers, including MySQL. Apache Derby is used for demos, etc, because it's bundled with CF. You don't want to use it for real projects, though.
    You can install CF Builder in any modern Eclipse, including Helios or Flash Builder. This is largely a matter of personal preference. I've encountered some features that don't work properly unless you let CF Builder install its own bundled Eclipse, but these are features that I don't use much anyway.

  • Change development class

    hi,
    I have some programs in "Z"-namespace. Now I would like to change the development class, but I get the following error:
    Customer object PROG Zxx cannot be assigned to developmnet class /xxx/xxx
    Have anyone an idea to change the class?
    thanks
    michael

    Hi
    I think there is a conflict in the name space, you're trying to link an abap object to development class that belongs to certain name space, but your object have a name doesn't belong to it.
    If /xxx/xxx is a customer name space:
    or you change the name of your object (it should belong to the same name space of development class) or you use a development class called Z-namespace.

  • Need to change the local change request to development class for Process Ch

    Hello ,
    I have created a Tranport request for Process chain but its saved as local change request .
    Please suggest how to change that .
    Thanks ,
    Rahul

    Hi
    1.First delete the request which you collected the process chain as local object becuase you will not able to collect the process chian again.
    2. Goto Tranport connector to collect the process chain again.
    3. Select grouping option as necessary objects.
    4. Drag and drop the process chain to the right hand side
    5. After collecting the process chain, click on the package icon and give the package created for development class.
    6. The system will ask for Transport request and save the PC in the Transport Request.
    Hope it helps.

  • Need the classes for fm REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY  does.

    I have a requirement where  I need to display header and item using alv classes..  (the same functionality that REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY function module does).  If any one worked on this please guide.

    Hi
    Hope it will help you.
    Reward if ehlp.
    Many a times there is a requirement to display ALV Grid (not ALV List) in the background Job. I have checked the SDN Forum for the same and it has been mentioned that ALV Grid cannot be displayed in Background, but the list output of ALV is possible. So user won’t have the actual Grid interface but the List interface.
    There is a workaround to display ALV Grid in Background Job. The only restriction is you can’t schedule the job through SM36. You need to execute the transaction of the report program, fill in the selection screen data and hit Execute.
    The job would be executed in background. User will be able to see the Job Log and Job Status after executing the program. User doesn’t have to go to SM37 to view the job status/log. Once the Job Status is changed to “COMPLETED”, user can click on “DISPLAY SPOOL” to view the ALV Grid.
    Limitations:
    Can’t schedulea background job
    The session should be active until the background job is completed. If the session is closed, then user won’t be able to check the output in ALV Grid. User would be able to check the output through spool or SM37
    Advantages:
    If the spool width is greater than 255 characters, then the entire width could be seen in the output because the output is directed to an ALV Grid and not to spool
    Interface of ALV Grid is available instead of ALV List even though it’s a background job.
    Program won’t give the TIME OUT error
    Steps Required:
    1. Once you execute the program, the following screen would be displayed
    2. Click “Display Job Status” to check the Status of the Background Job
    3. Click on “Display the Job Log” to check the Log
    4. Click on “Display Job Status” to check the Job Status
    5. Click on “DISPLAY SPOOL” to check the spool content once the Job Status is changed to “COMPLETED”. Output is displayed in ALV Grid
    Programs:
    1.  Two different programs needs to be created
    ZPROGRAM_ONE: This is the 1st program, where the selection screen and all the data validations would be done. Error handling for invalid data should be done in this program.
    Once the data validation is done, this program would call the 2nd program ZPROGEAM_TWO. Build the logic to display ALV Grid in this program. The logic will only display ALV in foreground and it won’t be reflected in the spool.
    ZPROGRAM_TWO: This program would fetch all the data and do all the processing. If you want the spool output along with ALV Grid output, then build the logic in this program to display ALV Grid.

  • Need to create development class

    Hi,
    I need to create new development class 'ZCMF'.
    Anyone have some idea?
    Regards,
    Swati

    Development class support the distribution development of large application.Set of abap program with a common meaning are placed in the dev class. It is loosely connected with other system,Its a component of R/3 system.It also have another name called Package. Previously all the development was called dev class now especially in Netweaver it was described as Package only.
    METHOD1:
    u can create Package or Development class  in two ways.....
    =>goto object navigator(SE 80)
    =>object Navigator was spited into 2 parts.one is obj selection area and another one is editing area....
    =>you have 2 select the "Package" in the left side frame(object selection).....
    =>Type ur Package name wit customer namespace (Z|Y) and press enter.
    =>it display that the object is not created.need to create an object
    =>press  yes
    =>it opens a new  form. in that  give short description.
    =>giv the transport layer as HOME.click save.
    =>then create ur own request 4 ur objects....
    =>u can save  all your development objects inside ur package.
    =>to view wat all is been put into ur package, u can go to SE01-transport organiser n view the package contents.
    METHOD 2:
    GOTO ABAP DICTIONARY(SE11)
    SELECT DATABASE TABLE
    Give the table for dev class
    goto Display option.
    Goto MENUBAR Select UTILITIES >CONTENT OPTION>CRETE DEVELOPMENT CLASS
    Give the name and short disc as discuss earlier.
    i thing its useful.....

  • Development class for message class

    can you tell me the development class for sap message classes?
    is there any table where the message classes are stored.
    Thanks

    If you are asking the table where messages are stored , it is T100.
    Development class for message class is project specific. You need to check that.
