  • Data source for report

    Hi guys.
Can somebody let me know how to set data source for report?
    I did import "import.zip" and "bootstrp.zip".
    I did run "HFPBMMAK.PRO".
I did create model connection of "HFPBM"
    Best Regards,
    Chul.

    Chul,
You only have to import either import.zip OR the bootstrap.zip, not both.
I don't know if you have SSM 7.5 or SSM 10, this will be for 7.5
If you have followed the set-up correctly, you should be able to open the demolauncher -
    http://localhost:50000/strategy/pilotworks/demolauncher.htm
    Where localhost = server 50000 = port
You should open the Administrator interface of your demo and Set Scorecard Defaults. For a context make sure that the PAS Model Connection is set for the model connection you set - HFPBM.
You also need to make sure that Manage Application Groups have your user added for the context you selected.
(For 10 the application groups are managed in NetWeaver)

  • Data source for reports

    hi all,
we r using 10g application server along with the reports service to deploy J2EE application
The data source for the application is specified using the JNDI lookup
Is it possible to use the same strategy for reports as well.
i.e., we are using jdbcpds. so is it ok if i give the JNDI look up name as P_JDBCPDS
If not is there any other way to make the P_JDBCPDS connection generic, so that i can change the username and database name without having to change the cgicmd.dat file
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & regards,
    Ramakrishna

If it is intended to be accessible from Reports servlet then you can use "ssoconn" command line option where by the user name and password is stored in OID (Oracle Internet Directory)
Pls see publishing reports to web document --> command line options -> rwservlet

  • Html or other data source for report

The Federal FCRA notice must be included in certain reports. In order to keep it user maintainable, I wanted to save it in the database in some fashion. One way I'm trying is using HTML to generate a PDF output that will be merged with the other reports or possibly be included in the main reports.
I have a simple Oracle 11g Report selecting html from a database column of clob datatype.
The html is produced in the report as text, tags & all. It does interpret the bold <b> tag, but nothing else.
I do have the Contains HTML tags property set Yes.

Is the ability to include a MS Word document inside an Oracle Report no longer available? I am in 11g Reports and 10g database.
I've successfully loaded the Word doc to a blob column and the report runs and presents other data elements from the table. However, the OLE2 field for the Word doc is blank. Suggestions?

  • Trying to change the data source for a Crystal Report.

<p>The method below represents my best attempt to programatically change the data source of a Crystal Report. The goal is to have a routine that will update the data source for reports after they have been distributed to production servers. So far I have not been successful in saving the report back to the CMS. No exceptions are thrown, but when I view the Database Configuration of the report in the CMC nothing has changed.

    <p>Justin,</p>
    <p>
Thank you for the reply. Time constraints have not allowed me to post back to this tread
till now. I will try your suggestion. My assumption is that <i>Save the report back to the
    info store</i> refers to <span class="code">IInfoStore.commit(IInfoObjects)</span>.
    </p>
    <p>
I'm afraid that I do not understand why I don't want to change the report client document,
or why <i>successfully exporting the report with the new login/password</i> is not what I
want to do. Any explanation on that statement would be appreciated.
    </p>
    <p>
I did find a way to accomplish my goal. It involved adding the SSOKEY property to the
logon property bag. Below you'll see my revised code which modifies the report logon and
server. I have no idea what
this does, and SAP support has not been able to tell me why it works. However, what I
discovered is that if I changed the report option, <b>Database Configuration -> When
viewing report:</b>, in the CMS to <span class="bi">Use same database logon as when report
is run</span> from <span class="bi">Prompt the user for database logon</span>, then the
SSOKEY property had been added to the logon property bag having an empty string as its
value. This allowed me to successfullyupdate and save the modified logon back to the CMS.
    </p>
    <p>
So I took a chance and added code to always add the SSOKEY property with an empty string
as its value, and I could then successfully modify and save the report's logon info
and server. Again, I don't know what this means, but it has worked so far. If anyone has
some insight or comments, either are welcome. Thank you in advance.

  • Need urgent help to generate SPL Data Sources for Line Items

    Hi All,
I am trying to extract the Special Purpose Ledger Data from R/3 into BW. To do this, I am following the steps to generate the Data Sources for Totals table and Lien Items Table.
Using Transaction BW01 and BW03 on the R/3 side, I am able to generate the Totals Record-DataSource   successfully.
But I am not able to generate the Line Items-DataSource. I am using the same procedure.
Can someone please help me or point me in the right direction. Are there any other settings I need to make to generate the Line Items-DataSource. Interestingly, I am able to generate the Line Items-DataSource  for some other old ledgers in the System like ZZ and ZX. But I need the Line Items-DataSource  from a ledger called ZP for which I am having trouble.
I would greatly appreciate if someone can get back to me ASAP.

During BW01, The Generate extract structure is fine for both Total and Line Item Table. The issue is when we run tcode bw03 where you assign the datasource to a ledger.
Here, I can assign only for the Total Records data source and NOT for the Line Items-DataSource.
I hope I could explain the issue. Looking forward for some advice.

  • Help needed: Data source for Facilities management (tables VTB_ASGN*)?

    Hi all,
I am looking for a data source for facilities management in R/3 (PI 2004_1_470)
The tables are concerning VTB_ASGN* etc.
every feedback is highly appreciated and rewarded.
    Thanks and regards,

    Hello Sally,
Did you ever find a solution to this issue?
My client is also looking to do reporting on facilities in BW and integrate this data into liquidity planning in SEM-BPS. However, it looks like this will have to be a custom extractor calling one of the two function modules either FTR_FC_GET_COMMITMENT or FTR_FC_GET_COMM_DRAW_FEE.

  • Urgent help: how to create data source for Weblogic RMI driver

DataSource will internally do that for you (It will use RMI internaly) . You
dont have to worry about the details of using RMI driver. Thats what is a
    DataSource is for.

    Hi Pradeep
To create a connection pool you have to use a database driver not RMI
driver. So use a thin driver or the WebLogic jDriver for Oracle to setup
your connection pool. Once the connection pool is created you can create
    a
DataSource and use this datasource to connect to the database.
The RMI driver can be used to get connections from the database via the
connection pool and in that case you dont need a datasource. Recommended
approach is to use a DataSource.

  • Excel Functions Do Not Work When Data Source is BW

    Hello,
My platform is, BOBJ BI 4.0. Data source is SAP BW. BW is connected to XCelsius with BEx. My problem is, excel functions do not work when data source is BW. For example, Excel cell A1=quantity1  B1= quantity2   C1= excel function "=A1+B1" When data source is Excel, for example A1=5, B1=9 C1 automatically equals to 14. (There is no problem when data source is Excel) But, in BW, for example when BW set values to A1=5, B1=9, the system does not calculate C1. C1 always equals to initial value, the system does not care any excel calculation when data source is BW.  Any guess for my problem? Thank you for your effort.

    Hi,
As you are using very simple formula,it will work no matter which source you are consuming. As mentioned, try to place a simple component(Eg:spreadsheet),just to check whether you are getting the right calculated value or not.
As you are using BW as source, the Preview option will not show the runtime data,so you need to publish in Portal to check whether the calculation happened or not.
As far as I know only few fromulas are supported in Xcelsius, but these kind of simple formulas are very much supported.

  • Need to change report data source on reports in a copied universe

We are setting up a new testing environment.  So I made a copy of our BO universe so we could have two different testing universes.  I then created a copy of the data source database that will be used as the data source for the reports in the copied universe.  The two different databases have the exact same tables, columns and indexes as the development database.   The only difference will be the data inside the tables.
I now need to change the reports to use the new universe since the reports were written using the universe instead of using the database.  I am not changing anything else in the reports.  I just need them to run against a different Oracle database.
So I go into Crystal Reports version 11.5.0.313 and open the report up.  I then go into Database fields in Field Explorer to change the data source.  I then go to the Set Datasource Location screen.  I open up the universe label by clicking on the plus sign and I select the copied universe.  When I do that, the Business Objects Query panel screen opens up.  Because I have switched universes, Crystal Reports wants me to reselect the columns and rebuild the query.
We have over three thousand reports so we are trying to avoid rebuilding them.  I am looking for a better way to change what database a report runs against.

Has anyone run into this?   What was your solution to this problem?

    Hi Joe,
Moved your post to the Universe Forum.
First you are using the original release of XI R2. You need to upgrade to Service Pack 6 by:
Run License Manager first to get the keycode if you don't have it on paper somewhere.
Then download these and uninstall then run full build first:

  • Data Source for BSEG Data base table

    Hi Every one,
I need to create a data source for the data base table BSEG (Function Module Extraction).
    I have followed below steps.
I have created extarct structure which contains all the fields of BSEG Data base table. If I save the data source I am getting error.
If I remove all the currecy fields from extract structure, I am able to activate the data sorce.
So Could you please explain me how to extract currency fields.

    Hi,
Firstly, can you explain why you need a generic extractor for BSEG? There are already 2 datasources for BSEG, they are:
    0FI_GL_4
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/0c/b4973c115a6f3ae10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    0FI_GL_14
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/49/5700570223413085021a8b4ef1087a/frameset.htm
To use 0FI_GL_14, you should use the new GL in ECC side.
On the other hand, for your problem, your problem may occur if you did not give the reference unit field of your currency field in your extraction structure. when you double click the  the currency field, you will see the ref. field, give the reference unit field in this area.

  • Unable to generate "Export data source" for Master data infoobject

    Hi Gurus,
    I'm in BW 3.5
I need to generate "Export data source" for a master data info object.
    I followed below steps:
I ticked the checkbox "Characterist. is export data source" in the master data Info object maintenance screen.
In the Infosource area, for the desired Infoobject --> Right click --> Generate export datasource --> a dialog box displays saying "The generation of DataSource  was successful"
    Problem:
Even after refreshing, etc.. I couldn't find the generated datasource 8**** for the above master data. I also tried to replicate the datasource from the myself source system, but couldn't find it even there. I don't know where the generated export data source is hiding ???
    Could anyone please help ????
    Thanks,
    Venkat

    Hi Venkat,
I guess that after creating an export datasource for infoobject this DS should appear in the RSA1-Source systems - MYSELF - datasource overview (with name starting with 8). Since it's a datamart, it should appear also as system generated infosource. And in this case you would be able to assign in URs of data target the appropriate infosource (make sure that in Infoproviders tab of RSA1 you have inserted your infoobject as a data target).
However, there are some bugs related to export data source. CHeck if you see you export data source in RSA6.
If you don't see it - consider applying OSS Note #816892 - "30BSP26: Export DS for master data is not generated".
Note #876845 - "30BSP29: InfoObject change: Export DataSource not adjusted" is also may be useful.

  • Using an SAS2008 Cube as a data source for BI Publisher errors

    Hi All,
I am trying to use a SAS 2008 cube as a data source for a report in BI Publisher. When I defined the data source under the admin section I gave it the following details:
    Data Source=ntsasqa01;Provider=msolap.3;Initial Catalog=WWPR_SMG
With a username / password that has access to the cube.
When I try and test the connection the OC4J instance stops running and the test does not finish or error. If I use the data source and then setup a report and then try and view data I get an error like the one below:
    /app/oracle/OracleBI/xmlp/XMLP/Admin/DataSource/msmdacc.dll (     0509-022 Cannot load module /app/oracle/OracleBI/xmlp/XMLP/Admin/DataSource/msmdacc.dll.
0509-103 The module has an invalid magic number.)
I am not sure if the error is related to the initial issue of not being able to complete the test.
I need to find a solution though as I have to make use of MDX to access the cubes.
Please could someone give me some advice.
    Thanks,
    Kim.

    Hi Kim
    1. SAS cubes are not currently supported - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e10417.pdf. Unless SAS cubes can use the MS drivers?
    2. If you try and pursue it you might check the permissions on the ddll in the error to ensure you have rights over it.
Either way you are not supported with a SAS cube so you are kinda on your own. Sorry I dont use SAS so Im not going to be much help other than stating the obvious :0)
    Regards
    Tim
