Need good career with SAP certification

Dear,
I am working at Saudi Arabia, Tabuk in Binzagr co. as a Store Keeper. And now I want to make my future bright with good SAP training and as a proffessional Job via SAP. Currently I am working in SAP at MM process.
I need you to suggest me a good way to get my future bright and much knowledgeable. If there is any way to learn online SAP course please let me get information. I will follow for your suggestion.
Thanks & Regards
Shailesh Kansara

Hi Shailesh,
As Ravi said in his comment, SAP is providing a vast range of online courses which we can nominate for and get benefit out of it.
I am sure it will definitely help you to start as a consultant. However, Simply attending the courses only not enough to make you knowledgeable in the SAP world.
To be a Successful SAP Consultant, Continuous Learning and Practice is necessary all the time.
Further More, If you can able to get the Business Process Knowledge, It will make you a complete SAP Consultant.
Have a thorough check on all the aspects on SAP Training and speak to people who have been in SAP. They can able to guide you by means of explaining whats actually happening in the SAP Consultants world.
Have a clear research and once you decided to go for SAP (which you already done i suppose).
Make SAP as a Passion. When it comes to a Passion, You will be more Knowledgeable without giving any stress as you do learn willingly.
All the Best...!!
With Warm Regards,
Vishnu

  • Why are intermediate certificates needed within STRUST with SAP as SSL client?

Scenario: My company is hosting various applications on a web server. Our customers connect their SAP systems to our applications using web services.  We changed one of our VeriSign web server SSL certificates a few weeks ago. This new SSL certificate was signed by a VeriSign intermediate CA which itself is signed by a new VeriSign root CA.
In the past, we only took care that our customers have the corresponding VeriSign root certificate imported into their SAP via STRUST; in our case this is the following root certificate: http://www.verisign.com/repository/roots/root-certificates/PCA-3G5.pem
Now as we changed the certificate on our web server, our customers can't connect to it with their SAP systems any more. We found out that it works again, if the customers additionally import the VeriSign intermediate certificates into their SAP via STRUST; in our case the following ones: https://www.verisign.com/support/verisign-intermediate-ca/secure-site-intermediate/index.html
This is something we don't understand for two reasons:
1.) Usually it shouldn't be necessary to have intermediate certificates on client side, only on the web server. We saved the two VeriSign intermediate certificates into one file and linked it within our Apache via the "SSLCertificateChainFile" directive. This is what we expected to be enough for all SSL clients which have the corresponding root certificate within their certificate stores.
2.) Our old certificate was signed by an (other) intermediate certificate, too and we didn't have  this one on client side at our customers… it worked. Why? The only difference seems to be, that the old chain had only one intermediate certificate and the new one has two.
Anyone has an answer to these questions or an idea how to avoid uploading the intermediate certificates all the time?

    Hi !
have a look at this thread may be helpful for you .

  • SAP Certification- Views

    HI Folks
I am SAP MM Consultant,I just canceled my MM-Certification exam due to scheduling conflicts, and i am sure that i won`t be appearing in next 5-6 months.. So
I just want the views of every one on the below
In the long run of career  does SAP Certification impacts on ones professional career.
    Thanks

    HI,
Look... it is up to ur decision in deciding when you have to take the exam... but one thing is that when u are confident to clear the exam take it and clear it.
If you clear the exam obviously u will be reconised as a SAP certified consutant over the other non-certified consultants. you will have the upper hand in the interviews and in views with dignity.
You will be proud as well your confidence will increase a lot.
But in case if you are not sure in clearing then plz dont take the exam and in case if you dont clear then you will be rejected and ur confidence level will come down. trust me. it is better to be like this rather than failing in the certification is'nt it
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kiran

  • What have I done? was it my mistake to choose a career in SAP as a Fresher?

I may sound depressed but this is the question that have been hitting my brain all the time. I have done training in SAP ABAP for 6 months.. and I was good in that while training my interest towards object oriented programming was increased because of that I have decided to learn WebDynpro ABAP and i did it completely satisfied with my performance during my training. Now I came to know that there are THE less opportunities for freshers in SAP my heart was broken but I didn't lessen my interest towards a good career in SAP every day I didn't stop practicing. But its been almost a year and I still didn't get any opportunity.
Many people suggested to put a fake and I totally disagreed with them . I would like to work in a real organisation with in an ethical manner.( I beg your pardon if there are any mistakes)
Please any moral support would be helpful..including suggestions thank you so much

    Hello Nagendra ,
Would like to share a bit of my very similar experience and  hope it will help you build up your confidence.
I was to be passed out by 2008 but due to some reasons I was able to make my BTech degree by 2009 only .
It was recession time and additionally my non serious nature at that time was piling up a big trouble ( Career Gap ) for me which I was not aware. Did many courses like php , .net and spent dad's bucks like nothing.
Then I came to Delhi for doing course in .net ( again ) but landed with SAP ABAP course from a SAP training institute.
Completed ABAP course of 6 months , used to practice frequently and was very serious this time but somewhere in my mind your same question also tickled me. Continued practicing at the institute itself and thereafter my tutor ( The Great Man whom I owe a Lot ) provided me chance to work in the same institute as tutor . I was not paid , I was to take some of the sections in ABAP which really brushed my knowledge.
I continued this for almost an year ( including my course period )
And one great day from my tutors reference I got a chance to work with a Sugar Manufacturing Company where Implementation was being carried out , they wanted an Internal ABAP Programmer also who could get familiarized with the Developments being carried out.
I cleared the interview , was offered a small package ( though for me it was like getting a Golden Treasure ).
Initial 1 year was very hard , patiently worked with that company for 2.6 years and after that I made a switch to an automotive company ( Presently working ). Got a good hike .
Then new questions started arising in my mind , how to get into an IT company , we manufacturing company ABAP programmers are not given that preference compared to IT people.
Was ready to upgrade my skill ,
Started with Webdynpro , later stopped as I was not able to configure it in my companies system.
Workflow , that too was not able to configure
    Adobe form , same reason
then I landed with ABAP OO.
My participation in this super thread
Classical way to ABAP OO style of coding
helped me to make the start , started developing Reports and Driver Pgms using OO Programming Paradigm and at last I got a chance to work with SAP Labs now on  payroll of a good company
So what I want to suggest is that  don't set your mind for IT companies  at this initial stage . Try to get into a manufacturing company , make contacts and surely you will land up with a good career very soon.
    All the best

  • Need advice on Career in SAP after completing 9 yrs in IT mainly in Telecommunication Domain with BMC Remedy Tool knowledge

Need advice on Career in SAP after completing 9 yrs in IT mainly in Telecommunication Domain with BMC Remedy Tool knowledge.
Which Module of SAP I can learn and get into as I have Tool based knowledge in BMC Remedy and fair knowledge in SQL, as I come from non-IT background. What are career prospect after completing  any SAP module now will my previous experience will be taken into account?

    Prashant,
One of the reasons nobody has replied to you yet is that, this is a question with so little information provided.
    - There is no mention of your education background.
    - Your work background is very vague. What exactly did you do in Telecommunication Domain?
    - What exactly did you do in BMC Remedy? Where you just an end-user or did you do any background support work?
    - What exactly did you do in SQL? Did you work on it or did you just attend training?
    - Why do you want to jump into SAP? And what precisely you want to jump into in SAP?
    - What are your interests? Technical or Non-technical?
    - What's your career objective? Where do you want to be 5 years from now?
Without providing these information how can anyone help you? Picking a module and going with it makes no sense. What if you spend an insane amount of time and money learning a module in SAP (based on some random suggestions given here) and realize that this is not what you were looking for, or there is little scope for that module in the market? What then?
It's your career that you are planning. It definitely deserves more thought-process and planning to go into.

  • Career in SAP - PS at the age of 42. Advice needed.

    Hi,
I need some suggestions as I am considering making career transition to SAP u2013 PS. I live in the US so I will be pursuing my career in this country. Hereu2019s my background info:
I am a PMP certified and ITIL V3 Foundation certified Sr. Project Manager. I am 42 years old and I have over 15 years of IT experience. Also, I started working on my PMI-Agile certification (PMI-ACP). I work as a consultant.
My expertise is in managing from small to large development and functional projects, process improvement, data management, data strategy, liaison between IT staff and business clients, process Improvement, Software Development Life Cycle, Risks and Issues management, Business Analysis, Software Requirements, Technical Solutions, Time Estimating, Work/ Resource Breakdown Structure, Project Scheduling and Budgeting, Strategic Planning and Solutions, MS Project etc.
Prior to project management, I had strong technical background in Data warehouse, data migration, Database architecture, design, development, performance tuning etc. primarily in Oracle and SQL Server, Business objects, UNIX etc. I have around 13 years of Oracle and Unix experience.
After discussion with several training institutions, they said that SAP u2013 PS is the best option to start SAP career. My questions are:
    - Is it good idea to make a career transition to SAP at the age of 42 in USA?
    - I am at a senior level of my career. Will I be considered an entry level if I start SAP career or will my prior experience be given some credit?
    - My goal is to continue consulting for a few more years and then take a permanent (non- consulting) career. I want to stop travelling on the job. I know a few SAP professionals and they all have a travelling job. Are there good positions in SAP (Manager or director level) that do not involve a lot of travel?
    - Other than SAP-PS, what other functional areas of SAP will be worth looking into?
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Is it good idea to make a career transition to SAP at the age of 42 in USA?
It is never too late to start over or make a transition in your career. I know somebody who at 40 transitioned from a manufacturing area to become a BASIS consultant.
I am at a senior level of my career. Will I be considered an entry level if I start SAP career or will my prior experience be given some credit?
With your kind of experience and background, you will fit the bill of a Project Manager. Good knowledge in SAP PS will just be a "good-to-have" item on your resume.
My goal is to continue consulting for a few more years and then take a permanent (non- consulting) career. I want to stop travelling on the job. I know a few SAP professionals and they all have a travelling job. Are there good positions in SAP (Manager or director level) that do not involve a lot of travel?
Yes most SAP Consultants travel a lot. But it depends on the kind of organization you work for. A purely consulting company will demand frequent travelling. But if you work for a product company or if your company is the "client" then the travel is minimal.
Other than SAP-PS, what other functional areas of SAP will be worth looking into?
As I said earlier, you do not have to get your hands dirty with the various modules in SAP. For your experience you can oversee the work done by others. But yes, always better to have a good command in the module. PS module is one of the most robust and "complete" modules in SAP. It is probably the only module that is in some way or the other connected to all the core modules in SAP - MM, SD, FI, WM.... you name it.
So to sum up, if you have a great command over PS, then you pretty much know a thing or two (considering the oceanic size) in SAP.

  • Need a help / advice & guidance whether to switch on my Career in SAP-PM from core industries after spending my 09 years of experience in Core field that to in Maintenance.

    Hello Adviser /expert,
Need a help / advice & guidance whether to switch on my Career in SAP-PM from core industries after spending my 09 years of experience in Core field that to in Maintenance.
As now i m thinking to do SAP-PM certified course from authorized SAP partner in India that to Pune.
So any one can suggest authorized SAP partner in India that to Pune.
My introduction (About myself): - I had done my Diploma in Mechanical and had total 09 years of experience in Mechanical Maintenance field that to in different manufacturing company such as Steel, Auto Ancillary & Cotton plant.
Whether its right decision to change my career from Core sector to SAP-PM..??
Is there very good scope in SAP-Pm for me after 09 years of Core Maintenance field..???
    Guide me
    Warm Regard
    Ravin

    Ravindra,
SAP PM is very niche Module, very in demand module, at the same time, being niche, getting into it and getting 1 implementation is also difficult.
your decision of joining SAP authorized training is the best option, as a certified consultant, you have more chances to get a break as fresher and you can continue working on it, else it would waste of your intellectual energy.
you just search sap.com training or email them or chat with them, they will give u the training center details,
but very less training classes are available. Try you will get lucky soon

  • Career Path with SAP Netweaver

    Hi SDN Gurus,
This is a generic question around career guidence: What should be the typical/practical career graph for a person who intends to work around SAP Netweaver?
Initially, when I started my career, I was put into SAP XI, which I learnt with some enthusiasm and kind of became a fanatic towards the concept of ESOA and Integration. But later I found out that just learning SAP XI isn't enough, I realized that to actually be able to position SAP XI as a solution, I need to understand the whole netweaver architecture and also understand the functionalities of the Systems that will be integrated thtough Netweaver. So I wanted to have an understanding of how ERP works; kind of shifted to functional and worked in Some Retail Projects with SAP Retail, alongside XI. Now I understand, to a fair extent, the functionality of ERP and what benefits can it provide to the business. So, in short, I have XI skills, I functionally understand ERP, I know what can be technically done through ABAP (having done some of the coding myself); Now I want to leverge all these knowledge in positioning the entire Netweaver Platform as a solution to the business. For that, I need a functional understanding of the business problem solving capabilities of Netweaver and a Technical understanding of the Netweaver Architecture for enabling the same. For this, where do I start? How do I grow? I know SDN is the best place to start-off, definitely, but I am just looking for some guidence.
If any of you Gurus can provide me the guidence, that will be of much help.
    Thanks in anticipation!!!
    Sincere Regards,
    Amitabha

    Hi Asif,
Given your educational background, SAP CRM(Customer Relationship Mgmt) & SAP SRM will be a good choice for you to pursue your career in SAP.

  • Career in SAP with no proir experience in ERP

    Hello everybody,
I am BS(Computer science) with 2 years of software development experience in J2EE. Although I do not have any experience with ERP or CRM or Supply Chain Management but whenever I heard people talking about ERP & CRM I really get excited.
So I have decided to move my career towards SAP. Furthermore, I am in Pakistan & Siemens offers some SAP certifications which are :
    <a href="http://www.siemens.com/index.jsp?sdc_p=c135fi1175331lmno1397033pst15uz3&sdc_sid=8060024212&">http://www.siemens.com/index.jsp?sdc_p=c135fi1175331lmno1397033pst15uz3&sdc_sid=8060024212&</a>
After some initial research I found out that SAP in Pakistan is adopted by Manufacturing industry therefore I believe that Siemens Pakistan would be good in ERP- SD training than any other SAP CRM or anything like that.
What do you recommend that how do I start my career in SAP? Either as functional i.e.ERP-SD or technical i.e. Netweaver or ABAP.
    Waiting for your helpful answers.
    Regards,
    Hashir Ahmed

    Many thanks Sai & Vinay.
Yes my experience is with J2EE but I'm ready to let go that.
Furthermore, I am more interested in functional role besides that I am not impatient nor looking for an easy route, Netweaver would be easier for me but do you see some one like me obtaining a good position in ERP-SD with on job training(after certification)?
Furthermore, what is exactly the role of person with Netweaver knowledge? Can I move from Netweaver to functional role if I even start from Netweaver & doing so would benefit me?
    Regards,
    Hashir Ahmed

  • Job potential with SAP Netweaver XI 04 Certification

Easy question. SAP Consulting XI Developer/Tech jobs. Having very little SAP XI/Netweaver experience, but getting the SAP Netweaver04 XI - Developer certification would that be enough to find good SAP Consulting jobs? I have done SAP integration in B2B and A2A for years, just not in XI. Any of those of you familiar with the SAP consulting job market aware of this or know first hand?
I just don't want to waste my time doing it, if it doesn't do any good. The company I work for refuses to go the XI route so I am stuck unless I leave and start over elsewhere. As you can tell my goal is to get a good SAP XI consulting job with the certification in mind.
    Thanks for the information!
    Steve

    hi Steve,
    >>>>I have done SAP integration in B2B and A2A for years, just not in XI. Any of those of you familiar with the SAP consulting job market aware of this or know first hand?
this is big bonus for every XI developer as you will need to use IDOC
with XI too in most cases
so XI knowledge may only benefit for you I'd say
I'd rather like to have SAP consultant with
greater knowledge of SAP and R3 interfaces
then only XI (with very little R3 interfaces knowledge)
