The massive e-government project "Centuri21" in Europe will be using Oracle9iAS Portal..
For more information see:
http://www.centuri21.org/oracleprofile.htm
CENTURi21 is part of the EU Information Societies Technology (IST) Programme which will promote the widespread use of electronic services by everyone.
It is a consortium of seven European authorities and ten major high-tech companies which aims to make society much more efficient.
How? By providing information centrally which everyone can use to improve their lives.
CENTURi21 will be simple to use. It is an electronic network which will be available wherever there is access to the Internet. It will enable you to connect to a diverse, ever-expanding range of local and European services.

  • Use of link, alink, and vlink - need "good" example for my APEX app

    Hi anyone,
    I have a report with values in the "Last Name" column that links to another page (page 4) that opens when any last name in the said column is clicked on. However, before the last name link is clicked on its color is blue; but I want the link color to change to green after it is clicked on and the linked page opens; and I want the link to change to purple after the linked page is closed (visited link). Can someone provide a simple step by step example of how I can implement this in my app.
    I tried looking at some posts that are similar but I am somewhat confused.
    Thanks in anticipation for any assistance.
    Ric

    Hi Ric,
    This can be done by using CSS styles. There are several ways of accomplishing this.
    If you want ALL links on your page to use the same colors put something like this in the HTML header of your page:
    <style>
    a:link    { color:blue; }
    a:visited { color:purple;}
    a:active  { color:blue;}
    a:hover   { color:blue; }
    </style>This allows you to define the colors for the four different states of a link.
    If you want specific links to use this coloring and not affect other links on your pages, you'll have to add a class to the styles (you can choose your own classname of course):
    <style>
    .custom_link a:link    { color:blue; }
    .custom_link a:visited { color:purple;}
    .custom_link a:active  { color:blue;}
    .custom_link a:hover   { color:blue; }
    </style>Next, add the classname to the link attributes in your report.
    class="custom_link"Hope this helps...

  • Post some good examples for logical database

    The PROGRAM statement has the addition DEFINING DATABASE TEST_LDB. This defines the database program as belonging to the logical database TEST_LDB.
    The nodes of the structure are declared with the TABLES statement which generates the appropriate table work areas. You can also use the NODES statement to define database tables as nodes. If a node of a logical database is not a database table, you must use the NODES statement. The interface work areas are shared by the database program and the user, and so act as an interface for passing data. The term "user" here can mean either an executable program to which the logical database is linked, or the function module LDB_PROCESS.
    The subroutines INIT and PBO initialize the selection screen.
    In the PAI subroutine, you can include an authorization check for the user input on the selection screen. Plausibility or value range checks are also possible. If a check fails, you can write an error dialog. The corresponding field on the selection screen is then made ready for input again.
    The PUT_<node> subroutines read the database tables according to the selection criteria entered by the user and trigger the relevant events in the executable program. This program is intended only to show the essential structure of a logical database. It does not contain any refinements to improve response times. The order in which the subroutines are called is determined by the structure of the logical database.

    I am trying to copy the existing SCSM views and trying to achieve this using  NEW-SCSMView.

    Thanks &amp; Regards, Dinesh

    Hi,
    We should first get the existing view criteria tag. And then with new-scsmview command to use the existing criteria.
    You may go through the links below for more details:

  • Need good template for Artist - Must have GOOD instructions

    Hi.
    I'm not a total Newbie, but I'm looking for a nice template for artists. The important thing is that it has really good instructions for customizing it. I'm not totally new, but I don't have the time to learn right now so the instructions need to be really basic. No "assuming" I already know CSS.
    It needs to have the ability to show lots of pictures and blow them up when clicked. I'm willing to pay for it as long as it's doable.
    Thanks.

    I haven't thought about using Wordpress. I know a lot of people use it. Would there be a steep learning curve going that route?
    Any learning curve is subjective. Try it and see if it's a good fit for you.
    Wordpress is widely used by novices and experts alike.
    Actually, I remember now that I did look into it but found that being on a Mac there were some extra steps involved getting started  and I couldn't find explanations or definitions for some of the terms.
    There are no extra steps for a Mac compared to a PC that I'm aware of.
    Ask specific questions about terms and you'll get specific answers.

  • I need code example for server act as client and vice versa

    Hi all,
    I want code example for performing both server and clients using RMI. I mean Server will act as client and client will act as server. So a single program will act as both client and server .
    Please give example, it will helpful to complete my project. I am struggling in this stage. Its like peer to peer action.
    Thanks & Regards
    R.Ragupathi

    1. The tutorial shows you how to do cleint/server.
    2. Search on the topic "callback" to see how cleint and server roles can be reversed.

  • Need good tutorial for J2EE

    Hi All,
    Can anyone help in out in finding a good tutorial for J2EE.
    I wanted to have glimpses of this technology before delving deeply into it.
    Also please suggest some good reference books on the same
    Thanks
    Ankush

    I'm afraid there is no quick way of learning J2EE. Of all the people on this forum only a few have truly mastered the framework. I suggest you learn it step-by-step by following the tutorial. Read the introduction to give you a glimpse of the technology and then, dive in....
    The way I learned it was by building a three-tier website based on Servlets, JSP and EJB. After a few days/weeks in hell, I had an overview of the technology. I suggest you do the same.
    As for book suggestions : stick to the standards. You (almost) can't go wrong with Wrox or O'Reilly.
    Success,

  • Need code example for StringTokenizer to hashmap...

    I am creating a rolodex with name, phone, address, city, state. The data will be saved to a delimited file. When the app begins I have to read the file to get the records into memory. My GUI will list the names. The user should be able to click on one of the names to open a dialog box in which all the fields will appear and wil be editable.
    I need some assistance with design...
    I think I should use BufferedReader and StringTokenizer for reading the file in. Then perhaps store the records in a hashmap(need help with that - Is hashmap the thing to use? Maybe arraylist instead? How do i do it?) The records should be stored sorted by name in memory and in the file. Next, I figure I can show the names using a table and hide the other columns, when a cell is clicked I can pop up the dialog box with all the goodies in it. When I save it should be to memory, how do I do that? Then when the app closes I will write out using PrintWriter.
    There are other things going on, buttons, listeners, etc. but the basic design is what I need advice on. Any ideas are welcome and appreciated!

    From the name to get the record, clearly you need a effecient lookup mechnism.
    HashMap does hash lookup, that is right, but HashMap does NOT do ordering.
    TreeMap does binary lookup, TreeMap also does ordering.
    There you go the basic design.
