NEED Good Learning Material

OK here is the deal. I need to learn as much content networking as possible between now and the end of September. How did you everyone here learn? I need reference material. Any ideas or links welcome. Thanks in advance for the help.
bc

First, you need to know TCP/IP in details.
Any books, RFC on the subject is good.
Then, you need to know the mechanism of HTTP and other protocols like DNS and FTP.
Once you know this, you can read the CSS and/or CSM configuration material that you will find on this website.
The important things to remember from these manuals are the concepts and not the commands.
Like - what is a sticky connection ? On what parameter can you do stickyness ?
What type of loadbalancing are available ?
What's the difference between them ?
What's the advantage of one compare to another ?
By reading the configuration manual, you will see all these concepts. Try to understand them and ask yourself why we do it like this and not another way (if you know very well the protocols involved like TCP and HTTP, you should know why).
I hope this will help.
Gilles.

  • Need XI Learning material

    Hi,
Can any one provide me step by step procedure to learn XI.
    Thank you
    With regards
    Satish

    Hi Satish,
First i would like to welcome to the fascinating world of XI. If it’s just that you wanted to know more about sap xi....then the information below should definitely help you.
The best way to learn XI would be to make the maximum use of XI from its forums, weblogs, presentations, etc in SDN.
First I thought I will just give u the basic steps involved in doing any scenario in XI. This is very essential for a beginner.
First of all you would need to define your product, software component, business system and configure the technical landscape in the sld.
You then go on to create the objects in the repository, you import your software component here and then begin your design steps. To import your RFCs n Idocs if you require any before proceeding.
Then under the name space which you want, you go on to define your data types, message types and message interfaces.
Then you do your message mappings where you specify your source and target message types and the relation between them, then you do your interface mapping. If you are using a BPM, you do the integration process.
Once you have this done, you will have to move to the directory, here is where you define how you use the objects and how you configure them to work as a scenario.
You assign your business system to the configuration scenario which you have created, and create the communication channels. Then you go on to configure the receiver determination, interface determination, and the sender and receiver agreements. Once you’re done you will have make sure you activate your objects. The exact parameters steps depend on what kind of scenario you are implementing.
You can use sxmb moni or the runtime workbench to monitor the entire scenario which you have done.
Also I would suggest this link on SAP help for any info that you want on XI,
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
Further, this thread deals with everything that is needed for a starter on XI. Do check them out,
    JDBC Receiver: exact SQL statement
    /message/527697#527697 [original link is broken]
And after you are done with the documentation probably you can go through this scenario,
    JDBC Receiver: exact SQL statement
Also check the following threads which might help you a little more,
    Learning XI
    XI 3.0 Training
Now lets see the installation of SAP XI,
Follow these steps while installing XI:
    1. Windows server or advanced server with latest service patch.
    2. IE 6.0 with latest service patch
    3. Install Microsoft office and winzip, acrobat
    4. Install JDK with version 1.4.2_03 or above with the corresponding JVM
    5. Install the SAP GUI 6.20
    6. Make sure that you have hard disk space of 10 GB in C drive and 50 GB in the installation drive.
    7. Make sure the virtual memory is between 512 and 1594 or above for the installation drive.
    8. Copy the dumps of following DVDs into the installation drive.
    • Installation Master DVD
    • Installation Export
    • Additonal Components for SAP BW/SAP XI,SAP MI,SAP KW
    • SAP Web As Java
    9. Start the installation from the DVD dump Installation Master DVD.
    10. When installing the ABAP Database the SID of the oracle default database should be different the ABAP database SID.
U can go through the Installtion Guides for Installing XI from http://service.sap.com/instguides (SR1 installation)
u can also refer to service.sap.com/platforms to see the available platform on which XI can be installed. ( Windows/linux/UNIX)
or you can even go through this weblog which clearly talks to you about XI installation
    <a href="/people/sap.user72/blog/2005/05/31/my-experience-with-xi-installation-on-fedora-core-3-linux installation</a>
In addition to this installation guide you also need to download the XI configuration guide which is very useful for technical configurations of various adapters and XI system.
At the same place you will also get the XI configuration guide e.g XI30ConfigGuideSPS11.pdf.
U can also download SAP Exchange Infrastructure 3.0 SR1 Installtion Guide from the articles scetion.
In simple words regarding learning XI, there is an abundance of information on SDN and help.sap.com…. So I think it will be better for you to search information there rather than me just providing you links….which will just go on and on and on….so I felt it is better for you to go and search so that not only you get information on SAP XI but also explore SDN in its real sense.

    Abhy

  • Need to learn abap  objects plz help me

    hi to all sdners ,
i need to learn oops  in abap plz send me material and tutorials for learning it. please help me .you  can send all the materials to my mail id [email protected] will rewarded.

    hi
    Object Oriented prg
A programming technique in which solutions reflect real world objects
    What are objects ?
An object is an instantiation of a class. E.g. If “Animal” is a class, A cat
can be an object of that class .
With respect to code, Object refers to a set of services ( methods /
attributes ) and can contain data
    What are classes ?
A class defines the properties of an object. A class can be instantiated
    as many number of times
    Advantages of Object Orientated approach
Easier to understand when the system is complex
    Easy to make changes
Encapsulation - Can restrict the visibility of the data ( Restrict the access to the data )
Polymorphism - Identically named methods behave differently in different classes
Inheritance - You can use an existing class to define a new class
Polymorphism and inheritance lead to code reuse

  • Hello, i am new to the mac and i need to learn how to re image using an external hard drive

Hello, i am new, like baby fresh new,...lol, to the mac and i need to learn how to re-image using an external hard drive.

How to replace or upgrade a drive in a laptop
Step One: Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Step Two: Remove the old drive and install the new drive.  Place the old drive in an external USB enclosure.  You can buy one at OWC who is also a good vendor for drives.
Step Three: Boot from the external drive.  Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager appears.  Select the icon for the external drive then click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Step Four: New Hard Drive Preparation
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your new hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID  then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
Step Five: Clone the old drive to the new drive
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    4. Check the box labeled Erase destination.
    5. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the new internal drive. Source means the old external drive.
Step Six: Open the Startup Disk preferences and select the new internal volume.  Click on the Restart button.  You should boot from the new drive.  Eject the external drive and disconnect it from the computer.

  • New To Mac's Need to learn how to use it!

I recently have become the owner of a Power Mac G4. I am a longtime pc user and now I need to learn as much about the Mac. Where can I get good clear complete manuals or books on just how the Mac works and how do you move around in one, such as looking at directories, creating the same, installing software programs, etc.
    Thanks!

    Welcome to Mac-dom!
Here's another great Apple page with lots of instructional videos if, like me, you are a visual learner:
    http://www.apple.com/findouthow/mac/
When you start thinking about hardware questions, consider posting in the other G4 forum here. You model number indicates you have a G4 "Quicksliver," one generation older than the ones covered in this forum. The forum labeling is so cryptic that is hard to figure out exactly where to post G4 questions. Either place will work, frankly.
Updating your equipment line in your profile will make it faster to get help. A lot of people don't know an M8493 is a Quicksilver, so use the name instead. Also do "About this Mac" from the Apple menu to find your processor speed and amount of RAM installed. Adding that to the equipment line helps everyone.
I hope you enjoy the Apple forums as much as I do. I've learned a lot here!

  • What I've learnt so far and what I need to learn next.

    Hi,
I've been struggling with Extension Builder 3 for 2 days and have made some head way with it but I've got a long way to go.
If you are a novice like me, this post will could provide some useful info, if you are an extension builder guru, skip this part and try help me with what I need to learn
    What I've learnt:
    1) Extension Builder 3 sucks but CCEB4B is awesome: http://davidderaedt.github.io/CC-Extension-Builder-for-Brackets/
         - EB3 requires you to close down Photoshop everytime you want to test your extensions, CCEB4B doesn't
         - EB3 is slow and ugly, CCEB4B is fast and beautiful.
         - CCEB4B set's up an extension icon in your manifest that you can edit straight away (nice touch).
    2) AngularJS (or something similar) is a must have for advanced extensions. Using controllers helps abstract your code which is always nice.
    3) You can't automagically JSON an object in ExtendScript and send it back to JS, you have to manually do it which isn't great but works well as an extension, (although not all photoshop object work with extensions, namely Layers & ArtLayers).
    var ArtLayer = function () {}
    var ArtLayers = function () {}
    ArtLayer.prototype.toJson = function() {
        return "{ name: '{0}', bounds: { left: '{1}', top: '{2}', right: '{3}', bottom: '{4}' } }".format(
            this.name,
            this.bounds[0],
            this.bounds[1],
            this.bounds[2],
            this.bounds[3]
    4) String.format function is handy Used in the code above.
    if (!String.prototype.format) {
      String.prototype.format = function() {
        var args = arguments;
        var sprintfRegex = /\{(\d+)\}/g;
        var sprintf = function (match, number) {
          return number in args ? args[number] : match;
        return this.replace(sprintfRegex, sprintf);
    5) Always use ExtendScript Toolkit to verify that your JSX files run before testing your extension, it's much easier to debug problems that way.
    6) Adobe generator looks good, if you are making anything that exports images you probably want to use it instead of looping through all the layers via ExtendScript.
    What I need:
    1) Event Reference for use with CSInterface.addEventListener
    2) A way to sychronously return a result from CSInterface.evalScript
    3) Can ExtendScript have the same power Generator has with exporting layers?
    4) Why can't we do Layers.prototype.toJson = function etc?

    What I need:
    1) Event Reference for use with CSInterface.addEventListener
I would like that too. Documentation is pretty sparse and none of the event listener examples actually work (inside of PPRO anyway).
    2) A way to sychronously return a result from CSInterface.evalScript
Not sure why you need it to be synchronous. Your should always expect that parts of your app are blocking and therefore use callbacks religiously. If you need sequential execution you can achieve that inside of the jsx file. Also, the evalScript does let you define a callback method quite easily.

  • Need to learn Oracle Financials-Need Info

Need to learn Oracle Financials.Anyone with any info.
    Please email [email protected]

There are so many versions and packages of Oracle. Which one should I learn?
    latest version is oracle 10g
but i think you will go oracle 9i rel 2
because all commercial application use oracle 9i database.
Which is the easiest way to get trained and certified? What kind of certification do I need?
you need a oracle 9i dba certification
or may be 9i developer certification
    it up to you
but oracle 9i dba is more valuable than developer track
you will learn this from oracle university
excellent oracle material for ocp (but it is too costly also)
    http://otn.oracle.com/training/index.html
Or u will read your self
    all oracle docs available athttp://otn.oracle.com/documentation/index.html
better you will read first this

My need: to find a job that was similar to previous ones that I had. My previous job function was to develop database applications using Visual FoxPro,
in oracle ,oracle developer is used for such type of application
    its front end tool
    gui tool like v.foxpro
and oracle database is backend tool for store information
i think v.fox pro perform both work as frontend as backend
    in oracle
oracle developer is front end(old name is D2k)
    oracle database is back end
i am also a developer but now find job as dba.
i am always intersting in DBA . but in IT market
there is no entry level DBA job and
its very difficult to go for dba job without experience.
    so my suggestion is
    read your self
install oracle on u r pc read docs from otn.oracle.com web site
and find a job on oracle platform

  • Need to learn data transfer

    hi to abapers,
need to learn learn data transfer bdc,bi,ct,lsmw .plz send me links.or send it to my mail [email protected]  material will be rewarded

    Hi,
        BDC:
Batch Data Communication (BDC) is the process of transferring data from one SAP System to another SAP system or from a non-SAP system to SAP System.
    Features :
    BDC is an automatic procedure.
This method is used to transfer large amount of data that is available in electronic medium.
BDC can be used primarily when installing the SAP system and when transferring data from a legacy system (external system).
BDC uses normal transaction codes to transfer data.
    Types of BDC :
    CLASSICAL BATCH INPUT (Session Method)
    CALL TRANSACTION
    BATCH INPUT METHOD:
This method is also called as ‘CLASSICAL METHOD’.
    Features:
    Asynchronous processing.
    Synchronous Processing in database update.
Transfer data for more than one transaction.
Batch input processing log will be generated.
During processing, no transaction is started until the previous transaction has been written to the database.
    CALL TRANSACTION METHOD :
This is another method to transfer data from the legacy system.
    Features:
Synchronous processing. The system performs a database commit immediately before and after the CALL TRANSACTION USING statement.
Updating the database can be either synchronous or asynchronous. The program specifies the update type.
Transfer data for a single transaction.
Transfers data for a sequence of dialog screens.
No batch input processing log is generated.

  • Explain the terms of  Revaluations,Goods Movements,Material Stocks.

    Hi all,
I am technical consultant, need to under satnd the terms in Inventory Evaluation so please help me regarding the below things:
    1. Please tell what is" Revaluations" process in Inventory & what is this effect on stock?
    2. what is the Goods Movements & material Stock types ?
Please give me the above details.
    Thanks,
    Kiran Manyam

    hi,
    Revaluation:
When changing your plan data, you can revaluate the values using either a percentage increase or decrease. This enables you, for example, to base your plan values for 1999 on your actual values from 1998 plus 10%.
You can execute the revaluation when changing plan data automatically, and in interactive planning
    Goods movement :
Its means nothing but the moving of goods for one may be from one storage loc to another , plant to plant, etc..
Inside it you will posting for :
    1. sampling
    2. scrapping
    3. unrestricted to Blocked
    2. unres. to Quality
    etc..
    Stock type:
    There are three stock type:
    1. Unrestricted ( valuated, can be plaanedvia mrp)
    2. quality stock (valuated, can be planned(check once))
    3. blocked stock(valuated, not able to plan via mrp)
Apart from all three therealso GR blocked which is non-valuated type
    Matrial  type:
Its define the type of material whther its UNBW non-stock matrial , roh , HALB etc...depending upon this only the quantity / value is unpated....as defined in the customization..

  • Do I need to learn C++?

I just got the iOS 5 cookbook and it suggests that one needs to learn a bit C++ before learning Objective-C.  So how much is a bit?  I mean exactly how much C++ knowlege do I need to learn Objective-C and iphone app development?

    From the Beginner's Guide :
    -=-
You mentioned looking for some place to start with coding and Objective-C. This is a good idea. I think it's always smart to learn the various languages involved first, before you move to a specific platform such as iPhone. Objective-C is the language you will want to learn for iPhone development.
However, keep in mind that Objective-C is just a superset of (an extension to) the C language, so trying to learn Objective-C will most likely not be realistic if you don't have a solid foundation with C first. Luckily, there are a few good books out there on Objective-C, and many on C.
