Next time, you can use the Text Wrap function, so you don't need to manually wrap the text.

How to start up from 2nd mac? Need to un-trash deleted files...

I accidentally put in trash and emptied a folder with weeks of work and I have to do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE get it back. The Mac shops here in L.A. are all minimum 5-7 days repair turnaround - that means I can't work for five days and they may not be able salvage anything anyway.

I've found Norton UnErase is useless unless you had FileSaver previously installed and running regular backups.
I don't know anyone local with a Mac but I could take my G3 to work, try to start it with my G5 there and run a shareware app called DataRecoveryTool 2.0.3. So far installing DRT on one of my 3 partitions hasn't worked - it doesn't recognize or list any volumes to recover..
Trouble is, I don't know how to start one Mac from another. I just need an ethernet cable and some keyboard commands, right? I've seen it done long ago.. My cousin in Pasadena has a Powerbook - can I do it with that? What do I need to bring with me?

Firewire Target Disk Mode could achieve what you want - except that the B&W G3 models can not be the Target machine in such a setup, although they can be the Host machine.
Data Recovery may work only on a disk basis, not a volume basis. Here's a couple of other utilities to try, ones designed to recover data from a mechanically sound drive which refuses to mount.

Virtual Lab
You may need to pull the drive from the B&W G3 and place it in a multi-drive capable Mac, then use a data recovery utility on the B&W's drive while that other Mac is booted to its normal drive.

New to Mac - do I need to create a start-up disc?

I've recently switched over to an iMac from PC - I've worked with macs but I didn't have to deal with back-ups myself (they were all networked)
I have an external HDD which uses Time Machine to back-up - I did hope to use that as back-up and keep a stash of stock photos (large file!) on there too but I've heard that it's not a good idea to do that (even if I partitioned the drive)
My main issue is that I've heard that the back-ups cannot be used as a 'start-up' disc in case something happens to the iMac - so can someone let me know how I should go about doing this? (I didn't get any discs with the iMac so what do I do if something does happen?)
and while I'm asking questions... do you think I should get another external HDD? one to use for photo storage etc (I work professionally with Photography so they are large files) and then use the other for time-machine?

I've moved over from a PC to a MBP since May, and have dealt with similar backup issues concerning backups of software projects (also large files) daily. So I can share my thoughts and experience here.
1) I would keep the photo file originals on a separate external USB HDD (not the Time Machine backup) with Read-Only attribute. When I copy files from my Mac to an external disk drive, I think it automatically takes on an archive attribute (read-only). With Leapord 10.5, I think that drive can even be in NTFS format (as used by Windows XP & Vista).
Since HDD eventually fails, I would, over time, back up these high resolution photos on Dual density (8GB) DVDs.
Because it'll probably take too many DVDs to back up al the photos, an easier option is to purchase an external backup drive systems that automatically back up a copy of your data on its own separate physical HDD package inside the same box. At the minimum, the box would actually contain two identical size HDD, but you get to use only one. The second drive is for the automatic backup. These boxes are called RAIDs, and a decent one will notify you when it detects a disk error on any one of the two drives so you can preventively replace the faulty drive to give your data full protection. The best I've seen cost $800 list for a TeraByte of protected disk storage. This box actually uses multiple data redundancy schemes to give you flexibility in buying HDDs as your need grows, but you do need to start with at least two drives for data protection. See...

As far as whether you need to create a start-up disk, I believe the answer is no. From Apples own online documentation, you can recovering your Mac installation from Time Machine. I understand that if you allow Time Machines to back up up everything (default setting), the procedure to full system recovery is:
1) Reformat the boot disk and restore MacOS X from the CDs that came with the computer.
2) Connect the external Time Machine backup drive, bring up Time Machine and restore. You can find the details by searching the Time Machine discussions. I saw some users even tried the procedure out for real.
I've consider using one of the many backup software to back up a full disk image of my Mac, so I re-install my Mac with that disk image. The problem with this is it's a duplicating backup scheme: twice the amount of work and cost. And when the mac crashes, which one backup do I use?

Does anybody can explain how to start and finish a transaction using EJB 3.0. I need to start a transaction insert some information in some tables and if everything was fine commit the information.
I put the annotation @TransactionManagement(TransactionManagementType.BEAN) in my session bean and @Resource SessionContext ejbContext; but I don't what anything else I have to do.
Any help will be appreciate.

I tryied to use in the client the statement EntityTransaction transaction = myBean.getTransact(); but I receive the EJBException: Cannot use resource level transactions with a container managed EntityManager

which means - fixed length 4,6 and && starts new recordset.
I need to get structure like:

</item>

<recordset> ... with h,f and 6,u </recordset>
<recordset>

Any ideas?
Let's say, I can add && on the beginning of the file and other "lite" changes... but structure stays the same...
so, how to start new recordset? with which conversion parameter? for items it is clear...

How to start and stop the BI Services in Solaris 10

Can anyone guide me on how to start and stop the BI Services in Solaris 10. In windows there are options set in Start->Programs->Middleware_Home->Start/Stop BI Services.
Primarily after doing changes to the scheduler configuration, I need to restart the services to get it implemented? If yes how can I do it?

How to start with JDeveloper?

As a straight A student of Computer Science, I put my hands on database development of an information system project for our CS faculty this summer. JDeveloper is used as the IDE for such project.
I have learnt Java 2 and something about Oracle database in my courses. Now, after reading the product introduction and a short online course outline in iDeveloper2001, I have a brief idea about it. But since I can not afford much, how to learn more about it? Could you offer me some advices?

IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
*Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
*IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.

To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
Create Segment ( WE31)
Create Idoc Type ( WE30 )
Create Message Type ( WE81 )
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82 )
Creating a Segment
Go to transaction code WE31
Enter the name for your segment type and click on the Create icon
Type the short text
Enter the variable names and data elements
Save it and go back
Go to Edit -> Set Release
Follow steps to create more number of segments
Create IDOC Type
Go to transaction code WE30
Enter the Object Name, select Basic type and click Create icon
Select the create new option and enter a description for your basic IDOC type and press enter
Select the IDOC Name and click Create icon
The system prompts us to enter a segment type and its attributes
Choose the appropriate values and press Enter
The system transfers the name of the segment type to the IDOC editor.
Follow these steps to add more number of segments to Parent or as Parent-child relation
Save it and go back
Go to Edit -> Set release
Create Message Type
Go to transaction code WE81
Change the details from Display mode to Change mode
After selection, the system will give this message The table is cross-client (see Help for further info). Press Enter
Click New Entries to create new Message Type
Fill details
Save it and go back
Assign Message Type to IDoc Type
Go to transaction code WE82
Change the details from Display mode to Change mode
After selection, the system will give this message The table is cross-client (see Help for further info). Press Enter.
Click New Entries to create new Message Type.

You can have the MDM JAVA API javadocs from the link

There you can see a package named com.sap.mdm.examples.The classes in it contains some examples using which you can start understanding the code.
You need to have MDM JAR files for it. And these JAR files to be used at build time can be added to the project thru :-
Right click on project-> properties->Java Build Path - > Add external JARs
At run time you can add them the reference in
Right click on project-> properties->web dynpro references->library reference.
