Need hardware configuration

Dear freinds,
I have to deliver the hardware configuration for the upcoming client.
they have 30 concurrent users,
OS - Windows2003 EE
DB - Oracle 10g
R3  - ECC6.0
<u>Please help to get the sizes for:-</u>
1 . Dev server
2 .Qas server
3.  Prd Server on clustering
4 . IDES
5. Solution Manager and SapRouter.
7. BI - Dev
8.BI - Prd
I want to know the sapce required for each server.
Please reply at the earliest.
Thanks & Regards.

check on the left side in the tree
"Using the Quick Sizer"
You also have there an "Quick Sizer Offline Questionnaire V7" so can put in the data there.
Also check there the "online help", which will explain, how to interpret the questions and what to fill in.
The user types are defined in the contract with SAP, this is also company specific.

    Hi All,
Need server hardware configuration for deploying and maintaining SSAS cube. Consider OLTP size as 100 GB
    Thanks,

    Hi Atrsams,
According to your description, you need some hardware recommendations for deploying and maintaining a SQL Server Analysis Services cube, right?
Though this isn't a sizing recommendation, I'd encourage you to buy as much memory as you can afford. This is generally the choke point I've seen on servers, especially when using SSAS. For the detail information about it, please refer to the links below.

  • Need Server Hardware Configuration Advice

    Good morning!
We are using Microsoft Visual SourceSafe for version control.
Two years ago, when I requested that RoboHelp be connected to a
database application for version control and multi-author support
(I asked for RoboSource Control on a dedicated server), they gave
us SourceSafe on a shared server. We now have 40 help systems and
have suffered many losses (corrupt database = rebuild the project
using the html files) as that shared server has gone down while
    RoboHelp was connected to it.
I'm submitting a work request to our IT department today for:
    1) Upgrade from RoboHelp Office 5 to RoboHelp 6
    2) Purchase and installation of RoboHelp Server 6
    3) Purchase of a dedicated server
I'm stuck on what to ask for with respect to the server
hardware configuration - and afraid that if I don't provide them
with detailed specifications that they'll provide us with another
inadequate setup. We currently have a need for 13 simultaneous
authors - some over VPN - to work under version control, and we're
growing. Can anyone provide me with a recommendation for server
    hardware configuration?
Adobe's web site only specifies the system requirements for
the RoboHelp Server 6 software installation - and sales support
told me that they are not able to recommend a server configuration.
I don't like going into this at the mercy of anyone in our IT
department! My husband, who is a database administrator, gave me
the following advice and I'm wondering if that's all I need to tell
IT or are there other potential issues I need to cover?
    quote:
For the storage or “hard drive” you want a RAID
controller with an array of hard drives for your data. You will
have a C: drive for the OS but your data should be separated from
the OS on a RAID controller with an array of hard drives.
For RAM you want a few gigs.
In addition to the application software
requirement of 100 MB of hard drive space, we currently have 42GB
(2.5 years) of help system data. We have 40 help systems spread
between 10 databases (separated by lines of business) - we used
this configuration because early in the game we thought our
corruption issues were stemming from databases that were too large
for SourceSafe to handle. I'm wondering, with RoboHelp Server 6
will we need to use multiple databases or can it handle 40+ help
    systems in one database?
I also have a need for a few help systems to be in their own
databases because we are running them for other companies owned by
the bank and that data can't be co-mingled - can RoboHelp Server 6
    handle multiple databases?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

    Hi THessler
I've used Microsoft Visual Source Safe (VSS) quite
successfully for many years with RoboHelp with no issues such as
you are citing. You further state something I and probably many
    others here find very disturbing.
    You said:
We now have 40 help systems and have suffered many losses
(corrupt database = rebuild the project using the html files) as
that shared server has gone down while RoboHelp was connected to
    it.
This would seem to imply that you aren't using RoboHelp
correctly with the source control system. And if this proves to be
true, you will likely see the SAME behavior with RoboSource Control
or any other source control system you decide to use.
Please allow me to explain. RoboHelp does not like working in
any form of a networked situation, period. If you use it this way,
it will frequently crash and corrupt files and all sorts of ill
mannered things. Bottom line is that RoboHelp absolutely needs to
be working on files only when they are stored on your local PC.
I know I know, how does one accomplish this with a Source
Control system? After all, the fact the Source Control system has
to sit on a server means working from a server, no?
Here's the deal. With any Source Control system you use, you
should find that you have the main Source Control database, which
    resides on a server.
But (and here's the kicker) when you configure users that
participate in Source Control, each user is configured with
    something called a
Working folder. This is a special folder where the files
from the database are copied to. RoboHelp should be working on
files inside this folder. As they are updated, copies are placed on
    the server copy.
Sooo, before abandoning VSS or before totally configuring the
new source control system, I'd first ensure you are using it
properly. You may just find that you don't need to spend the money
for a new source control system after all.
    Cheers... Rick

    Take a read of this.
I have bad news for you. Since your laptop is a CTO model...the configuration is not available on the web. Do you have the (invoice) paperwork that came with your notebook? That should have a wealth of information on it.
have you tried connecting an external display to your notebook with a VGA connector to verify that your graphich solution is no longer working?
here is a link to numerous videos that show how to remove and replace  most anything in your laptop. The videos (supplied by HP) do not show how to open the case and get the CPU information.

  • Hardware Configuration in MAX when not logged in as Administrator

I am attempting to load a .cfg file for a VME device through the Hardware Configuration option on MAX.  When you are not logged in as an administrator, the option is greyed out.  I do not have the option of always running this as an administrator.  However, I can set special permissions on certain folders or registry keys if necessary to allow non-administrators access to those locations in order to get the hardware configuration to work in MAX.
Does anybody know what special permissions would need to be set?

    Hi Pual,
What operating system are you using? I’m not sure if there are additional specific files or registry keys, but could you give your use full control over the Measurement and Automation Explorer program?  Let me know if you can test that out.

  • Hardware configuration planning

We are migrating from Stellent 7.5.1 to UCM 11g and doing h/w capacity planning for new version. Want to know what are the parameters to do the capacity planning.
    We are assuming:
    - 200 concurrent users in 1 min, with the capacity to upload 5-8 mb of file upload by every user.
    - The uploaded document gets converted in to PDF and webviewable format.
    - The repository size of 1.5 TB with growth rate of 100 gb per quarter.
Is there a way/calculation mechanism/tool helps to analyse the capacity of production server hardware configuration with the above mentioned usage and scenarios.
What is the Oracle's minimum and recommended h/w configuration for a UCM11g.
    Thanks

    - The repository size of 1.5 TB with growth rate of 100 gb per quarter. In order to calculate the sizing more precisely you need to estimate also
    a) how many pages an approximate user will see (e.g. per minute) - this estimates UI activity
    b) how many checkins will occur (e.g. per minute) - is the 5-8 mb one bigger file or several smaller files?
As a rule of thumb (if you don't know anything better), you may calculate that one license CPU can serve approx. 500 users, if their requirements do not contain anything special.
In your particular case, it will be desirable to separate conversions; that is, install IBR on separate servers. With 200 docs of size 5-8 MB per minute (I used the available benchmark 10MB), the calculation sheet gives me the estimate of 195(!) Conversion Servers (if I used the other closest available benchmark, it gives me 20 CSs, so expect to be somewhere in between).
Anyway, one thing is obvious: your project will be about mastering conversions.

  • Bootcamp Stops on "setup is inspecting your computer hardware configuration"

Just bought a new iMac for my business computer and can't get Windows XP SP2 to load. It stops on "setup is inspecting your computer hardware configuration". I am running BootCamp 3.0.4. It has the 2.5 Ghz i5 processor. I have read other support document say I need Windows 7. I have the same setup on MacBook Pro and it worked fine. I can't use Windows 7. I have programs that require Windows XP. HELP. Please no responses telling me to use Windows 7. I can't!

the 2011s are Sandy Bridge based and your OEM DVD for OS X doesn't have driver support from Apple.
As for windows 7 and legacy apps.... Windows 7 is pretty good at anything other than 16-bit apps, and even has XP mode - or you can try running XP in a VM as a guest OS in Mac OS X.
Your other MBP is 2010 model, no?
I assume Apple would have to develop new driver support and there are a lot of changes in the 2011 MBP. Apple isn't known for backward compatibility. Not when you have Intel graphics, TB, new processor family and SATA3 in there.

    HI,
For your home testing you might need a latest technology to get a smooth and fast installation. i7 processor might be the ideal with memory at least 8GB. if you're planning to have more than 3 VMs running at the same time than you need 12-16GB memory at least.
From my experience installing on vm and allocated memory 2.5GB each VM the installation could take 15-30minutes

  • Fieldpoint - How to reconfigured Field point hardware configuration

    Respected Sir,
We are using labview version 5.1, operating system windows 95, FiledPoint explorer 1.6,
I would kindly request all to please help to solve how to reconfigured Field point hardware, I am new learner of labVIEW.
When i run Fieldpoint explorer 1.6, in labview 5.1 operating WINDOWS 95 version, i received one command as
A value return from the server is out of the expected range.
The FieldPoint hardware ranges need to be re configured, so they match the ranges saved in the configuration file.
Go to each device configuration dialog and select channel configuration to synchronize the saved configuration with the hardware configuration.
    Thanking You
    Yours faithfully
    M.Viajy

That is correct. There is no way to simulate a FieldPoint device. The suggested workaround should work well for you, however. Create some simulated VIs that perform the same task as the FieldPoint writes and reads (at least in terms of what inputs they accept or outputs they have), and place them in the other case in a Case Structure as the FieldPoint VIs.
LabVIEW 8 takes these possibilities one step further with Conditional Disable Structures and Diagram Disable Structures. The difference between these two structures and a Case Structure is that code in the disabled cases doesn't even compile. This means you could even have broken wires or broken subVIs inside the disabled case, and you'd still be able to run your program. In the case of this FieldPoint application, you could use a Conditional Disable Structure that automatically polls the target OS type (Windows, Linux, Pharlap ETS, etc) and selectively compiles one case based on the target OS. This would allow you to seamlessly run VIs on your computer and FieldPoint without modifying any code. The other advantage is that the simulated FieldPoint code wouldn't get compiled when you target your real FieldPoint device, so you wouldn't increase your code size or memory usage unnecessarily for the final product.

  • Hardware Configurations of whole Oracle Products

May I know what are the detailed hardware configuration if I want to install
    1) Oracle Database 9i
    2) Oracle Developer suite
    3) Oracle Application Server
Pls include the needed hard disks amount,
    memory etc.
    Thanks in advance.

Check out the documentation... But they only state requirements for installing, not actual applications.

  • The server hardware configuration of IndesignServer ?

I'm going to use IndesignServer within the enterprise network to establish a platform for online editing, there are about 200 users, the server hardware configuration, please?

There are a lot of questions here, but I'll throw in my 2 cents on a couple of them.
How many databases are on your database machine? The correct answer here is "1".
What is the current load on the system in terms of percent CPU / IO? If it's 99%, then sure, APEX apps will probably push it over the edge.
APEX page view times are typically measured in tenths and hundredths of a second. From my experience, OLTP APEX page views are usually in the range of 0.2 to 0.4 seconds per page view as indicated by the performance reports or simply putting a page in debug mode. So, if your avg page view time were say, 0.5 seconds and you have 2 cores, you can handle about 4 page views per second (240 / minute, 14,400 /hour, 115,200 / day). With that said, you'll need to benchmark your own page view times on your own system. If you write slow SQL, say 2 seconds per page view, you're now down to 14,400 per day! So, it's up to you.
Are you currently reviewing ADDM or StatsPack reports on a regular basis? I STRONGLY suggest you run a few ADDM reports for 15 minute intervals during busy times of the day BEFORE you put APEX in production. Then you can run the same reports AFTER APEX is in production and review the impact on your database.
As far as hardware, you don't indicate the platform or OS. 2 cores and 4 GB of RAM seems pretty low for any database these days (my laptop has the same specs), but will probably do the trick.

  • Wrong hardware configuration

    Hi,
when I tried request my licence key I got an e-mail with a demo licence and the following text. I need change my database of DB2/EXS to Microsoft SQL Server. Does anybody know how to correct this?
    Wrong hardware configuration
Your installation 0020268639 was contractually licensed with the following
    hardware configuration:
    NT/INTEL / DB2/EXS ( valid until 31.12.9999 )
The data from your license key request for system B01 does not match
this data. You will therefore only receive a fixed-term license key.
Please check your entries and, if necessary, inform your contract
department at SAP about possible changes to the hardware configuration.
After correcting the hardware configuration, please request a new
    license key for this system.

    Hi Rodolpho,
I think you'll need to put a support request through to SAP and tell them that the contractual information is incorrect. The contractual information is maintained by SAP themselves so there is no way for you to directly edit it. When raising a support request you can choose Administration--Licensing as the component and this will ensure that your query will be sent to the licensing department.
    Kind Regards,
    Owen

  • The minimum hardware configuration to support the Diameter credit control

    Hello.
I'd like to know what the minimum hardware configuration is required to support the Diameter credit control application?

    Hello Mr.. Tarasenko,
According to the information found the diameter credit control application does not specify how many or which type units are bought/used and which items are charged. This is left to the company’s needs.
    Diego Rodriguez

    Thank you
