Need help. 2012 mac mini 5.1 digital audio not working only stereo out. How can I get 5.1 digital audio?
I have a 2012 mac mini with a mini toss link to toss link cable connected to an a/v reciever (Sunfire, grand theater 3) capable of dolby digital and dts. I am not getting 5.1 digital audio only stereo audio. Midi setup format 48000 hz 2ch-16 bit integer. In speaker configuration stereo is the only option all others are grayed out. How can I get this to work? Please help.
You should set up as 24bit integer. Toslink does not support
multi-channel encoded over a 16bit link. Just not enough
bits available.

I am unable to connect my imac to the internet. I tried to connect direct to the ETHERNET, and I am having ip address assigned problem on ethernet and also on my airport extreme, it said no internet connection or no DNS server. Please help . My internet provider is brighthouse and I just have a technician guy come to check it out and they can't fix it either. iMovie ’11 is not programmed to come with all Macs — it didn’t come with my Mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
Presuming that your Mac is newer than mine, have you checked to see if you can download iMovie ’11 gratis from the Mac App Store? -

The iWorks prebundled with Mac Minis is a demo release, and not fully featured. Unless you mean you downloaded iWorks from the Mac App Store at a later time, it really can't be freely re-downloaded as fully featured.

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.

I recently downloaded the iTunes 11.0.5 for Mac OS X and the iTunes store comes up as a blank page. I have already tried re-downloading iTunes and that didn't work... How can I get it to work?
I was able to fix mine. I went to software update and updated a few things. I did not update everything, but only what I thought were the essentials, which I believe was Safari, a security update, and a firmware update.
Then I deleted and reinstalled Itunes yet another time. Now the itunes store is back up again. -

iWeb and iDVD are no longer. If you have a DVD with iLife then you can install iWeb from that DVD. There are other applications like iWeb such as RapidWeaver and SandVox. Otherwise, you will need to purchase an iLife boxed set from a third-party vendor such as amazon.com.

I use Firefox 'Most Visited' to access websites I use many times every day. I inadvertently clicked 'Forget About This Site' on a page listing that I need. That page is gone, apparently permanently, from my 'Most Visited' list. No matter how many times I re-visit the page, it will not show up on 'Most Visited'. How can I get it back? Thanks!
Most Visited is an automatically generated list that shows sites that you've visited.<br />
If you delete the history of a site then you have with a visit count of zero.<br />
To make that site reappear in that you you will have to visit that site often enough to make the visit count match the other sites in that list or clear the history from other sites in that list.
You can make the Visit Count column visible in the History Manager to see how many times you've visit sites.

Need Help With Mac Mini Networking
I sure could use some Apple Expert advise:
I am having quite a problem getting my mac mini to see my Windows (Vista-XP) network. I am only able to see one of my systems when I use the smb://command. First I used this command from the address bar of Firefox, it connected and mounted the drive on my mac desktop.....would not see any of the others. I have (2) Leopard books and have followed the steps correctly.
Went back to the store-local and we did the same functions and without fail the systems showed up quickly in the finder as shared.
I have the WINS: NETBIOS name and Workgroup name correct. I have file sharing, screen sharing turned on.
Can anyone give me some thoughts as to what I am missing here. Again unless I use the smb://command nothing shows up. I have the Finder set to show shared.

Here's a tip: write an Automator application to mount the computer's C drives (you will need 1 app per PC). Then, run that app and open a Finder window and then the PC's IP address will be visible in the shared area. Make sure you know the PC's IP address. Then for convenience, give your new apps their own snazzily named folder and drag that to the dock and make a stack.
Another thing: if you don't already have one, setup a password for your desktop because if there isn't one, serious problems will occur.

When I try to mirror my late 2012 macmini to my apple tv. I only see a black screen. I have no problems if I use my mid 2012 MBPr.
The mac mini is still on mavericks at present any advice welcome please. (There is no other monitor attached to the macmini would this be an issue?)

I plug in a usb 3.0 HDMI blackmagic capture device in to the mac mini and connected the HDMI out of the macmini to the HDMI in of the black magic.
So it thinks it has a primary screen and it now mirror this the apple tv. -
Mac Mini + A1038 Cinema Display does not work
Hi,
I have a 2009 model Mac Mini with mini-dvi and mini-display port's on the rear. I can connect any of my DVI based monitors to the mac mini using either the mini-dvi to dvi cable or the mini-displayport to dvi cable. All monitors except for the A1038 model Apple Cinema Display.
The cinema display works with 3 other computers with DVI ports, turns right on and is detected right away. When plugged into the mini it does nothing. Sometimes I can get it to work with the mini-dvi to dvi adapter but that is sporadic.
This is the same behavior with a 2009 model mac book pro and macbook. Using the mini-displayport to dvi cable the cinema display does not work but 3 other monitors do.
So my question is, why does apple hardware only work with non-apple hardware?Is the A1038 the old, plastic Cinema Display that doesn't have a power cord or power supply? It only has a video cable with the special ADC on it? If that's the case, it needs this to run from a newer Mac:
