I go to school in Pensylvania while my parents live in Canada..But I am going to buy an iPhone.However, I noticed that you needed a Social Security Number. But the problem is I don't have one because I am a Canadian Citizen so I have a Canadian Social Number, not American. I need to know if I can activate iphone without a social number but instead a credit card number..

at&t will run a credit check on you - which will require a U.S. social security number. Providing a credit card for this will not work.
Since you probably have no credit history in the U.S., you don't have a U.S. social security number, and you aren't a U.S. citizen, they may allow you to go on a Go plan with the iPhone, or a pay as you go plan. You pay money up front each month for service.
Before purchasing an iPhone, I suggest visiting an at&t corporate store to discuss your options for the iPhone.

Is the iPhone still locked to the carrier you used while under contract? If it has not been unlocked by that carrier you cannot use the iPhone with another cellular carrier. Make sure you are using a valid sim for that carrier.

We've bought 50 iPads to the staff of the school I work at.
The plan is to white-list our public IP with apple for the activation phase but I really need them activated tomorrow and the white-listing isn't effective until this thursday.
It is my understanding that the limit is 30 ipads per IP. The thing is I have access to two public IP addresses but I'm not sure it'll work since they share the first two paragraphs of the ipv4 address (62.88.XXX.XXX and 62.88.YYY.YYY). Do you think apple will think of them as essentially the same? or am I in the clear if I activate 25 on each?

It might very well be that I'm a bit confused. My contact at Apple now states that we're only going to be able to create 5 apple-ID's from the same IP before apple considers it a risk.
The plot thickens.
Previously we've been told that it's the actual activation-part that's the problem (downloading the root certificates).

I need help activating my old CS2 software

I have been using my Photoshop CS for years now and it has been working fine. Now all of a sudden I have to re activate it. It is not a bootleg or from someone else. I bought the disc and software. My problem is I click on to use PS and it says I have to activate it. The screen says that and internet connection is detected and when I click next it starts to activate and I see the bar moving but then it says the activation systems is not available at this time.
Then I tried to other activating options, I click on activate over the phone. A screen pops up with steps to follow and my serial number and activation code and an activation type code that says "Repair 5:12029.
At the very bottom it requests and authorization code. So I call the number and follow the automated system. I input all the codes and then the automated system says it cannot get me at this time and if I would like to speak to a representative. I hit yes and then a recording says that Adobe is not providing support over the phone and to log on to your Adobe account.
I then logged on to my account to retrieve a code but it does not show me how to get my Photoshop activated again.
I am going crazy and I desperately need to use my Photoshop I don't use it often this why I have not upgraded because for what I do Photoshop CS has been adequate. But I need to finish some work so I need to use it asap.

Hello i have adobe photoshop cs5 on my windows desktop and had installed it today on my laptop which would be my second machine, i download and get to the serial number part which i referred back to a email that activated it and put that in. Each time i try to put it in i get a message saying "that code is not valid for this product" now i noticed it said cs5.1 is that any different then just cs5?

No such thing. You simply cannot use Windows serials on Mac and vice versa. Serials are platform specific. If you want to run your softwware on your Mac, you need to use Bootcamp or run an emulation environment like Paralles Desktop.

Can't use 7.6, can't downgrade, need help, please ASAP

I have tried to use 7.6; it opens the iTunes, window then just sits and spins. When I force quit, everything freezes and I must unplug to restart. I have reinstalled, to no avail.
I've tried to download an older version from oldapps.com and get as far as where to install the software; then it says there are 0 bytes to install. The next window gives me a list of files but they are disabled, so I can go no further.
I am afraid to lose my entire library; I figured I could save/copy it somehow, uninstall iTunes and start over, but I don't know how to do any of this, or if any of this will solve the problem. I'd take just about any older version of iTunes at this point, as long as I can import and burn CD's and sync up my iPod; I am going out of town in a week and I need my music!

in your Music/iTunes folder you will find two files (iTunes Library and iTunes Music Library). you should spare a copy of these files since they are containing your playlist, rating, etc. and you should be safe. still, it is a good practice to also have a backup of all your songs files which are in your iTunes Music folder just in case something happen.
I'm not familiar with dowgrading since I do not beleive in this option more than trying to solve what is happening with the current version unless very special circumstances.
could you be a little more specific first about the OS version you are running and your hardware to verify if you meet the minimum requirements for iTunes 7.6? you need at least 10.3.9, G3 500MHz, 256Mg of RAM.

I need help activating my iPod 5th generation?

I've recently updated and restored my iPod through my laptop and I'm having difficulties activating my iPod.
- I never use iCloud, I deleted the iCloud account that my iPod was originally linked to and iCloud always popped up for me to sign in, which I never did.
- So I decided to update my iPod and I realized that I need my (deleted) iCloud account to get through activation.
- I've also made a new iTunes/iCloud account a while back, after I deleted my other iCloud account.
- I've tried changing my password on the iCloud account that my iPod is linked to, and it says "'e*********@l****.com' cannot be used to unlock this iPod".
So basically my iPod is linked to my deleted Apple ID, and I'm not able to log in the Apple ID for activation.
I'm worried, depressed and nervous that I might not be able to use my iPod again!
I don't think there is a way that I can skip activation somehow, if there is please inform me on how to do it!
Please help me!

You need to recover use of the account last used for iCloud on the iPod:

I reset my iphone4 to factory settings and now it will not let me activate it... any ideas how I can fix this?

Possible causes:
1. Your antivirus is blocking access to gs.apple.com.
2. Your phone is jailbroken.
3. Your computer has been used at some time in the past to jaibreak some iOS device (not necessarily the phone with the problem), and its network database was corrupted by the hacking software that was used.
4. Apple's activation servers are down (very rare, and never for more than an hour or so).
For 1. try disabling your antivirus.
For 2. & 3. you need to go somewhere other than an apple forum for help. Although you can try deleting lines containing gs.apple.com from your "hosts" file on your computer.
