Need Help All Files in ACR look VERY Bad
The best way I can explain it is my RAW file's look like a GIF file. Mostly in the darker tones/shodows of the files. I have run some "process of elimination" tests to try to isolate where the challange is coming from.
1. Raw Files are stll good, I have run them on another computer and the image is great.
2. Moniter and Graphics Card are Fine, I open the RAW file in Picasa 3.0 and images look fin on my P.C
I am currently Ruining Vista 64
I am using
Photoshop 11.0.1
Bridge 3.0.0.464
Lightroom 2.5
ACR 5.5
Any one out there ever run into this challange?
Please Help.
I can't get mine to look bad like yours. With default settings, except Recovery = 100 and Contrast = 100, I still don't see the posterization nor the greens you're seeing, although the colors are a bit strong due to the contrast setting. If you've changed more things than Recovery and maybe Contrast, perhaps post those settings.
Does it look ok in ACR and then just bad in Photoshop or is it bad in ACR the same way?
I wonder if you have a bad monitor profile that only Photoshop is fully utilizing and having issues with? If you're on a calibrated system, you might temporarily setting your monitor profile to sRGB (or maybe AdobeRGB if on a Mac) and see if the Photoshop image changes.
I have attached a yours/mine screen capture showing what I see when I max out Recovery and Contrast in an attempt to duplicate what yours looks like. I have used LR to better document the conversion settings, but I also tried it in ACR 5.5 and Photoshop and don't really see much difference if any...where both should be using the ACR 5.5 engine.

I am setting up a new iMac and need help syncing files to Dropbox. On my old computer I had it set where when I saved a document, it was saved on my hard drive, as well as to a folder in Dropbox. I can't remember how I set this up. Any help?
The way that Dropbox works is that it keeps a copy of all your files in your local Dropbox folder on your hard drive (which is, by default, directly under your home folder). Adding files to that folder will sync them to the Dropbox server.
You do of course have to download the Dropbox application to enable this (download link at the top right of http://dropbox.com ).

i have a brand new MuVo n200
i need help, i put my cd's in and everyhting and i filled it with songs ans i can play them and everything, but i hate thats itssorted in ABC order. i cannot figure how to put them so it is in order by the CD or the bandname.
please help.
message me on aim if you want [email][email protected]][email protected][/url]To group the songs into albums or artist groups, I would definitely suggest putting all the tracks from each album/group in its own folder on your PC and put the folder on the muvo in just the same way as you would put a single mp3. The player (in normal play mode) will then play each folder all the way through before moving on to the next one alphabetically (or numerically, if you put numbers at the start of the folder names) and you can then use 'skip folder' to skip through to find the particular album or artist you're looking for. Play around with the shuffle modes too - you can shuffle within folders or just shuffle everything if you want.
Tracks will normally be played alphabetically. To get them to play in order of track number, put numbers at the beginning of each file name. E.g.: file 'examplesong.mp3' would become '0_ examplesong.mp3' If you've got tonnes of songs and you're worried about it taking ages, the computer will do it for you! Click on 'my computer', then click on 'Muvo N200 media explorer'.. This shows the contents of your player. Choose a folder to reorder the songs in and click on it to display the songs. In the pictures along the top of the window, 4th from the right is an icon with a downward facing arrow and an A above a Z. Click on this, it's called 'custom sort'. You can then use the arrows at the bottom to change the order of your tracks to how you want them. Click OK, and they'll all be numbered in that order!
For instructions on how to create folders in mediasource, read the thread in this link:
http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=dap&message.id=926
I don't think you can put folders within folders in the muvo, but just the one layer really helps organisation.
Hope that helps!
x Flaneur
PS- scroll down in the thread in the link: Jeremy CL was nice enough to give pictures in his instructions! If you'd like more help, type 'create folders' or something into the forum search as there's probably quite a lot of advice kicking about here!Message Edited by flaneur on 03-27-2005 :8 PM -
Need Help With File Matching Records
I need help with my file matching program.
Here is how it suppose to work: FileMatch class should contain methods to read oldmast.txt and trans.txt. When a match occurs (i.e., records with the same account number appear in both the master file and the transaction file), add the dollar amount in the transaction record to the current balance in the master record, and write the "newmast.txt" record. (Assume that purchases are indicated by positive amounts in the transaction file and payments by negative amounts.)
When there is a master record for a particular account, but no corresponding transaction record, merely write the master record to "newmast.txt". When there is a transaction record, but no corresponding master record, print to a log file the message "Unmatched transaction record for account number ..." (fill in the account number from the transaction record). The log file should be a text file named "log.txt".
Here is my following program code:

I am not sure what is wrong with my code above to make my results different from the correct results.
Much help is appreciated. Please help. From the output, it looks like one problem is just formatting -- apparently you're including a newline in log entries and not using tabs for the newmast output file.
As to why the numbers are off -- just from glancing over it, it appears that the problem is when you add multiple transaction values. Since account.combine() is so simple, I suspect that you're either adding creating transaction objects incorrectly or not creating them when you should be.
Create test input data that isolates a single case of this (e.g., just the Mary Smith case), and then running your program in a debugger or adding debugging code to the add/combine method, so you can see what's happening in detail.
Also I'd recommend reconsidering your design. It's a red flag if a class has a name with "Create" in it. Classes represent bundles of independant state and transformations on that state, not things to do. -
I need help transferring files from a locked admin account
I was having trouble connecting to my school's wifi because I couldn't remember my admin password to authenticate the changes. I created a new admin account, and connected to the wifi. I didn't realize by doing this all of my files would be on the old admin account. Now I am completely locked out of the account, and need help getting my files off of it! Any ideas?

[JS] Need Help Removing File extension (in CS2 and CS3)
Hello All.
I have a menu in a dialog that needs to list some file names, but without their file extensions (which will always be .txt in my case). The following is some code that successfully does this in CS3, but I also need it to work in CS2. Do you have any other ways to do this? One code that works in both versions (CS2 and CS3) is ideal.
myNameWithoutExtensionFunction = function( myNameWithExtention ) {
myNameWithoutExtension = myNameWithExtention
myEndOfFileName = myNameWithoutExtension.lastIndexOf( "." ) // get the last period (.) in the filename
if ( myEndOfFileName > -1 ) {
myNameWithoutExtension = myNameWithoutExtension.substr( 0, myEndOfFileName )
return myNameWithoutExtension
Thanks in advance.
DanI realized my mistake. The above code works just fine in CS2. My mistake was elsewhere. The name I was sending to this function wasn't being recognized by CS2. Once I corrected that and sent a valid name to this function it worked. So in case someone needs to remove file extensions, feel free to use the above function!

New mac user needs help transfering files from Dell...
I have a Dell running Windows XP and need help transfering the files from the dell to the mac.
Also I have no idea what OP system I have, how do you tell which one you have???Go to the blue Apple menu and scroll down to "About this Mac"
In the summary window that opens you will find the following information:
Mac OS X version (assuming you are running OS X)
Processor speed.
Memory
Startup disk
The More Info button will take you to an in-depth overview of hardware, network set-up and installed software.
As far as transference is concerned, you can either transfer files via CD, DVD, external hard drive... or by networking the two computers.
Here's a link for an overview concerning Mac to PC connectivity:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=19652
I hope the above helps.

Hi,
We are implementing HA NW2004s , the SCS is going to be in active-passive cluster.Suppose we have four system.
Host A --SCS(active)/DB(active)
Host B--SCS(inactive)/DB (acttive)
Host C--CI
Host D--- DI
Please find the <a href="https://weblogs.sdn.sap.com/weblogs/images/251750294/SAP.JPG">Image</a> attached .Based on the above diagram i have following question .
1) what all are the file systems.
2) which of them are soft links.
3) which all file system are on local or shared.
Also can some one suggest the cluster solution which can be used to cluster SCS instance in SAP NW2004s JAVA.
The CI and DI instance resuires the files availble in /sapmnt .In case the /sapmnt fails on Node A . how does the failure on NOde B takes care that /sapmnt content is available for CI and DI.
Can anyone please provide me some solution to these questions.Hello,
Here is the rough idea for HA from my experience.
The important thing is that the binaries required to run SAP
are to be accessible before and after switchover.
In terms of this file system doesn't matter.
But SAP may recommend certain filesystem on linux
please refer to SAP installation guide.
I always use reiserfs or ext3fs.
For soft link I recommend you to refer SAP installation guide.
In your configuration the files related to SCS and DB is the key.
Again those files are to be accessible both from hostA and from hostB.
Easiest way is to use share these files like NFS or other shared file system
so that both nodes can access to these files.
And let the clustering software do mount and unmount those directory.
DB binaries, data and log are to be placed in shared storage subsystem.
(ex. /oracle/*)
SAP binaries, profiles and so on to be placed in shared storage as well.
(ex. /sapmnt/*)
You may want to place the binaries into local disk to make sure the binaries
are always accessible on OS level, even in the connection to storage subsystem
losts.
In this case you have to sync the binaries on both nodes manually.
Easiest way is just put on shared storage and mount them!
Furthermore you can use sapcpe function to sync necessary binaries
from /sapmnt to /usr/sap/<SID>.
For your last question /sapmnt should be located in storage subsystem
and not let the storage down! -
After compressor, video looks very bad
I exported my Final Cut Pro timeline using Compressor,
because I want to convert to mpeg2 to burn to DVD.
After it is exported and in compressor, I choose the
Apple setting for DVD Best Performance 90 min 4:3.
The total time of my timeline is about five minutes.
After it is converted, I play it back in the Simulator and it looks really bad, grainy, blurry, like a poor quality vhs video.
I don't know why this is.
Can someone help please.
thanks.thanks for the reply.
I am judging my video by playing it back in the Viewer, when I add it to a track. I haven't burned the DVD yet.
Here's what I'm doing:
Export from FCP to Compressor (this is a single 5 min QT movie file, that I captured straight from my DV cam to FCP)
my presents in Compressor are: 1 pass CRB,
mpeg2 elementary, NTSC CCIR 601/DV, 29.97, frame controls: automatic, 4:3, Average data rate: 4.5, bottom first.
HOWEVER, I have also followed the same steps on another 5 min FCP project, this one consists of
multiple clips from several different sources, with effects, filters, much more complicated, and it looks great ... with the same settings as above.
Don't know what is the problem with the 5 min QT movie.
After compressor, it looks like bad vhs video.

Need help optimizing the writing of a very large array and streaming it a file
Hi,
I have a very large array that I need to create and later write to a TDMS file. The array has 45 million entries, or 4.5x10^7 data points. These data points are of double format. The array is created by using a square pulse waveform generator and user-defined specifications of the delay, wait time, voltages, etc.
I'm not sure how to optimize the code so it doesn't take forever. It currently takes at least 40 minutes, and I'm still running it, to create and write this array. I know there needs to be a better way, as the array is large and consumes a lot of memory but it's not absurdly large. The computer I'm running this on is running Windows Vista 32-bit, and has 4GB RAM and an Intel Core 2 CPU @ 1.8Mhz.
I've read the "Managing Large Data Sets in LabVIEW" article (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3625), but I'm unsure how to apply the principles here. I believe the problem lies in making too many copies of the array, as creating and writing 1x10^6 values takes < 10 seconds, but writing 4x10^6 values, which should theoretically take < 40 seconds, takes minutes.
Is there a way to work with a reference of an array instead of a copy of an array?
Attached is my current VI, Generate_Square_Pulse_With_TDMS_Stream.VI and it's two dependencies, although I doubt they are bottlenecking the program.
Any advice will be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Attachments:
Generate_Square_Pulse_With_TDMS_Stream.vi 13 KB
Square_Pulse.vi 13 KB
Write_TDMS_File.vi 27 KBThanks Ravens Fan, using replace array subset and initializing the array beforehand sped up the process immensely. I can now generate an array of 45,000,000 doubles in about one second.
However, when I try to write all of that out to TDMS at the end LV runs out of memory and crashes. Is it possible to write out the data in blocks and make sure memory is freed up before writing out the next block? I can use a simple loop to write out the blocks, but I'm unsure how to verify that memory has been cleared before proceeding. Furthermore, is there a way to ensure that memory and all resources are freed up at the end of the waveform generation VI?
Attached is my new VI, and a refined TDMS write VI (I just disabled the file viewer at the end). Sorry that it's a tad bit messy at the moment, but most of that mess comes from doing some arithmetic to determine which indices to replace array subsets with. I currently have the TDMS write disabled.
Just to clarify the above, I understand how to write out the data in blocks; my question is: how do I ensure that memory is freed up between subsequent writes, and how do I ensure that memory is freed up after execution of the VI?
@Jeff: I'm generating the waveform here, not reading it. I guess I'm not generating a "waveform" but rather a set of doubles. However, converting that into an actual waveform can come later.
Thanks for the replies!

File transfer rate is very bad on my new W520. Help needed....
Hello,
I have a usb 2.0 hi speed flash drive which has transfer rates of 15Mb/s. But When I am trying to copy a movie (under 3 gb) from my W520 to the flash drive the speeds that I observe is 6Mb/s which is very slow. Initially, I though I have an issue with the flash drive but when I used my 3 year old dual core xps laptop to copy a file, I observed the speed of 15 Mb/s. If not high speed atleast I am expecting to see 15Mb/s with my W520. Really wierd!!!
BTW... I am running my W520 at "Maximum Performance" power profile. And I see my clock speed always at less than 1 ghz while copying the file but when i do other stuff i see my clock speed hitting 3.2 ghz....
Any thoughts on whats going on???
My system is Thinkpad w520 2710 with 8 gb of ram....
Thanks
RobustmHi robustm
From what I know, the problem lies with Windows 7 (throttling)
How about copying to USB drives? the speed should be around 30+ - 60MB, depending on the file type also.
1. You could also try updating Intel Chipset driver
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=816&DwnldID=20019&ProductFamily=Chipse...
et+Software&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Chipset+Software+Installation+Utility&lang=eng
2. You could try using SpeedGuide TCP Optimizer, which resolves Network Throttling and Slow file transfer problems for some. (Set as Optimal)
http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php
3. You could go to Computer Management (compmgmt.msc), Device Manager, Disk drives, double-click your USB device, policies, set as Performance.
* Note: This may require you to Safety Remove the device, due to caching for performance.
Hope it helps
Happy Holiday

I am very new to Mac Mini and need help transferring files to thumb drive
I want to transfer the Mac Mini user guide (manual) to my thumb drive but do not find how to do it. Help, please!
The thumb drive is on the desktop. This is the most embarrassing question I have had to ask in public in a long time, but, how do you drag something. When I try by holding down my mouse on the file name I want to move it doesn't drag it just gives me several other options. I left Microsoft for this and I know nothing about Apple computers except for my iPad.

Need help importing files into Dreamweaver CS5.5
Greetings,
Currently I have website that is hosted on GoDaddy.com http://www.4thdist.org/home.php . This site was created by another person that is not available to help with my problem. I am attempting to modify or edit this website using Dreamweaver CS5.5 and having difficulties loading the files into Dreamweaver.
First, using Filezilla I downloaded all the files and folders to my PC. At this point, I am stuck and cannot figure out how to upload or open the files and really need some advice. I read the Adobe help section on "importing" and it describes a .ste file. I searched the download folder and cannot find any file (*.ste)
I am hoping to salvage the site and not have to reinvent the wheel and start over. Any advice would be extrmely helpful........GaryThanks for the quick reply.
Your comments raised some new questions. Let me update all on where I am. First, I am able to connect to GoDaddy server via the the local and remote views in the bottom right corner of DW. I see the file folder structure on GoDaddy. I can also see the file structure on my local hardrive that I copied using filezilla. Although, using the server connection I notice that I can download the files using this connection now. Should I delete what I did via filezilla and start over using the romote server connection? One more problem. I have content for two (2) websites on the remote server. http://www.vfwstatepoolleague.org/ This is in addition to the listed in my original post. Although, it appears the other website content is in a seperate folder. I assume that I will need to separtate this content somehow. At least link to it when I begin to start to create a .ste file for each site.
I started to read the article "Creating your first website"in your post and should be very helpful. I did run into a little road block.
I created (2) site names and linked to the appropriate folder on my hard drive. Although, I do not have: "check_cs5" folder on my local or remote folder. What does that mean? Should I create one? -
Help! Photoshop made images suddenly look very bad once uploaded
I have a blog and everything for it (header, banners, etc.) is made in Photoshop and up until yesterday it was all fine. But yesterday I wanted to try to put a scanned picture for my header - which on my computer looks white, but on the web it looked gray, so I decided to go back to what I had. When I uploaded my old header it now looked blue/gray-ish, very pixelated and really strange. When I tilted my screen (laptop computer) I could see some weird edges around the shapes that I had on that header. I ulso tried uploading to Picasa web albums but the same thing happens. I tried also making another image in Photoshop to test it out - it was white with big spots in green colour and when uploaded I could see the edges of the entire image even though it was white (it didn't blend with the rest of the background like it used to), and when I tilted my screen I saw pink edges around those big dots and it looked all fuzzy almost like it's moving (like on those very old TV's when you lose an image and it's snowy looking).
I use photoshop for my blog often and I really need this sorted out ASAP, so please help me!I have the same problem. I did not use photoshop for my header though, I just used paint coz it's easier. I also tried doing the header in pixlr and pic monkey, but the result is still the same. The header still looks grayish.
To make the header blend in with the background, I changed my outer and main background to grayish white.

Hello, we are migrating from version 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.3. A part of it is migrating to calc manager from HBR. Since we are used macros, the import of the generated xml from HBR resulted in BR's and associated templates. I have 2 questions for you gu
