Need help compressing files for transmission?
I want to move a number of files by compressing them. I had been using Stuffit Expender but for some reason I don't understand, it compresses not just the files I select but others on my desktop as well. So I'm looking to fix this or find alternative.

There is a free 30 day trial version. Might help you figure out if it is a version problem. But I don't bother since the Mac OS provides the ability both to compress built in.
By the way, Stuffit Expander is free. I try to keep that updated. Althugh even that may not be necessary with the Mac OS doing its magic.

I have created a 2 minute video and need to email. However, my email provider limits me to a 10mb file. I am trying to export the file out of final cut studio. I have the ability to export using quicktime or compressor. However, I am unable to find the right settings that will allow me to compress the file down to 10mb or less. jbkOn the assumption that you are starting with a DV file, 2 minutes worth of video will be a bit more than 430 MB. You want to get this down to under 10MB which requires something on the order of a 43:1 compression.
The first steps are to reduce the frame size and reduce the frame rate.
Resizing from 720x480 (DV) to 160x120 (square) will reduce the file by a factor of 8. (432/8=54)
Changing the frame rate from 29.97 to 15 will reduce the file by a factor of 2 (54/2=27)
Once you have finished these simple steps, play around with h.264 compression.
Don't forget to reduce the audio to 22khz/mono to further squeeze things.

I am setting up a print server and it needs *.inf driver files for my HP OfficeJet 5610 All-in-one printer. Where can i find them? I've installed the drivers on my PC, but they come as *.exe files that will not extract to give the *.inf files. Can anyone help?

What I want if for the hardware I have purchased from you to work the way I want to. Nothing more nothing less. Please give your customers the chance to pick the software they want and not fill up the pc with trash.
PlanoStar You will find the x86 inf file in the Windows XP Package, it about an 68mb download, just extract EP-CDB-enu_NB.exe using Winrar.
And ofcourse after the hours spent, with HP trolling you, you would think you are done. Think again. Microsoft will pick up the tradition with some Install x86 Medea ntprint.inf BS. to solve this problem download the files needed from here.
It will save you hours instead of mounting AIO images and whatever.
Ps. I have just registered with HP with the sole reason of making this post, and I would just like to say that hp support is rubbish. -

RamHi Ram, yes the MIB can be used. The switches are essentially the same in many regards (especially on a software level).

I am setting up a new iMac and need help syncing files to Dropbox. On my old computer I had it set where when I saved a document, it was saved on my hard drive, as well as to a folder in Dropbox. I can't remember how I set this up. Any help?
The way that Dropbox works is that it keeps a copy of all your files in your local Dropbox folder on your hard drive (which is, by default, directly under your home folder). Adding files to that folder will sync them to the Dropbox server.
You do of course have to download the Dropbox application to enable this (download link at the top right of http://dropbox.com ).

I need help with my file matching program.
Here is how it suppose to work: FileMatch class should contain methods to read oldmast.txt and trans.txt. When a match occurs (i.e., records with the same account number appear in both the master file and the transaction file), add the dollar amount in the transaction record to the current balance in the master record, and write the "newmast.txt" record. (Assume that purchases are indicated by positive amounts in the transaction file and payments by negative amounts.)
When there is a master record for a particular account, but no corresponding transaction record, merely write the master record to "newmast.txt". When there is a transaction record, but no corresponding master record, print to a log file the message "Unmatched transaction record for account number ..." (fill in the account number from the transaction record). The log file should be a text file named "log.txt".

I am not sure what is wrong with my code above to make my results different from the correct results.
Much help is appreciated. Please help.From the output, it looks like one problem is just formatting -- apparently you're including a newline in log entries and not using tabs for the newmast output file.
As to why the numbers are off -- just from glancing over it, it appears that the problem is when you add multiple transaction values. Since account.combine() is so simple, I suspect that you're either adding creating transaction objects incorrectly or not creating them when you should be.
Create test input data that isolates a single case of this (e.g., just the Mary Smith case), and then running your program in a debugger or adding debugging code to the add/combine method, so you can see what's happening in detail.
Also I'd recommend reconsidering your design. It's a red flag if a class has a name with "Create" in it. Classes represent bundles of independant state and transformations on that state, not things to do. -
Need new result file for each iteration of a loop
I am using TestStand 2010 SP1. I have a main sequence that essentially does the following:
Initialize the test equipment and set up the test environment [Sequence Call]
Start Loop
Run Tests [Sequence Call]
End Loop
Because testing can continue for hours, the resultant report file is enormous and difficult to evaluate. I need to create a new result file for each loop iteration. I know that starting a new execution of “Run Tests” will create a result file for each iteration of the loop, but the new execution will not have access to the handles to the test equipment that were made during initialization. The testing is time critical, therefore initializing the test equipment and setting up the test environment must occur outside of the loop.
How can I programmatically create a new result file at the beginning of the loop and close the result file at the end of the loop? I am open to any other suggestions. Thank you in advance for your help!Hi,
You could modify your process model by making a copy of Test UUTs entry point. Then make the loop that usually tests multiple UUTs into your loop. Take the loop and init out of your sequence. You can init in PreUUTLoop or the other pre loop sequence, and maybe store your references in runstate.root.Locals and pass them to MainSequence. Then you can use Report Options to set it for separate report files.

Any responses would be great. I know you guys are busy answering the really high end tech questionsAll the current iMac models (both 21.5" and 27" with OS X Mt. Lion 10.8) will run CS4, 5.5 and 6 just fine. They will also run Final Cut Pro X just fine. Ditto for most any application you may want to use.
Below are some notes (specific to your apparent requirements) that may help you with your purchase decision:
Notes on purchasing a 21.5" iMac
All 21.5" iMacs come with 8GB RAM but you cannot add more later. I strongly suggest getting the maximum RAM (16GB) when you order the iMac.
The basic hard drive is a 1TB 5400rpm drive. It will work fine with Adobe CS but you will probably want the added speed of the optional 1TB Fusion drive for better performance. Some people will recommend/argue for one of the optional SSD drives instead, but they are very expensive and still only come in relatively small capacities - I don't recommend the SSD drives. Get the Fusion drive and spend any extra money on a good external hard drive for backup and/or extra storage instead of an SSD.
Notes on purchasing a 27" iMac
All 27" iMacs come with 8GB RAM and you can add more later, up to 32GB
The basic hard drive is a 1TB 7200rpm drive - it will be fine with Adobe CS. There are upgrade options to a 3TB 7200rpm drive or a 1TB or 3TB fusion drive - these will be fine also. There are also SSD drive options, but I do not recommend them. (Same comments as above.)
Notes on all the current iMacs
iMacs no longer come with built-in CD/DVD drives. If you need one, you will need to purchase the Apple Superdrive accessory drive ($79)
All of the iMac graphic processors (GPU's) are compatible with Adobe CS 4, 5.5, 6
It is very difficult to impossible to change or upgrade the hard drive later on, so don't buy low-end thinking you can add a better internal hard drive later.
Be aware that Macs always come with the latest (most recent) version of OS X. And OS X Mavericks (10.9) is due to be released soon (in the next month or two). There is no guarantee that the older Adobe CS 4 or 5.5 versions will run on OS X Mavericks. If you cannot upgrade to CS 6 in the near future, you may want to purchase now rather than after OS X Mavericks is released.
For what it's worth, I'd recommend the 27" iMac if your budget can afford it. You will appreciate the larger screen size and added capabilities over the years you will use the computer. -

calWindow.setVisible(true);i have to apologize to jittei for the misunderstand i do not know which defination of terms is for which line of code but i know what they do, to solve the problem i have actually made another class in the workspace file called students and now all the bottons work, all i have to do now is properly arrange and put in some additional lines of code and it will be completed. teacher gave me the idea of putting in a new class to help in calling codes from other subclasses in the main program. ah well guess non of you could think of that thanks for the help-ish and hope yall will atleast try to be nice to new people that come in the room. the new coding is:
