Need Help: Computer Wont Load!!!

ok here is what happened. my girlfriend was using her computer last night and it froze...she tried to restart it but it wont restart.
it starts up but just stays at the gray screen with the apple in the middle..what can we do...is the computer dead?

No, things will stay the same. The actual steps are:
1. Inserting the disc, pressing the power button, and immediately after the startup chime, press and hold the C key until you see the spinning gear icon appear on the grey splash screen.
2. After the machine has booted, pick your language, and when the Installer window appears, do not press Continue, but go to the Utilities menu in the menubar and open Disk Utility.
3. In Disk Utility, choose your normal startup volume in the pane on the left and then click Repair Disk. If any errors show in the window, run Repair Disk again until you see 'The volume appears to be OK' in green.
4. Quit Disk Utility, quit the installer and attempt to restart into your regular startup volume.

Help-Safari wont load any pages-others having same problem

Safari wont load any pages. Tried reinstalling Safari. Nothing. Zip. Notice that people on the Safari for Windows board are having the same problem.
WHAT IS GOING ON? Anyone know?
I get the menu bar, but not Bookmarks, etc. Cannot see a blank page. Cannot open a blank page, BUT my efforts (Untitled and Untitled 2) are reflected in the Dock. A right-click there shows that the pages are open, but obviously invisible.
I really need to fix this.
Firefox works. As do other apps.

The last thing I did before this happened was open a .pps file I got in email. If I do what was suggested in the Safari for Win post where someone is having the same problem: empty the cache, everything becomes greyed out. Its as if everything becomes invisible.
If I click on a link in Apple Mail, the URL shows up in the dock right-click as if it has mounted, but it hasn't. No window. Nothing.

Do you actually have a data plan from your cellular provider?
Being connected to 3G does not automatically indicate that a data plan exists on the account or is even set up correctly on the carrier side.

can i get help regarding icon loading in oracle forms???

ok make a folder name it icons and copy all u r gif icons and paste in the same folder(icons) and then copy the icons folder and paste in
D:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\java\oracle\forms
when u want to display icon then do not use .gif(Note: sometimes also works with .gif) and one thing more becare about capital letter of gif-icons.it should be in small letter.i hope u understand.

HELP NEEDED! Browser wont load!

Hello, I have the Blackberry Curve 3G. I am on contract and never had any problem with my internet or browser.
I have had this problem for about a week now, everytime I use my track pad to click on the 'browser' icon nothing comes up, I have tryed to hold down the track pad so that 'launch' would come up, but still my browser will not come up. I rang up where I bought the blackberry from and they told me to do a system update, which I tryed but apparently I have the new software that is avaliable? What else could I do?

Please Open browser and click on Menu (Blackberry Sign) > Option > There will be a option to clear cache and cookies, please perfrom a cache and cookies clear. After cache and ookies clear pull out battery, while device is on and re-insert battery after a min.
This may help you to come out of the issue.

New to Photoshop (CS4Ext) and need help with basic loading of images to new folder.

Just purchased CS4Ext and installed it. It's not showing up on my desktop as a quick entry icon. I want to simply load images from a portable hard drive (USB) to a new folder in photoshop so I can review them and begin to select and separate out some of interest to manipulate and share or get ready to print. It 's the most basic help one can need butI'm jut not clear on the workflow steps . Would appreciate someone walking me through the steps .

Let's see… First of all, this is the Photoshop Macintosh forum. Installed applications never, ever show up on your desktop as a "quick entry" icon on a Mac. Are you on a Windows PC maybe?

Just select them with your mouse in the Finder and drag-copy them into the new folder. Done.

Need help - How to load data which contains \r\n

Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein we need to load the data from a .dat file, with fields separated by | symbol and the line separator specified as '\r\n'
INFILE '/scratch/xyz/abcd.dat' "STR '\r\n'"
FIELDS TERMINATED BY '|' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
Can you please help us load data which contains multiple lines in a single field to a database table field , keeping the line separator in ctl file as '\r\n' itself.
When we try bringing the '\r\n' within a text field enclosed in "" , the '\r\n' , sqlldr considers it as the end of that record and not as a data which needs to go into a column.
One option we have is to have the extraction process create the data in such a way that the fields with multiple lines , be brought in the .dat file enclosed in "" as
"Test
"|8989|abcd
where the new line in the first field is just '\n' .
Is there any other way in which the requirement can be addressed.

In addition, you would need to know the character set encoding of the csv files (e.g. the code page used).
Basically you need to have the facts about both client (csv file) and database character set.

Really need help with a loading screen

Ok, here's my problem, I'm making a puzzle game and I can't seem to make my loading screen work with my main menu. The loading screen is represented by an image filling up with colour where the colouring takes place by means of a thread (and there's a string as well that paints the %) . Now the loading screen is supposed to appear after i click the start button from the main menu and after completely filling up (or when the tread dies) the game panel is suppposed to be show on screen. Between the loading I initialize all the components for the game. Now, when I press the start button, the whole screen freezes (for the duration of the loading thread) after which the game screen appears. What puzzles me more is that if i don't add the game screen the loading screen works like a charm.

PLEASE HELP Itunes wont load

I have just recently got and ipod nano.....but have yet to hook it up to my computer...finally i today i decided to install the new 7.02 itunes on my computer straight from the aplle website.....the instaltion went fine but when i tried to start it up it went to the user agreement which i agreed to and then an Error occurs that say " The iTunes folder can not be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the MyMusic folder."
So hears the thing, I unistalled itunes created a my music folder (b/c i didnt have one) and reinstalled it inside the my music folder...still didnt work.
Next i unistalled and reinstalled it agian and just tried to create a Itunes folder in the my music folder that didnt work.
So i unistalled it one more time...tried to then install it on my external hardrive and it still doesnt work...and has the same error...
All i want is to my songs on my ipod...I cant figured out anyother way so could someone Please Help

the best place to start with that one is with the following document:
iTunes for Windows: "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found" when installing or opening iTunes
... but if you run into the complication where "My Music" doesn't appear as an option in TweakUI, perhaps try the alternate technique from the following Nigel Carpenter post. (heads up: that thread may take some time to load. leave it for a few minutes until it loads fully, otherwise you might not see the correct post by Nigel.)

field does not seem to function in IE 6 but the same file works

using simulate download in Flash it works well too. Is this a bug

How can I fix this?

You may need to delete iTunes on your computer and then reinstall.

Need help with SQL*Loader not working

Hi all,
I am trying to run SQL*Loader on Oracle 10g UNIX platform (Red Hat Linux) with below command:
sqlldr userid='ldm/password' control=issue.ctl bad=issue.bad discard=issue.txt direct=true log=issue.log
And get below errors:
SQL*Loader-128: unable to begin a session
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory
Can anyone help me out with this problem that I am having with SQL*Loader? Thanks!

More progress, I exported the ORACLE_SID and tried again but now have new errors! We are trying to load an Excel CSV file into a new table on our Oracle 10g database. I created the new table in Oracle and loaded with SQL*Loader with below problems.

Need help with Elements loading RAW images since I switched cameras.

I recently switched from a Canon Rebel XT to a Canon Rebel T1i. I have Elements 6.0 and was able to see RAW images with my old camera. For some reason the RAW images aren't loading in Elements now. I get a message saying the files are corrupt. I've tried different cards but still no difference. Any suggestions?

you need at least ACR 5.4 for your T1i/500D
ACR 5.6 and therefore earlier versions work on PSE 6.
You should upgrade your PSE 6 to ACR 5.6; it does work on PSE 6 at least in WIndows. I know because ACR 5.6 works on my PSE 6 under Windows Vista.

Okay guys, I have an ipod nano and i have downloaded the newest verison like 3 times now...7.something. When i plug my ipod in it says charging so it knows its there a little bit but when my Itunes auto comes up my ipod doesnt show. And i dont know any other way to see ittttttt!! So help me guys

The ipod and iphone will not connect. This has never been a feature of either device.
Bluetooth is supported for stereo headsets/speakers, handsfree telephone devices/headsets, some keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the app store and internt tethering where provided by the carrier.
Other than this, it will not connect to another device/phone/computer.
