Need help creating a rectangle with a bunch of text scrolling up within it

Hey everyone, I'm using Motion 2 and want to add a large amount of text scrolling up. Which behavior would be best to use, the Scroll up or Motion Path?
I want to create a rectangle where the text will be scrolling within it but I'm not sure how to do that. I'm I suppose to create a mask rectangle and then add the text?

As with most things there are a number of ways you could do it.
One way is, if your making a rectangle anyway (as a bkg for the text) you can make an image mask (command shift m) on the text object and drag the rectangle into the mask well (then turn the rectangles visibility back on). This works with a filled rectangle.
Of course you have to format the text to fit in the rectangle as it won't act as a bounding type area (like in AI, PSD).

Need help created state machine with timed digital output

Hello everyone I'm new in LabView especially about how to make a state machine. I want to make simulation about state machine with digital output. In Front Panel there are volt_in as an input slider (0-10 V), two numeric control (upper limit and bottom limit), a waveform chart to plot those 3 value, and three boolean (P0.0, P0.1, P0.2) as an indicator. Boolean indicator will on if input from slider exceed the limit in certain situation. This simulation will work as follow:
1. Define the upper & bottom limit (ex. 8 & 4V)
2. Make an input from slider (0-10V)
3. If input (2) exceed the upper limit but less than 10 second (ex. you have 9V input for 8 second, but after 8 second you change the slider back to normal between 4-8V) then the boolean indicator P0.0 & P0.2 will stay off
4. If input (2) exceed the upper limit more than 10 second (ex. you have 9V input for 4 second, change to 8.5 V for 3 second, and then change to 10V for 3 second) then the boolean indicator P0.0 will turn on for 5 second, turn off, then follow by indicator P0.2 for 5 second, and turn off
5. Wait 15 second, then repeat process from (2)
Same process for input that exceed the bottom limit (P0.1 and P0.2 as indicator).
Can you help me make the block diagram of this process? I will appreciate any of your help.

I would highly recommend you to open the template in LabVIEW to design state machines. You can the Standard State Machine template if you go to File -> New.. and Browse to VI -> From Template -> Frameworks -> Design Patterns.

Need help creating smooth graphic with transparency for web use

I have created a logo that is mostly white with white text and will appear over a textured background image. The logo contains text that I've converted to outlines. I've tried saving it as both a .gif and a .png, but when it's imported into iWeb, the outline of the graphic looks jagged and rastered. When viewed in Photoshop, it looks OK as a .png, but not great as the .gif.
I've tried saving it out as RGB, indexed color and greyscale, using PhotoShops "save for web" function or just saving it as 72dpi myself. I don't know how to get the edges to remain smooth. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you J - here's the weird thing. I actually HAD saved it as a PNG24, and it looked fine on my machine. When I sent it to my client, who used it on his iWeb page, it looks jagged.
After I got your answer, I went to his iWeb page and downloaded the same background image he's using and imported it into a Dreamweaver page on my machine, and placed the same PNG logo over top - it looks as crisp and clean as a whistle. I have to assume that something's happening when he imports it into iWeb. Since I know zero about iWeb, I guess I will have to post another question on their forum, unless anyone knows what could be causing this.

We need help on struts configuration with ColdFusion 10 using IIS.
Earlier we were using ColdFusion 8 with IIS 6 for one of our application. This application internally calls struts. After upgrading to ColdFusion 10 struts calls are not loading. We get 404 error.
In ColdFusion 8 struts were configured using actions extension .do in IIS from this file-
C:\ColdFusion8\runtime\lib\wsconfig\jrun_iis6.dll.
But in ColdFusion 10 this file is not present as ColdFusion 10 uses Tomcat in place of Jrun.
Also there is no information in ColdFusion log file.

There are 2 pieces of information that you should be aware of...
(1) None of the PowerBooks are capable of 802.11n.
(2) The WDS link cuts your available bandwidth in half. So the wireless link to your neighbor's has a maximum potential of 27 Mbps.
Let's for a minute assume that you have a Mac compatible with 802.11n. In your configuration the time you could take advantage of the 802.11n speed is when the Mac is sending/recieving data directly from/to the Time Capsule.
There would be NO speed increase in Internet access. The speed of Internet access is going to be controlled by the slowest link in the path to the Internet. That is probably the connection to the ISP. The next slowest path is the WDS link to your neighbor's.

I am in a similar situation, sharing internet with my neighbor. Do you think it would be plausible to hook up a vonage phone adapter to time capsule's ethernet port if time capsule is bridging from my neighbor's router in the configuration you have described? A check of my upload speed shows 1.67Mbps (powerbookG4 w/ airport extreme). Vonage reccommends 90kbps minimum upload speed. Am I going to lose some speed putting the Vonag adapter behind time capsule?

Need help re-synching iPods with new computer and getting iTunes to recognize our iPods (it doesn't even recognize them when they're plugged in).
Hubby wiped my harddrive for me, so now I need to get everything back in proper places. I'm using windows XP and installed iTunes once again (I believe it's version 8). I also installed all of my iTunes songs. Now I need to know where to go from here. We have 3 iPods and I need to get them all synched once again. I know how to create different libraries for each of us, but I can't figure out how to get our songs back into our iTunes libraries. When I open iTunes and plug in an iPod, iTunes doesn't even show that an iPod is plugged in.
What do I do now to get each of our iPods synched with our own libraries?

Thanks Zevoneer. The "Restart ipod service" worked and itunes is now recognizing my ipod! Hooray!
Okay, now how do I synch all of our ipods with our individual libraries (I don't want all of my kids' songs and vice versa)? We each have hundreds of songs on our ipods that we don't want to lose.

Yes, the email addresses need to be unique to each device. You may use the same Apple ID on each device, but the email address used by each device needs to be different.

You can call it in a for loop, with an array of the rectangle coordinates you want to draw. Is this what you mean?

click on Function Authorizations: Purchase Order
create a new entry and
check ref to PR then
goto SU01 and on parameter tab enter the Parameter id = EFB and parameter value is what you define in the functional authorization key
Enter the desired key as a parameter under the parameter ID EFB in the user master
Also make sure that,In OMET in details of function Authorization>Possible ref. objects>Tick only Ref. to purchase requisition and not anything else.

Uber Noob Needs Help Creating website!

I need help creating my webpage: It has a textbox on it were
the user enters a URL and it then redirects the end user to that

I assume the application is connecting to Oracle using an application ID/password. If so, check to see if that user has a private synonyn to the table. If so drop it since you have a public synonym.
Verify that the public synonym is in fact correct. Drop and recreate the public synonym if you cannot select against the synonym name using an ID that can perform select * from inhouse.icltm where rownum = 1. That is if this other user cannot issue select * from icltm where rownum = 1 without an error.
Check that the application ID has the necessary object privileges on the table.
Queries you need

and table_name = 'ICLTM'
You may find both public and private synonms. Either fix or delete. (Some may reference someelses.icltm table if one exists)

Note - it is possible to create mixed case or lower case object names in Oracle by using double quotes around the name. Do not do this, but do look to see that this was not done.

Need to create a textinput with effects

I need to create a textinput with effects- it should show a blue icon infront of it when the icon is focused and the blue icon should fade afterwards. I am pretty sure I need to use skin but the problem is I have only two states with textinput control and not sure how I would use those to ensure a handling mouse hovering effect. Right now I am not able to create a custom component bacuae I have to modify the whole code wherever there is textinput control.

I have a document where I almost do such, but without the fill. I use a Head Style which Spans Columns for this instance; it allows the haeds to flow and fill the width.
Paragraph Rules above and below are turned on with plenty of offset.
I tweaked my setting to accomodate your need - It required only one instance, not above and below, and changing the stroke to a double stroke.
It may be necessary to create a custom stroke to modify the proportion of stroke vs fill. There is a difference of thin-thin and thick-thick, neither of which seemed perfect but might be dependent on the Character height.
Creating custom strokes is accomplished via the Strokes Panel.

Need help creating script to clear data with user inputs

Hi experts.
I need to create a script to clear data in a DEV system from a particular junction.
Basically, I need the user to enter a CATEGORY, ENTITY and TIME which will then be used to delete all data in a particular table which meetes those criteria.
I tried to write it in SSIS, but can't get a user input box.
Also, Stored Procedures are not designed to open input boxes for these entries.
Therefore, is there a way to do this in BPC script logic?
I believe that I might be able to write either a Stored Procedure or DTSX package and then pass data from BPC Run Package?
If this is correct, how would I go about it?
Also, would it be possible to read the DISTINCT entries for Category, Time and Entity and present as a dropdown list? (It doesn't matter too much if not, a manual entry would have to do).
I will admit that I have no experience of script logc, so any docments and/or pointers would be appreciated.

Thank Karthik, but I can't use the clear for this job.
Specifically, I need this to delete from the LCK tables whenever data gets stuck, so if anyone can tell me the format to use, I'd be extremely grateful
(And I appreciate that this is not recommended, but it's a DEV system and we need a way to clear these locks quickly when they occur)

Need help creating landscape in AE

Hi, I need to create an animation of a train moving through different landscape scenes. I want the hills to be an actual 3D rendering with the train moving through them but I am unsure how to do this. I am familiar with 3D and can create the hills in my 3D application but how do I get my 3D hill into AE so the train, camera and lights etc. can interact with the hill?
1. How do i get my 3D hill into AE?
2. How do I add the train so it goes around the hills?
3. How do I get the camera and lights etc. to reflect on my 3D hill?

First of all, it would be very helpful to post an example of the kind of look you're going for or a similar shot you're trying to recreate. In animation there are limitless ways of making things so it really helps to be very specific. For now I can advise this much...
1. Render your hills out of your 3D application as an image sequence that supports transperancy if you want to layer them or you want the sky to show up behind them.
2. If you want the train to go around the hills, it really depends on how you make the train. Are you also rendering that in a 3D app?
3. I don't know what you mean by getting the camera to reflect, but when you make a layer 3D, After Effects shows the Material Options settings that allow you to control how your layers react to different lighting setups.
